The Grimoire Tower Ritual
In the heart of Solmaria's radiant capital, where marble towers touched the skies and golden banners danced to the whisper of highland winds, stood a structure older than the kingdom itself — the Grimoire Tower.
Ancient and immense, the tower loomed like a forgotten sentinel. Its spires pierced the heavens, weathered by centuries, yet untouched by time. No artisan remembered its construction. No scholar dared question its origin. It was a relic of a world before records — a monument whispered to be a gift from the gods to humanity.
But to the people of Solmaria, the Grimoire Tower was not merely a mythic monument. It was a sacred threshold — the very doorway to destiny.
The Age of Awakening
In Solmaria, magic was not simply power. It was identity. It was purpose. And for every citizen, that journey began on a single day — at the tender age of seven.
Known throughout the realm as the Age of Awakening, it marked a rite of passage as ancient as the tower itself. Each year, during the Opening Ceremony of the Grimoire Tower, thousands of children and hopeful adults alike made the journey to the capital. They came from snow-covered hamlets, desert villages, bustling towns, and noble estates — drawn by fate, hope, and the yearning to be chosen.
The ceremony was conducted under the watchful eyes of the Grimoire Sages, robed mystics who had dedicated their lives to the study of magical soul-bonding. They alone held the authority to summon the tower's sacred magic.
The grand plaza would fall silent as the Tower stirred — its sealed doors creaking open once every year. What emerged defied logic and science. A grimoire which floats in the air.
The tome bore a cover of Faded Grey, always grey — the color of mystery, of unknown potential. Every Grimoire began its journey in this color, symbolizing an unwritten path.
Grimoire would choose its user as per its own will. Noone knows for sure whether they will be choosen or not. It is a rare miracle. Many returned year after year, applying repeatedly, only to leave with nothing but dashed hope.
But for those it chose… everything changed. When the bond was formed, the Grimoire became more than just a book.
It became an extension of the soul — a magical partner that would walk beside its wielder for the rest of their life.
Grimoires were no ordinary books. Bound in mystical leather, etched with runes that shimmered like stars, they carried spells, incantations, and mana diagrams, each carefully hidden within like secrets waiting to be earned.
But the true brilliance of a Grimoire lay in its growth.
Unlike weapons or tools, it was a living entity — dormant until sparked by the user's personal journey. It responded not only to mana and discipline, but to the wielder's emotions, loss, triumphs, and inner change.
Some spells only awakened through heartbreak. Others through courage. Some only unlocked in the quiet peace of meditation. Each path was unique.
And then… came the Color Revelation.
The Nine-Tier Color System
There came a moment in every mage's life — a Resonance Event — when their bond with the Grimoire reached its peak of transformation. It was a powerful, often unpredictable experience. The air would tremble. The mana in the surroundings would stir violently.
And then the Grimoire would sing — a haunting melody heard only by its wielder. A private symphony, signaling evolution.
From its Faded Grey shell, the Grimoire would burst into a new color — a color that would define the user's magical future. This color would never change again.
It reflected their mana purity, mental focus, and innate magical affinity. It told the world who they were… and what they could become.

A wielder of Crimson Red might become a battlefield commander, while one who achieved Amethyst Purple could serve as a royal illusionist or spiritual guide.
But those rare few who awakened a Radiant Gold were revered like Hero.
As for the Prismatic Grimoire... it was the stuff of myths. Said to emerge once in centuries, its wielder was believed to hold the power of creation itself. Scholars argued whether it was real or merely legend. No living record confirmed its presence.
A Grimoire's evolution was not fast. To reach Revelation, one had to train — tirelessly.
It absorbed: Mana exposure through combat and meditation. Emotion through personal growth and turmoil. Experience through battles, heartbreak, and sacrifice.
This journey culminated in the Resonance Event, where the bond reached full maturity and the Grimoire revealed the color it had been hiding all along.
But this was not the end. It was the beginning of a lifelong path.
Fire mages might evolve their Crimson Red to wield lava, flame dragons, or even mystical blue flames. Green users might summon ancient forest spirits or purify curses. Black-tier wielders could touch forgotten magics, summon shades, or manipulate memory itself.
Grimoires were alive — ever-changing, ever-growing.
