Chapter 3 - Epilogue: 901 Words

"Welcome to the DTCN!" Someone said loudly as music was fading into the background, "Or otherwise known as Daily True Crime News." In a big chair behind a news table sat the person talking. He was wearing a casual suit, colored a dark blue.

"For the first time in the last 3 seasons of DTCN we have a guest coming back for a second time." He said as the rest of the stage was lid up. Everybody was clapping as the camera focused on the guest. "Every reader in the audience should have guessed who our guest is today, it is Paulina." He started clapping as well, looking and smiling at Lina, "Welcome back."

"Thank you for agreeing to put up with me a second time." Lina told him, a smile covering her overweight face. She was also wearing an expensive but casual looking suit.

The man hit the table and looked back into the camera: "As I just teased, it seems that our guest has brought us something for the readers in the audience. She. Wrote. A. Book." He turned to Lina, "Isn't that right?"

She gave an exaggerated nod. "Yes. Having spent some time with you last time, I got the idea that I should write my thoughts and the events which happened down and publish them, so I don't start to forget all these traumatic events." She pretended to dry a tear on her face, "And today, for everyone who wants one, I brought some with me, signed as well. Officially, it will be released in 7 days."

"Oh! And what is it called?" The man asked.

Lina took out a copy of her book from her purse, it was thick and heavy, like she is. "It is called 'Honey: My experiences with the Oneeyed Reaper'." She put it onto her lap, below the title was the cover art, it was a picture of Lina, smeared in honey standing in a dark room. Her back was turned to the camera.

"Do I get one as well?" The man asked, "Or do I have to go sit with the audience to receive a copy?"

"No, no… You can have this copy." She said and stood up. The man took the book and displayed it on top of his table, cover visible for the camera. "Did not think you liked to read." She chuckled and sat back down.

He chuckled as well and thanked her for the book: "No, I do like to read. And the reason I invited her today and not on release date was that, just 18 hours ago, the police found Tim's corpse."

Lina's eyes instantly filled with fear, "They… found him?"

"Yes! The Oneeyed Reaper used the pseudonym Lukas to rent a storage unit, and 18 hours ago they wanted to clean out the room as his time ran out. So today is the 31th day since you got saved." He was glad about them finding Tim, "Wanted to congratulate you on your 1 month anniversary of being free again. Congrats!"

"31… days…" Lina's eyes, filled with fear, darted around the room, searching through the audience. And in one of the corners of the audience sat someone, they wore a black suit with a red tie.

Their head was covered by a Teddy helmet. "This… wasn't public knowledge." She muttered in fear, staring at the person who gestured something with his fingers and throat. "He is… HE IS GOING TO KILL ME!" She screamed out and sprang out of her seat.

Not looking back at the person, thinking a bomb would go off, or gas would enter the room, she hurried off the stage and behind into the employees rooms. She quickly ran past everybody trying to stop her and bolted down the stairs.

One turn after another, 1 floor down, then 2, then already 5. They were in a building with almost 100 floors, and she was only 5 floors below the top when the show had started. Within minutes she was down almost 40 floors and got stopped by security trying to calm her down.

"Get out of my way!" She screamed and tried to brush past them. They did not let her so she ran into the halls of the floor she was on. She ran past a long window and looked down, the sight made her dizzy. Then she saw the pool.

"I could reach that." She said, having stopped. Then she noticed the security guards running towards her with concerned faces. She had to make a decision, as quick as she could. And she decided to jump.

Her fat body accelerated towards the pool. The water came closer and within only a few seconds, her body splashed into the water's surface. Her bones were almost pulverized by the impact, most of the flesh on her body exploded off and she slowly sank into the pool's depth.

A quarter hour later, an ambulance was stationed in front of the pool and police pushed everybody away. They were trying to recover the body. Behind the crowd trying to observe the recovery of the corpse sat Alex, he was wearing a black suit with a red tie, on his lap a Teddy helmet.

"It seems she misunderstood which one I represented." He said coldly as a smile crossed his lips. He left the crowd after seeing them pull her out by the neck.
