The spring breeze blew gently. The warm sun shone on Shizune's body, and the chirping birds roused her from sleep.
She raised a hand to rub her eyes, slowly sat up, and stretched.
Though she'd only rested for five or six hours, it was enough for a shinobi.
She looked around and noticed that A and Killer Bee were still in the same positions as last night—completely passed out. She couldn't help but sigh.
"How much did those two brothers drink last night…"
Then she remembered Lady Tsunade, who was probably still sound asleep in her tent. Shizune decided to prepare a bowl of hangover soup.
Carrying hangover soup had long been a habit of hers. After all, Tsunade needed it nearly every time she drank—but never to the extent she had the night before.
In just over ten minutes, Shizune had the soup ready. Carrying it with both hands, she made her way to Tsunade's tent.
She opened the flap and stepped inside to wake her up.
Crash!
The sight before her made Shizune lose her balance, and she burned her fingers. The porcelain bowl slipped from her hands, shattering on the ground. The soup splashed everywhere.
The noise stirred Tsunade. She groaned, pushing herself upright with her hands. Sitting up, she looked dazed.
She turned toward the tent's entrance, squinting against the glaring sunlight.
There stood Shizune, face frozen in shock. Her lips trembled slightly, as if trying to speak but unsure how.
"Shizune, thank you for your hard work during yesterday's operation. You don't need to take care of me this morning. If you're tired, go get some rest," Tsunade said.
The dark circles under Shizune's eyes were clear evidence that she'd handled the surgery from beginning to end. Tsunade's voice carried gentle concern, believing Shizune was hesitating because she needed rest.
Shizune felt warmth from her master's words, but she quickly waved her hands in protest—it wasn't that at all.
She couldn't say it outright.
Instead, she pointed under Tsunade.
Tsunade tilted her head, confused.
Clearly still groggy from the alcohol, she looked down slowly—her expression blank.
It was the first time Shizune had seen Tsunade like this. Oddly, she found the moment a little endearing. Her earlier shock faded.
So she turned and walked out of the tent.
Looking up at the clear sky, she felt her heart stir.
Spring had come. Life was returning to the world. Hikaru… He might be a bit young, but Tsunade-sama had clearly taken good care of him. Maybe… just maybe… he was a better choice than growing old alone.
Inside the tent, Tsunade remained seated for several minutes, nearly drifting off again.
She shifted her weight, getting ready to lie back down.
But as she did, something hard pressed against her lower abdomen. Reflexively, she reached for it—
Then opened her eyes wide.
Right in front of her was Hikaru's face, calm and handsome, with a well-defined jawline and a muscular chest still damp with water.
She froze, hands bracing her weight.
Slap! Slap!
She smacked her own cheeks to wake up.
Looking again—yes. It was Hikaru.
Was she hallucinating?
She rubbed her eyes and looked again. Still Hikaru.
Realization hit her like a brick.
She almost kicked him out of reflex, but then remembered the Hidden Cloud shinobi outside.
If anyone saw this, her reputation as the Fifth Hokage would be finished.
Just then, Hikaru stirred. His brows twitched. Slowly, he opened his eyes.
The first thing he saw was Tsunade—her chest practically overflowing, the swell of her bosom threatening to escape her robe. A blush crept across his face as his gaze was pulled in helplessly.
Tsunade followed his line of sight. Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly pulled her robe closed.
"Ahem."
They both coughed at the same time, as if on cue.
Hikaru glanced down at himself, then quickly wiped the water from his chest and put on his outer robe.
He looked up at Tsunade, eyes filled with guilt and confusion.
"I'm sorry, Tsunade-sama. I drank too much last night. I thought I went back to my own tent to sleep, but this…?"
Tsunade's awkward smile twitched.
"Haha… I was probably too exhausted after the surgery. I must've stumbled in and fallen asleep without checking…"
She paused, her mind reeling.
Memories of the night returned—hazy, intimate flashes.
And… it had been her. She had initiated everything. Hikaru hadn't even responded. He'd just endured it quietly.
Her expression froze.
Damn. Did I really…
Tsunade scrambled to piece together the sequence. In the end, it seemed she hadn't crossed the final line.
Thank god. Their innocence was still intact.
But… why did she feel strangely disappointed?
She looked at Hikaru, who was watching her cautiously, and her heart fluttered again.
"Lady Tsunade, did I do anything last night?" Hikaru asked tentatively.
"No! Nothing!" she blurted.
"Haha, the weather's so nice outside… I-I'll step out to get some fresh air."
With that, he turned stiffly and walked out of the tent.
Now alone, Hikaru finally let out a long breath.
He'd been awake for a while—barely slept at all, in fact.
After all, his "littlebrother" had been wildly excited by Tsunade.
He couldn't sleep at all!
Tsunade had been restless the entire night—touching, groping, clinging. Even after she fell asleep, she kept rubbing up against him, driving him half mad.
When Shizune came in, it was like salvation.
He hadn't dared to move all night, fearing he'd wake Tsunade and face her wrath.
Best case: he'd be hospitalized.
Worst case: dead before sunrise.
So he'd waited, praying she'd wake up on her own.
Judging by her expression, she remembered most of what happened—and that she was the one who initiated it.
Otherwise, with her personality, he'd be bleeding right now.
But still…
They were soft. And so damn warm. Even now, he was still savoring the feeling.
