The warm sunshine of early spring streamed through the window, gently illuminating Tsunade's elegant face.

Her eyelashes trembled slightly as the sound of birds chirping roused her from sleep.

Tsunade sat up slowly. She'd had too much to drink the night before, and a dull ache still lingered in her head.

Raising her hands, she gently massaged her temples to ease the pain.

As she turned, she noticed Shizune slumped over the coffee table, sleeping soundly. The corners of Tsunade's mouth lifted ever so slightly.

It looked like Shizune had stayed up late again, probably to take care of her.

The thought warmed Tsunade's heart.

She stood up, slipped on her robe, and decided to head outside to buy some breakfast.

Her black high-heeled sandals clicked crisply against the wooden steps as she descended.

At that same moment, Uchiha Hikaru was returning from his own trip to the street, a bag of freshly bought meat buns in hand. He had just stepped onto the staircase when he heard it—

Thump, thump, thump.

A rhythmic sound of approaching footsteps echoed along the corridor, pleasant and clear.

Looking up, he caught sight of delicate white feet descending the staircase. The bright red nail polish, which might have seemed garish in other circumstances, glowed vibrantly against the black heels. Her toes looked like jade carvings—elegant and pristine.

But as the green hem of her robe came into view, Hikaru's instincts kicked in. He quickly moved the bag of buns behind his back.

"Why is it you again, you damned brat!"

They crossed paths at the staircase.

The moment Tsunade saw Hikaru, she immediately recalled his sharp tongue from the night before—and how he'd even dared to threaten her with blood.

Hikaru leaned against the railing, feigning casual innocence.

"Ahaha... What a coincidence. You two live here too?"

Tsunade took a step forward, stopping directly in front of him. Their eyes met—hers burning, his cautious.

But because of their height difference, she had to tilt her head up to glare at him properly.

Suddenly, Tsunade's nose twitched, sensing something.

Looking down, she spotted Hikaru's hand awkwardly hidden behind his back—and the mischievous smile playing on his lips.

Without hesitation, she reached behind him and yanked out the bag of steaming meat buns.

Then, with the triumphant swagger of a victor, she turned and walked off.

A hot meat bun disappeared into her mouth in the next instant. Juices burst on her tongue as the savory flavor flooded her palate, making her sigh with satisfaction despite herself.

Her mood lifted instantly, and all her previous irritation melted away.

Waving the bun in her hand, she looked back at Hikaru smugly.

"Slutty little brat, these buns taste amazing. Consider them compensation for last night's disrespect. I accept your apology."

Mumbling around another bite, Tsunade headed back inside to wake Shizune and continue their breakfast.

Hikaru could only shake his head slightly as he watched her disappear.

He had suspected that the moment Tsunade saw him, his precious buns would be doomed. That's why he'd even tried hiding them. But nothing escaped her sharp senses.

Resigned, Hikaru sighed and made another trip to buy a fresh bag of buns before returning to his room to eat with Jiraiya and Naruto.

Knock, knock, knock.

While Tsunade and Shizune were still enjoying their buns, a firm knocking sounded at the door.

Tsunade already had a good guess who it was.

She opened the door and was greeted by the all-too-familiar face of her old teammate—Jiraiya.

The moment Jiraiya saw Tsunade, his nostrils flared slightly, and the lecherous sparkle in his eyes betrayed his thoughts. With arms wide open, he lunged toward her.

"Tsunade~ Long time no see~ Let's have a nice hug for old time's sake...!"

Without hesitation, Tsunade twisted her body and dodged his attempt, delivering a savage kick to his back that sent him flying down the hall.

Jiraiya tumbled across the floor like a ragdoll and slammed into the wall with a dull thud.

Naruto, witnessing this catastrophe, winced.

"Toad Sage… more like Pervy Sage."

Despite his youth, Naruto had already snuck into more than one adult bookstore. The experience had broadened his horizons—and unfortunately, his vocabulary.

Still, none of this changed his view of Jiraiya. After all, nobody's perfect, and having someone too flawless always feels unnatural.

On the contrary, it was this flawed Toad Sage—no, Pervy Sage—that made Jiraiya feel more human and relatable in Naruto's eyes.

Watching the commotion unfold, Hikaru remained expressionless. Calmly, he pulled Naruto inside.

Tsunade's gaze settled on the yellow-haired boy Hikaru was dragging along.

"Who's this brat?"

Before Hikaru could answer, Naruto leapt in front of Tsunade, striking a pose with his hands on his hips.

"I'm Uzumaki Naruto of Konoha! The man who's going to become Hokage!"

The same confident words. The same determined posture. The same fire in his eyes.

Tsunade froze. For a moment, she wasn't looking at Naruto—but at her little brother, Nawaki.

Her expression darkened, grief flickering behind her eyes. Then came the bitterness.

"Hokage, huh? Who the hell would want to become that worthless title?"

She looked away.

Naruto's blood boiled at her response. Furious, he charged at her.

Tsunade raised her hand, snapping her fingers—about to put him down effortlessly.

"Wait! Tsunade!" Jiraiya shouted from behind.

Just as her fingers moved toward Naruto's forehead, Hikaru grabbed the boy with one hand and blocked Tsunade's strike with the other.

Then he mouthed silently to her: "Naruto is injured."

Tsunade paused. Her gaze shifted to Naruto's collar, where she noticed the bandages hidden beneath his clothes.

She hadn't realized.

The anger drained from her face, replaced with something softer… guilt, maybe.

Then she noticed something else—her hand was still in Hikaru's.

The warmth of his palm against the back of her hand made her skin tingle, and she instinctively yanked her hand back as if burned. A faint blush rose to her cheeks.

Turning away sharply, she huffed.

"Come in. If you've got something to say, let's talk inside."
