Jujutsu Kaisen: Moon of the Fallen King
Chapter 31: The Echo of Betrayal
The Celestial Arena
Above the fractured skies of reality, a storm of cursed energy swirled like a cosmic wound. Dimensions bled into each other, layering shards of purple and blue light across the heavens. The Celestial Arena had awakened—a space where divine power and cursed essence collided.
The Demon King rose like a serpent in the sky, his massive form cloaked in shadows. Spectral eyes opened across his body, watching all directions with ancient awareness. Opposite him, the Devil King blurred into view, his form sleek and sharp, crimson energy coiling around clawed fingers. He lunged forward like a bolt of lightning.
"You squirm, Puppeteer of Flesh!" the Devil King snarled, his voice laced with venom.
The Demon King summoned forth his wrath. From open voids came skeletal dragons and cursed beasts with burning wings. They flew into the storm, their screeches tearing the air. With a wave of his hand, the Devil King ignited the sky. Beasts exploded midair in fire and cursed lightning.
"Your chaos means nothing," the Demon King growled. "You defied me once. But never again."
The Sorcerers' Watchtower
Deep within a hidden Jujutsu base, glowing monitors flickered violently. The cursed energy readings were incomprehensible. Retsu Zenin, pale and bruised, stared at the shifting rift on screen.
"This tear is unnatural," he whispered. "We're dealing with forces beyond our world."
Behind him, Gojo Shinra stood in silence, shadows drawn across his eyes.
"And the vessel... still missing," he muttered.
Shinji Hashimoto stood apart, his heart hammering in his chest.
Lucius... I felt your soul scream, he thought.
Shinji's Resolve
His voice cracked as he slammed his palm onto a cursed console. "He's fighting inside! Lucius isn't gone! He regained control!"
"That's irrelevant! He's Sukuna now," Retsu shot back. "Focus!"
Shinji clenched his fists, cursed aura flickering around him. "I promised Master Ryuji I'd protect him... no matter what."
Where Lucius Sleeps
On a desolate battlefield, Lucius lay unconscious, black fog swirling above him. His body twitched faintly, cursed marks glowing and fading. A single heartbeat pulsed.
A figure approached silently—Kenjaku. He knelt beside Lucius with cold calculation, placing a small ancient box beside him. Inside: five decaying fingers.
One by one, he forced them into Lucius's mouth.
"Let the king awaken," he murmured.
Cursed energy burst from Lucius's body, blasting the earth apart. Red tattoos flared over his skin. Horns twisted upward. His second face emerged.
Sukuna opened all four of his eyes.
"Ah... freedom."
Kenjaku smiled. "Your time has come, Curse King."
Between the Titans
Far above, Demon King and Devil King clashed. But suddenly, a crimson bolt struck the air between them. Silence. Then came a figure—Sukuna.
He hovered in the storm, unbothered, his presence freezing both monarchs.
"Did you truly think you could fight... without inviting me?" he said, his voice soft and laced with threat.
Lightning curled behind him. The skies bent at his command.
"You kings are fools," Sukuna whispered. "The true King of Curses now reigns. Let the real slaughter begin."
