The news came as a shock to both Mrs. Malory and Nathan, they were surprised when they heard what Jasmine said about her engagement. Mrs. Malory asked Jasmine why she didn't introduce her fiance to them before getting engaged. Jasmine replied that it was her life, the decision was her's and not her family to make. And also they'll get to know Charles soon. Although Mrs. Malory didn't like what she did, she didn't take it to heart and stopped asking.
When Nathan heard the news from Jasmine, his so called mother, he knew his life was about to take a drastic turn. He will have to leave behind everything that involves where he was staying with his grandmother and follow his mother back to where she is staying, even though he didn't want to. He felt helpless, he hated feeling helpless cause it meant he's under someone else control which he hated, especially if that person was his so called mother.
Why? He kept asking himself but it all came to the fact that he was still a teenager and under the control of an adult who doesn't care about his feelings. Yet he still mustered up the courage to ask what was in his mind. Jasmine was surprised when she heard his question and replied that there was nothing she could do about it as he has to come with her because Charles wanted them to live together as a family. Even though she doesn't want that but she didn't say it out loud.
Jasmine decided to stay for a few days to sort out Nathan's travel documents and school transfer process. She told Nathan to start packing his stuff as they would leave immediately after sorting everything out. At that point Nathan knew that there was nothing he could do now but to go with the flow, he Wondered what the future had in store for him.
