Chapter 4 - 1st Mission

Raven

"Today, Miss Elara assigned us to groups, and I was introduced to Lily, who's excellent in fighting and hunting. I guess we're a perfect match in terms of ability. At first, I was a bit embarrassed because, opposite to Lily's combat skills, I didn't have any useful skills except for being a shape-shifter.

I realized that maybe I had been too lazy to hone my physical abilities, as shape-shifting takes a lot of energy. That's why my physical skills are lacking."

"Lily is really pretty with her long, curly hair and cat-like eyes. She has a fun personality and no trouble making friends. She's the complete opposite of me."

Lily reminds me a Goddess I met once they are very similar, like a ray of sunshine. Unfortunately that goddess in gone now banished for being too kind.

"Anyway, We are on our way to a mission when I noticed Lily brow furrowed in a frown as she stared at me. She was really easy to read. _I chuckled_, finding her very cute and innocent. She seemed confused by my outfit, so I answered her question in a practical manner."

I tried to tease her a little. To lighten the mood and ease some tension, knowing today's mission to retrieve an artifact would require us to fly across the island – a prospect that made her distinctly uncomfortable, given her fear of heights.

I offered her some reassurance, suggesting that I'd carry her in front of me while flying.

"Once you feel more comfortable, you can take the reins and fly on your own," I said. "I'll be right here to guide you through it."

This way, I can convey a sense of safety and support while also encouraging her to face her fears and gain confidence in flying.

As I wrapped my arms around Lily, I was taken aback by her softness and lightness. Her delicate frame made me cautious, and I was mindful not to squeeze too tightly, fearing I might hurt her if I made even the slightest mistake

A couple of minutes into our flight, Lily suddenly asked me to release her. I would have liked to hold her longer, fearing she might fall on her own, but seeing her unease, I let her go.

I thought maybe she was feeling shy or uncomfortable with a stranger – even if I was a girl – touching her.
