When I woke, my hand instinctively reached for the space beside me—only to find it empty and cool. My heart dipped a little.
It wasn't that I didn't want to respond to his mating proposal yesterday. Spirits, I almost had. But in the wolf world, "the offer" and "the answer" carry so much weight.
