The vision of the mountain temple had us packing fast, the war room buzzing as we prepped to trek into Visaya territory to save Annalyn's baby. She clutched the focus stone, her pregnancy making her wince but her eyes fierce, while Lucas checked his weapons, Matteo tapped his laptop, and Ezra's runes flickered, mapping the route.
Mara stood by the door, their Visaya runes dim but ready, while Russo smirked from his chained corner, and Kael and Rorik stayed quiet. Elias's army was out there, but the temple was our shot to fix the pregnancy complications, so we hit the road.
"Alright, princess," I said, slinging a pack over my shoulder, my knife tucked in my belt. "Temple's a hike—ready to kick some Visaya ass if they show?"
Annalyn grinned, rubbing her stomach. "Hell yeah. My baby's counting on us."
Lucas growled, strapping on a holster. "We move fast, stay tight. No surprises."
