Episode 65 – When the Sky Turns Red
The first demon charge came without warning.
A deafening howl tore through the mountains as waves of demonic beasts surged forward, their bodies twisted by corruption. The sky above Blackstone Pass darkened unnaturally, clouds swirling into a crimson spiral as demonic Qi bled into the heavens.
"Hold formation!" a sect leader roared.
Defensive arrays flared to life, casting layers of light across the pass. Arrows infused with spiritual energy rained down from the cliffs, tearing through the front ranks of demons. Explosions echoed as talismans detonated, scattering bodies and blackened limbs across the stone.
Yet the demons did not slow.
They climbed over their fallen, shrieking in frenzy, driven by pure hunger.
Faizi Tian stepped forward.
Golden light surged from his sword, cutting a blazing path through the darkness. With each swing, demons were cleaved apart, their bodies dissolving before they could even hit the ground. He moved like a living blade, calm and relentless, his presence anchoring the entire defense line.
The sky rumbled.
From the rear of the demon horde, massive silhouettes emerged. These were no mindless beasts — armored demons with weapons carved from bone and shadow. Their auras pressed down heavily, causing weaker cultivators to tremble.
"Demon commanders," someone whispered in fear.
One of them raised its weapon and pointed toward Faizi Tian.
"Him," it growled. "Kill him."
The commanders charged.
Faizi Tian inhaled slowly, steadying his Qi. The Heaven-Breaking Sword hummed, responding to his intent. He leapt from the cliff, landing directly in the path of the incoming commanders.
The impact shook the pass.
Golden light exploded outward as he unleashed a wide arc, forcing the commanders back. The clash sent shockwaves through the battlefield, and for a moment, both sides halted.
High above, the clouds twisted tighter, the red hue deepening.
Then, the sky split.
A massive rift opened in the heavens, pouring demonic energy downward like a waterfall of blood. From within the rift, a presence descended — heavy, ancient, and terrifying.
All movement stopped.
Even the demon commanders lowered their heads.
Faizi Tian looked up, eyes narrowing.
"So," he said quietly, "you finally show yourself."
From the rift, a towering figure began to emerge, its aura eclipsing everything before it. The air screamed under the pressure.
The battlefield fell into dead silence.
This was no ordinary demon.
This was a Demon Lord.
