Chapter 3 - The Roots of Power

Somewhere in the forests of a forgotten world…

Ash-gray morning mist coiled through towering trees like silent serpents. The forest breathed — not with fear, but with ancient, watching eyes.

Shaurya stood still, shirtless, his broad chest rising with every calm breath. The dew clung to his long, black hair, tied loosely with a bark-string. His sharp jawline glistened with drops of sweat, yet his regal bearing was untouched.

This forest — a nameless expanse teeming with mana-rich life — was to be the cradle of an empire.

A Place Named

He raised his right palm and spoke, his voice echoing in Sanskritic gravity:

"This land shall now be called Agnisthal — the Seat of Sacred Flame."

A low thrum passed through the soil. The System of Adhipatya responded:

[Land Claimed: Agnisthal]

Domain Unlocked: 1 Square Yojana

Mana Density: 7.2 (High)

Resources Identified: Wild Ironwood, Healing Roots, Firestone Ore

Recommendation: Construct Royal Centre and Foundation Hall.

Shaurya's eyes narrowed, thoughtful. "Adhipatya… now speak, how shall I begin?"

The System Speaks

[System of Adhipatya — Instruction Module Opened]

To establish sovereign rule, create a Foundation Hall. You may use the following resources:

Ironwood (4 units nearby)

Stone Slates (2 clusters to the east)

Labour Needed: 3 Shramiks (Workers) or summon using Karma Points.

You have 10 Dharma Karma points.

Shaurya had no followers. No ministers. No palace.

But he had Adhipatya — and his will.

Summoning the First Shramiks

With steady breath, he selected:

[Summon Shramik – Cost: 3 Dharma Karma]

Three figures shimmered into existence in front of him — dressed in humble dhoti and turban, glowing faintly with ethereal blue light. They bowed.

Detailed Description – Shramik Class:

Name (Default): Shramik One, Two, Three

Height: 5'7"–5'9"

Appearance: Dusky skin, lean build, calloused hands. Eyes glow faintly blue.

Skills: Basic Construction, Resource Gathering, Obedience Protocol

Growth Potential: May evolve into Artisan, Engineer, or Commander

Lifespan: 7 years of active karma-bound service or until dismissed.

Personality: Submissive, intelligent, grows with exposure to task variety.

Building the Hall

Shaurya guided them silently as they began harvesting Ironwood trees. The axes appeared from thin air — summoned tools of the system. Bark flew. Roots groaned. The future capital of the empire began with every strike.

Hours passed. Sweat clung to skin. Birds watched from the canopy.

A Visitor from the Unknown

Just before dusk, a rustle came from the ferns nearby. Shaurya turned swiftly.

Out stepped a young woman — tribal in appearance, her dark eyes fierce and her hair tied in a wild braid with beads. A blade rested at her hip.

She was no system summon.

Character Introduction: Vanika

Age: Appears 19

Origin: Unknown Tribe of the Eastern Fangs

Height: 5'5"

Appearance: Copper-toned skin, lean and athletic build. Wears hide-stitched skirt and top, adorned with red ochre tattoos.

Personality: Cautious, proud, sharp-tongued. Has knowledge of surrounding lands.

Growth Potential: May become Minister of External Affairs, Military Scout Leader, or Diplomatic Emissary.

Stages: Child (Unknown) → Young Adult (Current) → Adulthood (In Progress)

First Diplomacy: Words and Warning

"You cut sacred trees," Vanika said, her voice tinged with accusation. "This is tribal land."

Shaurya stepped forward with royal calm. "And yet, it was untouched, unclaimed. Do your people seek only wilderness, or civilization?"

Her hand moved to her blade, but something in his eyes made her stop.

"You speak like a king," she said.

"I am not yet," Shaurya said. "But I will be."

"Many say that. Most rot in these woods."

"I do not rot. I reign."

There was a stillness. Then Vanika lowered her hand.

"You have… power. I saw those men appear." She paused. "I can take you to others. Tribes. Some may trade. Others will kill you."

"Then we begin diplomacy," Shaurya replied.

The Ministers: A Thought Takes Root

That night, Shaurya sat by the embers of a fire, Vanika cautiously nearby, watching the construction of the stone-pillar Foundation Hall.

He opened the Adhipatya System once more.

[Unlock: Ministerial Cabinet]

Adhipati must assign 1 advisor to begin formation.

Suggested Roles (Slots Locked):

Rajguru (Spiritual and Strategic)

Senapati (Military)

Vaanijya Adhikari (Trade and Finance)

Antar-Rajya Mantri (Diplomatic Affairs)

Shaurya muttered, "Every empire needs pillars… I shall find mine."

His first thought wandered to Vanika. Fierce. Wild. Loyal to her people, perhaps trainable.

"Will you serve this future kingdom?" he asked.

She looked at him long. "Only if I see it rise with my own eyes."

He smiled faintly. "Then you shall."

World Notice

Far beyond the woods, in a realm where stars moved like beads on a rosary, the Demon King of Destruction sat on a throne of black stone and time-forged flame. His three eyes flickered.

He looked through the abyss and watched Shaurya work.

"So… the boy begins."

His laughter cracked through dimensions.
