Amber the Outrider!
Eula the Spindrift Knight!
Han Feng hadn't expected that a casual dinner outing would lead to running into two familiar faces.
"Thanks!"
Amber politely thanked him before gesturing for Eula to sit down. The two began chatting casually.
Han Feng, for his part, didn't plan to strike up a conversation. He simply continued eating his pan-fried sweet madame quietly.
"Hey, have you heard of a place in Mondstadt called the Relief Bookstore?"
During the wait for their food, Amber glanced at Eula with a mysterious glint in her eyes.
Relief Bookstore?
Hearing their conversation, Han Feng's ears perked up.
"Never heard of it. Why do you suddenly bring up a bookstore? Don't tell me you're getting into reading?"
Eula looked genuinely puzzled. She didn't think books were Amber's thing.
"That bookstore's different. It sells manga."
Amber gestured with her hands enthusiastically.
"You know, books with lots of pictures and fewer words."
"Just more illustrations, right? Sounds like those light novels from Liyue or Inazuma. Not really special."
Eula had browsed a few imported books before, though the stories were often lackluster.
One she remembered vividly was Reincarnated as Raiden Shogun: Unmatched Across the World.
The title alone had made her speechless. What kind of nonsense even was that?
Was there going to be a Reincarnated as a Lawrence Noble next?
"It's not the same! Sure, the stories are fun, but the most important thing is—reading manga gives you rewards!
Skills, magical creatures, powerful abilities—you name it!"
Amber leaned in, tone hushed like she was sharing a great secret.
"You've got to be dreaming."
Eula remained deadpan.
The idea sounded far too absurd.
If gaining power were that easy, what was the point of all her sword training?
She'd sooner believe Barbatos started taking his job seriously.
"I'm serious! You know Lumine—the Traveler, right?"
Eula nodded.
"Well, the wind-controlling ability she used to drive off Stormterror? That's the Wind-Wind Fruit power—from a manga called One Piece. And Barbara's adorable Snowball Beast? That's from another manga too!"
Amber spoke with admiration.
Even she had been skeptical at first.
But after witnessing Lumine summon that massive wind dragon—and seeing Barbara with a creature no one had ever seen before—she became a believer.
"Those are from manga?"
Eula found it difficult to believe.
She still remembered the day of the Stormterror battle—Lumine's massive azure dragon left a deep impression.
Its sheer presence had sent chills down her spine.
And Barbara's Snowball Beast? She'd seen it during a report handover at the Knights' headquarters and had been wondering what it was.
So they both came from manga?
Her worldview was shaking.
Seeing the shock on Eula's face, Amber grinned, and then dropped another bombshell.
"Acting Grand Master Jean went to the bookstore this afternoon too. She confirmed everything—and even gained powerful new abilities. She's now encouraging the rest of us to read manga.
Oh, and she gave the Fatui a serious beatdown too!"
Amber looked extremely pleased.
The Fatui had always thrown their weight around in Mondstadt. She'd disliked them for a long time.
Knowing Jean had finally put them in their place made her genuinely happy.
Han Feng nodded to himself quietly.
With Jean now openly endorsing the manga store, tomorrow's customer flow would probably spike.
"Jean gained new powers too? And confronted the Fatui?"
Now even Eula was beginning to believe.
Jean was a straight-laced, responsible leader.
If she said it was real, it had to be.
Besides, Jean had always been cautious—if she'd taken direct action against the Fatui, she must've had a solid reason and enough power to back it up.
Which meant the manga store must truly be extraordinary.
"What an interesting little shop."
Now Eula was intrigued too.
If Amber was telling the truth, and reading manga could really grant power…
Then maybe—just maybe—she might gain something useful as well.
"Eula, if you're free tomorrow, let's go check it out together."
Seeing that Eula was clearly intrigued, Amber jumped at the chance to push her further.
"You really admire that shop, don't you?"
Eula teased, noticing the excitement all over Amber's face.
"Of course I do!"
Amber didn't deny it at all.
"Think about it: reading manga and getting powers or creatures from within the story—when has something like that ever existed? Just one item can grant power surpassing even a Vision. Not even the Seven Archons can do that!
It's basically a miracle!
And the owner of that shop must be someone incredibly powerful and mysterious. Just meeting him would be a blessing."
Amber's voice brimmed with admiration.
