Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Training Begins

It's been two weeks since Jun arrived at the Thousand Pill Pavilion, and his days are filled with nothing but training and studying.

He, along with other kids, is now having lunch at the dining hall; they are eating meals made from spirit beasts and spirit plants. This is done to make their bodies stronger; the food is not only beneficial but also really delicious as well. The Pavilion really knows how to treat their members, but Jun knows that everything that they are given is not for free; in exchange, they have to work hard in their cultivation.

After lunch Jun spent some time with other disciples before going back to his room since the rest of the day is for them to do personal training, meaning they are allowed to do any kind of training they want, and Jun decided to go back and study the Wood Body Spiritual Technique to familiarize himself with the technique. After studying the technique, he will study the other manual given to them, which is the Introduction to Grade 1 Spirit Plants and the Spirit Plant Nurturing Manual.

...

Three years passed by in a blink of an eye, and Jun is now ten years old. He grew taller, and his body is now more toned, and you can sense a bit of maturity from him; it stems from training his body every day and studying during his free time.

"It's been three years already; I wonder how my mother is doing right now," Jun said to himself as he washed up and prepared for the day. Though he wants to visit his mother, he cannot leave the pavilion since there is a rule that disciples can only leave the pavilion once they reach tier 2 in their cultivation, and they must apply for a leave to be able to go outside.

Today is a special day not just for Jun but also for their batch, since they just finished their three years of physical training, and starting today they will finally start to cultivate spirit energy, so just like Jun, the others excitedly wash up and prepare. This scene is happening in all of the peaks of the Thousand Pill Pavilion.

...

The Great Hall of the Thousand Pill Pavilion

Groups of ten-year-old children and below started to fill the spacious hall. Not long after, the group from Spirit Garden Peak arrived, and Jun was one of them. His eyes wandered, observing everyone. Not long after, he caught sight of a familiar face. When she saw Jun, she waved at him; it was Minnie. She also got taller, and her hair got longer. Jun waved back at her.

The giant door suddenly opens, and an old man with short white hair wearing a white robe adorned with silver linings appears with elders from different peaks behind him. One of the elders is Elder Lucille, who gave Jun a smile. Jun bowed lightly toward Elder Lucille as a form of greeting.

"Greetings, young ones." The old man with short white hair greeted, his voice not loud, but it carries great authority. Everyone shifted their attention to him since the old man in front is the Pavilion Lord and also the strongest cultivator of the Thousand Pill Pavilion, Spirit Master Caesar Valmer, an A-tier 8 powerhouse. Not only is he a Spirit Master, but he is also a Grade 5 alchemist. He not only possesses great strength but also fame and connections since Grade 5 alchemists and above are rare.

"Today is a very special day for all of you, because today is the day you will take your first step toward the arduous journey of cultivation." Everyone cheered, even Jun.

"Cultivation is an act against the heavens itself, but that does not mean that we will back down. We are the ones destined to tread this path, so we must do our best to strive for greatness." The Pavilion Lord Spirit Master Caesar ended his speech, igniting everyone's heart and greatly motivating them to work hard.

"It was a good speech, my lord; the kids are looking eager and motivated," an elder from Protector Peak said.

"Being eager and motivated is a good thing; since they are still young, they should be hot-blooded, hahaha. I am expecting great things from these seedlings," Pavilion Lord Caesar said.

The elders knew what he meant, and they all nodded towards him.

The elder from Protector Peak walked forward, grabbing everyone's attention.

"Settle down, everyone. I have an announcement to make.

A year from now, there will be a competition for newcomers, it will be held at the protector peak, the top ten winners will receive great rewards and an opportunity to become someone's personal disciple " the protector peak's elders words caused a great commotion among them, since being someone's personal disciple will greatly help their Cultivation, with someone to guide you and provide you with cultivation resources who would not want to become someone's personal disciple, Jun who is also contemplating the elders words is quite tempted but he is a realistic kind of person, he knows that with his talent it would be a miracle to get someone's attention and be their personal discipline, plus he is already receiving some cultivation resources from Elder Lucille so being someone's disciple doesn't excite him that much, but that doesn't mean he won't work hard in his cultivation.

After a few more words of encouragement from the elders, they were dismissed, and everyone went back to their own living quarters. Jun and the others are all given a cultivation manual upon their arrival at the Spirit Garden Peak and are now allowed to practice cultivation techniques, and once they reach tier 1, they will be given an opportunity to pick two skills from the Spirit Manual Library of the Pavilion.

Jun is now sitting cross-legged on his bed, and spirit energy starts to gather around him. This scene is not unique to him; almost everyone is doing the same thing. That is why the whole building is quite peaceful. But unlike others, he is practicing a different cultivation technique; he is practicing the Wood Body Spiritual Technique that he received from Elder Lucille.

'So this is how it feels to gather spirit energy inside your body,' Jun said in his mind as he circulated spirit energy inside his body.

Unlike the normal cultivation technique that the disciples of the Spirit Garden Peak revived Jun's cultivation technique requires longer circulation, because the Nature Spirit Nurturing Manual only requires one to circulate spirit energy to his skeleton and organs then he has to breath out and do another circulation, ten circulation is one set, and they must do five sets and after doing five sets a portion of spirit energy will be stored in their body and they must store a certain amount of spirit energy inside their body to achieve tier 1 cultivation level, but the Wood Body Spiritual Technique that Jun uses requires him to circulate spirit energy not just to his skeleton and internal organs but also to his nerves and skin and one set is equivalent to twenty circulation double the amount needed for the Nature Spirit Nurturing Manual, and he must do fifteen sets of circulation to be able to receive a portion of spirit energy.

Jun is so completely focused on his cultivation that he didn't notice the time; by the time he finished doing fifteen sets of spirit energy circulation, it was already five in the morning, but instead of feeling tired and sleepy, he felt refreshed.

"It feels good, but it takes great focus and a long time just to finish fifteen sets," Jun said as he wrote down his experience in a small booklet; these are his cultivation notes.

The extreme focus that the Wood Body Spiritual Technique requires did not make Jun less motivated; instead, it drives him more to work harder.
