Chapter 1 - End of the school year

I cry into my arms, wrapping them around myself as I sit alone in the school bathroom stall. WHAM! The bathroom door swings open, "Hello, dumbass, I know you're in there!" says a loud scratchy voice.

"He was actually hiding in here! LOL!" A girl with a bright neon purple pixie cut is hiding behind a tall, pale figure with hair the bright color of licorice.

"I knew it" he shouts with an evil grin, "you were walking around like your shit didn't stink. Acting like I don't even exist, I should show you what you're missing."

"Or did you think your sister was gonna save you from getting your ass whooped!" the purple-haired girl says soon after him, practically interrupting him.

Click. Creek. The door groans open, each creak echoing like a warning, stretching the silence with unbearable tension between us. They turn quickly, observing the tan-skinned, curly-haired guy.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" he says - Good thing I believed her and came, he thought to himself. "Hey, answer my question, what the hell are you guys doing? What's going on!"

"None of your damn business! That's what!" -here goes the teacher's pet- he thinks to himself, snarling from annoyance. "Get out of here unless you wanna get beat, kid," she says, swirling a sucker in her mouth, making spit flying out as she speaks.

"I think you should get my moms on her way," he says smugly as his family influences his mom being the vice principal. -Thank you- I think to myself, "Let's go, Jenna." The redhead grabs the girl's arm and runs off like a child who has been scolded.

"Hey, you okay, dude?" he says, looking down at me in pity. I looked down at the ground, not trying to make contact with him. "Yeah, I'm good, Thanks for helping me out, man," I say, still looking at the ground.

"Well, my mom is on her way, and Maxine is right outside when you leave, so-" he says, backing up from unease. Creek the door cracks open again, and a woman walks from the shadow, sharing the same color as the dude in front of me.

"Hello, I came as quickly as I could! What's going on?" she says, whipping her messy hair out of her face. "Everything's okay now, so I should get going byeeee," he says, running out, throwing up the peace sign.

"Im happy you got to meet my son, but could you tell me what happened before Mani got here?" She says in her best fake counselor smile. I refuse to speak from embarrassment, looking down at the ground, picking at my finger from nervousness.

"Don't worry, Max, it will only be between me and you, no one will know, okay?" she says, holding out her pinky like I was a tiny child. I tell her about what happened and about being consistently bullied.

We are now in her office. "Thank you so much, Maxwell. You can get back to class now," she says with a shiny smile. "That's all?" I'm confused about how quickly the conversation ended

"Yes, of course, unless you want me to tell your mom."

She says, tilting her head with a discerning grin on her face, wanting me to drop it and leave. "Actually, no, I think I'm better already, well, I should get going, don't wanna miss anything in class"

I say leaving, getting up, and leaving quickly "Yes, of course, it's the last day of school and all. It must be so fun having parties and hanging out with friends. Oh~ those were the days. Don't forget you made the right choice, Max!" she yells from her office

"YUP," I say, waving her off -not like I can go without that idiot being there- "Bye! Get goin and let Maxine, I say hi! See you soon!" she chirps.

-I need to find Maxine before I run into the troll.- I make it to the classroom without running into any trouble until I hear this aggravating voice. "Hey, look at your boyfriends here!" she giggles to herself like she made the funniest joke in the entire universe.

Noah lifts his head, his face seething with anger like a bull seeing red in cowardly fear, wondering where my sister is to come and save me. I find my sister sitting in the corner with her closest friend, eating sour rainbow candy.

Finally! After seeing my safety net, a relief washes over me, making me ignore Noah and head straight towards her. -That dumbass still hasn't learned anything, has he? That little shit thinks he's better than me. I'll make him understand just how low he really is," Noah thinks to himself, scheming a plan.

"Who the hell does he think he is?" Jenna says, leaping up from her chair, ready to fight. Noah grabs onto her arm, pulling her down by her arm. "Wait, Jenna, follow my lead."

Jenna looks at him in confusion, then agrees. "Hey Jenna, you thirsty?" she grins. "Why yes, Noah, im absolutely parched, thank you for noticing!" she says, giggling.

"Why don't you get me something to drink for us Max?" he smirked, "Why don't you go get it yourself?" Maxine says, leaning back in her chair, still munching on the candy, unfazed. "Make me," said Noah in a mocking tone at her suggesting he do it himself.
