The station was an hour distance and the ride on the way was just like any other ride.
Sylvie was mesmerized with the scenary as she gazed out the window.
The village unfolded like a peaceful serene painting.
The road ahead filled with swaying grasses and fields stretching into the distance.
Trees dot the landscape, their leaves a vibrant green, shimmering in the gentle breeze.
People working here and there with satisfaction and hardwork on their faces.
In the distance, hills roll gently under a blanket of green, their peaks touching the horizon.
We saw some familiar faces as well and waved to them.
We'd only been here two years, but it already felt like home... like I'd been born in this village.
The villagers welcomed us with open arms and were really helpful and sweet .
Especially, our neighbours..
Mr. and Mrs. Fredricksen , an old couple.
They became part of the family and Sylv often spents a lot of time there.
I am sure the old couple enjoyed the company likewise.
My wife invites them to dinner once in a while.. I love spending time with them as well.
The sky was somewhat dark and gloomy , thick with heavy clouds .. shrouding everything in a soft, misty haze.
The steady patter of raindrops hits the ground, and a rhythmic sound of
*tap tap tap *
that fills the air.
I rolled down the window to let the scent of wet earth and damp leaves inside.
" I love rain " I ended up whispering ,
" Me as well " Sylv replied from behind
As the car moves on .. I turned the music as well.
With this beautiful weather.. PPP felt like a perfect choice.
" Someone once told me
In love, that you must
Place all you're given
In infinite trust
Yet I'm tracing figure eights on ice in skates
So well
And if this ice should break, it would be my
My mistake "
Me and Sylv both sang along
Before long , we arrived at the railway station.
----
When we reached inside.. I confirmed that the train was yet to come. We had a quick snack while we waited.
Though it wasn't as good as I would have made.. it was alright at the least.
The rumble and the horn of the approaching train announced it's arrival. We rushed towards the coach my wife was in as it was almost at the end.
And as we were about to reach there , I spotted her.
Her black hair cascades like silk, flailing around . She tied them with a rubber band and let them fall behind her back.
Her blue eyes, deeper than the ocean, hold a gaze that could steal the breath of the sea itself.
Her face.. it was the definition of charming. It was round and soft, with full cheeks and a gentle chin, giving her a youthful and charming appearance.
Her presence had a grace to it, every movement a quiet reminder of the strength and warmth she carried.
She was around 5'10 with a well maintained physique .
The accesories and the clothes she chose always compliment her.
My favourite was a small, delicate nose piercing , enhancing the beauty that leaves me in awe.
My wife.. she was the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life.
" Lily " I called out to her.
After a second or two of her trying to find me.. our gaze finally meet .
And then that was where the trouble begins. That smile.. that damned smile.
It's as if warmth itself blooms around her, soft and irresistible.
My heart couldn't help but melt on its own. That smile saved me in past and even now does the same .
She waved at us, and we waved back.
I moved toward her with Sylvie in my arms.
As we reached her, Sylvie jumped down and rushed into Lily's embrace.
The two of them hugged each other tightly, and I couldn't help but smile at the sight.
The two most important people in my life. Isn't this every man's dream?
Then it was my turn.. our eyes met and then our lips. It was short but it was all we needed to convey our love to each other and how much we missed our other halves.
She hugged me tight and I held her close.. we remained like that for a while until Sylvie , not wanting to be left out .. asked to join as well.
I laughed, reminded once more of what, and who, I was living for now. My past was behind me, and I could only hope that happiness was what awaited us next.
I grabbed her bags and luggage while she carried Sylvie in her arms.
---
We headed to our usual spot... a cozy family restaurant just twenty minutes away."
A comfortable space to spend time with your family.
Somehow, it became a custom for our family to visit this place everytime we were near or we came to railway station.
The owner already knew who we were and gave us a good seat with quite a view.
The weather outside was just cherry on top.
We sat there for sometime, ate and chatted a lot. She filled me with everything that went with her, while I did the same.
It was mostly mundane day to day talks but the most important factor was the time I was spending.
This lovely and sweet time with my family.
Long after, before anyone could realise it was already evening.
" It's already evening.. we should get going "
" Yeah it will take us around one and a half hour to reach home and Sylv is almost asleep as well "
Paying the bill.. we exited the restaurant and moved towards the car.
I looked around, and the air was warm and damp, the kind of humidity that settled on your skin and didn't leave.
Evening light filtered through the clouds in soft streaks, casting long shadows across the path.
The wind had gone still, and somewhere nearby, a bird took off suddenly, wings sharp against the silence.
