Chapter 32 - Chris is Coming Back... and Who is Felix?

In my recent days, between the busyness of settling into my new home, adapting to work life, and making new friends, I had already completed my third month in my own place. A customer who occasionally visited my workplace had caught my attention—he seemed interested in me. He wasn't a bad-looking man and had a respectable profession. We began to grow closer. He had found and added me on social media, and our conversation continued there.

One day, he asked me out for dinner. Chris was still absent—writing to me only once a month, usually around 9 PM, and always in a friendly tone. I assumed he had a girlfriend now. I wasn't asking questions—we were over.

Back to our topic: This new man's name was Felix. He was dark-skinned, had curly hair, a large nose, a thin upper lip, and a few blackheads on his face. His eyes were black. He was a charming flirt, which I'd realize later. We went out to eat—he chose a place where we could have beer and chicken. It felt random for a first date, but we were already there. I had one beer, he had two, and seemed slightly tipsy. He offered to call a taxi and drop me off at home, which I accepted.

On the way, he held my hand and asked if he could come up to my place. In a moment of passion, I said yes. We went up to my apartment, and what followed in the bedroom led to a morning of regret—but we continued like that. My relationship with Felix was somewhere between flirtation and a friends-with-benefits dynamic, but without a clear label.

He took me out, tried to show me new places, drove a nice car, gave gifts, and even helped with some of my home items. He once gave me a gold bracelet and necklace. However, Felix often seemed glued to his phone—messages, calls—I didn't ask, I didn't care. He was not the type to stay. He never talked about the future, never made promises. He lived only for the moment.

Felix would later become a man who had a child out of wedlock. He's still on my social media to this day. My gut always told me something was missing with him—he never made me feel secure—but he supported me, especially financially. Perhaps that's how he influenced people.

If something is missing in you, someone who can fill that gap always looks beautiful.

And then… What?! A message from Chris: 'I'm coming there next Friday evening. Host me for two days.' This was unexpected…
