"The city of Arithbriar was established in the fifth month of the year 3678, Centrumver, on the 11th day, when ships from the Arus Empire first arrived on the continent that would come to be known as Aruliea.
"They established a settlement and called it "Arithbriar" because the sailors thought the landscape closely resembled that of Arith back on the motherland, and because of the "unnecessary" number of thorny brambles that covered the ground.
"The settlement grew larger as more ships carried citizens of the Empire to the newly discovered continent, most of the ships landing in the port town it was growing into.
"Some of the people they brought began to spread outward and explore the land outside Arithbriar, creating their own settlements and towns all over.
"After ten years, there were towns and cities across the entire continent, the largest and oldest being the port city of Arithbriar. The locals even began to establish borders, and the four kingdoms were formed.
"The frozen Northern Realm with Icekeep, the dry Southern Realm with Ankhtahr, the humid Western Realm with Jadena, and the temperate Eastern Realm with Arithbriar.
"In 3692, when the Arus Empire got word that the locals had established kingdoms on the new continent, the emperor sent members of the aristocracy to rule over each of the realms and live in their capital cities.
"Only female aristocrats were sent to the realms, so that their male counterparts could continue to rule over their lands. Their descendants could only return for emergencies and to get married.
"For the Eastern Realm and Arithbriar, the Duchess of the lands of Arith, Reyna Thunderstrike, was sent to the city.
"Before her arrival, a magnificent castle was built in the middle of the city, and the townsfolk set up a festival in her honor, preparing to welcome her to her new home. When she arrived in the ninth month of the year, she was delighted to see the party they had thrown for her.
"The date Ultimusaestus, 20th is still celebrated every year in the Eastern Realm as a celebration of the ruling family, the Thunderstrikes."
