The next day…
Sunlight streamed into the room.
At this moment, Sol had already completed all preparations before drawing cards, solemnly beginning today's pull.
With one-point-two billion Dennies in hand, it was time for another hundred-pull draw.
That still left him with around twenty to thirty million Dennies for living expenses. A man should always have some pocket money.
Of course, even though he was now this wealthy, he would still gladly accept the one million Dennies Tartaglia sent him every month.
After all, he was a thrifty man who managed his household well—and why would I turn down free money from the Fatui?
"Well then, let's begin."
Sol willed the system's card pool to open, burning through all one-point-two billion Dennies in one go.
Though his current strength already allowed him to rampage through this world, with some abilities still undeveloped, cards were still worth pulling. Even if not immediately useful, they would expand his options in the future.
Soon, one hundred and twenty flashes of light leapt from the card pool, stored away into the system warehouse.
Sol began checking them one by one.
He skimmed past the white, green, and blue cards quickly.
Most were daily necessities and assorted goods: tens of thousands of pounds of fresh fish and meat, rice, flour, oils, electronics, clothing, shoes, bags, and the like.
The few skills and combat items among them were of little use to him now. After all, he was no longer the blank-slate youth who had just crossed over—he was already half-covered in divine-grade gear, a true whale-tier powerhouse.
Still, three blue cards caught his eye:
[Super Cat Treat: An irresistible delight for any cat.]
[Infinite Ammo Enchantment Scroll: Grants a designated weapon the infinite ammo property. Excludes special categories like railgun rounds, spirit rounds, or nuclear shells.]
[Swordsmanship Notes of a Cloud Knight Vanguard:A training record left by a diminutive swordsman. Studying it imparts key insights of Xianzhou Luofu's swordsmanship.]
For him, these three weren't much use.
The [Infinite Ammo Enchantment Scroll] was nothing but a low-tier substitute for his spirit base trait.
It could refine only one weapon, and only for conventional gunpowder-based rounds.
By contrast, his conceptual skill [Eagle's Ammunition] allowed any weapon to have unlimited rounds—even nuclear shells, railgun slugs, or rockets.
Compared to that, the scroll was a complete chicken rib.
Still, Sol remembered the promise he'd made with his good brother Billy. Beating him in a video game was impossible for him right now, but someday—if Billy did prove himself—Sol could enchant his gun as a reward.
Tsk, tsk. A robot of terror with infinite ammo? That's just straight-up S-rank material.
As for the [Super Cat Treat], not much use either—but feeding it to Nekomata would definitely be entertaining.
And the [Swordsmanship Notes of the Cloud Knight Vanguard] weren't much help to his blade arts, but they had another purpose: locating the neighboring world of Honkai Star Rail.
In two months' time, he'd go take a look.
With his current strength, though, he needed to be cautious. Better reach the extremities of wielding a sword, to become equal to an Emanator—before making waves. Otherwise, he might just end up as a joke.
Steeling his mind, Sol turned his attention to the purple-tier cards.
There were ten in total—three more than the guaranteed rate. According to the system's gacha rules, every tenth pull guaranteed a purple, every thirtieth guaranteed a gold, and the hundredth was a self-chosen gold.
So out of one hundred and twenty pulls, the baseline was seven purples, four golds, and one self-selected gold.
To get ten purples meant his drop rate had improved by nearly half. Clearly, luck was with him today.
Excited, he began reviewing the ten purples.
[Iron Head Mastery:Grantsahead comparable to divine steel, making it impervious to blades or bullets.]
[Iron Arm Mastery:Grantsarmscomparable to divine spears, bestowing it immense power.]
[Iron Cobra Mastery:Grants your "weapon" overflowing vitality.]
[Iron Body Mastery…], [Iron Leg Mastery…], [Iron Foot Mastery…], [Iron Face Mastery…], [Iron Hand Mastery…], [Iron Balls Mastery…]
Nine distinct external-arts masteries, as if all born from the same litter.
The last was [Cosmic Cowboy Outfit · Boothill's Replica], wild and stylish in appearance. Stat-wise, though, it was nothing special—about the same as the previous FGO sets, giving around a 10% buff.
"What the… nine iron-style martial arts at once? What are the odds?"
Sol was speechless staring at the lineup.
Still, their descriptions looked excellent—especially [Iron Cobra Mastery] and [Iron Balls Mastery], which practically radiated raw strength.
With a thought, the nine purple cards shattered together, merging into Sol's body.
In that instant, his physique underwent a qualitative transformation.
His body, already capable of matching one hundred tons of force, strengthened further—now capable of shrugging off rocket fire without a scratch.
His strength surged again, reaching six hundred tons of raw strength.
On his panel, however, the nine purple traits didn't appear. Even his old purple trait [Iron Body] vanished.
In its place gleamed a golden trait:
[Immovable Vajra:Grants a body of diamond, rendering it impervious to harm. Bestows immense strength capable of hurling mythical beasts and scattering armies.]
"They fused?"
Sol blinked in mild surprise.
But this was a good thing. Too many traits cluttered the panel anyway.
It seemed ten purples of the same type could merge into one gold—a balance befitting their gulf in power.
And the original functions were, of course, subsumed into the new golden trait.
After finishing with the purples, Sol turned to the main event: the gold cards.
Four of them, plus the one he could choose himself.
[Leyline Stone], [Survival Kit], [Lich's Phylactery]—three more full revival tokens.
Three extra lives. Cause for celebration. Now he had six backups in total, still three short of a cat's nine lives.
The last was [MANTIS Gene · Emperor-Class Honkai Beast · Parvati:A gene harvested from an emperor-class Honkai beast. Perfected for integration, it grants complete mastery of ice powers that is capable of freezing even the flames of apocalypse—without bodily leakage.]
"This is Kevin Kaslana's power. Seems we really are fated."
Sol's brow arched as a smile tugged his lips.
Previously, he had drawn the weapon Judgment of Shamash—Kevin's personal armament. Before Kevin ascended as the Herrscher of the End, that blade alone let him unleash continent-shattering might.
In Kevin's hands, its strongest form—Might of An-Utu—shone brightest. Yet for others, even liberating its first stage, Cleaver of Shamash, would reduce them to ashes.
The difference lay not only in personal quality but in Kevin's fusion with Parvati's genes. His control of ice allowed him to neutralize the weapon's scorching heat.
With enough skill, Kevin could even freeze the weapon mid-liberation.
Hence his famous line: I can hold this sword because I have the power to break it.
But because of Parvati's peculiar genes, Kevin's body was locked at minus thirty degrees Celsius, leaving him unable to even embrace Dr. Mei.
Fortunately, Sol's version was optimized—the ice power was entirely under his control.
"Well then, let's fuse."
Confirming there were no side effects, Sol didn't hesitate.
The golden card shattered.
Ice and snow etched into his flesh, becoming instinct in an instant.
From this day forward, he could wield the Judgment of Shamash without fear—and he had also gained a vast new potential in cryokinesis.
The fusion completed instantly. No plummeting temperatures, no sudden frost creeping across the bed.
Stretching out a hand, Sol conjured a block of ice, molding its size at will.
He was pleased. Perfect mastery indeed.
Finally came the self-selected gold card.
Ten options appeared. Eliminating the weaker ones, he was left with two that made him hesitate.
[Photosynthesis:Evolve upward under the light of a star. (Note:Within a century, ascend to a lifeform comparable to a star-breaker, with limits no greater than a star itself.)]
[Energy Absorption Lv.5:An ability derived from Black King, Sebastian Shaw. Capable of absorbing and converting nearly all forms of energy for one's own use, including but not limited to kinetic energy, electrical energy, and magical energy.]
