"The child from the Viscount mansion stated that he saw his sister at dawn. But according to the autopsy, she died at midnight..." Eithe wrote on a piece of paper using a quill.
After securing the area, documenting the scene, collecting the evidence and gathering the testimonies of the witnesses, the four of them left for further investigation.
And right now, Eithe was at their agency while the others returned to their home aside from Seviel. He was lying on his desk and sleeping peacefully. Did he forgot that he's still in our office, not in his place?
Nevertheless, Eithe choose to ignore that guy and proceed with her analyzation.
"Same with that guy, Arill. He saw Deidra at an inn yesterday despite the girl dying a few days ago." she leaned on her seat and stared at the dimly lit light bulb at the ceiling.
"Was that their ghost?" she chuckled at her own joke. She firmly believe that there's no such thing as ghost. Everything is made from human's imagination. And if they really exist, then instead of appearing as a worker in an inn or sneaking out of their house at dawn, they should've pointed out who their murderer was.
And... "What's up with mirror?" she muttered and Seviel replied.
"It's a tool for the crime." he spoke playfully. He's no longer lying on his desk and is heading towards her table.
"Thank you for telling me the most obvious thing," Eithe replied sarcastically, pertaining that anyone could tell that the mirror shards were used as a murder weapon. However, instead of feeling insulted by her response, he shook his head in disbelief.
"I can't believe you didn't know the myth about the broken mirror." he started and Eithe rolled her eyes. She have no time to listening on his mythical stories but his next words caught her attention.
"I'm not pertaining about the mirror shards. I'm talking about the shattered mirror as it was similar to the mirror in the myth. It's the reason why the evil queen tried to kill the girl who is prettier than her."

"This women are indeed worth of envy..." Eithe muttered while checking the pictures of each victim. Aside from two commoners, the image of the other three victims were enough to conclude the those two were also breathtakingly beautiful.
"Aischel Coradon-Sorvin," she read the name of the first victim. Her body was found in her closet while holding a mirror and her face was unrecognizable. They could only tell that it was her because of her favorite necklace from the Count and her familiar stature.
She is the wife of Count Sorvin, and has brown hair and bright green eyes. At the age of 29, her mature visuals were highlighted. Despite having 2 children, her curvaceous body was maintained—something that all madams in the society hopes.
Then, after the day of her death, there goes the second victim, Charis. Her dead body was found in their room while her children lied beside her, sleeping soundly. Similar to the first victim, her face was unrecognizable, and it is more than just a stab. It looks like the skin was peeled off skillfully and whoever does this made it resemble like it was cause by a repetitive stabbing. With this, they could suspect that the culprit works as a leatherworker, a taxidermist, a medical dissector or a resurrectionist.
According to their investigation, the second victim is a widowed wife with three children. Her husband died after he mediated a fight between noble brats as a knight. While her children was sent to the orphanage in this city. She was 31 years old and she came from a fallen noble, that's why her family status was better than Deidra and despite not having a job, she survive with the money sponsored by the family of those noble brats.
Two days later, the favorite child of Baron Espen, Emery Espen died after she sneak out of the mansion. She was found dead near their mansion and a mirror was found beside her dead body. Similar with Charis, her face looks like it was peeled off then stabbed repeatedly. She's way younger than those two and her porcelain skin and doll like face shows her incredible beauty. It's the reason why she was targeted by the killer.
Then there's Deidra. The absolutely stunning commoner from the countryside who works at an inn. According to the autopsy, she was dead for almost three days or 63 hours prior to the discovery of the body. Her rapid putrefaction was caused by the hot temperature, humidity of the crime scene, and the huge wound caused by peeling off skin and multiple stabs.
So, Jaime's assumption was accurate.
This means that Deidra was killed two days after Emery died. Then, Agatha, the Viscount's daughter was killed two days after Deidra. Deidra's body was only discovered the day after Agatha's death, showing that she had been dead for almost three days.
Eithe sighed and placed the paper on the table, before massaging her temple.
"Is the culprit really peeling off their faces?" she mumbled softly.
For what? Is it obsession on beautiful faces? Or a type of business?
If it is, then that makes it more complicated. As it is connected to the black market.
"I've finished my investigation," Jaime spoked, interrupting her train of thoughts. When she shifted her gaze to his direction, she saw him drinking coffee, again and his tired eyes stared back at her. "According to my source," pertaining to the information guild, "here is the list of women and their information who match your given description." he then pointed a thick pile of paper on his table.
"Have you scanned those list?" Eithe inquired before took a few of those paper and began reading them. Seviel grabbed a few, too. He's been there since last night but he was ignored after he spoke about that myth.
As of the other detectives present today, they continued with their work but some of them are stealing glances towards Eithe. They're waiting for her reaction after what Seviel did.
Unfortunately, the exhausted and sleepy Eithe paid no attention to that guy and choose to read the information about the women on the list. Most on the list were noble blood but that doesn't made them impervious from the culprit.
After an hour of dead silence, Eithe stood up and faced Jaime who was finishing another cup of coffee.
"Request for the police to tail this people. They can be the key to find the culprit." she said before walked out the agency, leaving Jaime blinking rapidly.
