Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Types

"Wow!"

Gojo-sensei actually sent me back to Jujutsu Tech. He said it would be better in case I passed out forcibly or if my ability was doing more harm than good.

Now, Yuji and the other two had returned. We all sat next to the track outside, the warmth of the afternoon sun sinking into our backs while a light breeze carried the faint scent of cut grass. Yuji kept sneaking glances at me, his brows furrowed in confusion, like he wasn't sure if I was still the same person. I also felt that supposed King of Curses gaze at me from within him. I felt a moderate pressure, faintly tinged with amusement.

It was such a strange feeling.

"Your eyes are kind of hot, but unfortunately you aren't my type. Hah~" Nobara's voice had that teasing lilt, like she was half-joking but fully serious, her lips curling into a sly smirk as she leaned back on her hands.

"What's your type?" Yuji asked, tilting his head, his grin widening like he was waiting for something ridiculous.

I didn't particularly care, but my interest was piqued.

"Somebody like Oda Nobunaga!"

Yuji and I turned to look at each other, our smiles twitching while our eyebrows shot up in sync. For some reason, her answer was strangely fitting.

"Now, you two! Fushiguro, don't worry about it."

"Why?" Megumi asked flatly, not even looking up, though the faintest side-eye betrayed his annoyance.

"Cause obviously you'll never have a woman."

"Pfft!"

"Hahaha~"

Yuji and I doubled over laughing, the sound echoing off the empty track. Megumi didn't even say anything, but the way his shoulders stiffened and his jaw tightened said enough. I think he just didn't know how to put it into words.

Yuji and I stopped laughing. Our minds both syncing up to think about her question. This was a serious thing to ponder!

I thought it was a big ass or big tits, maybe even thighs, but that's when it hit me like an epiphany. What I sought most wasn't those things but instead a healthy balance. My type couldn't be too big in one area because I felt that made them too limited.

If they had a balanced body, then they wouldn't be limited by a single trait. Of course, this was quite naive probably and I shouldn't necessarily care, but this was my opinion. I really felt that those with only one big trait were more limited mentally as well as physically.

"I like balanced women. As for who fits that…I don't really know. WAIT!" It hit me just then, "Megumi, that girl I met on my first day, who was it?"

"Maki?"

"That's her name?"

"Yeah. Though, I don't even know if I should tell you this, but…Ieiri-sensei is probably more your type." Megumi covered his face with a palm letting out an exaggerated sigh.

Yeah, yeah, "not his type," my ass. You don't just drop someone's name like that unless you've been looking.

Me: "So you do like women!"

Yuji: "I knew it!"

Yuji and I high-fived! It was great that our third brother wasn't on a stray path. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it definitely would've made things awkward. Who knew when he'd come for one of us...especially me. My good looks were just too much.

Only second to Gojo-sensei of course.

Nobara: "No way?!" Her smirk grew even sharper, eyes gleaming like she'd found fresh gossip. Technically, she did.

"You guys are annoying." Megumi gave us a dead stare. But seriously, who would have thought he had it in him? It wasn't his type, sure, but the fact he offered meant that he looked at her in some kind of way.

'Megumi, your suggestion has been duly noted! I'll have to keep other bastards—damn it.'

I've been putting on an act in front of people except for Gojo-sensei. My mind was actually unstable, trying to suppress my awakened desires from my cursed ability. I was lacking knowledge, which was a given with all the circumstances.

For the last few hours, my inner thoughts would become more sadistic just for that split second. It was like when you stapled paper together; Quick but noticeable.

But back to the main issue, I couldn't even properly use cursed energy. Every use of it had been circumstantial. I tried when I returned, but I still couldn't get it to leave my body. The feeling I had when I used "Inverted Sky" I had memorized, but even trying to replicate that, it didn't work.

"Hey Tatsuya! Earth to Tatsuya!" Nobara waved her hand in front of me with the pink and black-haired duo behind her staring at me. Yuji's brows furrowed while Megumi just crossed his arms, clearly waiting for me to snap out of it.

"What's up?" I snapped out of it.

"We just got a text saying to meet up at the entrance. You didn't feel your phone go off?"

"Uh?" I checked my phone in my pocket, and I did get a message but not the same one.

"Tatsu-kun, stay at the track! Your favorite sensei will be there in a second!"

"Pfft~ such a Gojo-sensei-like message." I laughed at the goofiness. He even sent an anime thumbs-up sticker. I bet if he could, he would have sent a sticker of himself.

"Gojo-sensei texted you?" Yuji asked.

"Yeah, I think he's going to help me understand my abilities better. It's probably so I don't make a mistake when my life is on the line."

"Makes sense. Should I get that too?"

"Yeah, now that I think about it…"

Ding~

My phone went off again.

"Tell Yuji to stay as well!"

"Looks like you're staying, Yuji."

"You think he heard us?"

"No way, right?"

"It would be insane if—"

A faint shift in the air brushed the back of my neck, cool and deliberate, like someone exhaling right behind me. My gut tightened before my brain caught up.

"Yeah~, no way Gojo-sensei could do such a thing~"

I turned slowly hearing the familiar playful voice. White hair, Blindfold, and Smiling way too close. Somehow he bypassed my enhanced senses this time.

"Holy shit?!"

Gojo-sensei got me good. I jumped off the ground with more force than intended. If I was standing up who knows how far I would have gone but even from sitting down I got good air.

"I got you! Good boy~"

"Let me go, Kugisaki-san." She brought me back to reality. "Go be a good girl and go to the front with Megumi."

"Whatever." She shrugged, letting me go.

Pa~

My butt hit the ground with a loud thud, but it was way better than that shit she just pulled.

"Man, so cold~! Seems you got rejected so quickly, Tatsu-kun! Maybe Shoko won't be so harsh."

"You think so?"

"I doubt you'll win her over though, hahaha~"

"Don't underestimate me, Sensei!"

"That's the spirit! I'll text and let her know!"

"A-Ah, wait, Sensei! At least let me control my cursed energy first!"

It would be so embarrassing if I couldn't do that.

Gojo-Sensei shook his head, "well that aside, let's get you two on the right track!"
