The stiletto fell from Xavier hand to the ground as fear clawed his chest,his gaze which was usually sharp now flickered with uncertainty.
Dark stared at him, surprised at his father reaction. He never thought his father cared so much for him. *"But why?He probably just want me alive for a reason."* Dark scoffed as he examined his father.
Xavier sniffed quietly, quickly hiding the crack in his demeanor and spoke with forced calm."Why would you intend on killing yourself?You can't tell me you're tired of life already."
Kiara was just speechless,her breath raspy while she stared at the scene .
Dark gave a quiet , scoffing snicker barely audible,but clearly mocking."You better quit the pretence father ...you and I and everyone around here know how much you hate me ,but I promise you...once I dive deeper and find your darkest secret I'm not going to let it slide."His voice held a quiet authority, bold and deliberate, matched only by the chill in his eyes that made it hard to look away.
Xavier,for the first time in his life felt real fear lacing through him.
Dark raised his brows,staring at his father with confidence."With all due respect father what punishment awaits us for defying you? Cause I can't see any grounds on which we must be punished."His tone still held a piece of mockery.
Xavier gulped down his saliver, frustrated,he narrowed his gaze to the guards."Let them go...you both remain."He halted the guards.
"Yes boss ."
They kept their head down expecting him to trash insults at them like he normally does,but he didn't.
"One mistake and you're out.i don't repeat myself...you know what happens to those who disappointed me... don't make me remind you."He shouted,his voice laced with fury as he spat words out like venom.
He then faced Siren."I'm placing you in charge of Dark...do not let him out of your sight and when I say do not--"His voice was low and edged with warning."I mean don't get easily fooled by his tricks."His tone was cold, dark and final.
"Yes boss." He nodded his head.
Xavier narrowed his gaze to ghost."I'm placing you in charge of Kiara..." His brows furrowed in frustration." That girl has chosen to be a thorn in my flesh,but I won't let that happen." He snapped."Dismiss!"
They bowed they head and left.
Xavier bent down and picked the stiletto he fell min ago and began toying with it, feeling it's cold steel like an old friend." Blade."
"Yes boss." He marched forward.
"Kiara has passed her limits...she mustn't go unpunished. Inform venom that he must return here asap."
"Yes boss." He matched away.
Xavier smirked."No one dares to trigger fear in the president and go scot free."

Dark pov'
Dark and Kiara walked down the corridor in silence.Their thought were filled with unsolved clues which made them confused and frustrated.
Nyla ran down the hallway towards them,tears were in her eyes. She grabbed Kiara and hugged her."I thought you were in trouble with president Xavier...where were you?" Her face and tone were filled with concern and worries.
"I..."
"She's just tired..." Dark cut in."she needs some rest. You don't need to worry about her aunt... I should get going."
Nyla gave a warm smile before facing Kiara."Where were you Kiara? Did you defie the president?"
"Mum! I'm tired.all I need is a nap and I'll tell you everything okay?"
Nyla puffed.
" I promise." Kiara held her mum hand as they went down the corridor,ghost followed behind.
Dark,on arriving at his room , dropped onto the bed with a heavy thud, landing on his back as he stared at the ceiling. Frustration glued to his chest. He dug through his jet black hair, trying to sleep and rest and mind,but to no avail.
The fragments of truth which he had uncovered,they weren't just clues,but silent torment eating away his peace. Which is why he must solve this clues before it leads him to his own demise.
He's left with just a note, a blood stained syringe, the fragile skeleton of a newborn, and the unreadable, ice-cold expression his father wore each time they crossed paths—This pieces of puzzle has soaked him in silence and fear.
*"Why would a man who hated him so fiercely go to such lengths to keep him alive?"* The question gnawed at him, dragging him into the pit so dark,not even eyes could see through it.

Xavier pov'
The room was dimly lit, creating a heavy and quiet atmosphere.
Xavier stood motionless by the window, with his eyes closed, letting the cold air brush against his skin as he sank deeper into his haunting schemes.
The soft creak and snapping of the door drew his attention.
He turned and his expression quickly changed from calm to cold.
Venom could feel the dark aura around him and he knew Xavier was filled with rage.
"I came quickly as you called boss." Venom spoke quickly,his gaze hard and wandering.
"The infusion lab which was locked and forgotten due to the beast birth has been tampered." Xavier narrowed his gaze back to the window, trying to calm his angers.
He hates to mention or think about dark.
"Tampered?"His brows furrowed in confusion."By who?"
"Who else if not the beast and the little snake... Kiara." Xavier finally turned to look at venom,his tone cold and dark.
Venom gaze now turned dark."They must have seen the skeleton."
"What skeleton?"Xavier snapped.
"I was planning on experimenting on it,but after the birth of your son..."
"Shut up!" Xavier snapped,his eyes burning with fury."Don't you dare call that beast my son."
"I'm sorry boss... I'll dispose the skeleton right away." He quickly turned to leave."
"Stop!"
Venom turned.
"You still haven't figured out a way I could be free from this demise."
"No... I'm still working on it."
"Eighteen years now and you're still working on it!" He scowled."Get out!"
Venom bowed his head and made to leave,but stopped, without turning his head he spoke."I don't think Dark knows he's your weak point. It's best you ask him what he knows...and I think he should go to college.he doesn't have to be here or things might gets really complicated.
With this words said he left.
Xavier anger seemed to calm down as he sat on his bed, burying his face in his palms.

Nyla pov'
Kiara sat on the bed, folding her legs and staring at her mum movements.
"What is it?"Nyla stopped cleaning and turned to look at her." You mentioned you were tired and need some rest ... I'm not stopping that."
"How can I sleep when I have questions gnawing my mind?"
Nyla went over to sit by her side on the bed." And what are these questions disturbing my baby sleep?" She held her hands softly.
Kiara looked at her mum in the eyes."How did we end up here mother? No.how did you end up here?"
Nyla grip on Kiara hand tightened, not harshly,but calm . "Kiara..."
"No mother."Kiara refused to stop,the pain in her gaze really visible."I don't understand why we should be locked here obeying president Xavier like...like slaves..."
"Stop it Kiara!" She scowled,then sighed."These are questions that deserves no answer and we are not slaves ... at least we fees,move around except places we shouldn't be."
"Who was my father?"
The question struck her like bomb. She released her and stood. She never expected her daughter to ask the question now after a long time.
"Who was my father mum. At least I had a father...what happened to him? Or is this question also not meant to be answered?"
"Your father was killed by president Xavier."
Nyla quickly answered , letting her tears flow freely down her eyes.
Kiara gasped.*" Is president Xavier that much of a monster?"*
Nyla continued, facing her back to her."For two years I and your father had been In a secret relationship without president Xavier knowing."
"Why should he know?"Her face twisted in disgust.
"Because your father was his guard."
Kiara gasped as her brows furrowed in surprise.
"I had never seen or heard of a guard kind and caring as your father..." Nyla swallowed. It isn't going to be easy for her to say the story cause she had vowed to move on and not let her past disrupt her life which she's managing to build.
"While I was out in the field... I got shot on my leg due to a fight which ensued someplace close to the field,but he saved me. He took care of me...if I had known he was a guard before I became pregnant for you I would have ended ...the relationship. He really hid our affair from president Xavier for so long. He didn't even tell me he was working for president Xavier. The day he finally did was when I told him I was pregnant for his child. Then he mentioned that we'll elope far away,but...when he left he never...he never returned and I thought ...when he mentioned we were going to elope he was talking about himself...I felt devastated and heartbroken,but I moved on..."
Tears were already falling down Kiara eyes.
Nyla wiped off her tears, sniffed and continued."I'm the curse Kiara." Nyla finally turned to face Kiara.
"No mum. You aren't." Kiara got down from the bed.
"No Kiara ."Her voice came out more like a whisper."You don't understand...if I had ended our relationship we'll not be suffering..."
Kiara quickly covered her mouth with her right hand,with her left hand she wiped off her tears."Don't blame yourself mum. It's the past now... father might not be alive, but I'm here... I'm alive and I love you so much."
She drew her mum into a warm embrace, silently comforting as they both cried on each shoulders.

Xavier pov'
Dark got into his father room and met his father drinking while sitted in an obsidian seat.
"You requested my presence." His voice was dry, emotionless and tight with disdain.
"I don't request. I order!" Xavier snapped.
Dark puffed and rolled his eyes."Whatever... Why did you waste your precious time just to see me-- Mr father."Dark scorned.
"It's a good thing you know how I value my time ..." Xavier dropped the glass on the table and narrowed his gaze at his son."And it's can't be wasted on a beast-- in a human form."
Dark clenched his fists in rage and bit his lips till blood erupted.
Xavier felt the liquid substance on his lips and he quickly covered it with his fingers.
" Can you stop hurting yourself?"
Dark didn't notice,he was angry enough to notice the blood stained lips.
"And why should you care!"
Xavier stylishly covered his lips with his fingers as he spoke." Look... I didn't call you hear to start a fight,but to hear from you."
Dark sniffed, calming down a bit." What is it that you want to hear?"
"Why did you mention on killing yourself if I harmed Kiara?"
Dark gave out a dry laugh."You want answers...so you could twist and use against me.
Xavier stared at his dark with a tense,unreadable gaze.
Dark continued."But...if you insist on knowing why I mentioned that ,you'll have to answer why you were scared. Cause I know the gravity of how much you hate me."
Xavier gritted his teeth silently and sighed."Of course I hate you. Infact I rather have my both eyes gorged out than to accept you as my son."
Dark rolled his eyes. After all he's used to his father hurtful words.
Joy filled Xavier heart as an answer which is a lie came to his mind. "I was scared because I thought you had fallen in love with Kiara."
"Uh?" His face twisted in disgust at the mention of love
Xavier continued."You were so bent on protecting her I had to think you were in love.And you should know how much I hate you enough to have you fall in love and live happily ever after."
"Stop it! " He snapped. He can't even imagine loving someone. It's feels like a disease." You're lying! You just can't admit that you were scared that I'll kill myself because you're keeping me for an experiment just like that skeleton baby I saw."
Xavier felt speechless for a min as he sifted through dark statement,then a smile escaped his lips.*" He doesn't know." Then he remembered what venom told him.
*"I think it's best he goes to college.he doesn't have to be here or things might get more complicated."*
"Hello." Dark waved his hand at his face.
Xavier raised his head at him.
"Are you done day dreaming?"Dark spoke scornfully.
Xavier stood from his seat and smiled."Don't you think it's best we pay my elder brother a visit?"
