Kurumi gracefully curtsies, welcoming Shidou to her "castle." Shidou, noting the ominous "shadow" around, quips it's too dangerous for a castle. Kurumi laughs, snapping her fingers to dispel the shadow, surprising Shidou with her compliance.
"You didn't listen just because I said so," Shidou says.
Kurumi giggles, admitting the "castle" wasn't suitable for their "guest." Mana, in white gear, descends, interrupting. Kurumi leaps back elegantly, a scene eerily familiar to Shidou. Mana, concerned for Shidou, mirrors past encounters. As Shidou tries to stop them, Kurumi and Mana clash with words and blades.
Mana's threat to kill Kurumi wipes the latter's smile away, her aura chilling. Kurumi declares she has something she won't yield, summoning her Angel, Zafkiel, a giant clock with two ornate guns. Loading Aleph, she shoots herself, vanishing and reappearing to knock Mana aside with blinding speed.
Mana counters, their weapons clashing, but Kurumi's enhanced speed overpowers her, sending her crashing. Kurumi mocks Mana's inability to keep up. Mana, using her Territory, adapts but fails to land a hit with Heh, Kurumi dodging minimally. Kurumi fires Zayin, freezing Mana in time, then shoots and kicks her, leaving her bloodied and defeated.
Tohka and Origami arrive, weapons drawn, but Kurumi's countless clones emerge from her shadow—past versions of herself. They overwhelm Mana, Tohka, and Origami instantly, leaving Shidou alone with Kurumi.
Kurumi challenges Shidou's resolve to "save" her, the "worst" Spirit. Shidou vows to save her, unshaken by her sins. He reveals her lie: she never killed, only incapacitated, sparing lives intentionally. Kurumi admits to stealing "time"—lifespan—via her City of Devouring Time, a cruelty worse than death, built on countless lives taken at her origin.
Shidou insists her hesitation proves she's not irredeemable. He confesses his love, listing everything he adores about her. Kurumi, flustered, denies it, her composure crumbling. Shidou offers to bear her sins with her, but she refuses, driven by her mission to save "that person." A spacequake alarm blares—Kurumi plans to shed her "weakness."
Shidou charges to stop her self-destructive act, but Kotori, his sister, descends in flames, wielding Camael. She confronts Kurumi for rejecting Shidou's confession, igniting their "war date."
