Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: It Says, It's Going In!

"Zāwù, let me show you my big baby!"

Appearing out of nowhere like an Aeon, Stelle suddenly popped up behind Zāwù.

Zāwù couldn't help but ask curiously. "What big ba—"

Before he could finish, Stelle suddenly pulled out a baseball bat from under her skirt! It was carved with countless mysterious runes, and as the girl's power was injected into it, it began to glow with a bright, crystal-like light!

—Wait, where did you pull that out from!?

Zāwù's pupils quaked.

Big Sis Stelle is really... Zāwù blushed, not knowing how to describe it.

But Stelle showed no restraint at all. She hugged her baseball bat, unable to part with it, and showed it off proudly to Zāwù.

"How about it, is Big Sis's big? Is it thick!?"

"..."

"Hey! What kind of shameless words are you saying in front of Zāwù!?"

—"Thwack!"

It was Silver Wolf, jumping up to smack Stelle on the head. A good sound means a good head.

"Ow, that hurts!"

"What's it to you... shorty," Stelle grumbled.

Silver Wolf was furious. "Who are you calling shorty!?"

"Believe it or not, I can make you taller folk shorter than a shorty!"

And don't doubt it, Silver Wolf probably really did have that ability. She could use her Aether Editing to make the ground beneath Stelle's feet suddenly disappear, getting her stuck. Or get her stuck in a wall, with only her butt showing. At that point, Silver Wolf could pull out a belt and teach this kid who didn't know her place a good lesson, making up for the lack of spankings in her childhood.

Fortunately, the gentle Zāwù stepped between the two girls, acting as a peacemaker.

"Alright, alright, Big Sis Stelle is just happy because she got a cool new weapon."

"And I don't feel offended or anything."

"But thank you anyway, Big Sis Silver Wolf."

Hearing Zāwù's words, Silver Wolf's anger gradually subsided, and her gaze softened considerably. But she still reminded Zāwù.

"Don't you be too honest either, or you'll get bullied out there and not even know it."

"The universe is full of bad women who eat little boys and don't even spit out the bones!"

Originally, Silver Wolf wanted to say that "Kafka" was one of them. But it was obvious that such divisive words would probably have no effect on the relationship between Zāwù and Kafka, so she gave up.

March 7th and Dan Heng also came over at this time, their expressions a mix of panic and alarm.

"By the way, did you guys hear something?"

"A thump-thump! thump-thump! sound." March 7th shrank her neck. The sound clearly gave her the creeps. Dan Heng, on the other hand, tightened his grip on his spear, Cloud-Piercer, clearly ready for battle at any moment.

Hearing this, Zāwù closed his eyes and, with a deep breath, gradually calmed his mind. The boy, using the method Blade had taught him, let his five senses become extended tentacles, sensing everything in the area. This was one of the most important instincts in battle, and it was what Blade admired most about Zāwù. Because Blade believed that Zāwù possessed an acuity far beyond any other warrior. But it seemed that very few people realized that behind Zāwù's acuity was the fact that he was silently enduring pain a hundred times more intense than an ordinary person's due to his hypersensitivity. A normal breeze was like a gale to him, and gentle sunlight felt like a scorching summer. It was just that Zāwù never showed it.

Suddenly, Zāwù opened his eyes again.

"Two o'clock direction, about a hundred meters away. It's a big one among the Voidrangers!"

"Its shape is like a centaur. I can hear the rhythm of its iron hooves and its hoarse, terrifying neigh."

Hearing this, Silver Wolf immediately made a judgment. "Voidranger: Trampler."

"A product of the Antimatter Legion using the 'Forge of War' to fuse fragments of warriors and ancient beasts. A disgusting chimera."

"Two o'clock... isn't that the atrium!? The place we need to go!"

"We need to take the elevator there to get back to Miss Himeko."

"What do we do now?" March 7th asked, slightly apprehensive.

But Stelle swung her baseball bat without hesitation. As energy was injected into it, the bat emitted an undeniable pressure and a brilliant ice-blue light.

"It says, it's going in!"

...

Herta Space Station, Containment Section, Atrium.

The Voidranger: Trampler, a centaur-like monster that was a combination of obsidian and white armor and possessed a certain degree of intelligence, stood here, guarding the space elevator that was a necessary path through the station. It seemed to be waiting for someone's arrival. Even when a panicked space station researcher fled past not far away, its ever-growing desire for slaughter could not defy... that person's command. That person who had walked far enough on the Path of Destruction to be worthy of an audience with the Aeon of Destruction, whom the entire Antimatter Legion worshipped.

As far as the Trampler knew, under the command of the Aeon of Destruction, there were a full six other experts as strong as that person.

And so, it could only watch helplessly as that researcher fled in terror. In fact, it wasn't just it; the tens of thousands of Voidrangers throughout the Herta Space Station were the same. They swarmed every corner of the station like locusts. Yet, facing the living humans and life around them, they did not show their usual loss of reason and sole focus on slaughter and destruction. Instead, they seemed to be searching for something.

Or rather... searching for someone?

They would only instinctively retaliate if attacked first. Otherwise, these Voidrangers, whether intelligent or not, were resolutely carrying out the supreme command issued by that person.

Preparing to welcome their own moment of glorious destruction! The so-called "Destruction" and "Destruction" also had their own hierarchy and priority. Thanks to this, although the losses in the Herta Space Station were severe, they were almost all in terms of equipment and money.

In the main control room, which had not been breached by a single Voidranger, Asta, a girl with a pink side-ponytail wearing an off-the-shoulder white shirt, a magenta and white station master's coat, a purple and embroidered black skirt, and butterfly bows on her chest and leg garter, looked at the damage reports submitted by the investigation researchers one by one, her expression gradually relaxing. Her name was Asta, the current Lead Researcher of the entire space station, and the client who had sent the distress call to the Astral Express crew. She was also a galaxy-class young lady who was approachable by the billions and had billions to spare. A single casual sentence from her could leave a passing researcher dumbfounded.

For example...

"Is that all we lost? That's not even enough to buy me a pair of stockings."

"Woof!" Peppy wagged his tail, letting out a bark of unknown meaning.

"Oh, right. And it's not enough to buy Peppy a month's worth of interstellar dog food."

Himeko coughed appropriately, hoping Miss Asta would restrain herself a little. Her crew members were currently dealing with the trouble caused by a large number of Voidrangers. And now she finds out that the money she earned from this commission was probably about the same as this cute little dog's monthly expenses.

Come on, it's hard not to have a mental breakdown over this!
