Reaching the room Cole was in, Matthew paused to sigh. Cole was the son of the city lord it's not like they could take actual action against him, they only brought him in to save face, so it wouldn't seem like they were useless, even if they actually were, but that was only in the case of the city head, if anyone else tried that, they'd be cooked.
Matthew straightened his clothes while walking in.
"Good day Cole" , Matthew greeted before putting the recorder on the table
"The name's Matthew" he said sitting down
but before he could continue he received a message from the superintendent saying the commissioner had called for the release of Kevin and Cole saying he would release a letter of apology the next day.
Matthew knew how these worked, the letter of apology would be aired to promote a false sense of transparency to the people, it was annoying how the police, an independent force, would suck up to the city head, terrible people, but deep down he knew it was jealousy, the power to do what you want irrespective of the consequences, who wouldn't want that.
"Mr Cole, you are free to go, but I will warn you to abstain from breaking the rules next time" Matthew said standing up to pack and leave.
"I'm sorry Mr Matthew, it was a honest mistake, it won't happen again" Cole said standing up before proceeding to give a slight bow to show sincerity.
Matthew stood with an eyebrow raised before moving letting a smile appear on his face. that wasn't the reaction he expected from a bloody rich kid that had a dad as the city head, they were supposed to be arrogant, either way he was pleased with it.
"Alright kid get outta here" Matthew said before leaving the room, on getting out of the room, Cole met Kevin standing right outside waiting for him.
"did anything happen on your side?" Cole asked as they headed out with a police officer in front of them leading the way,
"Just some questions, nothing much" Kevin said stretching his hand above his head and yawning.
"What about you" Kevin asked,
"Nothing, my dad called before we could start"
"So we've missed the entrance exam?" Kevin asked.
"Well not really, he had explained to the academy head and reserved our exams, we are heading there now."
Kevin smiled, these were certainly the perks of being friends wit a powerful person.
Kevin had Brown hair with brown eyes while Cole's hair was blonde with blue eyes they were both 5'6, being 15 years old each, they were quite tall for their age.
On getting out, they were met with Jared, Kevin's driver, this time, he was the one that was going to take them to the academy.
On getting there they were led to the examination hall, on getting there, they met three people, obviously they were late, well, not like it matters.
Three hours later they were in Cole's house.
"you just had to get involved didn't you" Kevin said slouching down on the couch.
"Dude, you still on this? I said sorry, besides, we didn't miss the exams"
Kevin just stared at him
"look, I know you are wondering what got into me but I just had to help, who knows what she would had done without that money, she looked like she was struggling"
"there are millions of people, women, who live of their pay check, many get raped at killed, many get abused and many have their source of livelihood stolen from them, now are you gonna run around playing batman?
Cole, do what actually matters, things like these don't matter.
