Listening to the conversation between Ye Chen and Xiao Ding, Qing Lin lowered her head, her mind a whirl of confusion.

The door creaked shut. When Qing Lin turned around, she caught the faint glint in Ye Chen's gaze and immediately lowered her head again, her hands fidgeting nervously. She looked so small and timid, like a frightened rabbit.
That sight stirred a trace of tenderness in Ye Chen's heart.
After a moment of silence, Qing Lin spoke softly, "My lord, would you like to rest now? If you wish, I can help you change."
Ye Chen nodded.
Seeing that, Qing Lin stepped closer and began to unfasten his outer robe, her soft hands trembling slightly.
Feeling her careful movements, Ye Chen allowed a faint smile to touch his lips.
When she finished arranging his robe neatly, Qing Lin lowered her head again. "My lord, if you wish to rest, I'll take my leave."
"Wait."
Her heart skipped.
