Natsui touched the two Ultra Balls gently to calm them. He continued walking into the cave with Gardevoir and Gengar.
The light inside Cerulean Cave was dim. The ground was wet and slippery, making it hard to walk. There were also underground lakes in the way. However, these problems were not difficult for Gengar and Gardevoir. Also, Natsui had traveled for a long time, so he was now more steady and fast. Normal obstacles could not stop him.
He climbed over large rocks carefully. He walked through narrow paths by holding onto bumps in the stone. When he reached the wide underground lake, he did not want his clothes to get wet. He had Gardevoir use Teleport to send him to the other side.
After walking for thirty minutes, Natsui finally reached the deepest part of the cave.
The view became wide. The narrow path ended, and there was a large round space. Crystals on the walls reflected a soft light. The area looked bright and calm.
Mewtwo was sitting on a flat rock at the back with its legs crossed.
It was still there!
It looked the same as before. However, Natsui had improved a lot, so he could feel the hidden pressure from Mewtwo this time.
Mewtwo sensed someone and slowly opened its eyes.
"I knew it was you from the moment you stepped into this cave."
Mewtwo's voice was calm. It spoke directly into Natsui's mind.
Natsui was not surprised that Mewtwo knew he was coming. His Deoxys and Rayquaza could sense Mewtwo. Of course, Mewtwo could sense him too.
"Mewtwo, it has been a long time," Natsui said with a smile. He talked like he was with an old friend. "I did not think I would see you here. I did not expect you to still hide in this place after so much time."
Mewtwo floated up and flew slowly toward Natsui.
It looked at Gardevoir and Gengar first. Then it looked at the bag on Natsui's waist.
"Your Pokémon are much stronger than the last time we met. Why did you come here today?"
After speaking, Mewtwo's energy suddenly changed. A wave of air came from under it. The wind moved Natsui's hair, and dust almost got into his eyes.
Mewtwo was acting very serious after only two sentences.
Natsui complained in his head, but he did not blame Mewtwo. If someone entered a person's home with two bodyguards and two more powerful beings on their belt, that person would be worried too.
Even so, Mewtwo spoke to Natsui first because of their past. If it were anyone else, Mewtwo would have attacked immediately. This also showed that Natsui's improvement made Mewtwo more careful.
Mewtwo remembered that the last time Natsui came, he used a Psychic-type Pokémon to test its power. Now that he was back, his goal was clear.
Natsui did not hide anything from Mewtwo. He took the two Ultra Balls from his bag.
"I have two new partners from this trip. They are very strong. They heard you are powerful and want to fight you. That is why I am here."
Natsui did this often. Every time he returned to Kanto, he tested Mewtwo to show his own strength.
Natsui's words were polite, but Mewtwo was smart. It understood the meaning. A "fight" was just a nice way to say they would battle. If Mewtwo won, it would be fine. But if Natsui won, he might try to catch Mewtwo with a Poké Ball.
However, Mewtwo was used to this. It understood its life as a Pokémon. Most importantly, it was never afraid of a challenge!
It believed it was the strongest being, even better than Mew. It did not think a few other Pokémon could defeat it.
Mewtwo did not say yes out loud, but its energy kept rising. The air around them felt heavy and solid.
It was truly Mewtwo. Even though it felt the power of Deoxys and Rayquaza Shiny, it was not afraid.
Natsui saw that it was ready for battle and pointed up.
"This place is too small. Let's go outside."
After saying that, Natsui did not wait for an answer. In a second, Gardevoir used Teleport to take him outside Cerulean Cave.
Natsui, Gardevoir, and Gengar appeared on an empty space outside the cave. They stood firmly on the ground.
Natsui had Gardevoir mark this spot before they went inside. It was easy to Teleport back here. This showed that he had planned this fight with Mewtwo for a long time.
After he appeared, Mewtwo appeared there too.
However, Natsui did not start the fight yet. He released Dragonite and sat on its back. He flew north until he reached a quiet forest lake where no people went.
Mewtwo followed Natsui the whole time. When Natsui stopped, Mewtwo stopped above the water.
"Is this the place you chose for the battle?"
"Yes," Natsui nodded. He looked around. "If we fight here, nobody will find us. Even if there is a big noise and people come later, they will not find your cave because we are far away. It also will not destroy the plants. I thought about everything."
Natsui looked proud, but Mewtwo did not care. From the time it was created, trouble always followed it. It did not care what humans thought. It was always cold and serious.
Under Mewtwo's gaze, Natsui took out his two Ultra Balls.
He moved them in his hand but did not throw them both. He threw the Ultra Ball for Rayquaza Shiny first. He wanted to see how it would do against Mewtwo.
The sky became covered with dark clouds. It looked like the bottom of a black pot. In a moment, the whole lake area went dark. The wind began to blow.
Rayquaza Shiny changed the weather before it even appeared. Its style was very impressive.
The Ultra Ball opened with a blue light. Rayquaza Shiny appeared with a loud bolt of lightning. It let out a roar and moved its body into the clouds.
Mewtwo floated in the air and watched Rayquaza Shiny enter the clouds. It watched as Rayquaza Shiny came back down to look at it.
One was large and one was small.
Rayquaza Shiny showed the aura of a boss. Floating there was enough to scare people. Mewtwo also had amazing energy. Its silver body was very bright in the dark weather.
However, Mewtwo only looked small compared to Rayquaza Shiny. Mewtwo was two meters tall, which is taller than most men.
The two Pokémon looked at each other. Rayquaza was careful, but Mewtwo remained calm.
"I have seen this Pokémon in the sky before. Its name is Rayquaza. It is a Legendary Pokémon. I did not think you could catch a Pokémon like this in such a short time."
Mewtwo seemed surprised by Natsui's improvement, but its voice showed it was not worried about Rayquaza. Strength brought it confidence. Even before the fight, it believed it would win.
Natsui did not say much back. Mewtwo was arrogant, but it had the strength to be that way. Natsui also felt that Rayquaza might not be able to beat Mewtwo.
But Rayquaza was very strong too. They were both Legendary Pokémon. They had to fight to see who was better.
Natsui waved his hand. Rayquaza Shiny opened its mouth. A powerful beam of light shot toward Mewtwo!
Mewtwo looked at the energy. It used its Psychic power to make a shield. The shield blocked the attack.
Boom...
The beam hit the shield and disappeared. It did not break the defense.
Mewtwo spoke like it did not care, but it was serious in the battle. It would not hold back. It believed it was the strongest, but it was not foolish. It used a strong Psychic barrier because it felt how powerful Rayquaza's attack was.
Natsui sat on Dragonite and watched. He shook his head and laughed.
In the whole world, Rayquaza was one of the strongest Pokémon. It was famous for its attacks. Very few Pokémon could beat it. No Pokémon could ignore its power.
If Mewtwo was not careful, it would lose. But Mewtwo was smart and experienced. It acted tough but fought with caution. It did not give Rayquaza any easy chances.
Also, Mewtwo's own attacks were very dangerous. They were almost as strong as Rayquaza's attacks. Mewtwo was much faster than Rayquaza, so Rayquaza had to be very careful.
The two Pokémon were now fighting officially. The battle became very intense.
Natsui could hardly see Mewtwo's movements. He only saw a silver light moving around Rayquaza Shiny. Rayquaza Shiny kept twisting its body to fight back.
They used many moves without stopping. Natsui knew some of the moves, but he did not know others.
As the fight got faster, moves hit the water. Explosions happened on the lake. The forest began to shake.
Natsui touched Dragonite. Dragonite understood and flew further away from the fight. The energy from the explosions still made Dragonite work hard to stay balanced. Natsui had to move even further back.
Now, he was just watching the battle. He did not give any orders. He let Rayquaza fight on its own. In a battle at this level, there was not much a Trainer could do. The Pokémon had to rely on their own skills.
This was also Mewtwo's first time fighting a Pokémon this strong. It had to learn how to use its full power against such an opponent.
The wind and clouds moved wildly. The weather became extreme. The dark clouds got thicker. With a loud thunder sound, heavy rain started to fall in that area.
Natsui was far away, so he did not get wet. He watched the battle calmly. He thought about the two Pokémon.
They were truly some of the strongest in the world. Their fight changed the weather and the land. Many wild Pokémon ran away.
But they still had weaknesses. From a Trainer's view, Rayquaza and Mewtwo were still like wild Pokémon. They used their great power based on instinct. They did not have an organized system for fighting. They looked fierce, but they wasted a lot of energy.
This is why wild Pokémon often lose to a Trainer's Pokémon of the same level.
If Mewtwo and Rayquaza learned to work with a Trainer, they would be much stronger.
But for now, they had a long way to go. Natsui had not caught Mewtwo yet. Even Rayquaza Shiny was still learning to follow his commands.
