Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 of Hearts in the village

CHAPTER 3 – Festival Fiasco

The Iludun Annual Festival was the highlight of the year music, food, dancing, and enough jollof rice to feed a small army. Everyone was buzzing, including Ayo, who was still trying to figure out how to handle Amara's sharp tongue.

Amara, in full city mode, strutted around like she owned the village, snapping selfies and complaining about "the primitive vibe." She even demanded a generator for her phone charging, which got the elders whispering and eyebrows raising.

Ifedayo, calm but fierce, was helping her mother prepare traditional dishes. She watched Amara with quiet suspicion. She knew that new people in Iludun always stirred the pot sometimes, too much.

Ayo tried to be friendly, offering Amara a taste of his mom's famous pepper soup. She took one sip, scrunched her nose, and said, "Is this soup or a spicy test?"

That evening, as the festival lights twinkled and drums beat, the three found themselves unexpectedly together.

Amara challenged Ifedayo to a dance-off, mocking her "slow village moves." Ifedayo smiled, eyes sparkling. The dance started slow but soon turned fierce and funny Ayo laughed so hard, he almost dropped his radio.

The crowd cheered, forgetting all about the differences between city and village. But in the back of their minds, each knew this festival was just the beginning of a very tangled story.
