This move had become something of a meme—As long as I don't say the name, you won't know whether it's a basic attack or my ultimate.
Dracule Mihawk's strength had always been a mystery, and as the story progressed...
Even though he appeared early on, this guy's "stock value" just kept rising!
Many of the Shichibukai had become known as "fraudulent Shichibukai."
But Mihawk…
As long as he didn't make a move or leave behind any concrete feats, no one could figure out his limits.
And he wasn't some poser like KING from One Punch Man either.
This guy… was the real deal!
Klein immediately chose to swap Mihawk back in. First off, Golden Lion Shiki's dual-wielding sword style seemed to only shine when paired with his Float-Float Fruit. That synergy mattered.
Second—just having more swords doesn't make you stronger.
Dual-wielding isn't all that cool.
Third: "No one knows how much of my true strength I'm using… Even I don't know how deep my swordplay goes!"
In the original series, the most famous dual wielders were Oden and Flower Sword Vista—honestly, dual blades kind of cheapened the vibe.
After making the swap, Klein also replaced Kyros, who had been mentoring "Black Wukong," and slotted in Golden Lion Shiki instead.
Going forward, it looked like he was about to end up with...
A dual-wielding baboon!!
Though to be fair, the original had a three-sword-style baboon too. That was pretty hilarious.
Roronoa Baboon-zoro.
"Let Black Wukong finish learning Golden Lion Shiki's skills first. Once his 'Slash Wave' gets upgraded, I'll switch in a different mentor."
Returning to the main screen, Klein opened his inventory and immediately used a "Pirate Ship Upgrade Bundle."
All the materials were thrown into upgrading his pirate ship—boosting the overall stats of the Kuja Pirates and increasing training multipliers and more.
There was also a [Character Advancement Scroll] in his inventory.
This item hadn't shown up before at all.
Klein tapped "Use."
A prompt popped up on screen:
[Imu's Dad has successfully advanced in star rank!][Current Star Level: 1][Imu's Dad★][+1 to all base growth stats][...]
This clear and direct display—so familiar!
So my character just ranked up?
Before Klein could explore the new feature, the game's feedback kicked in immediately.
In an instant—
Lying on the bed, he felt like his body was undergoing violent reconstruction.
Bones, muscles, organs—all strengthening.
He turned pale from the pain, breaking into a cold sweat, clenching his jaw to keep from making a single sound.
Terrified he'd wake up Garp and the others in the dorm.
It huuurts!
This wasn't some deep-tissue massage pain—his whole body felt like it was evolving.
Bone density, organ function...
Every tendon felt like it was being stretched.
His whole body spasmed under the covers, terrified of making any noise.
The whole process lasted several minutes.
Soaked in sweat, Klein felt heavier—denser bones, tighter muscles, bursting with explosive strength.
He knew: this was the result of ranking up.
He got up quietly. The sky outside the balcony was gray—almost dawn.
Must've been around 5 or 6 AM.
Unknowingly, he had played all night.
In the bathroom—
Klein turned on the shower to cold water, checking himself out in the mirror. Chest, abs, shark muscles, traps, scalene muscles—all more defined, more sculpted, greater volume and power.
"…Seems like…"
"I got taller?" Klein blinked in surprise as he noticed his perspective was slightly higher than usual.
He was sure it wasn't just his imagination. After all…
In the dorm, he was the shortest of the four. The others were like Yao Ming from his point of view. He definitely cared about his height.
Now he was probably around 190 cm.
A few centimeters taller.
Instinctively, he glanced down.
Apparently… that part had grown too.
But the "good gun" didn't have a battlefield at the moment.
"Didn't expect such a huge physical feedback from the rank-up… and this might not even be everything," Klein muttered, pleased.
This game update?
Sure, he spent a lot of money—but it felt worth it!
That's what it should be like!
If I spend money in a game, I should get a huge power boost!
Honestly, who knows what those previous "dogshit devs" were thinking—not giving paying players a better experience was just bad design!
I'm happy when I get strong after spending money, okay?!
That just makes me want to earn more to spend more!
After showering, he flopped back onto bed. No point in sleeping now—dawn was coming.
Might as well pull an all-nighter!
"Genshin Impact, Start!"
With a ride-or-die spirit, he re-entered the game and started exploring the new character advancement system.
Ranking up characters normally required massive gold and special materials.
You could get materials from weekly dungeons or events.
Of course—
If you wanted to rank up early, you'd have to buy mats from the shop—but even then, not all materials were available.
Not easy at all. So Klein put it on hold and instead opened his rewards from the Grand Line Pass.
Random Devil Fruit Box.
So far, the only fruit he had was the Paramecia-type Chop-Chop Fruit, with one Devil Fruit slot still empty.
"Nice. With so many Devil Fruits, as long as it's not complete trash, I can probably make it work and boost my strength."
Klein had imagined owning all kinds of Devil Fruit powers—Mythical Zoans, Logia-types, the Tremor-Tremor Fruit…
But for the first 18 years…
That was all just a dream.
Only after awakening his system did he finally experience what it was like to be a Devil Fruit user. And more importantly—
Because of how the game worked, Klein could freely swap between different powers.
Which was…
Nice!!
To him, this mechanic was the most generous, satisfying part of the game.
Only true ability users know this joy!
So many people dream of having powers—books, movies, especially in the West. Superpower content everywhere.
Most famously—Marvel.
Klein started mumbling to himself, "Sky spirits, earth spirits… please let it be a Mythical Zoan! Logia would be fine too! If it's Paramecia, let it be the Tremor-Tremor Fruit!"
Click!
[Congratulations! You've obtained: Paramecia-Type – Inspire-Inspire Fruit!]Revolutionary Army – East Army Commander: Belo Betty!
Belo Betty
Klein remembered her not just because of her Devil Fruit, but also because…
She doesn't wear a bra!!
And her shirt? Not even buttoned—just wide open, radiating one word: Freedom!
A better term? Broad-minded.
Still, Klein couldn't quite celebrate. "The Inspire-Inspire Fruit is basically a support-type Devil Fruit…"
"I've heard of light-based supports, but never a hype-woman as a main DPS."
The Inspire-Inspire Fruit could transmit emotional waves through shouting and waving flags, inspiring people nearby.
It helped them overcome fear and unlock their full potential—temporarily giving them power beyond their normal limits.
Great in team fights.
The ace in a team clash?
"Looks like I used up all my luck on the first three boxes…" Klein sighed, a little disappointed that he didn't draw a powerhouse fruit.
Still, this one had its uses.
Maybe… it could be used for sales?
Should work, right?
Even among Paramecia...
A Teleport-Teleport Fruit wouldn't be bad either. That one activated silently.
No visible signs of power use.
Harder to detect.
Perfect for being a sneaky little rat.
But… teleporting didn't have much flair. The Mythical Zoans and Logia-types definitely had more swagger.
Klein opened his inventory again—one final reward remained:
Skill Upgrade Scroll!
