"You thought I was human, so you could resist me?"His breath burned against her skin."Su Sheng… what you provoked—isn't a man. It's me."
She was pinned against the wooden bed, the coolness of the sheets beneath her back a cruel contrast to the heat of the raptor above her.
His wings were fully spread now, glowing gold and wild. The entire cabin was bathed in that blazing light, like a shrine, or a battlefield.
Yu's breath came in low, hungry gasps. Power and desire swirled around him like a storm barely contained.
"Let me go—" she gritted out, struggling."I thought you said you were injured!"
He laughed softly—low and burning, like fire catching at feathers.
"You fed me medicine. You dressed my wounds. You touched me inch by inch. And you really thought I was hurt?"
She froze.
His voice sharpened—cutting through her silence.
"You knew. You just didn't say it.Because you couldn't bear to stop."
"Liar!" she snapped, trying to shove him off. Her nails grazed his tunic—but he caught her wrists, pressing them above her head.
He leaned down, nose brushing her cheek, voice dark and soft as the sky before a thunderstorm:
"Then look me in the eyes… and tell me you don't want me."
Her lashes trembled.
But her lips stayed shut.
"See?" he whispered. "You can't lie."
Then he kissed her.
It started gentle—almost like asking. But deepened fast. His tongue pushed past her lips, claiming, coaxing, conquering.
By the time she could think again, her entire body had gone weak beneath him.
She bit him.
Hard.
He flinched—his brow twitching—But instead of pulling away, he groaned low in his throat, wings slamming the ceiling overhead with a sharp crack, dust cascading around them like ash from a fire.
"Did that hurt?" she whispered, breath shaky.
He licked the blood from his lip.Eyes glowing—bright gold, slightly mad.
"No.It just made me want to eat you more."
"Beast!" she hissed.
He smirked. "I've told you. I am a beast."
And then he sank his teeth into her neck—not breaking skin, but marking. His tongue curled at her collarbone, leaving a red trace like a flame had kissed her.
"What are you doing?!" she gasped.
"Marking you," he growled. "I've waited long enough."
She struggled again."Yu—if you dare force me, I swear I will—"
But he pressed close, lips at her ear, voice dropping into something not human. It came with a vibration—a winged resonance, the sound of wind crashing down from a great height. It made her heart skip a beat.
"You think you can still run?"
"You thought you were hunting the eagle?""No, Su Sheng—I've been hunting you from the very start."
He raised his hand—his wings folded inward, glowing and slow—encircling her.
Now, there was only heat.Breath.And no escape.
"I'll take my time," he murmured, biting her earlobe."It won't hurt."
"You… you beast…" she choked out, voice trembling now.
He chuckled, low and dark.
"Then be good for me."
"And I won't bite too hard."
