As the three continued forward into the castle, Mike stopped for a moment."Alright, I'm gonna check something, okay?"Stats... hmm?Mike clicked on the stats, and the stats appeared
HP: 500 Strength: 5 Endurance: 5 Magic: 3 Sword: 6
"I can add 3 points… oh? What's that? Unlocks at level 10? Okay, well... I'll add +2 to sword," Mike said.
When he confirmed it, Sword 6 turned into Sword 8, and he added 1 point to endurance — Endurance 5 became Endurance 6.
Final stats: Sword 8, Endurance 6."Alright, that should be a good investment for now.Now I don't just deal more damage, I also have more endurance!" Mike shouted I'm back!"
Mike caught up with the other two boys. They were standing at the entrance of the castle tower."Alright, this is where we'll find the creature we need to kill," said Rio.
Dave and Mike nodded in agreement and entered.The ground rumbled for a moment, as if the castle itself was moving — but it wasn't. The cause was the quest:
Quest: Survive 5 WavesWave 1
The door slammed shut behind the three. In front of them stood about 20 unarmed goblins. They charged at Dave, Mike, and Rio.
Rio shouted, "I've got an idea! The stats say we have magic, right?""Yeah, the game has magic — fireballs, lightning, all sorts of stuff!"
"Dave!" Mike yelled. Dave looked up and nodded."Yeah, that's it!""Huh? I didn't say anything—""No, but I should cast Water Arrows!"
Dave raised his bow — no arrows yet. He closed his eyes and focused.He couldn't see how many goblins were running at him, but his bow began to glow, and automatically loaded with five arrows.
All five fired at once into the crowd. Several goblins were pushed back, and at least two were pierced through and turned to ash.But it wasn't enough.
"Again!" Rio shouted.Dave focused again — this time, three magic arrows, but they fired faster and hit just as many.
The rest of the goblins were dealt with by Rio and Mike.No problem.
Dave and Rio both reached level 2, while Mike reached level 3 — but there was no time to level up, because:
Wave 2 began.Two fat goblins appeared.
The three got into position, but Dave collapsed."Guys… that magic drained too much out of me, I—"Dave crawled back to the door and rested his head against it."I'm gonna rest a bit, yeah?"
"Not now!" Mike said urgently, but Dave had already fallen asleep."Huh… so you can sleep here..." Mike whispered.
He turned to Rio, who nodded — sword in his right hand, shield in his left.Then Mike looked at the two fat goblins.
"Okay, Rio… they look strong, but if I beat one at level 1, we can handle this at level 2 and 3, right?"
Mike smiled and ran forward.Rio followed, charging at the left fat goblin.
They both carried axes.Rio faced off with his goblin, who swung its axe down. It hit Rio's shield — and shattered it.
The blow broke Rio's stance, and he staggered.The goblin used the moment to swing from the side.
Rio was hit directly — the impact cracked his armor, and he flew into a stone wall, spitting blood.He dropped his sword.
The goblin got closer.Rio lay on the ground, unable to move.
The fat goblin laughed and raised his axe.Suddenly — the axe fell to the right, just missing Rio.
A silver sword had pierced the fat goblin and cut it open.It turned to ash. Mike appeared.
"Good thing I killed mine quickly… otherwise…""Yeah," Rio smiled.
Mike offered his hand.Rio smiled and said, "Thanks, Mike…"He stood with Mike's help but staggered. Blood still came from his mouth. His armor was cracked and full of holes.
"Rio, how much HP do you have left?""200.""Wow. That was really close… 500 HP isn't much if it drops that fast."
A message appeared on the ceiling:
Wave 3 begins in 5 minutes.
The room was already wrecked.Broken chairs, holes in the wall.
"Three more waves… Rio, do you think—"Rio had fallen asleep standing up.
"W-what?! I have to do this alone…?""I hope sleeping regenerates health…"
Mike picked up Rio — who was lighter now because parts of his armor had fallen off.He laid him down next to the sleeping Dave.
He picked up Rio's sword."Now I've got two swords — double the chance!" Mike shouted.
He stood ready and saw the incoming goblins — about 40 of them, and all armed!
Mike took a deep breath, probably looked one last time at Dave and Rio, then turned his gaze to the charging goblin horde. All of them held a dagger in their hands.Here I die, then.
Dave opened one eye."No, Mike! Magic! Think about magic!""Right, magic can help me," Mike said.
Mike concentrated, and his silver sword began to glow black.A black aura surrounded the sword and Mike's right arm.Good, I won't die after all.
Mike ran at them, decapitating and slicing one goblin after the other.A few had already managed to stab their daggers into Mike's back.Mike turned around and sprinted forward, decapitating all of them.
He turned again and threw Rio's sword into the horde, dragging many goblins to their deaths as the sword pierced through many.
Mike swayed back and forth. Seven daggers were stuck in his back.

Mike laughed and spat blood."30 HP, that's not going to cut it. There are still at least 14 goblins left."
Mike had a smile on his face."Well, my life was so bad anyway…"
Then Mike burst out laughing. But his left eye began to flicker red.Then the flicker in his left eye disappeared and moved to the right.His right eye ignited — full of power — real fire.
Mike's blood felt boiling hot, and his muscles grew.Suddenly, Mike had such a rage, such a hatred for the goblins.
Mike dashed lightning-fast behind five goblins and sliced all of them in half with one strike.
Mike threw his silver sword into another group of five goblins, who were all standing in a line.The impact of the silver sword was so strong that all the goblins died.
Only 4 left.
Mike was lightning-fast again with the next two.He kicked one in the hip and then kicked him again, crashing him into the other goblin.Both dead.
Only two goblins left.
Mike picked up his sword and sprinted toward the last two goblins.He spun his sword — both goblins lost their heads and turned to ash.
-HP 30-
Mike exhaled.His right eye turned blue again, and Mike fell to his knees, then to the ground.He could only read:"Wave 4 begins in 5 minutes."
Mike closed his eyes."I gave everything. I can't go on…"
But then Mike was grabbed by the foot.It was Dave.
"Mike, you don't look so good right now," an excited laugh came from Dave's mouth."D-Dave, there's no way you're going to survive Wave 4…"
But Dave just grinned."I know."
But a figure rose — it was Rio.Blood ran down his forehead and Rio could barely stand.
"A-Also, with me we'd have better chances... but I think it's hopeless. Look at us three!"
Mike said, "Yeah, maybe our HP is low, and Dave's magic too — but Rio, your magic! You have to use your magic, concentrate!"
"D- I-I've lost too much blood..."

"That's tight... what?"
Mike dragged himself to the door.Dave removed all the daggers, and Mike had exactly:

Luckily, it didn't drop any lower.
Wave 4 begins!
Dave got ready. He now had enough magic for a single magic shot.After that, Dave wouldn't be able to move at all.
Mike whispered,"Dave, I got it! You still have level points to spend, right? Put everything into magic!""Yes, that's it!"
Dave, right when the enemies spawned, used all his 3 points on magic, which now allowed him to launch two five-shot bursts.
Wave 4 begins —
30 goblins appeared — and 3 fat goblins, exactly the kind that Rio couldn't handle at all.But this wave was more aggressive — the goblins screamed and ran toward the two of them.
"Fire, Dave! Quick!"
