Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: The Heroic Nawaki

On the night of August 31st, Konoha Year 25, in the backyard of the Uchiha clan head's residence located in the Hidden Leaf Village of the Land of Fire.

A five-year-old boy lazily raised his head, gazing at the gently glowing moon. His medium-short hair had the back and sideburns tied into a small ponytail, with bangs casually hanging over his forehead. He had refined, soft facial features and wore the signature black "Uchiha coat." But unlike most kids his age, he lacked that innocent liveliness.

"The moon's really big tonight," he muttered, then quickly corrected himself. "Wait, no… I wonder when it'll turn red?"

The little boy was none other than our protagonist—Shen Uchiha, the youngest son of the current Uchiha clan head.

"Shen, how would the moon ever turn red?" A much taller teenage boy energetically countered while standing behind him.

The older boy looked rugged, wearing an oversized version of the same Uchiha coat. However, it was hard to see any resemblance between his sharp features and Shen's gentler face.

"Onii-san Fugaku Uchiha, the moon won't just turn red someday in the future—it even has people living on it!" Shen replied with his young, tender voice, answering his brother's question.

Fugaku already felt a headache coming on, something he'd experienced often since childhood whenever dealing with his younger brother's bizarre ideas.

Unlike ordinary childish fantasies, most of Shen's ideas could actually form coherent logic. So the Uchiha clan head and his family saw their youngest as a prodigy—someone gifted with natural wisdom from birth.

After all, this was the Naruto world, where shinobi who revered chakra knew very little about science. Hence, the precious knowledge from a certain transmigrator was seen by his family as nothing more than childish imagination.

Ten-year-old Fugaku responded based purely on memory, recalling what his younger brother used to say, "Right, right. His name is Armstrong."

"Do you know how he got there? He"

"Riding a rocket, right? Though I don't really know what a 'rocket' is, I still couldn't grasp the part about propulsion and fuel you mentioned earlier," Fugaku interrupted.

Looking smug, Shen eagerly added explanations, "That's called a propellant. It generates thrust through high-performance fuel combustion, pushing the rocket up onto the moon! Onii-san Uchiha, you just graduated from the Ninja Academy, but your memory is already so bad?"

As he rambled on about new concepts, he still made time to tease his brother about possibly having memory problems.

Fugaku impatiently shot back, "What ninja needs to remember periodic tables or physics laws anyway?"

He felt like his blood pressure was rising—a term the transmigrator once called "vascular pressure" or something like that.

At the same time, he strongly believed that having such a little brother must mean he'd somehow ruined the entire shinobi world in his past life. Otherwise, why had he never held even the slightest sense of elder-brother authority?

"I'm only trying to look after you, you poor clueless guy. You're way too young for early dementia," Shen said with a tone mimicking an adult scolding a child.

Then followed words unfamiliar to the ninja world—phrases like "Brain Gold" and "Six Nutty Smoothies."

Fugaku kept his head lowered, just like a child being scolded by his father.

Shen, now feeling smug, imitated their father's tone and expression. Looking serious, he rambled on about the techniques he used to memorize the periodic table, lecturing Fugaku as if passing down wisdom.

"Why did I have to respond to that topic about the moon? Would avoiding it have prevented this whole situation?" Fugaku appeared to be listening carefully on the outside, but inwardly, he was on the verge of breaking down.

"Wait, isn't the Ninja Academy starting tomorrow? I should properly advise my adorable little brother!" Suddenly, Fugaku stared directly at the person still summarizing lessons learned.

This sudden shift completely stunned Shen.

Seeing the rare moment of hesitation in the other, Fugaku's tone shifted slightly, mixing three parts of smugness with seven parts satisfaction as he reversed roles and started scolding back: "Shen, you're entering the Academy tomorrow, right? Do you understand how important the Ninja Academy is for a ninja? Your health has always been poor..."

Caught off guard, Shen could only think to himself, "Has my persuasive speech failed? Or did Fugaku finally wake up?"

Outwardly, he maintained an obedient appearance, employing a classic tactic he had perfected while dealing with his own father, the current head of the Uchiha clan.

He nodded frequently and skillfully, causing Fugaku—who was still lecturing—his eye corners twitched involuntarily.

"..."

Seeing his "adorable" younger brother seemingly brushing aside his words, Fugaku felt even more discouraged. After reminding him to rest well that night, he turned and left without hesitation.

"Well then, make sure to get some early rest, Fugaku. This time, you must memorize the periodic table properly—I'll test you anytime."

The moment Fugaku heard the farewell words, he quickened his pace immediately; he didn't want to walk any slower than necessary and risk being stopped by his annoying younger brother for further conversation.

If it weren't for the fact that other people's five-year-olds were already smashing bricks barehanded for fun while his own little brother always looked so frail and delicate, Fugaku would've sworn he'd given this guy a proper beating by now.

Yet, simultaneously, he truly believed that as an older brother, he needed to take good care of his younger sibling—though this certain someone had become increasingly pushy because of it.

As for someone who couldn't be beaten physically or outsmarted verbally, Fugaku sincerely felt he was the most unfortunate older brother in the entire shinobi world.

"Am I really that annoying? Can't he slow down just a bit? I still had several things left to say." At this point, Shen felt dejected, like a child who had been abandoned.

After staying put for a short while, he lifted his feet and walked toward his room.

Inside Shen Uchiha's Room

Sitting on the bed, Shen kept staring at the softly glowing white moon, trying to picture how it might look if it turned crimson with black tomoe marks.

"The Naruto world is dangerous, and I was born into the Uchiha Clan," he murmured, his voice trailing off as if unsure of what lay ahead.

After thinking in silence for a while, he finally turned his thoughts toward attending the Ninja Academy.

"The Ninja Academy... After graduation, there'll definitely be a fool determined to become Hokage, and two people constantly bickering but recognizing each other's strengths—they'll probably end up being my teammates!" Shen quickly formed ideas about the personalities of his future team members.

As for where this assumption came from, he would bet his life on it.

Shen Uchiha didn't belong to this world—at least not spiritually.

In his previous life, he was just another 996 office worker.

While charging his phone, he got a call from his boss asking him to work late into the night—and then his phone battery exploded. That's how he ended up in the Naruto world.

He blamed a counterfeit charger and came up with three key lessons:

One, never use fake chargers.

Two, don't use your phone while it's charging—especially not for calls.

Three, 996 isn't a blessing. Even if working overtime doesn't kill you in a phone explosion, it might still kill you from overwork.

When Shen opened his eyes, he saw his new-world parents and his five-year-old older brother, Fugaku Uchiha.

At first, "Fugaku" sounded familiar, but it wasn't until he realized his father was head of the Uchiha clan that he started spending nights in the backyard, staring up at the moon.

He knew Kaguya Otsutsuki—the biggest villain—was sealed inside that moon.

Did that make this behavior some kind of ancestor worship?

Also, Shen strongly felt expecting five-year-olds in the Naruto world to split bricks with their bare hands was unreasonable.

As someone raised under traditional Chinese values in his past life, accepting such superhuman physical feats was incredibly hard for him.

His family, however, interpreted it as weakness, which only made them more caring and protective.

Even mildly unusual requests were often granted. This warmth touched him deeply—especially after his former life had been ruled by the cold indifference of a 996 lifestyle.

Shen also shared scientific and physics concepts from his past life with his family. After five whole years, he truly saw them as his real family.

They never questioned where his strange theories came from, assuming instead: "Heaven may have denied him health, but gifted him extraordinary intelligence." His unusual maturity from a young age only seemed to back that up.

Truthfully, once Shen could break free from his mental barriers, his body would be able to unleash its full potential—but he kept insisting he couldn't do it.

Do you think every reincarnated soul has nerves of steel? Being scared of pain isn't shameful—it's human!

Luckily, when Shen arrived in the Naruto world, he gained unique cheat abilities: powerful computational skills, exceptional memory, and dynamic vision.

Rather than calling them "skills," it'd be more accurate to label them as functions.

He believed that since he was still on a phone call when the explosion killed him, his brain had somehow fused with his smartphone during reincarnation.

So far, his developed abilities consisted of three parts: processing power like a phone CPU, memory storage capacity, and dynamic vision similar to a camera lens.

"How can the Uchiha survive? How can I endure the Second Great Ninja War? How will we fight the Otsutsuki clan?"

These doubts burned in his heart, yet could never be spoken aloud—if anyone found out, wouldn't they dissect him like some lab experiment?

"Well… time to sleep. Even if the ninja world collapses, I must protect my family!"

Before falling asleep, Shen looked up at the moon one last time. Yet now, his gaze was clearly different from before.
