The week that brought joy to the head of the Uchiha clan's household has passed. Today, the Uchiha Commercial Street in Konoha Ninja Village officially opened, drawing over a third of Konoha's residents.
"Today is February 14th, Konoha Year 26, ten o'clock in the morning. Good morning, dear guests! I now announce the official commencement of the opening ceremony for the Uchiha Commercial Street!"
Kazushi, wearing a black suit jacket and matching coat, loudly announced into the microphone from the stage at the entrance of the commercial street.
"And now — enjoy the show! Let's hear it for our young DJ, Shen!"
Kazushi, dressed in high spirits today, let his mischievous son run wild, even though he still didn't understand what this "DJ" business was all about.
"Hey hey hey, good morning folks! Give us just a minute while our crew moves the gear onstage."
Shen had taken off his traditionally inherited Uchiha coat for once, donning instead some loose clothing. The sunglasses on his face and the giant gold chain around his neck left the audience slack-jawed.
"What's Shen up to now?"
Seated in the VIP section, Nayou frowned as she muttered under her breath.
"Nothing good, for sure!"
Beside her, Meide shot back sharply, clearly still holding a grudge against that Uchiha brat who made him look bad.
"What exactly are those things?"
Hiashi gestured toward the bulky black objects being hauled onstage and asked suspiciously.
Nayou thought for a moment before replying, "They're called subwoofers, apparently. From what Shen said, music played through these can get people really excited."
The Hyuga clan representatives were speechless in response.
Meanwhile, on the Senju Clan's side of the crowd, Nawaki leaned back with arms crossed, muttering disdainfully about the whole thing.
"Onee-chan, I'm telling you, this commercial street won't last half a year—it's bound to fail without the Senju backing it up."
"Right, right. I saw there's a casino on the promotional flyer. Tonight, I'll personally make sure this street goes bankrupt through gambling—this place was specially designed for Konoha's easy prey, according to Shen."
Tsunade was extremely fond of gambling. According to Shen, the casino was specifically designed for the Konoha scapegoats.
"Go for it, Onee-chan! I can already picture Shen Uchiha begging on the streets after this place crashes and burns!"
Leaving aside the images flashing in Nawaki's mind, our Uchiha prodigy had finished hooking up the equipment with the help of his crew and returned to the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's start the countdown!"
The background wall behind the stage transformed, displaying a large cross—this was actually an enormous projection screen. Only the Uchiha Clan's obscene wealth could have afforded such a ridiculous luxury as using a massive projector screen for Shen's DJ set during the grand opening.
"Ten!"
Only a few scattered voices echoed from the crowd.
"Nine!"
The Uchiha clan had paid handsomely for hired clappers, who now began shouting along.
"Eight!"
"Seven!"
"Six!"
By the time they reached six, more people in the crowd started cheering and yelling enthusiastically.
"Five!"
"Four!"
"Three!"
Even the Third Hokage began leading the chant energetically, finally igniting the entire atmosphere of the event.
"Two!"
"One!"
"Peng!!!"
A thunderous boom rang out, followed by bursts of colorful fireworks lighting up the sky one after another.
"Yo, what's up everybody! I'm your DJ, Shen Uchiha! Peace!"
Shen held a microphone in his left hand while raising his right high, forming a peace sign with his thumb, index finger, and pinky. Though none of the audience understood the gesture, it did nothing to dull the electric atmosphere.
[Kacha kacha]
A record scratching sound filled the air. Before the audience could react, Shen's rhythmic voice boomed out.
"Hello my lovely peeps! Got a surprise waiting for ya! Now raise those hands up high!"
Just when the sharp beat had yet to move the indifferent crowd, Shen's voice suddenly shifted to a sweet, childlike tone: "Yes, I'm Shen Uchiha — we've met before."
Then, as the rhythm picked up speed, that soft, playful tone returned: "Oh! This is great!"
With his free right hand, Shen gently twisted a knob on the console in front of him. As the tempo grew even more lively, he kicked things off with a declaration: "This here? This is some grown folks' jam!"
Deng deng deng deng deng deng deng deng deng deng...
An intense, pulsing rhythm spread outward from Commercial Street.
Down below, the Third Hokage couldn't help but admit — this guy was a true master. In just a few words, Shen had set the mood ablaze. Looking around, he noticed even the usually stoic higher-ups and clan leaders were raising their arms and swaying to the beat. "I'm the Hokage — I shouldn't be doing this," he thought confidently. But the next moment, he was stunned as a group of men in black suits and sunglasses rushed onto the stage.
"Three! Two! One! Go!"
At DJ Shen's signal, the line of suited men began stomping in unison, bobbing their heads to the rhythm. Behind them, lightning flashed across the screen in perfect sync with the beat.
Back in the crowd, Nayou's lips twitched. Just moments ago, her older brother Hiashi had actually raised his arms and started swaying. Even worse, he wasn't satisfied with just himself — he grabbed both Nayou's and Tamaki's hands and started swinging them too.
"Let's keep this party goin' all night long! Answer me loud — who am I?"
After introducing himself, Shen slammed the subwoofer switch. The entire venue exploded. The pounding bass thumped in time with the rhythm, echoing in the hearts of every spectator.
"Ahhhh! I can't take it anymore!"
In the Akimichi section, the chubby little boy Heiji jumped to his feet, mimicking the suited men on stage by stomping along to the beat.
"I can't hold back either!"
More and more people rose to their feet, joining in the stomp.
Watching the excitement build from the control panel, Shen gave a satisfied nod. He controlled the beat like he was conducting the emotions of the entire crowd.
Over in the Senju Clan section, Nawaki also began tapping his feet.
"What the hell is this? I can't even control my own legs anymore!"
"Nawaki, what are you saying? I can't hear you!"
Even Tsunade was caught up in the musical euphoria.
"Never mind, don't think so much!"
Nawaki shrugged it off and joined the crowd in the celebration.
Shen noticed the mood was just right and gradually softened the music. What? You thought it was over? No way. He was just giving them a break so they could gear up for what's coming next.
"Konoha! Konoha!"
The name blasted from the speakers as Shen chanted it repeatedly. The audience, proud of their village's name, joined in with loud cheers.
"Konoha! Konoha!"
Even the Third Hokage had thrown away all decorum. Leading the other high-ranking officials, he began screaming at the top of his lungs like everyone else.
Behind the DJ booth, Shen picked up on it right away. Grabbing the mic, he hyped up the crowd: "Let's move! Let's go!"
Cranking the volume to maximum, Shen hit the switch and started jumping on the spot along with the suit-clad giant beside him.
"Boom-boom-boom-boom!" echoed with relentless energy.
With the heavy beat of the drums, the audience eagerly jumped up and down right where they stood.
