Chapter 53 - "Demon's Embrace, Sister's Fear"

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

No… wait!

He's a demon!

That's the only explanation!

The reason my sister's been acting so weird… there's no way that's normal.

He must've used some strange trick to mess with her!

I, Yukino Yukinoshita, will absolutely find a way to break that contract, free my sister, and bring her back to the way she used to be!

With that thought, my determination flared up again, and I perked my ears to keep listening.

However…

By the end of it, the only useful bit of information I caught was that my sister called him "Andrew." The rest… was just my sister's strange… sounds.

For someone who had never experienced this kind of thing before, it was so embarrassing that I felt like steam was going to come out of my head.

And the worst part?

It took over an hour before things inside finally calmed down, and the two of them seemed to leave the room together.

I hurriedly crawled out from under the bed and slipped back into my own room.

Burying my face into the pillow, I let out a muffled groan.

"Uuugh… I can't show my face to anyone now! That damn demon! What the hell did he make me listen to?! Shameless! Pervert!"

Thus, the Second Miss Yukinoshita's first attempt at investigating the demon's identity… ended in complete failure.

And what can I even find out with just 'six-one-three' and a 'Andrew'?

Looks like I'll have to face him head-on… maybe even corner him…?

While Yukino was lying in bed, cursing a certain someone in shame, Andrew was out on the living room sofa with Haruno, enjoying a rare moment of peace.

The beautiful, fair-skinned young lady was leaning lazily against his chest, her face radiating a kind of captivating charm.

Only now did Andrew fully realize just how alluring Haruno Yukinoshita could be.

Compared to her younger sister, her figure was even more perfect, her delicate beauty impossible for any man to resist.

And Andrew, while a demon, was still very much a man.

Haruno was now his "follower."

From now on, her life would belong to him as such. Unless she died, the contract could not be broken.

Naturally, since that was the case, Andrew wasn't about to waste time.

After class, he'd sent his little angel Mahiru Shiina and Kato Megumi to work at Youko Saionji's convenience store, then came straight to Haruno's side—leading to what had just happened.

Though Yukino hiding under the bed was unexpected, it didn't stop him from making Haruno happy.

And Haruno herself was quite pleased.

She had already figured out who the woman next to Andrew was.

Mahiru Shiina—the un-favored daughter of the Shiina family.

Such a perfect angel, and yet he'd managed to win her over too… this guy really had skills.

But since he came to her instead, didn't that mean she was more attractive to him?

After a long moment, Andrew and Haruno's eyes met, and they both felt something… warm inside.

Like their hearts had just quietly connected.

It was… the feeling of being in love.

Andrew ran his fingers through her damp hair and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"Haruno, this move is my special trademark, you know. I think you should call me Onii-chan instead!"

Hearing that, Haruno rolled her eyes at him playfully, then leaned in to bite his neck.

"Well then, Demon Onii-chan, you don't mind if I leave a little bite mark here, do you? I wonder what your little angel will think when she sees it~?"

Her mischievous move, paired with that adorable expression, brought out every bit of her youthful charm.

Looking at her beautiful face, Andrew raised his brows slightly in surprise.

"Haruno… how'd you figure it out so fast? Mahiru and I have been keeping our relationship a secret."

Haruno pouted. "I was just making a random guess, but you just went and confirmed it yourself. So it really is the Shiina family's daughter. Poor girl… well, you'd better treat her right."

After learning Mahiru's background, she couldn't bring herself to hurt someone like that.

Andrew gently stroked her hair, savoring her presence, and asked softly:

"You don't mind? I mean… I am kind of a flirt—"

Before he could finish, Haruno kissed him lightning-fast and smiled warmly.

"Of course I mind. But I'm also the heir to the Yukinoshita family.

There's a saying in Huaguo: 'A wise person adapts to the times.' I'm already yours, and I know I can't beat you… so naturally, I accept my fate.

Besides, I told you before—if you can help little Yukino recover, I'll do anything."

No matter what, he was the one who'd given her hope… the one who might save her sister.

And people should know how to be grateful.

Besides, Haruno didn't find Andrew unpleasant to be around, either.

Since that's the case, why not try accepting it?

Even if she wanted him to only love her, that kind of thing had to be taken slow.

Showing hostility toward Mahiru Shiina right now would just be stupid.

Besides… wasn't there a chance she could actually get along with Mahiru Shiina?

Admitting that felt a bit embarrassing.

She used to think she could handle this younger boy with ease.

But reality proved she was totally outmatched.

If he came to see her every single day, she'd definitely be overwhelmed.

That's where Mahiru Shiina could come in—help share the "fire."

Haruno's eyes were firm and steady, and Andrew's lips curled into a faint smile.

"Since Haruno says so… then I won't hold back."

Yukinoshita Haruno shyly closed her beautiful eyes.

"It's not like I told you to hold ba— mmmph…"

Her words were cut off as his lips pressed against hers again. The girl's eyes flicked toward him in shy surprise, but she couldn't help responding happily.

She didn't want to be completely passive.

And really, there was nothing to feel down about—this man wasn't bad at all. He treated her gently, passionately…

He also possessed some mysterious power, one that could protect her.

Even more importantly, he could help the Yukinoshita family rise another level and firmly secure their place in the political world.

With all that, why wouldn't she love him?

And with her own charm, Yōno (Haruno) had plenty of confidence she could make him love her back, too…

She didn't know how much time passed.

Andrew gently laid the tired Yōno on her bed, tucking the blanket over her with care.

He stepped out of the room, about to leave—when a cold voice came from behind.

"Stop right there."

It was Yukino Yukinoshita .

Andrew turned around with a faint smirk, facing her directly.

Yukino froze for a moment at the sight of his handsome face, then quickly returned to her icy demeanor.

"Tell me your name… demon."

"My name's Andrew. And actually, we're classmates, Yukino-chan."

"Cut the crap. I'm asking—what will it take for you to let go of my sister?"

Her face showed pure disgust, though her delicate body trembled slightly.

Because he was walking toward her.

Up close, Andrew admired her ridiculously cute face, his gaze lingering for a moment on her modest chest. His lips curled into a wicked smile.

"Yukino, don't you think your question is a bit ridiculous?"

"I already have someone as amazing as Yōno-nee. Why on earth would I let her go?"

Yukino forced herself to stay calm, speaking firmly.

"Then tell me—what do I have to give you for you to agree?"

"If you won't tell me, I'll find out myself. If demons like you exist in this world, then angels must exist too—ah!"

Her cry was cut short as Andrew scooped her up and tossed her onto the bed in the next room—her bed.

Then, pinning her down, he grabbed her chin.

His breath was warm against her skin, making her cheeks flush faintly. Her body trembled, and she looked at him in panic.

"What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? Obviously teaching a lesson to an ungrateful girl."

"I—"

"I what? You are ungrateful. When you were paralyzed in bed, did the 'angel' you wanted so badly come to save you?"

"I…"

"It was me—the demon—who saved you."

"But now you want to break our deal, take away what I worked so hard to get, and even find an angel to destroy me."

"Yukino Yukinoshita… how can a woman like you be worse than a demon?"

Her cheeks burned red, ears hot, and despite herself, a flicker of guilt bloomed in her heart.

She lowered her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.

"But… but who's to say you didn't use some weird trick to make my sister like that? I just don't want her to lose herself because of me. So… please, let her be free."

As she spoke, it was like she'd made up her mind. She took his hand and placed it on her thigh.

"If you let my sister go… then I'll be yours."

"In the end, I'm the one who should've paid the price in the first place, so—mmmph!"

She couldn't finish the sentence—because he had already leaned down and kissed her.

"..."
