"come on, come on work you damn thing" I grunt at the cloth as I hurriedly draw the alchemical symbols as quick as I can with my own blood.
Taking a moment to look over the car at the maniac going around freezing people with a manic grin on his face I quickly duck back behind the car and finally finish the Alchemy circle on the back of the white gloves.
Slipping them on after I've made sure they are correctly made I take a deep breath and make a mad dash at killer frost while getting ready to snap my fingers.
"Hey ice bitch" I yell to get her attention as she aims at a family hiding behind a car like I was before. her head snaps to me and a cruel grin spreads over her face. "Aw is somebody trying to be a her-" she doesn't get the chance to finish her insult as I aim my hand at her and snap my fingers as hard as possible while focusing on the process needed for fire to start.
Thankfully my hastily put together Roy Mustang gloves are carried by tinker bullshit and work as intended, maybe a little to well as the entire street behind her is engulfed in a torrent of flame (luckily nobody was behind her or on the street because her rampage started from that direction)
I ready my other hand at where she would be because this is DC and it entirely likely that she tanked that and is just being dramatic. And good thing that I was because not even a second after that thought I see a wave of ice start coming my way.
I quickly dodge to the side and snap my fingers again at where she is most likely hiding in the smoke but even then I don't stop moving as I grab a discarded phone and start pulling it apart as I dodge and attack killer frost back.
Taking a moment to duck behind a car I put the finishing touches on what I am creating and set it to activate before throwing it back over the car and letting it go off.
I sigh as the normaliser activates and creates a field of normality about a city wide, totally disabling any superpowers or magic. Taking another big breath I sprint back past the car and through the smoke to tackle the totally dumbfounded killer frost and slamming her head against the ground to knock her out as she changes from her white and blue back to normal human colours.
I make sure to secure her hands with a ziplock I had in my pocket before getting off her and collapsing onto the floor next to her.
"Holy fuck that was hard" I grumble as I lay exhausted from the fight as people start cumming from their hiding spots now that no more ice or fire is being thrown around.
I hear before I see the cops pull up to the area and start trying to figure out what happened but still I just lay there catching my breath.
"Um sir" I look over at the cop nervously trying to talk to me, "am I alright to secure killer frost" I nod at his question and he hurriedly does so.
Out of the corner of my eye I get to watch the distinctly funny view of Superman crossing the normality field and dropping from his position in the air and struggling to stand while looking baffled.
I call out to the big man, "there is a normalse field about 20 metres wide from my position" he nods and gets back to his feet to walk back out the field and test my words.
Seeing he's able to fly again when he leaves the area he reaches up to his ear and starts speaking into it.
After that I kinda zoned out for a while only to be brought back to the present by a obviously fake cough. Looking up I see the only "normal" person in the league, the dark knight.
"What can you tell me about what you call the field of normalcy" he grunts out at me while giving me a much lighter glare than I was expecting.
"It's a field that makes it impossible for powers of all kinds to be used, ranging from magical to biological. The field is generated by a small device called a NFG or normalcy field generator about the size of a standard grenade" I sit up from my laying position and streach a bit before walking over and picking up the seemingly normal rock the NFC is designed to look like.
I take a moment to look around to see if killer frost ins nearby and when I'm sure she isnt I flick the switch to disable the NFC which makes a audible warping sound but not other indication that it was anything other than a rock.
I flip the NFC in my hand before chucking it over to batman and turning the opposite way and wondering off with a quick "seeya"
I flick the button on my watch that had been charging since before killer frost started her rampage and I am teleported back to my underground base.
"Hey failsafe we need to up our timeline by quite a bit" I spoke out loud to my personal AI failsafe (yes I named it and built it after the one from Destiny 2)
"Sure thing captain-I'll get right on that" the two personalities of failsafe are designed to both challenge and work together so they never stop growing while also not allowing them to get out of control with their growth.
I sigh and take my jacket of my shoulders to hang it over the back of my chair before ploping down on it myself and starting up my PC.
As it boots up I reach over and grab my water bottle to take a swig and ask failsafe. "How has project library been doing" I ask.
"At the moment the building itself and all its internals have been prepared all that is left is to officially open" I nod and start doing a bit of finishing touches of the main attraction of my new library.
Time skip 6 hours
"Alright that is about as perfect as perfect can be" I say as I push my chair back and make my way over to the telepad with a grin on my face. "Beam me Up Scotty" I say to the empty room before I hear a very softly said "nerd" from failsafe and then I'm in my new library.
