Chapter 2 - Chapter-1 THE PAST ME

The silence inside my head was deafening.Everything felt like it was dissolving. My body… my breath… my heartbeat.

After listening to God earlier, fragments of my past life memories began to resurface in my consciousness.Like shards of glass piercing my mind, they came—image after image, moment after moment.

I saw myself again… that boy who was only sixteen.

I could almost feel the warmth of those days, like sunlight on my face. My mother was an ASIAN, deeply spiritual, deeply devoted. She was gentle but unshakable in her faith. Whenever she found time, she would sit quietly in our small house, close her eyes, and begin chanting the names of gods.

Her voice was soft, yet powerful—it had a rhythm that could calm storms inside the heart. That sound became the lullaby of my childhood.

Those days… those were the happiest of my life.

My father worked hard, but he always smiled when he came home. I had friends in my high school who genuinely liked me, and I liked them back. I was never the most talented, never the strongest, but I had something more valuable: warmth around me.

But happiness is fragile. And fate… fate is cruel.

That evening…

I still remember how quickly it happened. I was running late. My friends had called me, and I was in such a hurry to meet them. The city lights blurred around me. I remember the glow of the traffic signal, but in my rush, I ignored it.

One step.Then another.

Before I realized, I had crossed fifteen feet. Then came the sound—sharp, metallic, terrifying.

A horn.Screeching brakes.And then—pain.

It began at my left shoulder, searing down through every nerve in my body. It was as if fire itself had crawled inside me, burning everything alive. I could not even scream. My lungs betrayed me. My vision twisted and blurred.

For a moment, I thought time itself had stopped. But no—it was me. My body was freezing, paralyzed.

Five seconds. That's all it took for my world to collapse.

I realized then… I had been hit by a truck[1].

But what truly terrified me was not the pain. No. It was something worse.

The thought of my mother—her face, her tears. That unbearable sadness if she saw me like this. The fear in my father's eyes.

I wanted to live. Not for myself, but for them.

I forced myself to stay conscious. My body screamed at me to surrender, but I held on, if only to whisper to them that everything would be alright, even if it was a lie.

But lies are fragile too.

The darkness grew stronger, wrapping me like a suffocating blanket. And then—nothing.

PART-1

When I opened my eyes, the world had changed.

"Where am I?"

The place around me was strange. Vast, empty, glowing faintly white like mist clinging to eternity. There were no walls, no ground, only endless whiteness.

Then a voice.'Are you finally awake?'

I turned. What I saw made my heart skip a beat.

A boy—no older than me—stood with a flute in his hand. His presence was gentle, calming. A warmth radiated from him that felt both human and divine.

"Huh… who the hell are you!?" I shouted, unable to hide my confusion.

The boy smiled softly.'I am the god your mother was always worshipping.'

"…huh?"

Had I heard that right?Did he say… god?

'Yes,' he replied with a knowing look. 'You heard right. I am a god.'

"You… you can read my mind too!?"

'Of course. I am a god after all. How rude of you to doubt me,' he teased.

I froze. His words carried no hesitation. Somehow, deep inside, I knew he wasn't lying.

"Wait… if you're a god, and this place isn't Earth…" My voice trembled. "Does that mean… I didn't survive?"

'Bingo.' His answer was calm, but it hit me like thunder. 'Sadly, you are right. You did not survive the accident.'

My chest tightened."My parents…"

'Do not worry about them.' His tone was serious now. 'I cannot allow any of my followers to drown in sorrow. No god desires such a thing. Not in any religion, not in any world.'

"But… how?"

'There are many ways. Ways beyond your understanding. But know this—I will not allow your mother or father to collapse into despair. Leave it to me.'

Relief washed over me. My voice softened. "I see… thank you. Thank you for taking care of them. But… why? Why go so far?"

He looked at me with eyes older than eternity.'Three reasons. First, your mother is a pure soul. She has never cursed anyone, never carried hatred. How could I be cruel to such kindness? The same for your father.'

"Okay…"

'Second, she is my follower. And third…'

His words paused. A flicker of hesitation.

"…What mistake?" I asked.

His eyes shifted slightly.'…You see, you were not supposed to die yet.'

"Huh!? Did you just call that a small mistake!?"

He looked away. Silent. Embarrassed.

I sighed. "Well… what's done is done. What now? Am I going to heaven?"

'You are… not angry about it?' he asked.

"You can read my thoughts. You already know. You didn't do it on purpose, right? Then it's fine."

For the first time, he looked genuinely moved.'Your parents have raised you well.'

"Yes. They have." I smiled faintly. "I suppose."

Then he grew serious again.'Now you have two choices. Either go to heaven… or be reincarnated. The choice is yours.'

I didn't even hesitate. "Reincarnation."

'That was… fast.'

I shrugged. "I've seen enough anime where the main character dies and gets reincarnated in another world. Honestly, I had a feeling this would happen."

He blinked at me. 'You're choosing reincarnation based on… some cartoon?'

"Hey! Anime and cartoons are not the same!"

'Yeah, yeah,' he muttered.

"But," I asked eagerly, "if I'm reincarnating… does that mean magic? Sorcery?"

'No.'

"Then… is it a sci-fi world? Giant robots?"

'No,' he said even more flatly.

"Then what's my reward for your mistake?"

He smirked.'You'll know. But I won't tell you now.'

"…Why the secrecy?"

'So you can enjoy it later,' he said, a strange enthusiasm in his tone.

He raised his hand.'Then… let us begin the reincarnation ceremony.'

His finger flicked—and suddenly, golden light enveloped me. A vast circle appeared beneath my feet, filled with runes I couldn't read. The air itself vibrated.

He began chanting in a language older than time. His words echoed like thunder yet soothed like rain.

'I order the nature to reincarnate Harumei Shinna. May you live your other life to the fullest.'

The white world began to crumble. His voice lingered, wrapping me like a farewell embrace.

"Yes… I will," I whispered. My voice carried both joy and sorrow. "Thank you… for everything."

'Do not worry. I will always watch over your parents—and you. They will never drown in sadness again.'

His sincerity was undeniable. My heart eased.

"I will never forget you," I said. The words left me naturally, like breathing.

He smiled—the kind of smile only a god could wear.

That was the last thing I saw before the white world shattered completely… and everything dissolved into darkness.
