Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Beginning of a Knight's Tale

[After the garden conversation about the prophesied child, your life with Morgan continued.]

[In the new Camelot, everything was developing normally and beautifully.]

[The people lived and worked in peace. Merchants no longer had to worry about unsold goods or high taxes, and farmers no longer worried about crop yields or exploitation by landlords.]

[Patrolling soldiers could be seen on the streets from time to time, and the beautiful melodies and songs of bards spread through every alley, praising the Queen's truthfulness and wisdom.]

[Camelot's name as 'The Unfallen' had long since spread, attracting many desperate refugees. Morgan accepted them all and implemented many measures to help them integrate into Camelot.]

[And you, with nothing else to do, spent your nights learning some Divine Age magecraft from Morgan, as well as engaging in increasingly deep and intimate exchanges.]

[Life was wonderful, but you knew you couldn't remain complacent.]

[One day, you heard that the legendary King Arthur, the prophesied child Artorius, was now traveling throughout Britain, slaying monsters, helping the common people, and confronting Vortigern's army.]

[He had already accumulated considerable public support.]

[And so, you decided you could no longer indulge in this gentle life.]

[You proposed the idea of traveling abroad to Morgan.]

[Although Morgan knew you had your reasons for choosing to leave temporarily, and that it was to build momentum for her, for some reason she still felt a little displeased.]

"Lamorak, you must understand that I am agreeing to let you go because you have a mission to carry out, not for you to go fooling around. Do you understand?"

Morgan's eyes burned as she stared at Cang Ye, who was currently kneeling before her.

She looked less like a monarch dispatching a subordinate on a mission and more like a wife nagging her husband about what he should and shouldn't do while away.

"As you command, my Queen."

Cang Ye's reply was, as always, decisive and loyal.

This eased Morgan's restless heart a little.

But only a little.

Watching Cang Ye's figure disappear under the moonlight and from her sight, Morgan couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness.

When she realized that this feeling stemmed from Cang Ye's departure, she felt a flash of embarrassment and annoyance.

But even though her pride wouldn't admit it, her subconscious actions betrayed her.

It wasn't until Cang Ye had completely vanished beyond the horizon that Morgan, with a somewhat dejected heart, returned to the castle.

She found that she had grown accustomed to having that man by her side. Now that he was gone, it felt a little strange.

[One late night, you temporarily left Morgan and Camelot.]

[Compared to when you roamed Britain as a water fae following the waterways, this time you were walking as Knight Lamorak, and there were many more places you could go.]

[But these were secondary.]

[As Morgan had instructed, you understood that the purpose of your journey was to build a reputation, and then, with that reputation, publicly declare your allegiance to Morgan, thereby converting Knight Lamorak's honor into momentum for her and breaking the curse Uther had placed on her in the eyes of the world.]

[And so, after careful consideration, you decided to follow the example of Artorius and his companions: helping the people of Britain with their difficulties, hunting down rampaging Phantasmal Species, and striking at Vortigern's army.]

[This would not only win the hearts of the people but also temper you. It was undoubtedly an excellent plan.]

[With this in mind, you began your journey.]

[On the fourth day after leaving Camelot, you encountered a group of so-called "righteous men of the greenwood" who were actually bandits.]

[You showed no mercy to these scoundrels, piercing their hearts with your spear.]

[On the seventh day, you arrived at a village.]

[The villagers, seeing you were a lone knight with a handsome face, were very enthusiastic. Here, you traded the money you took from the bandits for some grain and a strong black horse for travel.]

[You then stayed in the village for a few days, helping the villagers with some small matters and driving away a bully who had been tyrannizing the village.]

[This earned you peculiar glances from the village maidens.]

[You were somewhat afraid that Morgan had placed a scrying spell on you, so you didn't dare get too entangled with the young women. You only left behind the name of Lamorak before leaving the village.]

[In the following days, you killed many more bandits and got rid of a noble landlord who was oppressing the people.]

[But as you killed more scoundrels, you found that you didn't have enough space to carry all the loot.]

[So you distributed all the excess money to the local commoners.]

[This absolutely unique act deeply shocked the people. They were extremely grateful to you, calling you 'Lamorak the Noble'.]

[You felt there was nothing wrong with this. This ill-gotten wealth was stolen from the local people by the gentry and bandits in the first place. You were simply returning it to its rightful owners while punishing evil.]

[Slowly, your deeds began to spread throughout the region. The common people looked forward to the arrival of 'Lamorak the Noble' in their towns, while the nobles and bandits hated you to the bone, wishing you would die sooner.]

[To this, you only found it amusing.]

['Cursing me to die, are you? Then I'll be sure to visit each of you and let you experience the feeling of flying.']

[With this thought, you spent a month plowing through all the bandits and nobles in the region, leaving them with no one to turn to for help.]

[Now, it wasn't just the people in this region who knew of you; people in other parts of Britain also knew of your deeds.]

[You became a figure in the bards' songs—a hulking figure with three heads and six arms, so impressive that even the Tyrant King Vortigern would give you a thumbs up and say, "What a noble knight." ]

[But you were mostly unaware of these things, because you had been lost in a forest for three whole days.]

"Are you kidding me? Did that damn giant turn on an invisibility cheat? I've been looking for three days and haven't seen a single giant hair!"

At this moment, Cang Ye was exasperated. He really wanted to know how that giant managed to grab his horse and then disappear without a trace into the forest.

Just three days ago, Cang Ye was riding his little black horse, bantering with the system while walking along a forest path.

Suddenly, a giant jumped out, didn't even look at him, knocked him to the ground, and then ran off with his horse.

At the time, Cang Ye was in a heated argument with the system about whether Merlin or Proto-Merlin (Merli) was better, and in his distraction, he was ambushed by the giant.

By the time he came to his senses, the giant had already fled into the forest, and Cang Ye had carelessly lost his horse.

Hmm, why does that sound a little strange?

Anyway, after realizing his horse was gone, Cang Ye immediately followed the giant's tracks.

He didn't know why he so easily encountered Phantasmal Species that others could only dream of meeting, and a rare giant at that.

Giants were already rare, and most of them had already entered the Inner Sea of the Planet.

Who knew where this horse-stealing giant came from.

But when Cang Ye followed the tracks deep into the dense forest, he suddenly found that the tracks had disappeared, and in his haste, he had gotten lost.

And so, we have the current scene of him being on the verge of a breakdown.

[Is there a possibility, Host, that this is a Mountain Giant? It might be using a skill similar to an earth-遁 (dùn - escape) technique, which is why you can't find it.]

The system popped up at this moment, but Cang Ye felt like it was gloating.

"So why isn't a Mountain Giant staying in the mountains instead of running around in the forest? What, got tired of the old place and decided to move?"

Cang Ye retorted. He had really been pushed to his limits by this damn giant these past few days.

If he hadn't hunted a few animals for food, he would have been starving by now.

Suddenly, just as Cang Ye was about to rest, he heard what sounded like a person's voice in the forest.

Who would be talking in this deep, remote forest?

With this thought, Cang Ye walked towards the source of the sound.

As he got closer, the voice grew louder, and Cang Ye confirmed that it was indeed a man's voice.

But why does this guy sound like he's cursing up a storm?

Cang Ye's expression became a little strange. He quickened his pace. When he pushed aside a bush, a cave at the foot of a mountain came into view.

And in the open space of the cave, a man was tied to a de-branched tree trunk.

Hmm... how should I put this?

Cang Ye stroked his chin. He couldn't help but think that this guy looked like a kebab.

At this moment, the man's barrage of insults clearly reached Cang Ye's ears.

"You despicable, shameless bastard with a mother but no father to raise you! If you have the guts, let your Grandpa Kay down, let me eat my fill, and then we'll fight for three hundred rounds! I guarantee I'll beat the shit out of you!"
