Chapter 1 - a night I wouldn't forget

As Jason lay in bed, his phone suddenly sprang to life, blasting the catchy tune of "Lollipop" into the darkness. He groggily reached out, his fingers stretching towards the device like tentacles. "Come on, just a little bit closer," he muttered, his voice husky with sleep.

With a final stretch, Jason's fingers closed around the phone, pulling it towards him. But in his haste, he accidentally pushed it off the bedside table, sending it tumbling to the floor. "Christ!!" Jason exclaimed, leaning over the side of the bed to retrieve his phone.

As he finally grasped the device, the ringing ceased, leaving an uncomfortable silence in its wake. Jason flipped the phone over, his eyes scanning the screen for the caller's identity. His heart skipped a beat as he saw the name of his long-lost friend flash on the screen. "What the hell...?" Jason's mind reeled in shock. "I thought he's dead," he whispered to himself, memories of their past flooding back.

As he sat up in bed, Jason noticed that the lamp on his bedside table was still on, despite him distinctly remembering switching it off before drifting off to sleep. He shrugged it off, attributing it to his own forgetfulness. "Whatever," he muttered, not giving it much thought.

But as he settled back into bed, the lights in the room began to flicker ominously. At first, Jason didn't pay much attention to it, thinking it was just a minor electrical issue. However, as the flickering grew more intense, Jason's annoyance turned to concern.

He tossed off his covers and stormed over to the lamp, yanking the plug out of the socket. But to his shock, the lamp continued to glow with an otherworldly light, growing brighter and brighter. "What the hell...?" Jason's voice trailed off as he stared at the plug in his hand, still unplugged from the socket.

The bulb in the lamp suddenly exploded, sending shards of glass flying in all directions. Jason ducked, shielding his face from the debris. As he looked up, he saw that the room was in disarray, the air thick with the acrid smell of burnt wire.

Jason's heart was racing, his mind reeling with questions. What was going on? Why was the lamp behaving so strangely? And who was calling him from that unknown number? As he stood there, frozen in uncertainty, the darkness seemed to close in around him, like a living, breathing entity.

As the glass shard pierced Jason's face, he let out a terrified yelp. "I need to get out of here," he whispered, his voice trembling with fear. The thought repeated itself in his mind like a mantra, "I need to get the hell out right now."

Jason's eyes scanned the room frantically, his gaze landing on his bike keys on the floor. As he raised his head to grab them, he was met with a sight that made his blood run cold. A dark figure stood at his door, its presence seeming to fill the entire room.

"Stop this, Elio!" Jason shouted, his voice hoarse with fear. But before he could take another step, an unseen force yanked him back onto the bed. Belts from under the bed sprang up, wrapping around Jason's wrists and ankles like snakes. He struggled to free himself, but the restraints only tightened.

"Stop this, what do you want from me?" Jason screamed, his face contorted in terror. The dark figure didn't respond, its presence seeming to grow more menacing with each passing moment.

The remaining bulbs in the room began to flicker, casting eerie shadows on the walls. Jason's phone started ringing, the tune of "Lollipop" blaring loudly in the silence. "Pick it, Jason," the dark figure finally spoke, its voice like a low growl.

The room erupted into chaos as strong winds burst through the window, sending objects flying. Jason's phone, still ringing, hovered in mid-air, as if defying gravity. The dark figure loomed closer, its presence suffocating.

"Pick it up, Jason," the figure repeated, its voice echoing in Jason's mind. But Jason was trapped, unable to move. "I can't if I'm trapped on this bed," he pleaded, his voice barely audible over the din.

Suddenly, a lightning bolt struck, illuminating the room in a blinding flash. The phone continued to ring, the lights flickered wildly, and the wind howled like a beast. "Pick it up, Jason," the dark figure's voice boomed, the words seared into Jason's brain.

Jason woke up with a start, gasping for air. His phone was still ringing, the tune of "Lollipop" piercing the darkness. He sat up, rubbing his eyes, trying to shake off the vivid dream. But as he looked around, he realized that it was still raining outside, and the lamp on his bedside table was off.

As he reached for his phone, he saw that it was an unknown number calling. "Unknown??" he muttered, wondering who could be calling at this hour. But as he answered the call, he didn't get a chance to say anything.

Instead, he remembered his assignment and began to work on it. As he turned on the lamp, he noticed something strange - belt stripe marks on his hand, and some still hidden around his body. Jason's eyes widened in fear as he remembered his dream. "What's going on here?" he whispered, his mind reeling with questions.

As Jason reached for the door, he said to himself, "I think I'll go get something to drink to refresh my mind." But as he looked down at the light reflecting beneath the door, he saw a shadow figure pass by. "This isn't happening again," Jason murmured, remembering that his parents were away on a trip and he was alone at home.

Curiosity got the better of him, and Jason quickly opened the door to see who it was. But as he did, he felt a sudden pull, like he was about to fall. Fortunately, he managed to grab the door handle tightly, saving himself from tumbling into the unknown.

As Jason looked out into the hallway, he was met with an eerie sight. The floor seemed to have disappeared, replaced by an endless void of darkness. There were no walls, no furniture, just an abyssal emptiness that seemed to stretch on forever.

Jason's mind reeled in confusion. "What the f...? What's going on here?" he exclaimed, his voice barely above a whisper. He tentatively reached out with one foot, trying to feel for the floor. But there was nothing. Just empty space.

With a surge of fear, Jason quickly locked the door and backed away. "What should I do? What should I do?" he thought, his mind racing with panic. He checked his phone, hoping to call for help, but there was no signal.

Just then, his phone rang, the tune of "Lollipop" piercing the silence. Jason hesitated for a moment before answering. "Jump!! Jump if you don't want to die," a voice on the other end demanded.

Before Jason could respond, the phone sparked and lit on fire. He dropped it in terror, watching as it fell to the ground. In a desperate bid to gauge the distance to the floor, Jason grabbed a book and tossed it out the door. But there was no thud, no sound of it hitting the ground.

As Jason turned back to face his room, he saw the same scary figure from his dream standing before him. "I said jump!!" the figure shouted, rushing towards Jason with an unnatural speed.

The impact of the figure's push sent Jason flying out the door, and he felt himself falling into the void. The door shattered behind him, and Jason's world went dark.
