Chapter 7 - Finally

(Liam's POV)

"Liam, I think it's time we really tell you where we come from and who we are." Mother and Father sat me on their laps.

But before all of that, 2 years had passed. I was 4 years old now. So what happened during that two- year timespan?

Well for one, I had gotten incredibly stronger than I was the last time obviously. Mother and Father were surprised, but they somewhat expected that I would progress at a rapid rate like this. I for one also became a book nerd in some aspects, because of my mother. I knew a lot more things about Mana. My mother even told me knowledge that was quite hard to obtain. Mother was extremely proud of how I answered despite still being so little. She continued to further push my knowledge in my studies.

Father had pushed me harder than before. Through the various sparring matches that we both had with one another. I was able to get better and improve myself. My swordwork had also gotten a lot better. Father was a bit less sloppy with his movements to push me to my limits. Although the training was hard it was very rewarding. In fact, I can proudly declare

I'm already a light-stage Red Core.

My mother and father celebrated my 3rd and 4th- year-old party with a bang. Mother made the most delicious food known to man. Mother cast spells that I could only be amazed by. The bright lights were a sight to see. They really did make birthdays here a real deal in this world. In my past life, my birthday wasn't celebrated at this kind of level. It was nice to see them celebrating my birthday even if it was just two people.

And that brings me to the present day. Where some interesting news would travel to my ears.

I looked up a both of them, slightly tilting my head at an angle.

"Me and your mother decided that well, we should tell you more about our family." Father decided to speak up.

Family? About time!

I was always interested in where they truly came from, I had asked my mother and father one time, but they just told me I wasn't ready. I guess I am now since I'm 4 years old. I'm still a child.

"Your mother and I are royals," Father said solemnly.

Royals?! How could Father just say that so casually, as if he had said that to other people before?

"Royals? As in prince and princess?" I attempted to gauge more information about them. The plot was thickening.

"Yes, Liam." Mother kissed me on the forehead, stroking my hair. "I'm a princess from one of the kingdoms you learnt about in the library. The Kingdom of Elenoir. My full name is Aerilyn Eralith."

"I'm a prince from The Kingdom of Spain. Gabriel Glayder." Father added.

The Kingdom of Elenoir? The Kingdom of Spain? Eralith? Aerilyn?

It all made sense now! I could totally see why mother and father were both royalties. Whenever I saw them, the way they acted, and spoke was that of royalty, but I could never place a finger on them. But now I finally understood it all.

"We also think it's time that we go to the Kingdom of Elenoir. Where your Grandpa has been wanting to meet you." Mother spoke softly.

Though I was excited, so much new information came to my head that it was honestly all too surprising to me. I have a grandpa?

"When are we going?"

"Tomorrow. We're going tomorrow." Father smiled.

(TIMESKIP)

Tomorrow had come. Tomorrow has become today, the present. I was excited. I was excited to go somewhere because today would be the day that I would explore this world much further than ever before.

Sure Mother had let me go out every once in and while with her, but not like this. I would be seeing things that I had never seen before, and I was excited for that to happen. I just couldn't wait.

We were currently in the carriage, which I'd say was pretty comfortable, to say the least. While me and mother were inside the carriage, Father was outside riding the horses to our impending destination.

Mother began quizzing me about Mana not because she wanted to, but because she just wanted to kill time just like I wanted to. Eventually, she would tell me stories about her childhood and more about her younger youth.

I was fascinated by her younger youth, she talked about it in great detail and how she missed her family from time to time. I could tell by her voice and tone in which she spoke about her family, she couldn't wait to see them again.

She had told me that Grandpa was a certain type of character and to be careful around him. Not in a bad way but more of a funny and trolling type of way. I couldn't wait to see who he was as a person.

On the other hand, my father had a different type of response. I asked him about his family but avoided the subject completely. I was a bit worried that I might have made him mad, but Mother reassured me that it was alright and that it was just a sore topic that Father never really spoke about to anyone.

That only got me more curious, as to what happened in his past that caused him to be quiet and not want to even talk about his family. Mother continued to tell me wonderful stories about how great of a man Father is. Even though I couldn't see Father's face I could defiantly tell he had a goofy grin on his face with his chest held high up hearing these compliments from Mother.

Mother could only playfully roll her eyes, as she did a full 180 beginning to tell embarrassing stories of Father. Father immediately began pleading for her not to go any further as he didn't want to ruin his pristine and cool reputation with me.

The carriage was filled with such a great atmosphere that I had never experienced. Never in my past life, I would have had these types of events happen. However, that would soon stop.

The carriage had stopped abruptly.

"Gabriel, is everything alright out there?"

Mother asked.

"Just some unwelcome visitors that's all," Father said mounting off his horse.

Mother seemed to know what was going on. "How many. . . Do you need help?" She asked so calmly as if this had happened before. I couldn't read an inch of fear on her face.

Father looked back at us with the bright smile that he always carried on his face, giving us a thumbs up. "It's alright Aerilyn I can handle them, it's time for some fun." He lightly chuckled. "Aerilyn please cover Liam's ears and eyes for me. I don't want him to hear or see any of this."

Mother nodded, scooping me up and cradling me once more. "It's alright Liam your father is just handling some business. Nothing to worry about." Mother smiled, casting a spell around us. I could only see and hear whatever was around this bubble. Everything outside was pitch black.

(Gabriel's POV)

1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I count 5 bandits, this should be

interesting.

I sat down on the ground, waiting for them to come to me.

"What do we have here? A pathetic bastard already on his knees!" One of the bandits shouted, which lead to the rest of them laughing.

Oh come on, that joke wasn't even funny! I could probably make a funnier one than that.

I kept one eye open to now see them all circling me. Good.

As long as they weren't circling the carriage that's all that mattered. Not that Aerilyn couldn't handle herself. She was actually the way bigger threat out of the two of us. I didn't want to brag or anything but when Liam turned 4 he wasn't the only one that improved his Mana core, I did!

Silver core baby!

"What's so funny? I see you have a kid and a hot lady there in that carriage, the things I'd do to them."

Not funny. Not fucking funny at all.

I stood up from the ground dusting off the dirt on my clothes.

"Listen I'll give you a chance to say sorry and you can be on your merry way," I said smiling through the anger that was beginning to burst out of my body.

The bandit laughed manically. "Why would I do that, when I can have a bit of fun!"

I was getting sick of these foolish antics. I stared at every one of the bandits who were circling me down. "Alright then. . . Show me.'

Fear. I knew I had installed fear within them. I could see it in their eyes. Just those little words I had said to all of them ever so coldly changed the atmosphere around us. I could tell that all of them would be suffocating from the cold atmosphere in the air now.

Great. Just how I loved it. I had my hands behind my back, whistling at them, inviting them to come at me.

"A-Are you mocking us!" A bandit said, his legs trembling.

"So what if I am? What are you going to do about it? I'll let you get the first hit on me." I smirked, continuing to whistle at them.

To my surprise, the bandit in front of me despite all the fear that was within him, dared to scream and run at me. I respected him for that. And as a reward he'd die quicker than the others. A less painful death I'd say.

As he dragged his sword with all his might, aiming for my head, what felt like seconds to him, felt like minutes to me.

I grabbed a hold of the sword firmly. Shattering his sword with my bare hands.

"Come on now! If you want to get a hit on me you have to do better than that. . . But unfortunately, it's too late for you to do that now."

"Wh-"

GUH!

And just like that, I broke him in half like a pencil. He didn't even have time to complete what he was going to say to me, but that didn't matter. Their words were going to be meaningless.

Because all I saw were scared dead men, lying on the ground.

WOOSH!

2nd one is dead.

VOOSH!

3rd one is down.

BLOOSH!

4th one is gone.

OOSH!

5th one was dusted.

All of them are done and dusted like that. I was honestly expecting them to put up more of a fight. Oh well, they were bandits what would they know about fighting?

I couldn't tell what type of mages they were perhaps I didn't get them enough time to prepare themselves or even react to my attacks. That was my fault. At least I had a slight chance of getting loose every once and a while. Maybe I should go a bit easier next time if they are ever more bandits in the way.

I had forgotten how it felt to verse other people, due to Aerilyn always beating the living crap out of me when it came to duels every single time. I can certainly say it was not fun.

I looked at my clothing, still intact. Not bad, not bad at all. I'm still in one piece, with no injuries to be seen, that's good.

Now it was time to take these bodies and place them someway else, to clear the path for the carriage. Even if there were Bandits, they deserved a funeral of some sort. Who knows why they became Bandits in the first place but maybe they did because they had no other choice, having to feed their starving families.

A funeral was the least I can do for them. Because sometimes I think I could've been a bandit myself if I had been pushed towards that path.

But never mind that now we were almost at The Kingdom of Elenoir. . .

Finally.
