After leaving the building, Ye Chen headed straight to the parking lot.
The auction venue he and Liu Yue were going to was located in another building not too far away, but they still needed a car to get there quickly.
When they reached the parking area, Liu Yue led Ye Chen toward her parked car.
To Ye Chen's surprise, Liu Yue's car was a Lamborghini Veneno—one of the most expensive cars in the world.
"Ye Chen, get in quickly. Otherwise, we'll be late," Liu Yue said, opening the door.
Ye Chen got into the car, feeling a bit nervous.
He looked around in amazement. The interior of the sports car was luxurious and futuristic.
Never in his life had he even touched such an expensive car, let alone sat inside one. In the past, this was something he could only dream of.
Without wasting time, Liu Yue stepped on the gas and sped toward the auction building.
Luckily, the auction venue wasn't too far from Liu Yue's company headquarters. Within a few minutes, they arrived and parked in the spacious lot outside the auction hall.
Ye Chen stepped out of the car and looked around in awe.
All around him were luxury cars—brands like Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, and Bentley—lined up neatly.
The cheapest car here probably cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Clearly, this auction was attended by the rich and powerful.
"Let's go inside," Liu Yue said.
As they entered the grand building, male and female receptionists welcomed them with polite smiles.
They immediately recognized Liu Yue, the president of a major company.
"Take us to Uncle Qin," Liu Yue instructed one of the staff members.
"Yes, President Liu. Please follow me," the receptionist replied respectfully and led them through the corridor.
Soon, they arrived at a private inspection room. Inside, a middle-aged man was carefully studying an odd-looking item under a magnifying glass.
"Uncle Qin!" Liu Yue called out.
The man turned around and smiled. "President Liu? What brings you here personally today?" he asked politely. Normally, Liu Yue went directly to the VIP room during auctions, so it was rare for her to visit his inspection area.
"This is a friend of mine. He wants to auction off something today. Is there still time to register an item?" Liu Yue asked, gesturing toward Ye Chen.
"Of course! We still have open slots. What does your friend want to sell?" Qin Guan looked curiously at Ye Chen, especially at the large box he was carrying.
"Ye Chen, put the box on the table and let Uncle Qin handle the registration process," Liu Yue said.
Ye Chen nodded and carefully placed the box on the table. Qin Guan stepped forward and opened it, only to find… a peach?
"President Liu… what is this?" Qin Guan asked in confusion.
He had inspected many strange items in his career, but this was the first time someone had brought fruit to be auctioned.
"I want you to auction this peach. Start the bidding at $20,000," Liu Yue replied calmly.
"$20,000? For a peach?" Qin Guan was stunned. He found it hard to believe that anyone would pay that much for a simple fruit.
"Just follow my instructions and complete the procedure," Liu Yue said firmly.
Seeing Liu Yue's serious expression, Qin Guan nodded. "Alright, I'll handle it."
Although unsure how to evaluate a fruit, Qin Guan approved the item under Liu Yue's authority and finalized the paperwork for it to be included in the auction.
Meanwhile, Ye Chen had wandered over to a nearby bookshelf.
Bored from waiting, he began flipping through books that recorded the history of valuable artifacts.
Within minutes, Ye Chen had already memorized all the contents.
When Liu Yue called for him, Ye Chen returned and smiled calmly. "Let's go," he said.
The two of them proceeded to the large auction hall. Inside, dozens of wealthy guests dressed in glamorous clothes were mingling, chatting, and sipping wine while waiting for the event to begin.
Liu Yue brought Ye Chen up to the second floor, where the VIP rooms were located. From there, they had a perfect view of the stage below.
The VIP rooms were separated by elegant glass panels, providing privacy without blocking the view.
While waiting for the auction to begin, Liu Yue turned to Ye Chen with curiosity.
"So… you're still in high school?" she asked, surprised by his calm demeanor.
Ye Chen simply smiled and nodded.
Before she could ask more questions, a voice echoed across the hall.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please quiet down. The auction is about to begin."
A beautiful and seductive woman walked on stage. She was the auctioneer for the night, dressed in a tight-fitting gown that drew everyone's attention.
"Now, our first item tonight…"
She pulled back the red cloth covering the item—revealing Ye Chen's peach. The crowd looked confused.
"Tonight's first item is a peach. The starting bid is $20,000. Bidding begins now!"
The room fell silent.
Many guests scoffed. "Is this a joke?" someone muttered.
"A peach? At a luxury auction?"
"Who put this on the list?"
But before things got too awkward, several servers entered the room carrying small plates. Each plate held a slice of peach. As planned, Liu Yue had prepared samples in advance to let the guests experience the fruit for themselves.
"Please, ladies and gentlemen," the auctioneer said. "These are the same peaches as the one we're auctioning now. Have a taste."
The guests reluctantly tried the fruit.
In the next moment, the entire hall went silent.
Eyes widened.
Mouths stopped chewing.
The flavor was unlike anything they had ever tasted. Juicy, sweet, refreshing—every bite felt like it washed away fatigue and even cleared their minds.
"This is… divine!"
"Where did this peach come from?"
"I've never tasted anything so good—not even at five-star restaurants!"
"I bid $25,000!" one man shouted.
"$50,000!" another called out.
In a matter of seconds, the auction room turned lively. Even the people who had mocked the fruit earlier were now trying to outbid each other.
The price kept climbing—$100,000, $200,000, $300,000…
"$500,000!" someone shouted boldly.
Even though everyone agreed the peach was incredible, half a million dollars was a lot for a fruit—especially the first item of the night.
Then came another voice: "$700,000!"
The room fell into stunned silence again.
No one dared to go higher.
"$700,000 going once… going twice… sold! Congratulations to bidder number 20!" the auctioneer announced.
Some guests looked disappointed they didn't act faster. Fortunately for them, the next item was revealed… another peach.
This time, everyone perked up instantly. The bidding was far from over.
