Chapter 179: The Collapse of the Immortal Boat
"All units—charge!" General Yueyu's voice echoed in the ears of every warrior.
You gripped the sword in your hand, Feixiao full of fighting spirit beside you. "It's finally here… Borisin mongrels, I've come to collect my debt!"
The war began. Beneath your feet were the shattered ruins of the Fanghu. Before your eyes were endless Abominations of Abundance and Borisin warships.
"Feixiao, look out!" you roared, your blade dissecting an attacking fiend.
"Don't tell me what to do!" her battle-axe stirred up a storm of blood and gore.
High above, Neergul piloted her warship, skillfully weaving through gunfire to break a path for you.
But there were still too many enemies, like a tide, endless. From the colossal shadow of the "Jidu Mirage," more fiends surged out.
"Jiang Li, report the situation!"
"Too many casualties! Brother, the front line pressure is too great, the field hospital is about to collapse! You must be careful!"
The blood aura around Feixiao grew heavier, and her eyes began to glow with an ominous crimson. "Feixiao! Are you alright? Calm down!" you shouted.
"I… I'm fine!" she shrieked, backhanding a giant fiend in half. "I can still kill! Kill them all!" Her movements grew frantic, losing all order, leaving only pure destructive intent. Finally, her crimson gaze locked onto a Cloud Knight beside you. Her Moon Madness had flared up.
"Feixiao! Stop!" You lunged forward, parrying her descending axe. The immense force vibrated your arm numb. "Get lost!" she snarled, her moves growing more vicious, clearly intending to kill you. You spotted an opening, sheathed your blade, and heavily struck the back of her neck. Feixiao's body went limp, collapsing into your arms.
"Take her to the rear! Quickly!" you roared at the approaching logistics Cloud Knights.
Watching her being carried away, you drew your blade again, facing the bloody storm alone. Mystic Eyes, full open!
The world transformed into a black and white net of death lines. You charged into the enemy formation, fighting madly. But soon, the intense pain from your brain grew stronger. You gritted your teeth and closed the Mystic Eyes, relying on your combat skills and self-healing ability to continue.
A fiend's claw tore open your shoulder, but the wound quickly healed. You backhanded your sword, severing its head! A Borisin's bone blade pierced your abdomen, but you paid it no mind, taking advantage of the momentum to plunge your blade into its heart! You were ultimately overwhelmed. Hundreds of fiends surrounded you, their claws and fangs tearing at your body. Flesh was mangled, bones shattered, then rapidly healed. You were pinned firmly in place.
"…Brother!" Neergul's anxious voice came through the comms. "I'm coming to support you! Hold on!"
"Wait… don't come over! The firepower here is too dense!" you roared.
"No! I must come! I don't want to see you get hurt again!"
A warship broke away from its formation, plunging resolutely towards you amidst the overwhelming gunfire. It was Neergul. She succeeded! The gunfire from her warship cleared out the fiends around you. You crawled out of the pile of flesh, just about to look up at her, when you saw—
"Neergul! Turn back! Your warship is locked—"
Her words were cut short. Bang—!!
A thick energy cannon shot from a Borisin beast ship, hitting Neergul's warship! There were no screams, no last words. Fire exploded before your eyes, and that warship, along with the girl inside who always shyly called your name, in an instant… turned into fragments scattering across the sky.
"Neergul—!!!" You watched with wide eyes as the burning wreckage fell. Your mind was blank. She… died. Not even a complete corpse left behind.
