"My name is Shimizu Mitsuki. I like studying ninjutsu, I dislike unpredictable situations, and my dream is to protect the peaceful life I've built for myself."
After giving a standard, well-mannered self-introduction, Mitsuki sat back down.
"So cool!" a girl in class whispered excitedly.
Not surprising. In a world like this — where the average life expectancy was under forty — kids matured early. And Mitsuki, frankly speaking, had been born very good-looking in this life. He even enjoyed looking at himself—why else would he keep a mirror tucked in his bedside drawer?
Ignoring the lovestruck girls, Mitsuki turned his gaze toward the window. Yes, he had landed the most cliché anime seat of all: second from the back, by the window. The legendary "King's Seat".
But that wasn't the point. What caught his attention was a green blur dashing across the training field outside.
Trailing behind him was a large banner that read:
"Run 500 laps to earn admission!"
That had to be Might Guy — and next to him, wearing the supersized green jumpsuit, was definitely Might Duy.
If the timeline was right, the Third Hokage should currently be secretly observing the incoming academy students.
After seeing Guy's perseverance, Hiruzen would add him to the alternate admission list — even though he hadn't made the cut initially. It was likely that Guy's deep respect for the Third stemmed in part from that moment.
Mitsuki made a mental note to encourage the father and son after school. While Duy was always going to be that peculiar, burning soul, Mitsuki remembered that young Guy still cared quite a bit about how others perceived him. Back in his past life, Mitsuki had really liked Guy's character. For the younger Guy, getting acknowledgment from a peer might help him define his nindō even earlier.
"My name is Shimizu — ah, no! I'm Nohara Rin. I like cooking... I don't particularly dislike anything. My dream is to become a kunoichi like Lady Tsunade!"
"What did I just say?!"
Rin rushed to finish her introduction and sat down, her pale cheeks glowing red with embarrassment.
Her mind had been stuck on Mitsuki's words — specifically when he said he "disliked unpredictable situations". What did he mean by that? Lost in thought, she had accidentally blurted out his last name instead of hers.
"Ahh, I hope Mitsuki-kun doesn't think I'm weird…"
Rin, still just a young girl who hadn't even become a genin yet, naturally cared about how others saw her.
But her little slip-up hadn't really caught anyone's attention — not even Mitsuki's. His focus had been completely hijacked by the two green beasts galloping around outside.
The round of introductions was nearly over when Mitsuki sensed someone staring at him. It wasn't Rin — if it were, his body wouldn't have reacted this way.
Activating his Six Eyes and its full 360-degree awareness, Mitsuki looked toward the source of the gaze — a girl with long, flowing black hair.
Judging by her clothes, she was clearly from the Uchiha clan. Of course, the Uchiha were full of good-looking men and women. That pure black hair, that refined elegance… In his old world, she'd definitely have had tons of fans calling her their waifu.
The girl quickly averted her gaze as her turn for introductions arrived.
"My name is Uchiha Ruri. I like getting stronger. I hate the weak. My dream is to become someone like the First Hokage."
With that, she sat down.
Even her voice was the perfect "class-rep prodigy" tone. Mitsuki couldn't help it—he was intrigued. No, wait—this one was definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Classes at the Konoha Ninja Academy weren't particularly demanding. School let out early in the afternoon.
After all, most clan children weren't there to study — families enrolled their kids mostly to help them form bonds with reliable peers and socialize with other future clan shinobi.
These children were expected to spend their free time after class mastering their family's secret jutsu. Naturally, the Academy didn't overburden students with too much schoolwork.
As for civilian children who genuinely wanted to learn more about being a ninja… well, too bad.
That was the reality of the shinobi world: the gap between clan-born and civilian-born shinobi was enormous. Without some miraculous encounter, most civilians would be lucky to make it to chūnin.
Only a few rare exceptions — like Minato… or Kento —ever broke through that ceiling.
Mitsuki and Rin left the classroom together. Kakashi had gone off to help Obito collect his admission papers.
Outside the school, five-year-old Guy was feeling crushed. He hadn't completed the 500 laps, and now he was beginning to doubt whether he had what it took to be a shinobi.
Seeing this, Duy knelt down and passionately explained the meaning of "self-discipline", reigniting his son's spirit. Under the golden rays of the setting sun, the two hugged, crying manly tears.
"...Feels like I just watched a taiga drama. Let's go, Rin." Mitsuki turned away from the dramatic scene, feeling like his eyes had just been defiled by a masterpiece of raw emotion.
"...Are they really going to be okay?" Rin whispered, bewildered but respectful.
"It's fine. That's just how they express themselves." Mitsuki gave her a quick explanation after seeing the look on her face.
As they passed the emotional father-son duo, Mitsuki paused briefly and called out:
"I saw your effort out there on the training field. You'll definitely become an excellent shinobi one day. Don't give up."
And with that, he quickly walked away.
He couldn't linger. If those two decided to hug him too, crying about youth and passion, what then?! Better safe than sorry.
Rin also offered a few kind words before hopping forward to catch up with Mitsuki.
Behind them, Guy looked at his father, dazed.
"Father… they weren't mocking me just now… they were… encouraging me!!"
"That's right, Guy!"
Realizing the truth, Guy shouted toward the fading figures of Mitsuki and Rin:
"THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!"
After walking part of the way home together, Mitsuki and Rin said their goodbyes and parted.
Back home, Mitsuki opened his system interface:

Not bad for someone who had just enrolled in the academy. It was all thanks to the Six Eyes and its unmatched chakra control ability.
The more he practiced the ninjutsu Kento had left behind, the more Mitsuki realized just how insane this so-called "extreme chakra precision" truly was.
His natural chakra affinities were Fire, Lightning, and Wind. Kent only had Fire and later developed Lightning through training, so Mitsuki could only use his scrolls as reference for those two.
But even just one year after acquiring the Six Eyes, Mitsuki had already made significant progress—especially with ninjutsu.
Techniques like the Shadow Clone and Rasengan were essentially plug-and-play. He'd mastered them almost immediately. The Shuriken Shadow Clone, which shared similar formulaic structure with the regular Shadow Clone, was also easily adapted.
Most of his energy, however, had gone into researching Lightning chakra nature and shape transformation.
His goal?
To develop a jutsu similar to the Lightning Release Chakra Mode used by the Third Raikage of Kumogakure.
In the Naruto world, most shinobi were glass cannons — tons of offense, little defense.Mitsuki was desperate for a jutsu like Lightning Armor and its incredible defensive boost.
But lately, his research had hit a wall. Without an intensely trained body like the Third Raikage's, Mitsuki's physical condition couldn't keep up with the strain of constant Lightning chakra stimulation.
Even with the Six Eyes helping, he realized that some techniques weren't just about chakra control — they demanded raw, physical grit.
For the first time, Mitsuki genuinely began to admire researchers like Orochimaru and Tobirama.
Their genius wasn't just talent — it was obsession, perseverance, and vision.
