Chapter 4: Freya vs. The Army of Goblins

Freesia stood with her mouth wide open, too fast she thought.

Even Melnard furrowed his brow in concern.

With a sigh, he thought, It's fortunate they're not my enemies. With her speed alone,I'm afraid I couldn't defeat this woman. Then he resumed commanding his troops.

Atop the wall, Freya stood with the massive scythe resting on her shoulder, her long black hair flowing in the wind.

Her eyes fixed on the goblins below, and when she spotted a giant goblin with a scar across its abdomen, fury ignited within her.

She leapt downward and swung her scythe at the goblin. Her feet dug into the ground as the goblin beside her split in two like a burst water pipe—blood spraying as its body was cleaved cleanly in half.

With her feet firmly planted, she vanished. In a silver flash, another goblin was sliced at the waist; another flash sent a goblin's head flying through the air.

To the eyes of the soldiers, low-ranking knights, mages, and Freesia, Freya disappeared almost instantly. Only her afterimage remained—a constant silver blur—while goblin bodies were sliced in half and heads flew amidst the hundreds of invaders, met with no resistance at all.

Freesia couldn't believe her eyes; her mouth still hung open as she covered it and murmured, "How can this be?"

"How can my sister be this strong? We just escaped the goblins' attack last night. If she had been this powerful then, perhaps our mother wouldn't have met her demise."

She glanced at Hal, who stood before her, and wondered, Could this man be the reason?

Maybe my sister brought me here to meet him so I could become her maid as well. That's why she urgently pulled me along.

"If I become as strong as my sister, why not? Becoming a maid doesn't sound so bad."

Looking at her sister now—so strong and valiant—Freesia felt she could accept such a fate gladly.

Yet, she recalled rumors from the big cities: nobles don't just have maids for daily chores—they sometimes use them to fulfill their personal desires.

A sudden image flashed in Freesia's mind: being carried by Hal, her legs wrapped around his waist as they kissed passionately.

"No, no, no! What am I thinking?" she thought, shaking her head furiously. Her face flushed red, and she crossed her legs tightly, feeling a dampness that embarrassed her.

She was ashamed of herself.

Meanwhile, amid the goblin horde, Freya continued her relentless massacre.

Melnard couldn't help but wipe the sweat from his forehead in disbelief. What surprised him even more was that the woman in the maid outfit hadn't used any of her special skills—she was relying solely on her physical strength.

Seeing his kin—or rather, his minions—the goblin shaman clutching a staff growled deeply, while two giant goblins beside him growled even louder.

The goblins surrounding the shaman and the giants seemed encouraged, then surged forward in a disorganized rush, like a flurry of ships caught in a storm.

Among them were first-tier goblins, roughly the height of humans, second-tier goblins who were taller, and the giant goblins—towering at about four meters tall and wielding massive iron clubs.

Hal, observing this, remained calm. He knew that with Freya's rapid regeneration, she could not be defeated by this group of goblins.

However, Freesia and the others atop the wall were visibly nervous, worried for Freya's safety.

Melnard, though concerned, understood that Freya had yet to unleash her true skills and was eager to see what powers she possessed.

Freya continued her relentless killing spree. Even when the goblins tried to block her blows with their wooden clubs, both the goblins and their weapons were cleaved in half.

Soon, the first- and second-tier goblins reached her. They brandished iron clubs and activated their skill, Desperate Charge (D Rank), which boosted their movement and reaction speed by 50%.

This skill was common among all goblins of first tier and above—including the giant goblins and the goblin shaman.

Initially, Freya managed to kill many of the first- and second-tier goblins, but their overwhelming numbers began to take a toll.

Some goblins managed to land strikes on her, but her armor rendered the attacks ineffective. Meanwhile, those goblins suffered as their blows were reflected by 30% physical damage thanks to the Battle Maid Armor, knocking them back.

With no other choice, Freya activated the enchanted skill of her Battle Maid Boots—Great Acceleration (B Rank)—which tripled her speed for one minute.

Despite being attacked by numerous goblins at once, Freya skillfully dodged their strikes. Not only that, her speed in annihilating the goblins increased dramatically.

The Goblin Shaman could no longer stand to watch his kin fall one after another. He ordered the two giant goblins to take action.

The giants charged forward, each heavy step causing the ground to tremble, while the smaller goblins cleared a path.

Without hesitation, the two giant goblins activated their Desperate Charge skill (D Rank), boosting their speed.

At the same time, they unleashed their second skill, Rampage (C Rank), doubling their physical strength.

Their eyes glowed red, filled with malice. When they reached Freya, who was still battling the numerous goblins, they swung their massive silver clubs with tremendous force.

Clang! Clang!

Freya managed to block their blows but was pushed backward, leaving a deep line etched into the ground as her retreat.

The two giant goblins attacked relentlessly, but thanks to her enhanced speed, Freya continued to fend off their strikes.

Each clash of their strikes sent faint waves of air rippling through the battlefield, sparks flying and dust billowing with every collision.

The two giant goblins attacked once more. Freya prepared to block, but suddenly her vision darkened. One giant goblin swung its massive club horizontally, smashing into her chest and knocking her back a considerable distance.

She wasn't the only one pushed backward; the giant goblin that struck her was also sent reeling, thanks to the physical damage reflection effect of the Battle Maid Armor.

Seeing this, Freesia panicked and shouted in alarm as she stepped forward.

"Elder sister!"

"She's fine, don't worry," Hal reassured her.

Relieved to see Freya unharmed, Freesia let out a deep breath. Those watching from atop the wall held their breath in suspense.

Melnard explained, "She's been affected by the goblin shaman's skill—Curse of Darkness (C Rank). It renders the target unable to see for 30 seconds."

Freya, still recovering from being pushed back and momentarily blinded, activated the enchanted skill Perception (B Rank) from her Battle Maid Headband. This allowed her to clearly see her surroundings within a ten-meter radius.

Seizing the opportunity, the goblin shaman and the giant goblins launched another assault.

The goblin shaman cast a massive fireball toward Freya, while a giant goblin charged forward.

Boom!

The fireball struck first. Freya had no choice but to block it with her scythe, but the explosion scorched part of her cheek.

Enraged, Freya suddenly emitted an oppressive aura that everyone could feel.

A crimson mist swirled around her body, and her sparkling sea-blue eyes turned a fierce crimson.

She activated Bloodlust (A Rank), enhancing her physical abilities fivefold and instilling fear in her opponents.

Before the horrified eyes of everyone, Freya transformed into blood using the skill Blood Transformation (B Rank) and reformed behind the giant goblins who were about to strike her. With a crimson flash, she sliced one giant goblin's body cleanly in half at the waist.

Raising her hand, Freya gathered the blood from the fallen giant and shaped it into a dozen blood crystal javelins.

With a whooshing sound, the javelins became streaks of crimson light aimed at the goblin shaman.

Panicking, the goblin shaman cast a fireball, managing to block the first javelin.

However, the remaining blood crystal javelins struck him one after another, piercing his chest repeatedly.

Now, the goblin shaman resembled a porcupine, covered in numerous sharp, blood-crystal spikes.

Freya then turned her gaze toward the other giant goblin, who had been pushed backward.

Her eyes blazed with fury; this giant goblin with a scar on its abdomen was the one who had killed her mother.

She transformed into blood once more, reappearing behind the giant goblin and swung her massive scythe.

Clang!

Surprisingly, the giant goblin managed to block the attack, but its massive silver club shattered into pieces from the impact.

The giant goblin's body, propelled like a speeding train, was thrown backward. Ordinary goblins—first tier and even second tier—caught in its path were pulverized by the force and speed.

Boom!

The giant goblin collided with a higher section of the ground, sending up a cloud of dust.

The large number of goblins witnessing the attack fled in fear, scattering in all directions.

But Freya refused to let these foul creatures escape.

Bat-like wings sprouted from her back as she took to the sky.

She controls the blood beneath her, sending it soaring upward.

The blood transformed into hundreds of blood crystal javelins—powerful projectiles that rained down on the fleeing goblins.

Some were pierced through the abdomen, others through the head and out of the mouth.

Within seconds, none had escaped; all the goblins were dead—except for the remaining giant goblin who still gasped for breath.

Meanwhile, the onlookers were both terrified and awed by Freya's overwhelming power.

"Powerful! What a scary and formidable woman," they thought silently.

Determined to ensure no one escaped, Freya descended beside the heavily injured giant goblin.

She grasped its hand and methodically broke each finger, causing the giant goblin's face to contort in pain.

Then, bit by bit, she crushed its legs.

The gruesome sight made the onlookers tremble; even Freesia and Hal couldn't help but swallow nervously.

At the same time, Freya lifted the giant goblin's head and tossed it into the air. As the body fell, she slashed it repeatedly with her scythe, reducing it to pieces.
