Chapter 8 - Episode VIII: The Star, The Rain

Unlike the tribes that existed for years, the natives were something that was far beyond; their knowledge of this world was beyond the comprehension of what sapiens possessed. Though they were seen as higher beings, they were indeed humans just like the ones that served them. Honing skills that were exceptional in survival, they had grown at a rapid rate, earning a name for themselves as 'The Ones with Deep Knowledge'

Like the tribes, the natives possessed dark skin, but most of them differed, having skin as white as snow, but their lineage remained the same. But the rarest of them all was the tribe leader, who possessed light features in the hair, which was a snow-white pigment. Their leader was unknown, but whoever they were, the tribes from both good and evil could not fathom how someone possessed such features.

Morning had arrived and the Star alongside the tribes who helped her and the Flame arrived at the place many of them called home, but it was known to few as 'The Solitude Of Peace And Harmony' Songs were played by the children while the adults clapped their hands, the fresh scent of lavender from the plants lingered, which was used to block their scent from the predators.

The Star gazed in awe, her lips parted as she took in the new, beautiful world that she had stumbled into. Not only were the songs played by children amazing, but the effortless training from the tribe warriors was quite impressive. The women of the tribes, who held great beauty in all ages, worked away, preparing meals and washing the furs and skins which were used in clothing, dousing them in colour from the rocks and plants.

The buildings stood at great heights, but the trees were larger, guarding it from large predators, though with no promise that they would be safe from the beasts above the sky, which was why the archery training was important. Though out of all these great things, another structure at the centre of attraction, just at the edge of a great cedar tree, caught her eye. Unlike the others, the structure was small with wooden platforms leading up to the entrance.

Star gazed at it, not realising the many eyes that gazed at her with curiosity. Her attention was immediately brought down to the ground as the Flame was being taken away.

"Do not fret, he is merely taken for treatment," said the elder man, who assured her of the safety of the man who had saved her life from the great beast.

But the injuries on the Star's flesh were also great, though they were not enough to kill her, but leaving it open would cause danger. "Come with me," said the elder to her, "Your wound must be treated"

The Star said not a word; her actions spoke for her, and as she followed the man without complaint, her answer was quite clear to him. The other natives scattered to their respective areas, knowing what to do after a long trip in the cold forests—some rested, and those who had work continued.

Being led to a smaller structure that was wide enough to carry many tribesmen, Star was led to sit down as a group of native women surrounded her with herbs in their hands. Seeing the calm looks in their eyes, the young woman knew not how to react, but trusting them was her only option. So they began, soaking the flesh in water, which caused the young woman great pain, before covering her wounds with the herbs gathered for treatment.

After time had passed by, the wound was covered with a white cloth, which was soaked away in water which stayed under the flames. The pain was unbearable, but Star's spirit was like that of a warrior. The old man who had saved her was away, but he had mentioned that he was to return soon. Being quite obedient in her time serving as a common tribeswoman, she did as she was told, though her worry for the Flame had begun to reach its limit and another nightfall had emerged.

Trying her best to hold herself back, she could no longer take it. The solitude was quiet, and now she was able to move freely with no trouble, and just as she rose to her feet, a voice interrupted, feminine, soft and full of joy:

"You leave so soon, and I thought obedience brought forth good luck"

The Star turned to her back, hoping whatever she had heard was just a figment of her imagination, as nothing had nobody had entered this strange room since. The young woman breathed a sigh of relief, and just as she turned her head back, she was shaken and confused as to what she was seeing before her. Crouching at a position that seemed uncomfortable to most people except one was at a great height was a woman with a rather childish grin.

"Hello there, young one," she greeted with a high-pitched tone.

Star jerked back, falling back to the platform she was sitting in, which was also her place to sleep for the night. The features of the woman scared her, from the way she was crouched to the ground, she was quite tall, her skin like the loamy soil and her eyes a pale blue, but what was more interesting was the snow-white hair that barely but surely reached her back, covering her forehead like vines on an entrance leading into a cave, but at the end of each strand different colors emerged giving it colors that emerged in the sky anytime a promise was made.

It was said that these colours were a sign that the one who was known as the great being promised never to flood the earth again, his goal being to wipe sinful beings from the planet. Just like her hair, the woman's clothing was quite interesting, unable to cover her legs and thighs, but able to cover in between. Her chest was partially covered, though her hardened waist was revealed, with parts of her bosoms left out by the top attire. She was gifted with a strong body, and as soon as she stood, the height at which she stood was great; her eyes now gazing down when she looked at the Star.

The Star could only gaze at this monstrous woman, her eyes almost rolling back as she tried to look at her face. She was beautiful, but her smile was quite disapproving, her eyes squinted as she glared into the soul.

"Wow," the woman said in a childish tone, glaring at the woman from head to toe, "The elder had mentioned a woman with the same snow-white appearance as me had appeared, but I never believed it"

Star was taken aback by the woman's closeness, her huge eyes staring into her very soul, and just as this creature in the disguise of a woman raised a hand to touch what she believed to be her hair, she stood firm, ready to take her as a threat.

Seeing the difference in the young woman's eyes, the woman had apologised, dropping her hand before standing straight. She then pointed at herself with a thumb, her hand on her waist as she called out her name. Rain was what everyone called her, as two days before her birth, the rain didn't seem to stop.

Truly, the ones that existed with names as strange as this always had strange touches to them. Their looks and appearances differed from human normality; the Star differed in the hair colour that humans possessed, the same for this woman who called herself Rain and the Flame, who possessed red eyes.
