Mito POV
It's been a while since I told Naruto about the fact of who our parents were and why the village hates us, since then he has been focused on increasing his chakra control and strengthening his body. All the training methods required for the best training and jutsu were taken out of our parents estate, which being under blood seals was something I was thankful for.
Now that Naruto had his focus shifted from me, I was able to put my attention on understanding and mastering the art of seals, and thanks to my Uzumaki gift in sealing arts and new enhanced brain with parallel processing powers that it granted me, I was able to understand and master the seals that, even by the Uzumaki standards would be considered good. Oh, and trust me when I say it, the records of Uzumaki standards for seals were brutal.
Apart from that the most noticeable thing that we did was fact that one evening during winter, when Naruto was out for a walk he met and saved Hinata, yup the canon event and the one that gave us, or more specifically Naruto a follower/admirer/stalker. This made me think if there is truly something as fate or some predestined events that are supposed to happen. Well, the heavy talk can be seen later when I am strong enough and if the chat group became something that will allow me to understand these things via other members.
Now, that it is the time for me and Naruto to start the academy, I cannot wait to see what kind of game the other players will play for the time we are in the academy. Seeing Naruto excited about attending the academy, i can only smile wryly.
'Someone will definitely try to mess with us again. The other side has been rather silent so far, but I don't think the harassment will stop. I should probably talk with Naruto about this, so that he is not too disappointed and know how to act in front of everyone.'
After I explained everything to him, he looked quite depressed but bounced back saying that he did not care for the brainless sheep of the village. I totally agreed with him on that regard. So, we both started walking towards the academy.
The hatred and anger that the villagers radiated towards us was something Naruto was accustomed to by now and I never cared about the thoughts of these people, so it never affected me any ways. We quickly approached the academy and as soon as we did so, the civilians started taking their children's away from us, however the clans and their members did nothing of that sort. As expected, those after some level of skill are not swayed by the baseless rumours, as being a shinobi is all about gathering information.
Looking at the way that people were looking at us with hatred, but were too afraid of doing anything, I had a nice idea for the prank, looking at Naruto and making my voice loud enough I said,
"Hey Naruto, look these people are making a path for us. So nice of them." No matter what you say about Naruto, if you talk about a prank or a way to annoy someone, he is a genius. So, he answered quickly,
"You are right big sis; these people are so nice to make way for us unlike the other idiots that hate us without any reason." This naturally enhanced the animosity around us even further.
We walked towards the front of the crowd in front of a temporary looking pedestal. We waited for a while till the man for whom we all were made to wait came, none other than the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. The excitement of all the children around us was pretty much understandable as for them he was someone who was most important figure in the village and being called 'God of shinobi' adds a different wait to his title.
I pretended to be listening with interest, but my mind was working parallelly to dissect all his words and that is when I found something confusing. He was actively trying to brainwash everyone listening to him, but at the same time he genuinely believed in the lines he was saying about 'the will of fire'.
'Ya, the village is like a big family that abandons the children of its hero who died saving it.'
After the Hokage finished his speech after way too much time, the new students were guided into their classes. Luckily for us, both of us were in the same class.
'Oh man, I had plans for them trying to separate us from one another during the academy. All wasted. '
[What? did you expect him to try and separate you both, even I could tell that would have never worked.]
'Kurama, you make it seem like we are lovers or something and besides it would have been fun to troll his attempts to separate us. '
[You might not be lovers, but you siblings would have come with some kind of crazy prank that would make his days worse than they need to be. ]
After everyone introduced themselves, except for us who were overlooked, the teacher took out tests to "gauge the knowledge level of the new students".
'They are blatantly going to scorn us, huh? That test paper seems fishy as hell. Who writes a test on their first day of school?'
As soon as I had the test in my hand, I knew what was going on.
'A Genjutsu on top of the test, huh?'
I gave Naruto a glance and it seems like he noticed it as well. We communicated with our eyes for a moment and then came to a decision. We would just play it dumb. The more time we had to grow stronger the better - no need to blow the cover early.
After the test, we had to sit through a few more boring lessons until we could finally go home.
"Wow, that was really stupid. What did the first guy think by using such a weak genjutsu? Even I could see through it and I really suck at that."
"Sorry to burst your bubble, Naruto, but that guy's strength was around mid genin, and he just simply sucked. That's all there is to it. Since this is only our first year, they probably won't bother having any seasoned shinobi as teachers. As for the first part of your statement, I am pretty sure they don't think we are practicing at all. Every time we go out to practice, we use the henge. Additionally, there is no way the Hokage would let anybody know that his men can't follow us."
"Only mid genin? He looked like he was in his twenties yet he only reached mid genin?"
"Oh my, is my little brother getting arrogant, huh? Not everyone's growth speed is as crazy as ours. He probably noticed early on that he won't get far as a ninja and instead decided to become a teacher permanently and bully kids with his shitty genjutsu skills instead."
Naruto blushed a little after my comment but managed to recover rather quickly. He seem to have already gotten used to being teased by me huh.
"I'm not getting arrogant. I just thought it is weird that we are already stronger than one of our supposed teachers."
"Usually, I would admonish you for saying that with something like "Experience can overcome strength" or some nonsense like that, but that guy probably hasn't fought anyone for over 5 years. Even if he had some combat experience at some point, it is all gone by now."
"So, what you want to say is, that we are going to have fun with him, right big-sis?"
"Haha, correct Naruto. He wants to make us look stupid, so we naturally have to return the favor. He won't even know what hit him."
3rd person POV
It was nighttime in Konoha. Two cloaked figures darted through the shadows, silent and swift as whispers of the wind. The moonlight brushed faintly against their backs — Naruto and Mito — as they crept toward the Academy.
After reaching the Academy, Mito held up her hand, signaling Naruto to halt. Her fingers flicked through a set of quick hand signs they had agreed upon earlier.
'One chūnin and three genin guarding the Academy,' she signed.
She'd expected light security, but confirmation was always good. Knocking them out would've been easy — maybe even fun — but it would leave behind evidence and suspicion. Tonight, they wanted perfection: no witnesses, no traces.
Mito gestured for Naruto to take the lead. His sensory skills weren't quite as sharp as hers yet, but he'd been training them well. This was his chance to prove himself.
Naruto pointed upward, grinning beneath his hood. The roof entrance — of course. Using chakra to cling to the walls, the two began their climb, moving silently while the guards patrolled lazily below.
Within seconds, they reached the top. Naruto knelt beside the door, pulling out a thin piece of wire.
He started picking the lock with practiced ease.
Mito arched an eyebrow. She'd never taught him that. He must've learned it on his own — likely through some personal "experiments" around the village. She couldn't even be mad. The best way to master a skill was through real-world practice, after all.
A soft click.
"It's open, Red," he whispered.
"Let's go, Yellow."
Naruto had insisted on using code names during missions. Mito found it endearing — and honestly, a little amusing — so she'd agreed.
They slipped through the rooftop entrance, shadows gliding through hallways until they reached the teachers' office. Another quick lockpick, another soft click, and they were in.
The operation began.
They started with the classics: pins on the chair, a dash of diarrhea medicine in the coffee mug, and a conveniently placed adult magazine in an open drawer — perfectly visible to anyone walking by.
Next came the real chaos. Naruto rummaged through a stack of test papers until he found the ones from earlier that day. Mito's grin turned devilish. Together, they "corrected" the results — carefully marking answers wrong wherever they could get away with it. By the end, no student in their class had anything close to a passing score.
When the parents of Konoha's proud clans started demanding explanations tomorrow, their teacher was going to have a very bad day.
Once their mischief was done, they moved to their classroom. Mito cracked her knuckles, a gleam in her eyes that made even Kurama stir.
A wicked smile curved her lips as blue chakra flared around her fingertips. Ten glowing lines of light danced as she traced intricate seals onto the walls, floor, and ceiling — carving a three-dimensional web of fuinjutsu through the entire room.
When the final seal locked into place, the entire classroom glowed for a heartbeat before fading back to normal. No one would ever notice what she'd done. But she'd know — and she'd have so much fun with this room in the years to come.
With everything in place, the twins slipped out as quietly as they had come.
"Good work, Naruto," Mito whispered once they were back on the rooftops. "You didn't get careless even once. Your infiltration skills are improving."
Naruto smiled, scratching the back of his head. "Lately, it's been easier to sense people… like I can tell where they are and what they're feeling."
'Oi, Kurama, did you hear that? Seems like your other side is slowly warming up to my little brother.'
[Keep dreaming. He's just imagining things.]
'Hehe, sure.'
"That's good, Naruto," Mito said warmly. "Keep training, and you'll only get better."
"Yes, big sis! I'll catch up to you one day."
"Haha, I can't wait."
But just as she was about to tease him further, Mito suddenly froze.
'Oi, Kurama…'
[Yeah. I feel it too. Anger. Grief. Hatred. Despair. All swirling from the same place.]
'Something's wrong. Let's check it out.'
[WHAT?! Why?]
'I told you about my past life, right? I always wanted to know why did no one in the uchiaha clan was unable to stop Itachi and Obito from massacring the entire clan. Why did they not even leave any of the children alive? Even if it was an order of the Hokage and Danzo, what made Obito have such hatred towards his own clan, and why did Itachi not ask the children to be spared?'
[You're insane.]
'Maybe. But I know what I'm doing.'
[I sure hope so.]
Naruto frowned, sensing the shift in Mito's tone. "Big sis, what—"
"Don't ask questions, Naruto." Her voice was calm, but firm. "Go home. Stay inside. Don't follow me. I'll be back later, perfectly fine — I promise. Understand?"
He wanted to argue, to help. But when he saw the fierce glow in her purple eyes — eyes that burned like molten amethyst — he stopped himself.
"Y-yeah, big sis. Good luck."
Her serious expression melted into a proud smile. "That's my brother. See you soon."
Naruto relaxed at that familiar grin. 'If it's big sis… everything will be fine.'
