"This guy really knows how to show off," Yuu muttered, watching from the shadows, speechless.
Conan remained silent, lighting the fireworks he had prepared beforehand. "Pop!" The fireworks ignited.
"I'm setting off fireworks," Conan said, turning to Kaito Kid. Conan's fireworks drew the attention of the police already prepared below. Inspector Nakamori began ordering helicopters to investigate.
"Look, there's a helicopter! It seems they've already noticed this place!" Conan said, pointing at the helicopter as he spoke to Kaito Kid.
"…" Kid examined Conan carefully. "Little friend, you are not an ordinary child."
Conan turned around and said coolly, "My name is Edogawa Conan, and I'm a detective!"
"Oh," Kid's expression didn't change.
"Mr. Kaito Kid, if you don't escape soon, the helicopter will be here!" While speaking to Kid, Conan secretly opened his watch-type tranquilizer gun behind his back. "I'll only have one chance to shoot him with the tranquilizer gun, at the very moment he turns to escape!"
But just then, Conan saw Kid take out a walkie-talkie. "What is he going to do?"
"Ahem." Kid cleared his throat and said into the walkie-talkie, "This is Nakamori. I've discovered traces of Kaito Kid on the rooftop of the Haido City Hotel. Therefore, all patrol vehicles near the hotel and museum, as well as all helicopters flying over Beika, begin assembling at the scene to arrest Kaito Kid!"
"This guy actually mimicked my voice!" Inspector Nakamori gritted his teeth in anger. "No! This is a trap he set! All vehicles and helicopters return immediately!" But by then, the police couldn't distinguish between him and Kid.
"What?" As the police downstairs fell into chaos, Kid, unhurriedly, mimicked Inspector Nakamori's voice: "It's me! Nakamori! All comrades stationed at the Haido City Hotel! Kaito Kid is on the rooftop! Everyone, hurry and surround him! You must capture him!"
"Amazing!" Conan, watching Kid commit crimes helplessly, was even more dumbfounded. Kaito Kid could freely mimic various people's voices without any machines.
Inspector Nakamori was also stunned when he heard Kid mimicking his voice. He ran towards the rooftop while telling his subordinates, "That's not my voice, it's Kid! He's using our voices to gather all the police to his side!"
"What does he actually want to do?" Conan was very confused by Kid's actions.
All at once, all the helicopters and police forces converged. The hotel rooftop was lit up like a grand stage by various searchlights.
"Are you satisfied now, little detective?" Kid said to Conan with a calm smile, as if all those police were just air.
"Don't move! Kaito Kid!" Inspector Nakamori pushed open the rooftop door and aimed his gun at Kid.
"Inspector Nakamori, you still arrive so early," Kid said, greeting Inspector Nakamori as if meeting an old friend.
"Stop blabbering, I've already deciphered your letter and been waiting here! I guessed you would directly fly over with a hang glider, so I dispatched people to monitor all hotel personnel and guard the main entrance. I didn't expect you would actually land here in a roundabout way from Tokyo Tower. Give up that Black Pearl, because now you have nowhere to escape!" Inspector Nakamori said viciously.
But Kid said softly with a gentlemanly demeanor, "The reason I came here to visit you all is just for a rehearsal, because I have no intention of stealing that Black Pearl at all!"
"What?!" Inspector Nakamori was startled and slightly lowered his prepared stance.
"Huh? Didn't I already say at the beginning of that letter? April Fool's Day! Of course it's fake!" Kid finished speaking, then pressed a button with a whoosh, and a beautiful white hang glider unfolded behind him.
But Nakamori didn't care about rehearsals or not. He ordered his subordinates, "Don't let him fly away, capture him!"
"Yes!" The police began to surround Kid.
Just then, Conan saw something fall from Kid's body. Before he could react, he heard a "boom," and a flash of light blinded everyone.
"Flashbang!" Conan shouted.
"Little brat, you know quite a lot," Kid's arrogant voice came from the light. "Great thieves are creative artists who beautifully steal their prey. Detectives can only follow in their footsteps; they are nothing more than critics!"
After the flash of light, Kid was gone. Only a group of police remained, surrounding the smoke and searching for Kid's shadow. "He... disappeared!"
"Helicopter! Quickly use radar to track him!" Inspector Nakamori quickly ordered, but the helicopter reported finding nothing. "Damn it! He got away again!"
Conan looked at the scene in disbelief. "This is a joke! Humans… how can humans disappear so easily?!"
Inspector Nakamori suddenly saw a piece of paper float down from the sky. It was Kid's letter again: "On April 19th, I will go to the Salibeth, departing from Yokohama Port, to take the genuine Black Star! Kaito Kid."
Yuu, in the shadows, revealed a hunter's smile upon finding prey. "I found you! Kaito Kid!"
