REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC313: Chapter 313- Meeting with Jenny (1)
"I—impossible?!"
Yao Lian gazed in shock as she witnessed hundreds of cultivators, once soaring majestically in the sky like birds with wings, begin to plummet to the ground.
Nothing made sense; how could these formidable individuals be killed so easily?
Even if the swords they wielded were imbued with some kind of extraordinary energy by Rui Ke, she couldn't fathom how they were succumbing to their wounds so effortlessly.
Feeling a wave of confusion wash over her, she turned her eyes toward the man beside her.
Initially, his unusual attire had caught her off guard, but now his actions left her even more astounded.
'Is this truly his strength?' she wondered silently.
Part of her wanted to grasp the full extent of his power, but asking him directly felt out of place.
Instead, her gaze fell downward as a sense of despair settled in.
Naturally, she had previously believed him to be incredibly strong—very strong, indeed.
Yet she had thoughts of becoming even more powerful herself once she reached the main peak, learned from the most skilled professionals and elders, and honed her own abilities.
Perhaps then she could stand against a man who had overpowered the patriarch of the Wei family.
But this entire situation was a perplexing eye-opener.
There seemed to be no conceivable way for anyone to kill so many elite cultivators in a single assault.
Even if he possessed an advanced technique, Yao Lian had only ever read in books about masters being able to control ten or twelve swords at most.
It required an extraordinary level of consciousness and mental strength to manage such a feat, and yet he was wielding over a hundred weapons with effortless control.
His mastery extended far beyond mere accuracy and precision; it was a level of control and power that made it seem as though death had no effect on him at all.
His eyes betrayed neither fear nor emotion as he watched them die before him.
[Host, how did you manage this?]
Let alone Yao Lian, even the system seemed puzzled.
Although it was controlling the swords using its own processing power, providing no pressure on Ryuk's mind, he imbued those weapons with energy. However, the confusion was why all of these people, holding this amount of energy, were getting effortlessly pierced through the defenses of those cultivators.
'Where is Jenny?' Ryuk commanded inwardly, choosing to focus on finding her rather than pondering the question of the system.
Upon arriving, he had noticed a pattern among the pavilions—the cultivators were relying on the spiritual vein to fuel their internal energy.
It was akin to using the entire space as a communal energy source, established by connecting their bodies to the golden spiritual veins located within the inner pavilion.
They were essentially tapping into a single energy source.
It resembled a water tank supplying several streams of water to various areas; if the source were contaminated, all streams would be affected.
Understanding this principle, Ryuk, who was now wearing the artifact suit, which, unlike his previous outfit, enabled him to conduct his ability.
He nullified the spiritual energy vein within the inner pavilion directly.
His feet remained firmly grounded as he continued to neutralize the spiritual vines while tracing the energy pathways connecting to the cultivators.
This process created a chain reaction, nullifying their internal energy, much like a virus infecting a main computer that subsequently corrupts all connected networks—unless, of course, they are severed from the source.
However, it became evident that in their battle against outside intruders, they had tapped into the spiritual energy residing within the inner pavilion to gain maximum strength and boost their fighting capabilities.
Yet, one thing that Ryuk noticed was unsettling: these infiltrators—who appeared intent on attacking—were also connected to the same spiritual vein.
This could only signify one thing: those who had assaulted this place were either already aware of how to harness the energy source present in the inner pavilion or were traitors who had betrayed the Celestial Phoenix Order.
"I-imperial soldiers..."
'Or not...' It was the Empress, her voice barely more than a whisper, that broke the tense silence behind him.
In her exhausted state, she could hardly speak aloud, but Ryuk understood.
The individuals confronting them in the sky had knowledge of this spiritual vein only because they hailed from the Monarchy.
To be precise, the Jade Dominion was ruled by a monarch wielding two swords: one belonged to the Celestial Phoenix Order, and the other to the Heavenly Dragon Domain.
Given that the Empress had passed the first and second trials on her own—she being the very one who had created them—it became clear that the spiritual veins of the Inner Pavilion were also a creation of hers.
This meant that the people from Monarchy had gained insight into how to utilize it.
Now, the pressing question remained: Why were these individuals attacking the Celestial Phoenix Order?
From Ryuk's perspective, it became apparent that not only had the Empress, who now stood weakly behind him, gotten herself killed, but she had also allowed her power to fall into the wrong hands.
"Aghhh—Thud!"
Finally, the last person crumpled to the ground, leaving behind a grim scene filled with corpses.
Ryuk, ignoring the horrific tableau, moved forward, while Esme, slightly more affected by the sight than he was, hesitantly followed suit.
It wasn't the loss of life or the lying dead corpses that unnerved her; rather, it was the dense accumulation of internal energy she sensed gathering like a tornado above the main palace.
This was clearly visible from the peak at the top of the stairs before her.
"Wait! Are we going to leave just like that?" Yao Lian said, looking at them as they left.
She couldn't believe these people were not even paying attention to the talismans, elixirs, and spiritual pills scattered around.
Even the high-grade weapons made using cold steel were lying on the ground, while they ignored them as both of them moved.
"Huh? Why? Do you want to help these people?" Esme asked without turning back while she kept moving.
Unlike Ryuk, who was mostly avoiding stepping on dead bodies, she was just walking over them, not caring, stepping over someone's head, hands, back, as if she didn't care.
She nonchalantly gestured with her hand and directed her words to Yao Lian.
"Of course not. Don't you people want their weapons?" Yao Lian glanced towards the fallen bodies, thinking about how they had dimensional pouches on them, clearly indicating they would be used for other very costly things.
But she was hesitant, seeing how Esme and Ryuk were not interested in this.
"....Y...ou wan...t it?" Xiu Ying, with her body already on the edge of withering, lifted a pouch that appeared to be a dimensional pouch holding several rejuvenating pills which she needed.
But fearing that these people might attack her, given that her body was already weak, she offered it to Yao Lian.
"Huh? What? Me?" Yao Lian, who was hesitant due to embarrassment and seeing so many people with their inner energy already exhausted, didn't want to stay here while following behind those two.
But hearing that woman's voice, she halted and looked as she saw her gathering those things.
For a moment, narrowing her eyes, she looked keenly at that woman, also in her dirt-stained clothes, with a tattered body and a very thin physique, making anyone pity her.
Even her facial expression appeared ghostly.
'.....' Glancing between that woman and those two who had already reached the stairs leading to the main palace,
Yao Lian decided to collect valuable things with this woman instead of following them, adding, "No, it's fine, I will search for something myself."

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC314: Chapter 314- Are you Young master Rui Ke's Sister?
"Here, you can have it," Yao Lian said, stepping forward while holding out a pouch filled with healing pills. She had noticed the malnourished woman searching desperately for it and offered it to her.
"....th..ank..you," Xiu Ying managed to utter in a weak voice, struggling to form complete sentences due to her frail state.
Her heavy eyelids drooped as she looked down, her hands, thin like twigs, trembled as they clutched the pouch.
'Why....' Yao Lian thought, keenly observing the behavior of this emaciated woman. This intrigue was the primary reason she had chosen to stay back rather than follow Rui Ke and Esme.
Initially, she wished to avoid engaging in battle; her strength had not yet fully recovered, and confronting those people would only create more problems for her.
Besides, she could sense how easily Rui Ke had killed numerous cultivators in a single stroke.
Yao Lian realized that her presence might only hinder Rui Ke's efforts, so she opted to remain behind for now.
The other compelling reason was her curiosity about this woman.
When they reached the gate of the inner pavilion, Yao Lian's attention was diverted when Rui Ke unexpectedly called someone from behind.
She was bewildered, having assumed someone stronger was lurking in the trees.
To her surprise, the woman emerged from the forest unscathed, contradicting Yao Lian's expectation that she would have been consumed by a monster.
Considering all these factors, Yao Lian pondered Rui Ke's enormous strength and the unusual attention he paid to this woman.
Unlike Yao Lian, who often felt disregarded by him—as if she were merely a servant—this woman seemed to hold some significance.
This curiosity compelled Yao Lian to seize the opportunity when she saw Rui Ke and Esme heading toward the main palace, feeling the intense surge of internal energy emanating from it like a tornado.
Thus, while Rui Ke battled whatever resided in the palace, Yao Lian intended to extract as much information from this frail woman as possible.
She made sure to speak softly, aware that the woman looked as if she might collapse at any moment or suffer a heart attack.
"So, where are you from?" Yao Lian inquired gently, ignoring the items lying around.
She had already secured all the valuable things she found in her spatial pocket, thus granting herself time to observe as this woman foraged like a rag picker.
"I-I…," Xiu Ying stammered, having already discerned the intentions of the woman in front of her.
It was clear from the very beginning that instead of joining her companions, this woman had chosen to remain behind, collecting various items yet lingering here, seemingly eager to engage her in conversation.
The woman's motive was unmistakable: she wanted to learn more about Xiu Ying.
Xiu Ying had anticipated this encounter ever since the moment the young man recognized her.
His acknowledgment had brought unwanted attention from everyone around him, making her situation increasingly precarious.
With lineage tied to the Devereaux family, the young man possessed a mental capacity that far surpassed that of any ordinary Legendary Rankers.
It was evident he had a promising future ahead, one where his growth would likely be exponential.
Xiu Ying could gauge his mental strength from the way he single-handedly controlled hundreds of weapons, a feat that had momentarily taken her by surprise.
While the technique itself wasn't particularly powerful, the sheer mental ability to accomplish such a task was impressive.
What shocked her even more was the sudden disappearance of the spiritual veins within the inner pavilion.
They didn't merely dissipate or have their energy drained; they vanished entirely, as if all the accumulated essence from thousands of years had been reduced to nothingness.
"....Lower town," Xiu Ying finally replied, her voice tinged with hesitation. She lifted her gaze to scrutinize the young woman before her, who clearly possessed the Moon Essence Physique—an attribute particularly well-suited for double cultivation.
Xiu Ying's keen perception revealed a black-colored root embedded in this woman's soul, an indication of her enslavement.
With her formidable soul strength, the Empress of the Jade Dominion had the ability to see through flesh, to peer into what lay beneath the surface.
At this moment, she could clearly assess Yao Lian's plight.
However, her attention soon drifted toward the main palace.
Despite feeling weakened due to a recent problem with her real body, she could still perceive that this young woman was a mere sex slave to that man.
'…I must leave,' Xiu Ying thought, troubled by the revelation.
Even her extraordinary vision, which could easily penetrate flesh, faltered against that young man.
She found herself unable to discern anything beyond the superficial—his bloodline, bone age, and physical size, all of which were readily apparent.
For the first time, her ability to see beyond the surface had been obstructed by something powerful enough to shield him.
With the two women encircling him, Xiu Ying deduced that this young man likely reveled in gathering women, indulging in carnal pleasures, and accumulating material possessions.
These realizations compelled her to escape, yet she couldn't shake her curiosity about how he had come to uncover her true identity in the first place.
Previously, she had observed how those who resided at the pinnacle of their strength often stammered and succumbed to the allure of materialistic desires.
Unlike them, she had devoted herself to enhancing her soul strength, losing interest in worldly possessions.
"I can guess that much..." Yao Lian furrowed her brows as she glanced at the woman who appeared nothing more than a beggar, instantly revealing her origins from the lower town.
The real question was how this seemingly weak woman had managed to reach this place and even gotten Rui Ke's attention.
Yao Lian hesitated; she couldn't simply force a confession from someone as fragile as Xiu Ying.
It was evident that a mere touch could spell doom for her.
Moreover, since Young Master Rui Ke had personally shown interest in her, Yao Lian chose to refrain from taking any aggressive measures.
Xiu Ying, however, chose to ignore Yao Lian, focusing instead on her task of collecting objects imbued with any amount of spiritual energy.
Though her recovery wouldn't be complete, these items could still help restore her physical strength.
Living in her current body was overwhelming, and knowing that the young man was aware of her, she feared the cruelty he might be capable of inflicting upon her.
Additionally, she had to confront Idolse Rhea, the one who had betrayed her and stolen her body.
Just as she was about to pick up a small dagger, intending to imbue it with spiritual energy, an intense sensation of sword intent reached her.
It was powerful enough to suggest that something significant was approaching.
She instinctively turned to gauge the source, spotting a woman emerging from a portal.
The newcomer was clad in an army uniform, with one eye covered by an eye patch.
"...Sword Valley?" The words escaped Xiu Ying's lips without her conscious intent.
In her current state, still unfit for her strong soul, she struggled to maintain control over her emotions.
Her whisper was barely audible, but she clearly saw the woman's gaze narrow as if she had heard the words clearly.
"Who are you?" Yao Lian demanded, charging her body with internal energy as she observed the intruder approaching. Yao Lian held a sword that suddenly flickered with flames, causing her to narrow her gaze.
The amber eyes and mask felt oddly familiar, prompting her to raise an eyebrow in confusion. After a moment, Yao Lian spoke again, her voice steady.
"Are you the sister of Young Master Rui Ke?"

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC315: Chapter 315- Husba—Ahem
"Haah... Haaah..." Jenny gasped, her chest heaving as she stood over the pile of bodies, her daggers slick with blood.
Her arms trembled from exhaustion, yet her stance remained firm, eyes scanning the chaotic battlefield around her.
"Young miss, please!" a voice shouted from behind.
It was one of the remaining members of the Phoenix Order, his face streaked with dirt and blood as he struggled to fend off two attackers. "You have to run! Get out of here before it's too late!"
Jenny's vision swayed for a moment, her body teetering on the edge of collapse. She could barely hear him over the roar of battle and the pounding in her ears.
The exhaustion from killing so many cultivators was taking its toll, but she forced herself to stay upright.
Running away wasn't an option.
"I won't!" she hissed, staggering but regaining her footing. Her bloodied hands tightened around her daggers. "If I die here, so be it. But I'm not leaving my people behind."
A wave of energy surged toward her as a group of dark-robed cultivators advanced, their leader, a burly man with a scarred face, grinning maliciously. "Look at her—barely standing! This'll be easy!"
Jenny's lips twisted into a snarl. With the last remnants of her internal energy, she surged forward to meet them head-on.
Her body felt like it was moving through water, sluggish and slow, but she pushed through, dodging the first man's strike by a hair's breadth.
Her daggers flashed in retaliation, cutting deep into his side.
"Aghh!?" He let out a strangled cry before collapsing, clutching the gaping wound.
Another came at her, his blade slicing toward her throat. Jenny ducked, her legs buckling under the strain, but she managed to parry his strike and counter with a quick jab to his neck.
Blood sprayed from his wound, and he fell to the ground, eyes wide in shock.
"Young miss!" another desperate shout echoed from a distance, but it was drowned out by the sound of Jenny's heartbeat pounding in her ears. Her vision blurred, the edges darkening as the world spun around her.
Her legs finally gave out, and she collapsed onto her knees, gasping for air.
'Damn you, Ryuk... You killed them all...' she cursed inwardly, her vision fading as she began to tumble forward, her strength completely spent.
Just as she felt herself falling into the abyss, a powerful aura surged around her.
The air itself seemed to hum with energy as a figure appeared, catching her before she hit the ground.
Jenny's eyes snapped open, and through the haze, she recognized the person holding her up. "G-Grandma?" she rasped in disbelief.
The matriarch of the Celestial Phoenix Order stood before her, radiating an aura so intense that even the strongest cultivators on the battlefield paused in fear.
The pressure of her presence alone caused the ground to tremble, and the sky darkened as internal energy swirled around her like a storm.
"Rest, child," the matriarch's voice was calm but carried an edge of fury. "You've done enough."
The remaining members of the Phoenix Order let out a collective gasp as they recognized the matriarch's arrival.
Their spirits lifted as the strongest among them had finally appeared.
The palace, once teetering on the brink of collapse, now seemed fortified by the sheer force of the matriarch's power.
The dark-robed cultivators stood frozen, their arrogance drained as they felt the overwhelming force that now filled the battlefield. One of them, trembling, muttered, "The... the Matriarch is here..."
"Indeed," the matriarch spoke, her voice carrying across the battlefield. "It seems the Empress has lost her mind, sending such weaklings to die."
Before any of the enemies could react, the matriarch moved.
Her body became a blur, an afterimage left in her wake as she darted through the ranks of enemy cultivators.
In an instant, light streaked across the battlefield, followed by the sound of bodies collapsing one after another.
In a mere heartbeat, the dark-robed attackers were no more, their bodies falling lifeless to the ground.
Jenny, though on the verge of unconsciousness, managed to lift her head slightly, watching the display of power.
Her heart swelled with a mix of relief and awe as she saw her grandmother standing amidst the wreckage, her aura still blazing, the last of their enemies reduced to nothing but corpses.
"Grandma..." she whispered, her voice weak but filled with gratitude.
The matriarch turned, her gaze softening as she knelt beside Jenny. "You've fought bravely, Jenny. Now rest. The Phoenix Order still stands, and we will finish this."
"Will you really?"
The chilling voice sent a ripple of silence across the scene.
'?!'
Jenny's heart stopped for a moment, her blood running cold.
She stiffened, her eyes wide as she spun around.
Standing at the edge of the palace stairs, bathed in the dim orange glow of twilight, was a man.
His hands rested casually in his pockets, his black suit absorbing the light, making his presence even more menacing.
His eyes, once a golden hue, slowly shifted to a piercing amber, glowing with an eerie intensity as he stared down at them with a smirk curling at the edges of his lips.
"R-Ryuk?" Jenny's voice trembled, the name barely escaping her lips.
Her heart raced uncontrollably as memories—no, nightmares—flooded her mind.
Her body froze in place, a shiver running down her spine as her hand instinctively flew to her neck.
She could almost feel the sharp, cold blade slicing through her neck once more.
The memory was too vivid—how he had killed her, mercilessly, without hesitation, in her past life.
'No, no, no!' That single moment, replaying over and over in her mind, the pain, the terror.
Her legs trembled, weakening beneath her, and she stumbled backward, her breath coming in shallow gasps.
Fear gripped her so tightly that her fingers dug into her own flesh, trying to anchor herself to the present, but the past kept pulling her back, suffocating her with its horrors.
Her chest heaved, and she felt bile rising in her throat as she looked at him.
The mask covered part of his face, but even with it, she knew.
She would never forget him—his eyes, his aura, that cold, heartless smirk.
He hadn't changed.
He was the same monster who had ended her life once, and now he stood there, as if mocking her existence again.
'Why does he want to destroy my family again? I did nothing to him!?'
Panic swelled inside her chest like a rising tide.
Every inch of her body wanted to run, to escape the terror standing before her.
She was suffocating under the weight of his gaze.
But then—her fear began to morph.
It twisted into something darker, deeper—rage.
Her trembling lips curled into a snarl, her grip tightening on her daggers, her knuckles turning white as that fury consumed her fear.
"Grandma!" she yelled, her voice thick with desperation and anger. "It's him! He's the one—"
But before she could finish, her vision blurred.
The world around her started to twist and contort, her limbs felt heavy, and a numbing cold spread through her body.
Her voice faltered, her words dying in her throat as she staggered forward.
Her eyes, once burning with rage, began to dull, losing their spark.
Her body betrayed her, refusing to move, as though something had taken hold of her very soul.
"Wh-what....?" she mumbled, her voice faint and confused.
A soft breeze rustled beside her, and suddenly, a figure appeared, stepping out from the ethereal mist.
A woman dressed in a white, flowing gown stood at Jenny's side.
Her golden eyes, filled with a strange mix of tenderness and malice, stared down at Jenny, her lips forming a small, knowing smile.
Esme.
She placed a gentle hand on Jenny's head, as if soothing a child.
Jenny's body swayed, her eyes unfocused, slipping into a trance, falling completely under Esme's illusion.
"Rest assured," Esme spoke softly, her voice carrying an ominous undertone. "She will feel hell, yet not die."
Her eyes flicked toward Ryuk, a mischievous glint in her gaze. "You can continue...Ahem, Husban—it's hard" She paused, a faint blush creeping across her cheeks as she coughed delicately, remembering the permission Ryuk had given her when walking the stairs.

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC316: Chapter 316- How Cute
A few moments ago,
Ryuk and Esme walked side by side up the grand staircase leading to the main palace.
The atmosphere was thick with the weight of unspoken words.
Their footsteps echoed softly as they ascended the stairs, Esme's gaze occasionally flicking toward Ryuk, who remained silent.
"Why don't you ever call me by my name?" Ryuk broke the silence, his voice carrying a hint of curiosity.
Esme raised an eyebrow but didn't respond immediately; instead, growing slightly flustered, she increased her pace, walking a few steps ahead.
But before she could get too far, Ryuk's hand shot out, gently grabbing her wrist and pulling her to a halt.
"At least call me something," he said, his voice low and playful, "or else, what will you do if someday you need to find me? If you can't even call my name or tell anyone about me?"
Esme stopped in her tracks, turning to face him, her golden eyes narrowing slightly. "Are you planning to vanish somewhere?" she asked, suspicion creeping into her tone.
Ryuk, tilting his head, let out a soft chuckle.
His golden pupils shifted, slowly darkening to an amber hue as he used his ability, nullifying her illusion that had been subtly influencing his eye color to be golden.
"Of course I would," he said, his voice teasing. "If I don't get a call, some title... by you, that is."
Esme bit her lip, the weight of his words sinking in. Given her own strength, which wasn't physically strong, it was possible for him to escape somewhere without her.
Given that their relationship had not progressed toward intimacy or any kind of stability from her side, it was possible that without something to hold on to, he could disappear from her world entirely.
She sighed, her voice softening. "Fine, but don't think this changes anything."
Ryuk smirked, his grip on her wrist loosening. "So...?"
Esme hesitated, feeling her cheeks warm. "H-husband," she mumbled, quickly looking away, her embarrassment evident.
Ryuk's smirk grew wider, clearly enjoying her discomfort, about to add, "How about hubby or honey, instead?"
"Wh-what?" Esme flustered, hearing him mention those words so boldly though she was completely controlled, but it was too much for her given they were just a mist preparing to fight, prompting her to just mutter under her breath, "H-honey."
Ding!

'....' Ryuk was just trying to calm his mind, given that he was trying to control his anger due to knowing that he would soon see Jenny once again, making all the memories definitely not something good.
This prompted him to intentionally lighten the mood by teasing Esme, but this stupid system just ruined it.
Ryuk wanted to suppress his killing intent, which he definitely had control over, given that it was not the first time in this life that he was going to see Jenny.
The issue was that in his past life, he had seen Jenny's adult version as a betrayer.
This was why he had felt less anger toward her small child's body when he arranged her massage from Carlien.
But today, he was going to see her adult self—an adult self that was a spitting image of the person who dared to backstab him and who remained stubborn until the end.
So, he was just trying to lighten the mood. Of course, he could still control it, but he really felt that no matter which story he read in his past life, he had never seen such a terrible system like this.
By the time Esme collected herself, she changed the subject, hoping to escape the teasing. "By the way, what are we here for? To fight again?"
Ryuk's mind was pulled out of his thoughts as he glanced towards Esme, stretching his hand as he looked at the wide range of mountains, with the fog nearby appearing as if they were in the sky, creating a beautiful landscape for sightseeing. He added, "I told you once—there were people who betrayed me."
Esme's mind flashed back to that day in Titanora when Ryuk had briefly mentioned betrayal. It had been vague, but she remembered enough. That day, he had killed a flag bearer who had disturbed them in a very good way.
"I remember," she murmured, her golden pupils narrowing. She had never pried into that story, knowing the weight it carried. But given that she felt this was the reason why he always seemed close yet distant from her, she felt anger towards those people.
"Yes," Ryuk said, his voice colder now. "One of those betrayers is inside that main palace." His words, even though calm, caused Esme's eyes to turn cold, her hand clenched, as if more than Ryuk, she was determined to get back at those who dared to harm him.
"I see." Her mind was set—whoever had betrayed Ryuk would pay the price.
But curiosity tugged at her, prompting her to ask, "Who is it?"
Ryuk's smirk returned, this time more cryptic. "You'll recognize her at first sight, for the clue is, who makes the worst horrified face would be her."
Back in the present,
Esme's hand rested on Jenny's head, trapping the girl in her illusion while remembering how this young woman was the only one who saw horror etched on her face.
Though she heard from Ryuk that he was betrayed by this woman, seeing her horrified face made it appear that she was traumatized by him, not him by her.
Forgetting about all those things, she shook her head and tried to focus, but the memory of him forcing her to call him husband was still lingering.
Suddenly, her thoughts were shattered by a sharp sound—WHOOSH—a faint whistle as a blade sliced through the air.
Esme's golden eyes snapped open, her senses instantly heightened.
In the blink of an eye, a sword's blade surged toward her heart, its speed so incredible that the sound of its cutting swish followed the blade's arrival.
Even more disorienting was the delayed yelling that reached Esme's ears: "Leave my granddaughter alone!"
She barely had time to process it, her gaze darting to the source of the threat.
There stood the matriarch, suspended mid-air, her fierce expression and inhuman speed radiating danger as her sword came down with lethal precision, aimed directly at Esme's chest.
But before the blade could penetrate, it met metal with a resounding.
CLANK
The sound reverberated through the air.
Ryuk's sword had materialized between them, effortlessly deflecting the matriarch's attack. His amber eyes blazed with cold intensity as he held her gaze, his entire form enveloped in an orange aura.
"Stay away from her," he commanded.
With a fluid motion, Ryuk spun around, delivering a powerful kick that sent the matriarch stumbling backward.
"Kughh!?"
Screeech!
"Haa..." The matriarch gasped, her grip tightening around her sword as she skidded to a halt, glaring at Ryuk with a barely contained fury.
In stark contrast, Ryuk remained calm, almost indifferent, lowering his sword while keeping his eyes locked on her.
He had entrusted Esme to handle Jenny, confident that she could manage her, all the while considering the plot armour that often surrounded heroines.
His composure was reassuring, especially with Regina now entering the fray.
With a deliberate movement, Ryuk pointed his sword, which began to shimmer with an orange glow, while his hand emanated an amethyst aura.
His gaze remained fixed on the matriarch, and as he prepared to dash toward her, he declared, "How cute. It seems you've forgotten to mention how my eyes have become my saving grace today."

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC317: Chapter 317 - Jenny's Memories (1)
"Jenny, why do you always seem so isolated?" a voice asked, pulling a little girl slowly from her thoughts.
Her eyes fluttered open as she began to observe her surroundings, lifting her hand to see a bandage wrapped around it.
She found herself seated in a room that was luxurious and extravagant, as if part of a palace, while at the same time very familiar.
'Where am I?' Jenny wondered, memories flooding back of the last horrifying image of the man who had killed her and had once again come in an attempt to kill her family once again.
"Jenny, are you okay?" the voice called again, breaking through her reverie. She looked up to see a boy sitting just an arm's length away, his deep amber eyes focused on her.
With one hand, he was giving the bandages back to a maid standing nearby.
"R-Ryuk?" Jenny gasped as recognition washed over her. The same boy who had shattered her life was now seated before her.
Her mind swirled with confusion, her eyes wide as she processed the sight of him—the same gaze, the same face.
She hesitantly reached out her hand to touch his, confirming he was real.
"Hm, at least you've started to follow my orders," he remarked with a faint smile. He glanced at the slave he had bought a few days earlier, recalling how she had spent that time yelling and resisting, often getting herself injured.
Each time he had appeared, she had only shouted at him, prompting him to use his authority as a slave owner just to get her to call him by his name.
Seeing her suffer from the effects of the slave seal, he had wondered if she would continue to fight against him.
But now it appeared she had healed, at least partially.
"What, you basta—I want to go back!" Jenny attempted to protest, her anger bubbling beneath the surface. She wanted to lash out, to punch him for her suffering, but somehow her body remained frozen, as if she were trapped in a memory of her childhood.
Her mouth moved against her will, echoing words that felt foreign to her, 'Wait, what is happening?'
"Jenny, you need to think calmly," Ryuk urged her, his voice steady. "Your parents literally sold you into slavery, do you understand?" He repeated the message he had been trying to convey for days.
His intentions for reaching out to her stemmed from a deeper understanding of the fate that awaited her; he did not wish to play the role of the villain, nor did he want to see her destiny align with heroine role.
'Damn you!' Jenny yelled, though her words only echoed in her thoughts. She yearned to kill the boy standing before her, convinced that he was responsible for all her suffering. Yet, her body betrayed her, repeating her earlier words: "They were in need of money; please don't blame them."
"...Jenny, what if someone other than me had purchased you?" The boy narrowed his gaze, taking in the downcast and weakened posture of the little girl.
Although he wanted to say more, it seemed futile; she wouldn't understand him.
'Bastard! Because of you, I got sold to that bitch Carlien!' Jenny yelled within her mind, recalling all the torment she had endured since being bought by someone other than him.
She was tormented by the thought that he could have saved her, but he hadn't come for her at all.
"Anyone would treat me the same..." Jenny murmured, echoing her words from that moment in time, fully aware of how she had been treated in the royal family over the past week.
Memories flooded back of throwing tantrums, yet they provided her with good food. She was convinced that if Royal family treated her this well, any nobleman would have acted similarly.
"...Is that so?" Hearing those words, the boy stood there, disappointment etched on his face.
He realized how naïve the girl was, and though he didn't blame her—a simple little girl—he understood that, unlike him, who possessed an adult mind reborn in this world, she had no idea how the real world functioned.
She was just a little child.
Knowing he couldn't simply impose his perspective on her, he understood that it would be futile.
He decided to adopt a slower approach, guiding her to understand without pushing her into rash decisions.
Mature from his past life, he took it upon himself to help her see the harsh reality of the world rather than the rosy, deceptive image she held in her mind.
He firmly instructed the maids with authority, "Keep an eye on her; if she needs anything other than to leave this room, provide it."
'Damn you! Let me go... no, what is all this?' Jenny thought, feeling a whirlwind of confusion. She didn't understand why she was being force-fed these nightmares, reliving painful memories over and over again.
She knew she wasn't to blame; it was him who...
Who...
'What did he do again?'
Suddenly, another womanly voice reverberated in that place as everything turned black and white for a moment.
Jenny's mind froze, not understanding what exactly he had done to her.
As it did, her eyes turned towards the direction beside her, where she saw a silhouette of a glowing white womanly figure.
She appeared completely humanoid with golden eyes, giving that figure a completely different look than a normal human.
'Hm, it's confusing; you seem to have two memories in this body.' Esme, looking towards the black and white world where she was currently inside Jenny's mind, looked towards the little girl, stretching her finger as she placed it on her forehead. Thinking for a moment, she finally reached a conclusion.
'Oh, so you are regressed back to the past.' Using one hand, she punched the palm of the other as she understood why Jenny had two memories as one inside her mind.
Esme felt everything was now making more sense, prompting her to separate both memories.
Instead of focusing on present life, she filtered out those belonging to the past, as from her perspective, she understood that the reason this girl seemed to hate Ryuk had something to do with her past life.
'Wh-who?! Who are you and what's going on here?!' Jenny's eyes widened. Though she was not in her physical form, but just a mere consciousness looking towards something that was playing with her mind, she yelled out, inquiring with complete shock, trying to understand who this woman was.
'Let's fast forward,' Esme, ignoring Jenny's voice, snapped her fingers as Jenny's mind started to play out all the scenes while her consciousness yelled.
'Stopppp! Who are you!'
The feeling of this could be compared to how the human brain stores memories as data while the consciousness uses those memories to maintain its existence and make decisions.
However, those memories didn't determine the personality of the individual, and presently this consciousness had no control over the brain, which was flashing the memories.
It was similar to another consciousness infiltrating the brain while using memories.
'Hm, nothing particularly angry one,' Esme went through the memories as she naturally found the confusing behavior of Jenny, where she acted immaturely while growing, having her perspective completely deteriorate to the level that she took everything for granted.
Though Esme's interest was in that boy's memories, she wanted to know more about him.
And definitely, she was not skipping all the memories where Jenny was alone and only playing those where that boy was present.
Yeah, definitely not; she was here for work.
Not to see her hubby's childhood pictures.

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC318: Chapter 318 - Jenny's Memories (2)
"Aaahhh! Stop! No, please! We were just in desperate need of money!" a middle-aged woman pleaded desperately as two guards seized her arms, dragging her toward the execution platform.
The man already standing there began to scream, his voice filled with terror.
"You highness! Please, have mercy on us! We were helpless!" the man cried out, his eyes wide with fear as he stood on the platform, a gleaming blade poised dangerously above his head.
Four or five soldiers surrounded him, their expressions cold and unyielding, making it clear that no one would heed his pleas.
Nearby, a child no older than twelve, who had ordered their execution, stood silently.
"Helpless enough to sell your daughter? Then why continue living? Wouldn't death relieve you of that helplessness?" A young boy, clad in black, stood with his hands tucked into his pockets.
Despite his youth, at just eleven years old, his demeanor exuded a chilling maturity that belied his age.
"N-no! Please, have mercy! Jenny! Save me!" the man's desperation peaked as he glanced toward his daughter, who was now standing beside the crown prince of the Selvius Kingdom.
"D-dad?! Your highness! Please, forgive them!" Jenny's voice trembled as she fell to her knees, tears pouring down her cheeks.
She was clearly in shock, having recently begun providing her family with money from the royal palace.
She had been sending funds to her parents, believing they needed assistance to pay off their debts, only to be brought here today to witness their execution.
'…This monster,' Jenny's consciousness thought, feeling a disconnect from the pain of her former family.
Perhaps it was because she had found a new family that loved her more than her previous one, but it still bewildered her that she couldn't entirely ignore the fact that Ryuk had shattered her old life.
'Tch, my head hurts,' Esme mused, having sifted through most of the memories up to this point. She felt overwhelmed, grappling with feelings of frustration.
She couldn't comprehend how someone could possess such a low IQ.
In all those recollections, she witnessed an individual throwing tantrums at every turn.
Even more puzzling was Ryuk's demeanor; he had never taken a submissive stance or simply relinquished whatever Jenny wanted.
His orders had always stemmed from a sense of kindness rather than weakness.
He instructed her to enjoy whatever she desired without leaving the room, yet she continuously demanded more—more dresses, more food, and every time she wanted to leave, she would throw a fit if her demands weren't met.
Esme had started to regret her decision to even try to go through memories of this woman whose name was Jenny.
It had already been 12 years since this woman's birth, and not once had Esme found anything in her memories which could provide a proper reasoning for her to hate Ryuk.
Prompting her to ask, 'Hey, why do you hate him this much?'
'What?! Why do you ask! That bastard killed my family!' Jenny suddenly heard the strange woman who was just making her go through all the pain of those buried memories yell out, showing her frustration about why she was so angry at that man named Ryuk.
'My head....' Esme rubbed her forehead though her body was not exactly in a human form but more like a humanoid shadow.
Still, she really felt annoyed having a conversation with this mindless girl who didn't even understand what would have happened to her if she were sold as a slave outside this small kingdom called the Selvius Kingdom.
'Anything else?' Esme inquired further while using a bit of her illusion to prevent this idiot from repeating those same words again and to give her some clue or time where Esme would be able to see the valid reason for her anger towards Ryuk.
'He killed me! I was in pain! Bleeding!' Jenny yelled out, remembering the suffering she had felt, getting her neck cut off.
It was beyond anything she could have ever imagined, looking into those eyes as he mercilessly cut off her head.
'Hm, pain and bleeding,' Esme contemplated for a moment, nodding, realizing that even though she didn't have time, she could just view the memories tied to pain and bleeding.
Even the emotional sensations would be extreme at those times; she just snapped her fingers to see and directly play those moments where Jenny's emotions were at their peak.
Suddenly, a room that appeared to belong to one of the insides of the royal palace materialized.
Pah Pah Pah
"Ahh… oh God… yes, yes!"
The room was dim, lit only by the flickering glow of a few candles, casting long shadows over the spacious chamber.
On the massive king-sized bed, a man lay beneath her, his powerful body half-hidden beneath silk sheets that barely clung to him.
Above him, her pink hair cascaded down her back, damp with sweat from the heat building due to an intense session.
Pah pah pah
She straddled him, her thighs trembling as she moved up and down with a frantic, desperate rhythm.
"Ohh… I can't… ahh… more…!" she moaned, her voice raw and breathless, echoing in the still air. Her fingers dug into his chest as she leaned forward, grinding her hips against him, their connection slick and heated. "Yess… mmm," she whimpered, each bounce sending a shockwave through her body, her breasts rising and falling with every gasp.
'Bitch,' Esme felt her mouth twitch, seeing the shadow of this same idiotic woman, whose memories she was going through, appearing naked while riding someone.
'Waaah! Change this memory! He forced me at that time!' Jenny's consciousness yelled loudly, as if trying to hide the voice through its own remembering how she was forced that day.
"Mmm… right there… yes… ahh! It's reaching my belly! Angghh"
'Yes, I can see that you are being forced to be here.' Esme, due to having her immunity of consciousness, felt no emotional effect. There wasn't any emotional response on her face as she grimaced.
The bed creaked beneath their motions, the sound of skin meeting skin blending with her soft cries.
"Jenny, I told you, it's fine," lying down on the bed, the man voiced clear words aimed at the woman whom he told not to force herself, given she suddenly said how she wanted to show him her loyalty, and he could trust her.
He had even thought of how he should, in exchange for having her innocence today, free her from her slave seal, even though he would have done it without all this, but she pressed to do it.
"Ahhh… I'm so close… ahhh! J-just third time let me cum!!" her voice grew louder, more frantic, the sensation overwhelming her. Her head fell back, pink strands tumbling down as she lost herself in the rhythm, her moans becoming sharp and breathless, her body moving instinctively, consumed by the moment.
'Stop this! He forced me!' Jenny's consciousness yelled out, remembering the day when Diana had told her how she would be freed from slavery if she did the deed with him, and in exchange, after returning the money which he spent to purchase her, she would be free.
It was just that Diana told her to experience how good he was!
'I was forced!' Jenny yelled.
'Yes, I can see a horny pig in heat who is moving itself.' Esme rolled her eyes.
"Annghh! Harder! Please, I beg you....."

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC319: Chapter 319- Jenny's memories (3)
"Can we really kill him?" A pink-haired woman wearing a cloak stood inside a place, looking toward the direction where Amayara was lying while being crushed under the feet of another woman.
'What the heck?' Esme thought about looking at a new scene.
They had just transitioned from a scene where a girl, who was talking about killing a man, had been acting like an intense lover engaged in the pinnacle of ecstasy in the previous memory slide. Now she was standing there, contemplating his death.
'What nonsense?' Esme couldn't understand what kind of rotten brain cells this woman had to even have the audacity to think everything should align according to her whims.
Even after seeing those memories, she felt like killing this woman hundreds of times.
Even though Esme was just a reader right now, going through all these memories like some story, rather than experiencing firsthand how stupid and messed up Jenny's perspective was.
But, whatever
Esme was more than under control, given that she had emotional immunity whenever she used her illusions or infiltrated another person's mind.
Her ability provided a mechanism where those people's memories and emotions couldn't influence her.
No matter how pitiful their memories were, she would not feel any pity or sympathy; her emotions would become null at that moment.
But even with her emotions being suppressed, Esme felt genuinely pissed off while going through all the memories Jenny possessed.
This was utter garbage.
If Esme had to summarize all the things she had seen until now, it would be: a sadistic woman who would have been beaten by a nobleman on a daily basis if not saved by a savior still demands to know why she was treated well.
When that savior tried to expose the reality of this world to her, she acted as if she believed him before backstabbing him.
Of course, all these memories weren't in chronological order given that memories are not stamped with time; the mind always forgets many in between while keeping only those that have some value.
Additionally, there were several distorted memories that contained errors, with some of the individuals' faces not clearly visible.
'Now you are seeing how much I suffered!' Jenny's consciousness cried out as all those memories that had been buried deep down were flashing one after another, prompting her to remember the moments of pain when she just wanted to save her family but found them killed.
'Why are you still alive?' Esme felt utterly confused. Though she was in control of her emotions, she was genuinely surprised that a foolish person could still survive in this world, let alone remain alive after betraying Ryuk.
Naturally, anyone in his place would have killed her in the first place.
Let's forget about that; even this world would have rejected a low IQ person like her.
Then how the hell did she still survive in this harsh world with that childish mind of hers?
'What?' Jenny's consciousness tried to show its confusion at Esme's voice.
Unbeknownst to Esme, Jenny, even though having a modest perspective of this world, still survived due to having very strong plot armor, giving her the boost to remain alive until the end.
'Diana seems manipulative, Amayara is pitiful, Alia seems...isn't that my sister?' Esme, who was going through the memories while recognizing and remembering those women, suddenly halted at one of them, looking at a physical appearance that definitely matched the memories of her sister, who also had the same name.
But again,
'No...is she really?' Esme, just for curiosity, found Alia similar to her sister's physical appearance. She started to go through all the memories of the journey where Alia was present.
And naturally, she found that.
Not just similar; it was her sister.
'Eh?'
'Leave me, you monster!' Of course, Jenny's voice had to come in between to disturb the things.
'I see, so my sister betrayed him, hmm.' Esme didn't react emotionally, only because her ability was working naturally.
Right now, she was devoid of any emotion, like a machine just going through the stories.
There were no emotions, but only processing, where her mind was taking decisions without letting any emotions influence her thoughts about this particular thing.
Literally, if it were her real body with emotions, seeing these memories and even the revelation that it was her sister, she would have been distraught beyond control.
That would have made her mind fill with trauma that would have made her doubt if Ryuk came to know about this, what would be his reaction.
Would he really accept the sister of a betrayer?
But right now, it was her judgment mechanism, not emotions.
Knowing the effect this memory would have on the real body, she lifted her finger and snapped it.
As she did, all the memories of Alia inside Jenny's mind started to distort. It was too fast and enough to erase the existence of such an individual found inside Jenny's memories by Esme.
In conclusion, to protect its real body, her ability, due to caution, had sealed its own memory about finding her real sister.
'Next,' Esme snapped her finger again, playing the continuation of memories.
Due to not having enough knowledge about the identity of each individual, except recognizing some of them like Alisia Devereaux and others.
But it was a useless memory.
There was no clarity given that Jenny's mind had started to forget these things and was trying to fill the gaps.
All were distorted, so except for seeing some figures having conversations and a memory where an unknown woman had pressed down that bodyguard young woman, Esme wasn't able to see clearly that woman's face nor get much useful information.
The major part which played in the role of destroying those memories were the forced consciousness of Jenny believing what her mind thought being true, portraying things in a distorted way where even her memories were influenced to the point where everything that occurred was filled with intense emotions, just like how when her family was getting executed, the emotion it had at that time was outrage and anger towards the crown prince of the Selvius kingdom.
But due to the emotional filter on, Esme was immune to all this. Or else, her own perspective would have been influenced, making her feel sympathy for this woman.
It was similar to how a reader interprets a scene where a man saves a little girl from an accident but dies.
While their minds process this whole scene from their perspective, some would consider how heroic he was, while others would think of how foolish and idiotic he was to not care about his own life in order to save the girl.
Right now, Esme's state of entering someone's mind was similar; she was seeing, or more specifically, reading the thoughts.
"Aaaahhh! You monster! He was innocent!"
"Of course he was, after killing thousands with his own hands and then blaming me for not being righteous."
Suddenly, another piece of memory began to play, and surprisingly, this was crystal clear, not distorted, as if it was embedded in her very being.
It prompted each emotion, expression, and everything was clearly visible, giving Esme the space to process what she saw as she looked around and found a whole battlefield drenched in blood. It was hell, a complete hell, and in that hell stood the man.
The man whom she recognized at first glance.
'So, these are those seven.' Esme looked towards the bloodied bodies of seven women scattered across the battlefield.
Though she was able to recognize a few of them, due to Jenny's distorted memory—which was most likely a result of her low IQ—she wasn't able to identify the others, but she knew their names: Henna and Maria.

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC320: Chapter 320- Trapped
"....." Yu Shao-Yan glanced at her hand, noticing that even after she had enveloped her body in internal energy at the last moment, the impact from the collision was considerable enough to create a distinct tremor.
However, she also realized that the swordsmanship of this young man was quite unrefined; when his sword met hers, it was evident that his strike lacked finesse and relied heavily on brute force rather than skill.
'....' Ryuk, standing just in front of Esme, who was placing her hand on Jenny's head while seemingly lost in her own world completely, tightened his grip on the sword, which was leaking a clear malicious intent to devour. Ignoring it, since it didn't have any effect on him, he focused on the woman in front of him.
Currently, considering the circumstances, he found himself at a disadvantage if he were to confront Lady Yu directly.
Despite him possessing brute strength, this woman was the matriarch of a cultivation family, successfully defending against most external threats. Additionally, she bore the title of one of the two swords of Jade Dominion, underscoring that this confrontation was a contest of skill versus sheer power.
"Have you finally decided to show yourself, Lady Yu?" Narrowing his gaze as he observed how she seemed to be analyzing things with composed demeanor even though her granddaughter was like a hostage right now, Ryuk called her out.
"Waking up just a few months ago, you seem to be a loud buzzing bug." Despite her calm demeanor and those words that seemed impassive, the sheer power she radiated sent waves across the battlefield, silencing the whole atmosphere enough to fill it with intense pressure that made it hard for anyone to stand on this battleground.
"A bug? Quite the word coming from someone who runs away out of fear." Ryuk didn't hesitate to mention the event that had occurred in Selvius's kingdom during his childhood when this woman's soul projection had arrived and then left after trying to execute a soul attack but failing and noticing his eye color. Seeing no reaction on her face, he inquired, '....Anything useful?'
[ Host, she isn't showing any reaction to your words; her mental strength is too high. ]
[ Analyzing for weaknesses. ]
The system began to analyze any weaknesses hidden within Yu Shao-Yan. However, this approach was impractical in battle because it took too much time to identify any weaknesses without letting the target become aware of it, which posed a significant disadvantage in a short fight, as had been the case previously in Ardoros.
At that time, when Ryuk faced Drishti Devereaux, her strength was so overwhelming that in a fight, if it occurred, not even one minute would pass before the battle ended, which prompted Ryuk to solely use his own strength instead of the system's.
Time was crucial at that moment given the enemy was too overwhelming, but right now, looking toward Lady Yu, he at least was able to hold his ground for two minutes or more.
Indeed, defeating her alone was out of the question given he was not strong enough, but who needs to be strong when you are in an advantageous position?
:: Liege, should I help? ::
'....Call back all the members of your battalion,' Ryuk ordered instead of having Regina help him. He instructed her to call back the members of the Devereaux family's first battalion stationed outside the continent, with a clear intent to not risk a single thing.
Right now, he was not just looking at a single enemy in front of him. He was well aware that those who had infiltrated and attacked the Celestial Phoenix Order were from the faction that killed the Empress.
This made it clear that if a battle occurred, where he sacrificed his health and energy, even if he defeated her, the end result would be fatal if suddenly a third party ambushed him.
:: Liege, what if we get surrounded from outside? ::
Regina seemed to weigh the pros and cons of the issue which could occur if someone from the outside attacked them when they were dealing with things inside.
'Hm, so we need a shield, isn't it?' Ryuk, hearing the words from Regina, understood the chances of getting surrounded, given that the battleships were also stationed outside, and it would be a hassle to use them in such a situation.
This prompted him to form a smile thinking about a meat shield which could provide great help in such a situation, adding, 'If something like this happens, we would just rush through them while keeping Jenny in front.'
[ Woooaaahh! What a masterpiece plan, Host; you are a true genius 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜 ]
'....' Ryuk, hearing the system's tone which sounded more like mocking, really felt that the system was underestimating the strength of plot armor, not understanding how, even possessing so much strength himself, he had a hard time dealing with even this woman, who should have been the easiest one to kill in his past life.
To be exact, in the battle of his past life he noticed how whenever his sword was about to cut Jenny, suddenly Edward or someone always arrived, deflecting his sword strike, leaving the easiest target among the group unscathed until the end after Maria.
After all, only Jenny in the last life's battle remained standing.
All of them were either lying down in a bloodied state or had almost lost their lives. But she was struggling while standing, even though she was the weakest after Maria in the group, making it clear how strong her plot armor was. (Chapter 1 for evidence).
In short: A perfect heaven-blessed meat shield.
"Bringing someone from Sword Valley, aren't you making your last struggle?" Yu Shao, who stood while not even trying to attack, sensed the presence of a woman with a very sharp sword intent. It was far overwhelming, comparable to her own. Both of them could be considered a match in sword prowess.
Given that the woman belonged to the Devereaux family and was from Sword Valley, she must have held a very strong position, making it clear she would also have experience with the ways the Devereaux family operated—committing genocide, destroying races, and killing people—proving how, at this disadvantageous position, there was a clear difference between her, who killed monsters, and that woman, who killed humans.
Killing humans and monsters are two different things, and Yu Shao was just holding her blade back due to the presence of that woman; otherwise, there was no reason for her to stay put and not deal with this young man who was nothing but a child with a strong sword—a child who had a weapon but lacked the skill to use it.
"How dare you underestimate me! Regina, leave this place! I, Ryuk Devereaux, shall put this woman in her place."
[....]
"....I understand, My Liege." Regina, suddenly hearing words from her liege while noticing how he had pointed his sword towards that woman while using a tone that he didn't normally use, felt confused, as even he seemed to force himself to say those words like that.
But being an obedient subordinate, she just nodded before her body once again turned into a streak of light and returned, leaving the inner pavilion with the intent to call back other members of her battalion.
'What about now?' Ryuk, pointing his sword in front, knowing well that his acting must have some effect on the woman who had such strong mental fortitude, inquired, thinking that now she might start attacking him while not remaining on guard or thinking there were more members from the Devereaux family waiting outside the Jade Dominion.
A perfect plan to let her guard down.

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC321: Chapter 321- A Battle
'Hmm...' Yu Shao slowly averted her gaze from the inner pavilion, observing Regina as she shifted her eyes toward the young man standing before her. It was perplexing to realize that he had made a grave mistake, yet she refrained from attacking immediately.
Instead, she took a moment to contemplate the reasons behind his actions—why he seemed intent on sending Regina away from this place.
Yu Shao could see through his deception; he appeared to believe that Regina's departure would alter the course of this battle.
However, if Regina were present, there might still be a chance of victory. But with her not present, the odds seemed less favorable.
Slowly, Yu Shao took a step forward, her figure blurring in an instant.
Swish
In a heartbeat, Yu Shao Yan's form flickered out of existence, leaving her previous position vacant.
'Surround Esme with Conduit!' Ryuk's gaze sharpened as he struggled to keep track of her silhouette, which darted around him with a speed that was nearly impossible to follow.
It wasn't just simple speed; it was the precision behind it that made her movements hard to read.
His attention was divided between Esme and the battle he was about to fight.
[Initiating a 1-meter dome around the target.]
An invisible dome encased Esme, lying dormant until someone breached its boundary.
Swoosh!
A flash of light sliced through the air before Ryuk as Yu Shao Yan's sword narrowly missed his neck, grazing the space where he had stood just moments before.
Her movements were a captivating blend of grace and precision; the blade flowed through the air like a wraith, executing each strike with flawless efficiency.
Yet, Ryuk was not caught off guard.
Tapping into his raw strength, his body began to glow with an orange hue, hands gripping the sword shrouded in an amethyst aura.
As his grip tightened, he maneuvered and twisted, landing a blow in midair, but Yu Shao created a distance between them by leaping back.
'System, is it still not complete?' Ryuk silently inquired, feeling the sharp pressure of air caused by the sword strike made when she was leaping, but his aura withstood the sharp air shot.
[Host, please hold for a little longer.]
'....' Ryuk loosened his body, slightly leaning back before launching a forceful shot at her, bringing his sword forward.
clank
Both of their swords collided, sending sharp strikes throughout the place and leaving cut marks on the ground all around.
Although he was channeling energy into his aura, Yu Shao Yan's speed seemed to be increasing.
It wasn't just about velocity; the way her sword moved was both precise and rapid.
He had the strength to withstand her strikes, but he couldn't shake the feeling that each of her attacks was meticulously aimed at a single, vulnerable spot.
Yu Shao Yan's eyes shone with an intensity that could be felt, her pupils darting rapidly as if tracking his every precise movement.
In an instant, her body lunged back and then forward, maintaining a speed that was nearly imperceptible to the naked eye.
Her sword, a gleaming blade adorned with a phoenix crest etched along its surface, flashed once more—this time targeting his heart.
Ryuk's muscles coiled in preparation as he raised his forearm, cloaked in an amethyst Ether, to block the incoming strike.
He had just fended off her last attack with his sword, and the angle from which her sword approached forced him to rely on his arm rather than his sword, making his counter much slower.
Crack!
The impact of her strike sent a shockwave rippling through the ground, causing cracks to form beneath them.
The force of her blow seemed to push him downwards, but a second sword strike followed in quick succession, colliding against his firm posture.
Although he managed to repel her attack since his body was shrouded in dense Ether, the residual force was still palpable.
'He managed to stop it?' Her eyes flickered with a hint of surprise at the sheer brute strength he displayed.
Given the internal energy she had infused into her sword, enhancing its sharpness, she had anticipated that her strike would have a significant impact.
The fact that he could block it with just his forearm—especially when she had intentionally channeled more power into her attack—was unexpected.
She had assumed that even if he could mitigate the blow, the shockwave would likely inflict damage on his internal organs.
But there he stood, clenched jaws tight, clearly enduring the force that struck him.
"Kughh!?" Ryuk gritted his teeth when he felt the impact sending ripples through his internal muscles.
He could sense that if such attacks continued, it would be increasingly difficult to withstand, especially as she had targeted the most vulnerable point on his wrist—right where his amber and purple auras mingled.
He was boosting his current strength by using both auras to enhance his speed and power to prevail against her.
One thing was unmistakable in this battle: it was not merely a battle of brute strength or sheer energy.
It resembled a clash between a bull and a man; the bull might possess incredible power, but the woman's technique and the fluidity with which her sword moved were wholly unpredictable.
"Impressive," she murmured, skillfully retreating, her sword still held with poise and precision. "But strength without skill is no more than a boulder tumbling down a mountain—predictable and easily dodged."
Ryuk let out a deep, rumbling chuckle that echoed across the battlefield. "And skill without power is like a feather caught in the wind—fragile and easily torn apart."
He lunged at her, his fists a blur as they targeted her midsection. The sheer force of his attacks caused the air around them to ripple with intensity.
Yu Shao Yan exhibited impeccable footwork, her body shifting gracefully as she dodged with minimal effort, her sword parrying his strikes with barely a touch.
Yet, each time their weapons or bodies met, the impact reverberated through her arms—a stark reminder that despite her precision, his overwhelming strength could shatter her defenses if he landed a hit.
The rush of air and shockwave produced with each movement of his fists made it clear that even if her body were enveloped in internal energy, the crushing force of his blows would still be enough to overwhelm her.
She could also discern that he had transcended into the levels of perfect LEGENDARY strength.
No, his physical strength and energy were far stronger than anyone normal at that level.
The evidence was clear; cracks had already formed in the main palace building due to the shockwaves generated by his strikes.
The mountain peak itself trembled whenever he moved.
Despite this overwhelming power, he seemed to be holding back, as if he were trying to protect someone.
'It can't be that girl,' she thought, her sword danced with agility as she unleashed a series of rapid slashes that left trails of energy in the air, while her eyes glanced towards Esme and Jenny.
Ryuk met her blade with his fists—he had quickly realized that using a sword against her would be a grave mistake.
Each strike he delivered pushed her back, the raw energy radiating from him causing the ground beneath them to tremble violently, as if struck by an earthquake.
If it weren't for the spiritual vein reinforcing the mountain, it would have surely crumbled by now.
'Damn it?!' Ryuk exclaimed, suddenly noticing a flicker in her gaze directed at Esme. It struck him that she had identified his weakness before he could uncover hers.
In a moment of determination, he swung his fist in a wide arc, aiming to crush her with a single blow.
However, Yu Shao Yan's reflexes were nothing short of lightning-fast.
She spun gracefully on her heel, her sword flashing upward in a brilliant arc that not only deflected his punch but simultaneously delivered a sharp, precise slice across his chest.
drip drip
Blood sprayed from the wound, yet Ryuk didn't even flinch.
"You'll need more than that," he grinned, casually wiping the blood away. 'Heal it...'
[Initiating Auto-Healing....]
[Purchasing Auto-Regeneration = 120,868 Kill Points]

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC322: Chapter 322- Yao Lian's choice
The system, without hesitation, initiated a purchase from its shop. It rarely resorted to this option, as doing so might attract the suspicion of the Nexus Grid.
However, given the urgency of the situation—and with a staggering 1 billion kill points stored—it made the decision to acquire the necessary item.
But, as always, it had to navigate through the transaction window. This was why the system remained vigilant, carefully avoiding any choices that might draw unwanted attention from the Grid.
"Let's see," Yu Shao Yan took out a dagger from her spatial ring and instantly threw it towards Esme, who was standing beside Jenny.
As she anticipated, Ryuk's figure instantly arrived and caught the dagger, causing her eyes to narrow, as she found a big weakness of his.
"Can't you even care for your granddaughter?" Ryuk imbued the dagger with Ether and directly threw it back towards Yu Shao Yan, who easily dodged it by sidestepping.
"She will be safe," Yu Shao Yan kept her eyes glued on Ryuk, clearly sensing that this young man had something to do with Jenny, leading her to believe that he likely wanted something and therefore couldn't harm her. She continued, "I know you can't harm her."
[....]
Skchlt!
"Ugh...." Jenny groaned while in her trance state.
"What? Weren't you the one who said I can't harm her?" Ryuk, holding the sword, which he had twisted back, pierced near the heart of Jenny, who was seated, lost in her world.
drip
Blood gushed out of her mouth in that drowned state as he tilted his head and looked towards Yu Shao Yan with a blank gaze, as if her calculations were wrong.
"My Daughter!" Suddenly, a scream tore through the place, causing Ryuk and Yu Shao Yan to turn in the direction where a woman, followed by the Phoenix Order guards who had evacuated her moments ago, arrived here sprinting towards them, escaping due to fear for her daughter.
"Hey, Yao Lian! What are you doing lazing there? Come help me!" Ryuk, from the main palace, looked at the bottom of the peak through the stairs and saw Yao Lian standing there while having a conversation with that malnourished woman.
"Heh? Wh-why me?" Yao Lian, due to her internal energy, was able to hear the voice from that distance. She looked in the direction where she could not see anyone, given the slope of the mountain peak, but she knew that he was calling her, prompting her to turn her gaze downward and glance towards the malnourished woman, adding, "Hide here, I will come in a moment."
Though she could clearly see an intense amount of internal energy and how the whole mountain peak, from where the stairs joined the main palace and inner pavilion, had cracks on it, revealing how much force was exerted from above, she hesitantly followed his words, taking a leap as her internal energy was somewhat recovered and walked up the ladder.
"Haah... Haa... What happened, Young Master Rui Ke?" Yao Lian, trying to save her internal energy, had exerted much force on her body sprinting.
As she finally arrived at the peak and looked around, she found a sight—Rui Ke stood with a sword in his left hand, turned opposite while piercing the heart of a woman seated on the ground, while Esme's hand rested on that woman's head.
"Shoo, go catch that woman," Ryuk said, seeing Yao Lian instead of collecting garbage down there finally arriving. He pointed with his eyes towards Jenny's mother, who was sprinting in their direction while struggling with the guards, who were trying to stop her for her safety.
'What, am I your dog?!' Yao Lian felt her mouth twitch. Though turning her attention in that direction, she flinched the moment her eyes landed on a familiar figure, causing her to slightly bow, greeting, "Greetings, Matriarch....."
'!'
As she greeted her, she suddenly noticed the state of the matriarch, seeing the dust marks all over her body, while her breathing was visible and the density of internal energy around her was low, as if she had just gone through an intense battle, leading her to glance towards Rui Ke and think, 'Don't tell me, did he?'
The first doubt that came to mind was whether the sensation down in the inner pavilion she felt as an earthquake was caused by a battle between these two.
But more shocking was the fact that there were no wound marks, not even dirt, on Rui Ke's clothes.
Unbeknownst to her, it was an artifact that had auto-clean properties, and given that the wounds were regenerating, there were no marks left on Ryuk's body from the battle. Of course, he was much more damaged and wounded than Yu Shao Yan.
"You? Aren't you the daughter-in-law of the Wei family? Have you sided with outsiders?" Yu Shao Yan narrowed her gaze as she observed Yao Lian. Having seen her previously, recognizing her wasn't difficult. She looked disappointed, seeing one of her own there on the side of outsiders.
"Huh? No, of course not, Matriarch—" Yao Lian suddenly shook her head at the matriarch's words, overwhelmed by her presence.
However, she had not had a positive image of this matriarch, who never went out of her way to save the Lian family from the Wei family's suppression.
Still, given this woman was the highest in hierarchy here, she showed her respect but was interrupted.
"Yao Lian, why are you greeting that old hag? Come here and go stop that woman," Ryuk raised an eyebrow as he once again called out Yao Lian. He didn't want to use the Grimoire right now, as it would just create a hassle if Yu Shao Yan found out about the way he used to enslave someone, making his last resort futile.
"Huh? Yes," Yao Lian, though she clearly wanted to reject outright, had changed her perception given that this young master had just one-sidedly defeated the matriarch of the Celestial Phoenix Order.
Even though there was no decisive winner, seeing that her clothes bore the tension of battle while the young master's remained untouched, Yao Lian could guess who was stronger among them.
Thinking that if she helped the matriarch, who had always turned a blind eye to whatever the 18 major families did to the lower ones, she decided to take the side of this young master, who at least seemed arrogant but not enough to harm her in any way.
She somehow understood that most likely after the work here was done, this young man would leave, making her relieved that once he did, she would have a chance.
So she took his side.
"My daughter!" The woman, seeing the state of Jenny lying there, seemingly lost in her thoughts and not even conscious, while blood trickled from her mouth and her clothes turned crimson due to blood flowing from the wound near her heart, shouted.
Due to the interference of the Heavenly dragon domain, she had lost her daughter at an early age, kidnapped and thrown out of the continent. She always felt broken inside until her mother found Jenny on another continent.
There was hope. She had waited for her daughter's return. As she did, she had not even glanced at a single thing outside. Yet everything had turned like this.
Once again, lying in front of her, Jenny was drenched in blood and was about to die. Yet the matriarch of the Celestial Phoenix Order, who was Jenny's grandmother, was doing nothing except standing there just like before. It pained her, causing her to yell, "Leave my daughter alone!....!"

REINCARNATED AND REGRESSED VILLAIN - MAKE HEROINES BEG FOR FORGIVENESSC323: Chapter 323 - A Mother's Agony
"Haaah....Haah...." I could barely breathe, my legs trembling with each step, but I couldn't stop.
Not now, not when every inch of me screamed for my child.
It had only been two days since I delivered her, two days since I held her for the first time—fragile and perfect.
My body was weak, too soon for this exertion, but none of that mattered.
My child needed me.
The corridor stretched endlessly ahead, dark and suffocating, the air thick with something unspeakable.
My heart pounded against my chest, each beat a desperate plea.
I could hear the servants ahead of me, their hurried footsteps and concerned voices fading in and out of my awareness.
"Please, lady, don't overexert yourself! Wait, wait!"
But their voices were nothing more than background noise.
I could only think of her.
My child.
My beautiful, innocent Meiyue.
I could still feel the weight of her tiny body in my arms, her warmth, the scent of her skin.
"No, no, my child, my child!"
My breath came in ragged gasps as I stumbled through the halls, my hands clutching at the walls for support, the stone cold against my palm.
I couldn't stop.
Not now.
The doors loomed ahead, and with what little strength I had left, I pushed them open, my vision swimming.
Inside... Inside were the people I feared to see.
Elders of the Celestial Phoenix Order.
Their presence meant something terrible.
My knees buckled, but I forced myself to stay upright.
My gaze darted around the room, searching, hoping, praying... but all I saw was an empty cradle.
An empty cradle.
I could barely comprehend it, my mind refusing to accept what my eyes were seeing.
And then, I saw her.
My mother.
The Matriarch.
She stood still, her gaze fixed on the cradle, her face unreadable.
But I knew her well enough to see the tension in her clenched fists, the way her jaw tightened.
Something was wrong.
My voice cracked as I called out to her, "Mother... where is she? Where is Meiyue?"
Slowly, so painfully slowly, she turned to face me.
Her eyes, usually filled with unshakable resolve, were hollow.
Cold.
She looked at me, but there was no sorrow, no regret, no... nothing.
"I'm sorry, my child," she said, her voice devoid of any emotion. "I was not able to save Meiyue."
Her words hit me like a blow.
I staggered back, my hand flying to my mouth as if to stifle the scream building in my chest.
Not able to save her?
No... no... it couldn't be true.
She was the Matriarch, the strongest of us all.
She could move mountains with a word, command the winds, bend the elements to her will.
Yet here she stood, not even trying.
Not even looking for her.
I looked at her, desperately searching for something, anything, to explain this... this failure.
But all I saw was resignation.
She wasn't even trying.
She had given up.
Her fists remained clenched at her sides, and I could see it now—the subtle tremble of her hands, the way she averted her gaze.
She was hiding something, bound by something stronger than even her immense power.
But she didn't fight it.
She had chosen not to fight it.
For what?
For who?
My legs gave out beneath me.
I fell to the floor, my body shaking uncontrollably, sobs wrenching from my throat.
The world around me blurred, my vision clouded with tears.
I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't think.
My heart... my heart felt like it was being ripped apart from the inside.
"Meiyue!" I screamed, the sound tearing from me in agony, in desperation.
The pain... gods, the pain of it was unbearable.
I clutched at my chest, as if I could somehow hold myself together, as if I could stop the pieces of me from breaking apart completely.
But it was too late.
She was gone.
My child, my precious baby girl, gone.
I wailed, loud and broken like a wounded animal, my cries echoing through the room.
No one moved.
No one spoke.
The elders, the Phoenix Order, even my mother—they all stood there, silent, as if my grief was just a passing storm they had to wait out.
I had never felt so alone.
Days turned into months, and months into years.
The hollow ache in my chest never left, a constant reminder of what I had lost.
Every day felt like I was trapped in that dark fog, wandering, searching for Meiyue with no hope of ever finding her.
Until one day, my mother, who suddenly felt the awakening of the Phoenix bloodline, used soul projection to detect its origin.
"I've found Meiyue," she said, her voice soft but certain. "She is inside the Heindal Continent."
Her words hit me like a storm.
After all these years, I finally had a glimmer of hope.
My child, my Meiyue... she was alive.
The tears that had dried over the years broke free again, unstoppable.
But even with this newfound hope, I was still bound—restricted, just like before—as my mother revealed that someone from the Ardoros continent had restricted anyone from entering the continent.
I waited, knowing she was safe at least, but the pain of not being able to go to her, to save her, tore at me every day.
When the gates to the Heindal continent finally opened, I didn't hesitate.
I went.
I had to bring her back.
I had to see her, hold her again.
But when I found her...
She was weak, battered, and broken in ways I couldn't comprehend.
The life she had lived—the life she had been forced to live without me—had left scars too deep to heal.
I didn't cry.
I couldn't.
If I broke, she would break with me.
So, I held it all in, pretending to be strong, pretending to be whole when all I wanted to do was fall apart.
But now, today...
---
"Stop! Leave my daughter alone!" I screamed, my voice raw with desperation as I burst through the doors of the palace. I had received word from Mahila that Ryuk Devereaux had broken through the middle pavilion's formation.
And the Elders, amidst a civil war, had left Meiyue behind, evacuating under some false pretense. They had abandoned her.
I rushed to where she was, my heart racing, my mind consumed with the need to protect her.
Swoosh
The air shifted. Before I could react, a force slammed toward me—a wave of flames, sharp and lethal. Instinctively, I raised my arms, bracing myself.
Clank!
The guards behind me moved in sync, their swords catching the worst of the impact, but the force of it still knocked me back a step.
"Kughh!" The breath was forced from my lungs, and I stumbled, my body instinctively crossing my arms in front of me. So close. So close...
"Who are you?" I demanded, my voice trembling as I staggered back from the sudden burst of flames, still feeling the heat licking at my skin despite the guards' quick defense.
A woman stepped forward from the shadows, her presence like a cold wind cutting through the heat. Her eyes gleamed under the daylight, a twisted smile playing on her lips. "I am Yao Lian," she said, her voice as sharp as the edge of a blade. "As you've already heard... don't move or he will kill your daughter."
Her words made my blood freeze. I glanced past her, my heart skipping as I saw him—a figure in a black mask, cold and unmoving. And there, in his grasp, was a sword piercing through Mei Yue's heart.
"No! Mahila! Use the formation!" I cried, my voice cracking with desperation. "Save my daughter!"
Whooosh
---
[Host, an illusion smoke is going to surround this place soon. Take proper measures.]
As the system warned, alerting, slowly, a dark mist started to fill the whole inner pavilion as it moved upward towards the main palace, given it was coming from the middle pavilion's portal, revealing it as the same formation which Ryuk had crossed once, but right now the issue was something else.
'.....' Ryuk kept his eyes fixed on Yu Shao Yan before taking a peek towards Esme, who stood completely defenseless behind him, making it clearly evident that things would get ugly once they were trapped in that formation, seeing he needed to keep his ground while protecting Esme, 'It would be tough....'
