Chapter 75: Chapter75-Eye of Insight
Daniel hesitated for a moment.
His original plan had been straightforward: clear all 100 Hell Mode underground labyrinths in one go. But circumstances had changed.
The Multiracial Commerce League had managed to collect the Griffin's Eye ahead of schedule, and at the same time, the Human Emperor was now seeking a personal meeting.
Given the situation, it made sense to return to Castle Mington—it wouldn't cost much time anyway.
With that in mind, Daniel activated [Flashback].
In the blink of an eye, his figure reappeared at the gates of the Multiracial Commerce League.
Since acquiring [Flashback], Daniel had adopted an entirely new approach to dungeon grinding: instead of progressing sequentially from one labyrinth to the next, he first traveled to all the labyrinths he planned to clear and used [Flashback] to mark each entrance.
Then, after completing one, he would teleport directly to the next entrance using Flashback again. This eliminated nearly all travel time between labyrinths, allowing him to grind at maximum efficiency.
As for visiting the Multiracial Commerce League, it took even less effort. After all, it was one of his most frequented locations.
The light from the skill faded, and Daniel appeared inside the familiar grand lobby of the League.
Upon seeing him, Manager Harry was barely surprised. He simply blinked, then stepped forward and handed over a sealed crystal case containing the Griffin's Eye.
Daniel glanced at it and confirmed its authenticity. Then, without any hesitation, he casually tossed out a mountain of equipment from his dimensional backpack—right onto the floor.
Harry's eyes went wide, shimmering as though he were staring into a treasure vault.
But instead of gushing with greed, he respectfully spoke up:
"Lord Daniel, we've heard about the Southern calamity. It was thanks to your efforts that so many of our people survived. Our head has decided—this batch is on the house."
Daniel paused.
He hadn't expected the Multiracial Commerce League to be this generous.
"Waiving the fee?" he asked, surprised. "Wouldn't that cause losses for your League?"
Harry smiled, but then responded with rare honesty.
"Truthfully... we spent nearly two billion extra gold coins rushing the procurement of these Griffin's Eyes within such a tight window. That doesn't even include the material's base value. If we were to tally everything..."
He trailed off, but Daniel already understood.
The League had taken a serious financial hit to deliver the order.
While the gesture was touching, Daniel wasn't the kind of person to accept favors he hadn't earned—not when he had the power to stand on equal footing.
"I appreciate your head's kindness," Daniel said calmly, "but business is business, and friendship is friendship. I don't want the two to be confused."
"Give me a fair quote. Otherwise, I'll have to end my partnership with the League."
Harry was briefly stunned—but the look he gave Daniel afterward was one of deep admiration.
In a world dominated by power, few strong individuals cared about fairness—yet Daniel insisted on principle. This wasn't just strength—it was character.
"Please wait two minutes, Lord Daniel. I'll report to the head right away."
Daniel nodded.
Two minutes later, Harry returned, this time holding a thick folder.
He handed the document to Daniel and explained as he flipped through the contents:
"Your Highness, our head agrees with your decision. This is a complete cost breakdown of our procurement for the Griffin's Eye batch. Please take a look."
"Some items were acquired from competing merchant guilds, so the price may be slightly marked up."
Daniel scanned the contents. The prices were reasonable—if anything, the League had already discounted heavily to ease the burden on him.
He closed the folder and nodded.
"I understand. I'm happy to continue our partnership. Just deduct the payment from the equipment I've deposited with you."
Daniel was well aware that the Multiracial Commerce League was no charity. Every gold coin spent on him now would need to be repaid eventually—and he had no intention of owing anyone a favor he didn't choose.
He then continued:
"From now on, I'll supply your League with batches of equipment at regular intervals. You can resell them and give me a reasonable share of the profits. As for future material requests, I expect the fastest possible delivery. Price is not my concern."
He wasn't bluffing.
His backpack contained thousands of high-tier items, including hundreds of orange-tier gear that most Awakeners would never see in a lifetime.
With a wave of his hand, Daniel deposited a portion of his inventory into the League's warehouse.
He added one last instruction:
"Once you sell through these, let me know. I'll restock immediately."
Manager Harry stood there, utterly stunned.
The gear Daniel had just provided—especially the orange-tier items—were treasures. Even for a 2-star Awakener, obtaining two or three a year would be considered extraordinarily lucky.
Yet Daniel... had just casually dumped hundreds.
It was beyond absurd. It was apocalyptic generosity.
Harry knew one thing for certain: for clients like Daniel, he would do anything—everything—to serve him well.
The amount of commission he had already earned from Daniel easily exceeded tens of millions of gold coins, not to mention the rise in his status within the League's internal hierarchy.
In short, Daniel had changed his life.
Vacation? Time off?
What a joke.
He loved his job more than ever.
With everything settled, Daniel wasted no time.
He left the League and headed straight to the next underground labyrinth on his list.
To others, it might have made sense to stay and wait for the Human Emperor, who would arrive soon.
But not for Daniel.
Every second counted. He had no time to waste.
Thanks to [Flashback], he could appear at Castle Mington the instant he needed to. No delays.
Inside the labyrinth, Daniel opened his skill synthesis interface.
He combined the components necessary to unlock his next God Rank Skill:
[Eye of Insight]
The moment the skill formed in his mind, Daniel felt his perception shift.
And then the effects were revealed:
[God Rank Skill: Eye of Insight]
Effect 1: Converts your Mind Power into a sensory field that extends outward. The higher your Mind Power, the larger the field. Within this field, you can perceive everything in absolute clarity. Beings beneath god-level cannot detect your scan.
Effect 2: Instantly pierce all disguises and see the target's true form.
Effect 3: Gain 99% mental resistance, making your mind nearly invulnerable to spiritual attacks.
Daniel's eyes gleamed with satisfaction.
This was the kind of skill he needed.
It wasn't flashy or destructive—but it was fundamental, tactical, and almost omniscient.
It gave him absolute awareness in combat, made him immune to illusion and trickery, and nearly impervious to mind-based manipulation.
Now that he possessed [Flashback], [Forceful Convergence], and [Eye of Insight], Daniel was no longer just a powerhouse...
He was becoming a living legend.

Chapter 76: Chapter76-The Phantom
Gazing at the overwhelming effects of [Eye of Insight], Daniel felt a surge of satisfaction wash over him.
With this new skill in hand, he no longer needed to worry about deception, illusion, or underhanded plots. All tricks, all disguises—meaningless before the clarity of insight.
Just as he prepared to focus fully on clearing the underground labyrinth ahead, a notification box suddenly appeared before his eyes:
[Current Number of God Rank Skills Acquired: 7]
[Divine Breakthrough Stage Unlocked – Narrow Escape]
[Narrow Escape]: When facing a life-threatening situation and you are completely powerless to act, this effect will automatically trigger. Upon activation, you will gain invincibility for a duration equal to 1 minute × the number of God Rank Skills you possess.
During this period, even true gods will be unable to harm you. Furthermore, your state will be fully restored, and all negative conditions will be cleansed.
Daniel blinked, momentarily stunned.
He was sure he had only six God Rank Skills. Why was the system now registering seven?
Puzzled, he ran a quick mental check.
Then it hit him—there was indeed one skill he had nearly forgotten. One so stealthy that even he tended to overlook it:
[Mist].
Right! That skill had always worked silently in the background. Even his own status panel didn't reflect it.
Thank the stars it didn't affect him, or the consequences might've been... amusingly tragic.
Now with the matter settled, Daniel shifted his attention back to the Divine Breakthrough stage.
The effect of [Narrow Escape] was beyond powerful—it was a built-in safety net, a failsafe against instant death. And now, since he possessed seven God Rank Skills, he had seven minutes of total invincibility.
That was more than enough to survive something on the scale of the Terra Fortress cataclysm, which had only lasted a minute or so.
Even when facing an incomprehensible force—one capable of annihilating cities—Daniel now had a window of complete protection.
It meant that even in a worst-case scenario, he would not die.
Pleased, Daniel cleared his thoughts and activated [Flashback], reappearing instantly at the entrance of the next underground labyrinth.
Meanwhile, outside Castle Mington, at a relatively obscure teleportation gate, several Awakeners were gathered.
They stood before an imposing labyrinth, a mix of nerves and anticipation in their eyes.
"Everyone," said their team leader, a composed and confident man with an SS-rank talent, "this labyrinth may be tough, but it's the perfect challenge for us."
"If we clear Hell Mode, our team will finally appear on the radar of the higher-ups. That could be our breakthrough."
"We're not nobles—we don't have the resources or backing they do. But we all have S-rank or higher talents. That means we've got the qualifications to fight."
"With teamwork, this will be our moment."
Nods rippled through the group. These were rogue Awakeners, independents who refused to submit to noble factions.
But just as they stepped toward the portal, something strange happened.
A glowing Dragon Glass Stele near the gate suddenly updated.
One of the Awakeners noticed it first and called out.
"Captain, didn't you say no one's ever cleared the Hell Mode of this labyrinth? Then what's that?"
The captain frowned, turning to look.
And then his expression froze.
Etched in glowing letters at the top of the stele was a new name—
Daniel.
"How... how is that possible?!"
"I checked just one minute ago. There was nothing—no record at all!"
And they weren't alone.
All around Castle Mington, similar reports emerged.
Teams who had been preparing to challenge various Hell Mode labyrinths were now staring, wide-eyed, at steles that all read the same thing:
"Hell Mode Cleared – Daniel."
And it wasn't just one dungeon. It was all the pure combat-type Hell Mode labyrinths.
One after another. Like dominoes falling in sequence.
Within minutes, communication channels lit up with chatter and speculation. Reports flooded the network, all pointing to a chilling conclusion:
Every single Hell Mode combat labyrinth near Castle Mington had already been cleared.
And the name on every stele... was Daniel's.
Even more terrifying than the clear rates were the completion times.
Daniel's clear times weren't just fast—they were inhuman.
The slowest record clocked in at 9 seconds.
The fastest? Just 3 seconds.
This revelation left the entire regional Awakener community reeling.
These were Hell Mode labyrinths—supposed to be elite challenges requiring highly coordinated teams.
But Daniel was clearing them in mere moments.
How?
The human communication network was already ablaze with discussion surrounding the recent Southern Apocalypse. But now, that story had to share the spotlight with a new phenomenon.
"This is madness! Every underground labyrinth near Castle Mington has been cleared!"
"No one saw him enter. No one saw him leave. Daniel's presence is like that of a phantom!"
"Some scholars suggest he might be using a powerful forbidden technique that could have catastrophic consequences for us all."
"Fake news! No forbidden spell could achieve this level of power. That scholar's credibility is now in question."
"The administration has issued an emergency notice: The Ten Things Every Awakener Should Know About Forbidden Techniques."
Despite the skepticism, the eyewitness accounts could not be dismissed.
Awakeners across the region began flooding forums and chat channels, each recounting eerily similar encounters.
"I swear I'm not lying—I saw it happen. The stele updated right in front of my eyes!"
"Same here! I was about to enter when suddenly—boom—Daniel's name just appeared."
"I recorded it. I have the footage. See for yourself."
The video went viral almost instantly.
People all across the continent watched as the stele's record updated spontaneously, as if some invisible force had carved Daniel's name into reality.
It shook them.
Even many professors and high-level analysts, who had initially scoffed, now fell silent.
And then someone proposed a theory—one that sent shivers down many spines.
"What if... Daniel is no longer human?"
"You mean... he's become a phantom?"
"Or maybe he's just using a skill that perfectly conceals his existence. That's more likely, right?"
"Wait, I've got a question," one user wrote. "According to the footage, Daniel's record was logged at 00:37. But here's the problem—I'm over 10,000 kilometers away, in Black Market Town... and he also cleared a labyrinth here at the same time."
Silence.
That comment hit like a thunderbolt.
Was it possible?
Was Daniel appearing in multiple places simultaneously?
If so, how?
Had he mastered time manipulation? Cloning? Some form of reality-bending travel?
Or was something even more terrifying at work?
No one had the answer.
All they had was this chilling certainty:
Daniel was no longer playing by the rules of the world.

Chapter 77: Chapter77-The Human Emperor's Astonishment
"Can anyone tell me how Daniel managed to do that? How was he able to travel such a vast distance in the blink of an eye?"
"I suspect he's mastered some kind of space-movement skill. Otherwise, there's just no logical explanation."
"But do spatial mobility skills even exist in this world? Even those at the demigod rank are said to have never grasped such abilities."
"Spatial power involves extremely complex knowledge. As of now, not a single human has been able to comprehend it. I just can't wrap my head around this..."
For a while, all the awakeners were voicing their own speculations. And yet, none of them had any clue how Daniel had actually pulled it off.
As time went on, more and more entries on the Dragon Glass Stele began showing Daniel's name.
...
Castle Mington
By the time the Human Emperor arrived at Castle Mington, it was already late into the night. During the journey, he had spent a great deal of time reviewing all the intelligence reports related to Daniel.
However, to his surprise, the information gathered by his most trusted intelligence department was far less detailed than what was currently circulating on the public communication networks.
The reports delivered to him were still focused on Daniel's activities before his awakening.
But the Human Emperor had already reviewed those files long ago. There was nothing extraordinary about them—at least on the surface. They were mundane, unremarkable events not worth further scrutiny.
No—correction. There were two events that stood out as unusual: the Blood Moon Incident, and the mysterious disappearance of the Crossbridge Kingdom.
Could these be connected to Daniel's current transformation?
The Human Emperor had attempted to send his subordinates to investigate Daniel's recent activities. But all they could confirm was that ever since Daniel awakened yesterday, his behavior had been abnormal—and that he had shattered the record of the Silver Royal Academy's underground labyrinth.
Beyond that? There was virtually no new intel.
No one had seen how he fought. No one could describe his abilities.
Even someone as powerful as the Human Emperor could only try to make educated guesses based on the little information he had.
That was when he came across the most talked-about topic on the communication network: the debate over whether Daniel was a ghost.
And yet, as he read through these serious-sounding discussions, he found himself even more confused.
Had Daniel really cleared that many Hell Mode underground labyrinths?
And in such a short time?
How was that even possible?
Do you think that makes any sense at all?
...
For a moment, the Human Emperor felt like his brain was struggling to process the situation.
Even someone at his level had to proceed with extreme caution when attempting a Hell Mode underground labyrinth. Typically, he would form an elite raiding party made up of powerful allies.
And Daniel?
He had done it all alone.
Not only that, but he had effortlessly shattered multiple Hell Mode records along the way.
This kid... was he really just a devotee of a true god?
Or was he actually a god incarnate?
A wild thought suddenly flashed through the Human Emperor's mind, only for him to quickly shake his head.
Impossible. Absolutely impossible.
If Daniel were truly a god, there'd be no need to go through all this trouble. This whole charade would be meaningless.
As for the ghost theory circulating on the network—if it were about anyone else, the Human Emperor would've dismissed it immediately.
But if it was Daniel... things weren't so easy to explain.
After all, Daniel had already accomplished far too many impossible feats up to this point.
"Daniel... just how are you doing this?"
At that moment, the Human Emperor became overwhelmed with an intense urge to meet this human genius in person.
As for the gnome tribe?
He couldn't be bothered anymore.
After all, it was Daniel who had issued him the warning in the first place. Which meant Daniel likely held firsthand intelligence about the gnome situation as well.
...
Bone Wastes
Daniel was still racing against time, clearing one underground labyrinth after another with relentless efficiency.
Meanwhile, Alice was also hurrying to complete her own Star Upgrade Quest.
Thanks to Daniel's gift, she had already fulfilled the requirement to possess a God Rank Skill. Now, all that remained was for her to clear ten Hell Mode underground labyrinths.
Upon entering the labyrinth, she immediately activated the God Rank Skill granted to her by the divine:
[Godspeed Step].
And then—Alice froze in place, utterly shocked by the skill's effects.
Her [Agility] stat had increased by 6,000—that was a 20-fold boost?!
Rubbing her eyes, she wore an expression of sheer disbelief.
In her case, agility directly translated into damage output.
In other words, using the God-bestowed skill had instantly increased her damage by twenty times!
What did that even mean in practical terms?
With the amplification from her natural talent, Alice now had enough confidence to solo even the most difficult Hell Mode labyrinths without requiring help from any of her fellow elves.
She could feel an explosive surge of power coursing through her body—her confidence soared.
After selecting her target Hell Mode, she immediately stepped into the labyrinth.
As soon as she regained control of her body, she summoned her exclusive shortbow and unleashed her innate skills:
[Stellar Arrow]!
[Stellar Flash]!
In the blink of an eye, a wave of monsters inside the labyrinth was decimated.
And thanks to her honed senses, Alice was able to instantly pinpoint the boss's location.
Without a shred of hesitation, she charged straight to the boss's domain and initiated combat.
[You have cleared the Hell Mode underground labyrinth — Land of Sin]
[Congratulations, you've set a new record: 18 seconds]
Upon seeing that record, Alice was completely stunned.
Around her, the elven scouts closely monitoring her challenge attempt also stood frozen with their mouths agape, disbelief written all over their faces.
...
Castle Mington
Daniel's pace in clearing underground labyrinths had reached an utterly outrageous level.
Thanks to the effect of [Flashback], the time he spent traveling between labyrinths was effectively eliminated—all his time expenditure occurred strictly within the labyrinths.
Of course, not every labyrinth could be cleared in mere seconds.
Some of them contained unique mechanisms or puzzles that took time to work through.
Even so, his overall efficiency had reached an insane level. At most, it would take him half an hour to clear 100 region-tier Hell Mode labyrinths.
He had no idea how much of a storm he had stirred up across the communication network. He didn't even know he had been dubbed "The Ghost."
Numerous awakeners were fervently speculating how he had accomplished it all.
But the reality was that, no matter how hard they racked their brains, they couldn't even begin to fathom just how broken Daniel's capabilities truly were.
...
At last, after tireless effort, Daniel had completed all of his assigned missions.
He returned once more to the Star Upgrade Hall, where he could also sense Alice's current progress.
That was because every time Alice entered a new underground labyrinth, she would offer a prayer to him beforehand.
And ever since experiencing the sheer power of a God Rank Skill firsthand, her prayers had grown increasingly fervent and frequent.
Daniel was quite pleased with this development.
After all, he needed to establish control over more sources of valuable intelligence.

Chapter 78: Chapter79-Human Emperor's Proposal(Next Chapter is 78)
As expected of the Human Emperor—his combat power remained in a league of its own.
Daniel silently marveled in his heart.
In truth, with his current strength, Daniel could easily defeat even a 3-star Awakener in a single strike. However, when standing in front of the Human Emperor, an inexplicable sense of inferiority washed over him—a feeling that he couldn't win no matter what.
Of course, that didn't mean he couldn't escape.
After all, he possessed not just one but two God Rank Skills: [Time Stream] and [Flashback]. These two powers alone were enough to ensure that, even in the face of insurmountable danger, Daniel could retreat unscathed. Together, they placed him in an almost unbeatable position.
In addition, the utility of [Eye of Insight] exceeded his expectations. Even when confronting the mighty Human Emperor, the ability still allowed him to read detailed attributes and information about the other party. That alone made Daniel all the more confident—if he could read someone like the Human Emperor, wouldn't other opponents be practically transparent to him?
Of course, Daniel also assumed that the Human Emperor had hidden some of his deeper attributes—after all, the stronger someone was, the more they guarded their secrets and power reserves. True strength was often wrapped in mystery.
Just then, a prompt flashed in Daniel's mind, projected from [Mist].
[Human Emperor Odin is attempting an inquiry.]
[Do you wish to block the attempt?]
It seemed not even the Human Emperor could bypass the defense of [Mist].
Daniel exhaled slightly in relief. His satisfaction with [Mist] increased even more—it truly was a safeguard that protected him from even the highest-level surveillance or magical probing.
At that moment, the Human Emperor turned his head toward the head of the Multiracial Commerce League and said in a calm voice:
"Do you have a quiet meeting room here? I'd like to have a proper conversation with Daniel."
"Of course. I wish you both a productive and pleasant discussion," the commerce head replied with a respectful bow. Without delay, he led the two into a secluded conference chamber.
"This is our most classified meeting room. It's where we usually conduct top-tier negotiations related to the League's critical alliances and operations," the head explained as he opened the door. "Your Excellency Human Emperor, Prince Daniel, you are free to speak here without concern. The room is reinforced with hundreds of anti-surveillance formations. I can guarantee that no one will be able to intercept or eavesdrop on your exchange."
The Human Emperor swept his gaze across the room, giving a slight nod of approval. Clearly, the environment met his high standards.
Understanding the moment, the commerce head quietly took his leave. The large meeting room now held only two people: Daniel and the Human Emperor.
"To be honest," the Human Emperor began, his tone surprisingly warm, "I've wanted to meet you for a long time."
Daniel blinked in surprise, then smiled.
Whether or not the words were merely a diplomatic gesture, the Human Emperor's attitude was courteous, and Daniel appreciated that.
"Haha, in fact, I've wanted to meet you for quite some time as well," Daniel responded. "I've heard many tales of your glorious deeds. It's been my wish to pay you a visit in person."
The Human Emperor smiled gently. Seeing Daniel remain composed and respectful, neither arrogant nor servile, he couldn't help but nod inwardly. As expected of the one chosen by a god—such calmness and poise at his age was far beyond ordinary.
Then, Daniel took the initiative to ask a question, his voice steady:
"Aside from what we've discussed, there's something else I've been wondering. Why exactly do you want to make me a king?"
Now armed with the [Eye of Insight], Daniel could peer into the true thoughts and emotions of others. Asking this question at this moment wasn't merely curiosity—it was a direct test. If the Human Emperor was hiding any hidden motives, Daniel would know instantly. And if any part of the answer felt untruthful, Daniel would reconsider whether he should accept the offered kingship at all.
Across the table, the Human Emperor paused and rubbed his brow, briefly falling into thought.
He hadn't expected Daniel to bring it up so boldly.
Wasn't this supposed to be his line of inquiry? When had the younger generation grown so daring?
But still, the Human Emperor couldn't help but be impressed. Perhaps this boldness stemmed from true strength—or simply from the idealism of youth. Either way, Daniel had nerve.
After a short moment of contemplation, the Human Emperor gave his answer.
"If I speak plainly," he said slowly, "would it upset the one behind you?"
His question was more than just a question. It was a probe—a test of his own, aimed at understanding the god that stood behind Daniel. What were their intentions? Would they mind a mortal laying out ambitions and truths?
Daniel understood the subtext immediately. He wasn't naïve.
He gave a light laugh and answered casually, "Your Excellency, gods only care about the things that matter to them. As for the rest—small matters like these—they won't intervene."
Hearing that, the Human Emperor finally let out a breath of relief.
"In that case," he said, "I'll be frank."
"You're a devotee chosen by a god. I believe in your potential. More than that, I believe you might be the key to leading the human race out of the looming Millennium Apocalypse."
"That's why I want to make you king. When the human race faces that final calamity, I hope you'll do everything in your power to protect them."
Though he tried to stay composed, the worry in the Human Emperor's voice was unmistakable.
Even he had no certainty in surviving the upcoming calamity.
Just an hour ago, they were still in the prologue of the Millennium Apocalypse. Yet the powerful gnome race had already been all but annihilated. What would happen when the true disaster began?
As the emperor of humanity, he had no choice but to plan ahead. He knew the human race would be in grave danger. After all, the last time the Millennium Apocalypse descended, they had barely survived. The race had stood on the very brink of extinction.
That's why this time, the Human Emperor had to seize every opportunity. He needed Daniel on board.
Not only did he value Daniel's raw strength and rising influence, but he also hoped to draw upon the divine presence behind him. Even if that god never directly took action, just the weight of their name might help shift the balance.
On the other side of the table, Daniel listened carefully. As the Human Emperor finished, Daniel silently activated the [Eye of Insight].
Within seconds, the answer came through: everything the Human Emperor had said was true.
He had laid his cards on the table.
Daniel did not immediately respond.
Sensing the pause, the Human Emperor continued in a steady tone:
"Of course, if you are to shelter our race, then you should also receive the rights and resources befitting such a role."
"Making you a king is both a symbol of our trust and a practical move to help you grow stronger."
"The stronger you become, the more people you'll be able to protect when the Apocalypse arrives."
"I won't bind you with any constraints. In fact, I will do everything I can to support you. All I ask is that you keep the human race in your heart."
"And... if necessary... I am prepared to accept that some sacrifices will have to be made."
His words were direct—but utterly sincere.
When it came to the Millennium Apocalypse, there would be no bystanders. Entire races might fall. Countless lives might be lost. That was why the Human Emperor said he could accept sacrifices—not out of coldness, but out of harsh, strategic necessity.
Daniel, hearing this, fell silent.
He didn't give an immediate reply.
The Human Emperor, too, remained quiet.
The room was silent for a long while. Neither rushed to fill the void. In their stillness was a mutual understanding.
And as he watched Daniel deep in thought, the Human Emperor's expression softened further.
The fate of the human race—such a weighty responsibility—should never be accepted lightly.
Daniel's hesitation wasn't a sign of weakness.
It was proof of sincerity.

Chapter 79: Chapter78-A Historic Meeting
Luminous Forest
Inside the grand hall of the elven capital, the elders of the Elven Tribe sat around their queen, engaged in a heated discussion.
"Your Majesty, Alice's talent is truly terrifying. I believe we must invest more resources into her."
"I agree. She cleared a Hell Mode underground labyrinth in just 18 seconds—and she did it solo!"
"Looking back on our entire elven history, even the first Elven King couldn't have accomplished something like that."
"Your Majesty, the golden age of the Elven Tribe is finally upon us!"
...
As for all the changes happening within the Elven Tribe, Daniel had known about them long ago—Alice had already reported everything to him in detail.
Was he worried that the existence of the God Rank Skill might be exposed? Not in the slightest. After all, he had a forgotten ace up his sleeve: the God Rank Skill [Mist].
Under the effect of [Mist], even a true god would find it incredibly difficult to probe the specifics of his powers—let alone some elven elders.
And as for Alice possibly exposing her God Rank Skill? Daniel wasn't the least bit concerned.
Even if she did, he could simply revoke her access and authorization. It would have virtually no impact on him at all.
...
Star Upgrade Hall
Daniel once again stepped into the now-familiar hall. Yet the moment he crossed the threshold, he overheard everyone around him talking—about him.
Apparently, he had even acquired a new nickname... something like "The Ghost."
The rumors had grown increasingly outrageous. Some were now convinced that Daniel didn't even need to enter underground labyrinths to break their clear records—he could just magically register a new best time and still collect the rewards.
Worse yet, according to some so-called "insiders," the latest batch of top-tier equipment sold by the Multiracial Commerce League had been commissioned and supplied by Daniel himself.
Of course, the Commerce League was far too clever to expose this information publicly. But given the sheer volume of high-end gear on the market, it was hard to keep things under wraps.
Naturally, these speculations arose.
At this point, the human communication network had exploded with two massive topics of discussion: one group of people analyzing everything related to Daniel, and another debating the fate of Terra Fortress and the gnome race.
Daniel, however, paid no attention to any of it. He didn't care to follow the discussions.
Right now, his entire focus was on his Star Upgrade Quest.
[Congratulations! You have completed Phase Two of the Star Upgrade Quest.]
[You have received your quest reward: Spirit of Skills.]
[Spirit of Skills: A very special entity. Upon receiving your authorization, it can master any skill you possess and activate those skills automatically.]
What the hell??
Daniel's eyes lit up with delight upon reading the description. Almost at the same moment, a glowing orb appeared on his shoulder.
It was obvious—this orb was the Spirit of Skills.
A status window appeared before Daniel's eyes:
[Spirit of Skills]
[Current Skills: None]
[You may authorize any skill. Skills used by the Spirit of Skills will have the same effect as if cast by yourself.]
Wait a minute...
Didn't this mean that with this little guy, his overall damage output could directly double?
Daniel's eyes gleamed with excitement, and his mind immediately began racing with potential strategies.
What if he learned some warrior-type tanking skills and let the Spirit of Skills handle them?
Then, when facing a World Rank boss, the Spirit could act as the frontline tank, soaking damage while Daniel attacked from range.
The more he thought about it, the more ideas emerged.
Just as he was considering testing the Spirit of Skills in a Hell Mode underground labyrinth, a message suddenly popped up.
[Human Emperor: I have arrived at Castle Mington. Come meet me.]
...
In fact, the Human Emperor had arrived at Castle Mington several minutes earlier.
But instead of contacting Daniel immediately, he first reviewed the clear records of nearby Hell Mode underground labyrinths.
As the communication network claimed, Daniel had broken numerous records—and the clear times were ridiculously short. Some were as little as one second.
So the rumors are all true...
The Human Emperor's expression turned solemn. Without wasting time, he proceeded toward the headquarters of the Multiracial Commerce League.
Easily bypassing their defensive formations, he appeared inside the office of the League's head.
The head was busy sorting through some documents. When he saw the Human Emperor materialize, he was momentarily stunned.
"Your Majesty, what brings you here in person?" he asked respectfully. "Is there something the Multiracial Commerce League can do for you?"
The Human Emperor didn't bother with pleasantries. He got straight to the point.
"I've heard your League recently sold a large batch of top-tier equipment. Can you tell me where it came from?"
He paused, then added, "Let me guess—this has something to do with Daniel, doesn't it?"
The head of the Commerce League hesitated slightly, then offered a bitter smile and nodded.
He couldn't afford to offend the Human Emperor—his strength was even greater than his own.
Besides, he was human, and it was only natural to follow the Emperor's lead.
Seeing the confirmation, the Human Emperor's eyes took on a thoughtful gleam.
Then, as if sensing something, he abruptly turned toward an empty patch of ground nearby.
In the blink of an eye, Daniel's figure materialized there.
If not for his special authority, the Human Emperor might not have detected Daniel's arrival at all.
How did he mask his presence so completely? the Human Emperor thought in surprise. Even I almost failed to notice him...
Though his heart stirred with curiosity, he kept his expression composed.
"Your Majesty the Human Emperor," Daniel said with a graceful bow, following noble etiquette. "It is an honor to meet you."
The Human Emperor nodded and returned the gesture, without adopting any haughty demeanor.
Seeing this, Daniel couldn't help but admire him inwardly.
He really is exceptional...
No one would have imagined that such an epic encounter would take place inside a mere office of the Multiracial Commerce League.
Years later, this moment would still be remembered as a legendary meeting.
Of course, Daniel and the Human Emperor had no idea what the future would say about them.
While exchanging pleasantries, the two were also secretly analyzing each other.
But to the Human Emperor's shock, his powerful detection skill—effective against almost everyone—was completely ineffective on Daniel.
He could barely confirm that Daniel was human. Beyond that, he could gather nothing.
Daniel, on the other hand, had a far clearer view.
With the aid of [Eye of Insight], he effortlessly read through the Human Emperor's status.

Chapter 80: Chapter80-Abyssal Core
"I'm willing to accept the title," Daniel said slowly, his tone calm but unwavering. "But I hope to choose my own territory."
The moment those words left his mouth, the Human Emperor felt a subtle sense of relief wash over him.
To him, that condition was barely a demand at all. The territory of the human race was vast—letting Daniel pick his own fiefdom wasn't any trouble. Even if Daniel couldn't find a place he liked, the Human Emperor wouldn't hesitate to carve out a portion of his own land to grant him. At their level, land was no longer about practical ownership—it was symbolic, a gesture of power and influence more than anything else.
"You can choose wherever you like," the Human Emperor replied without hesitation. "Even if you want a piece of land from deep within the human heartland, I'll find a way to make it happen."
He had originally expected Daniel to choose some prosperous region, a fertile land with rich resources and strong strategic value.
But what he didn't expect was for Daniel to bring up the northern frontier of the human territories.
"Your Excellency Human Emperor," Daniel said, his eyes unwavering, "if I remember correctly, there are still large portions of unclaimed territory in the northern frontier."
The Human Emperor paused, caught off guard by the mention of that name.
The northern frontier? Was he serious?
That place wasn't just unprosperous—it was dangerous.
It bordered the Abyss, a terrifying region that spawned monstrous lifeforms, and invasions from abyssal beasts were a regular occurrence. Given the looming arrival of the Millennium Apocalypse, the north was the last place anyone would willingly stake their claim.
Why would Daniel choose such a perilous region?
But after a moment of silent contemplation, the Human Emperor quickly saw through to the heart of the matter.
The northern frontier wasn't just poor in resources—it was a crucible of danger and survival. Daniel's choice likely wasn't about strategic advantage or political maneuvering. No, it was probably to temper himself, to grow stronger by enduring the endless onslaught of abyssal beasts.
Realization struck the Human Emperor, and his gaze toward Daniel grew more complex. There was now a hint of genuine admiration in his eyes.
"I had thought you would choose a prosperous region," he said with a soft chuckle. "But it seems your temperament is even more tenacious than I expected. With that kind of drive, I'm certain it won't be long before your power surpasses mine."
He did not hide his praise. In fact, the Human Emperor had never been stingy with compliments toward those he admired. At this point, he no longer saw Daniel as a junior or even a subordinate—he was already toying with the idea of grooming him as a successor.
Putting himself in Daniel's shoes, the Human Emperor had to admit: when he was Daniel's age, he wasn't even close to being this composed, powerful, or insightful.
He had lived for over a thousand years and had seen countless so-called prodigies—but a monster of talent like Daniel? This was a first.
Which was why, upon confirming Daniel's unbelievable battle record, he had decided almost immediately to crown him as a king of the human race.
Only he truly understood how terrifying Daniel's potential was.
"Still," the Human Emperor said after a pause, "I must ask again—are you certain you wish to claim the northern frontier as your territory?"
Daniel nodded firmly, a flicker of resolve in his gaze.
His choice was not made on a whim.
Yes, part of the reason was indeed the Abyss. The dangerous proximity would allow him to engage in constant combat and grow stronger faster.
But there was another reason.
His third-stage Star Upgrade Quest required him to enter the Abyss. Since that was the case, wouldn't it be more convenient to establish his territory there?
Daniel laid out his reasoning clearly and without hesitation. The Human Emperor, seeing how thoroughly thought-out the choice was, didn't try to persuade him otherwise. Instead, he simply said:
"Since you've decided, I will immediately have my people begin preparing for your coronation ceremony."
With the matter of territory resolved, the Human Emperor smoothly shifted to the true core of their meeting.
"Now then, King of the North," he said solemnly, "I need to ask you another serious question. What exactly happened with the gnome race and Terra Fortress?"
Daniel had long anticipated this question.
Given how explosive the event had been, he knew it was only a matter of time before someone came seeking answers. That the Human Emperor was asking directly now was completely expected.
The only issue was—he didn't know the answer himself.
Daniel hadn't orchestrated anything. What had happened at Terra Fortress was a mystery even to him.
But fortunately, he had already prepared a perfect response.
"As for that matter," Daniel said with a faint sigh, "I honestly don't know much myself. I simply followed the guidance of the god."
Now that the Human Emperor was convinced that Daniel had been chosen by a divine being, this explanation became perfectly plausible.
After all, could he really press a mere mortal to explain the decisions of a god?
Even if he tried to probe further—what could Daniel say? The will of a god was not something mortals could question, let alone comprehend.
Hearing the explanation, the Human Emperor let out a soft sigh.
He had already suspected as much on his way here. It made sense. No matter how monstrously talented Daniel was, he had only recently awakened his abilities. Events of such magnitude... even the Human Emperor himself had trouble investigating them.
How could Daniel possibly know?
But even if the answer didn't shed much light, the incident still wasn't without value.
At the very least, it had revealed something extremely important—the attitude of the god behind Daniel.
Of course, divine beings were unfathomable, and mortals could barely grasp their true intentions. But through this incident, one could infer a key point:
This god held no hostility toward the human race.
If they did, they would have allowed the southern regions of the human territories to be ravaged. But instead, they intervened.
That, in itself, was enough to bring peace of mind.
Because if a god had truly stood against the human race—combined with the oncoming Millennium Apocalypse—the humans would have had no chance at all.
With that, the Human Emperor withdrew from his spiraling thoughts and turned to Daniel again.
"Is there anything else you'd like to discuss with me?" he asked. "If not, I'll personally accompany you to the northern frontier."
He looked Daniel up and down, noting his current aura and strength.
"I see you've reached Tier-6. This is the perfect time to enter the underground labyrinth of the north. That's where your real battlefield lies."
"Even after you complete your Star Upgrade Quest, your next battles will continue to revolve around the north."
He paused for a moment, his gaze growing slightly strange.
"To think... it's only been a single day since we met, and you're already preparing to complete your second-star promotion quest."
"By the way," he added with a half-smile, "is there anything I can assist you with in that quest? Just say the word. If it's within my power, I'll help you."
Daniel lowered his eyes thoughtfully. After a brief moment, he nodded and replied,
"Please allow me ten minutes—I have a few matters to handle."
"Oh, and regarding my Star Upgrade Quest... one of the required items is 100,000 Abyssal Cores."
The Human Emperor had only offered his help casually, without expecting too much. He had the authority to mobilize all human resources, so lending aid to Daniel's quest shouldn't have been difficult.
But the moment Daniel made his request, the Human Emperor's expression froze.
Wait... what?
One hundred thousand Abyssal Cores?!
Was this kid trying to rob the entire Abyss blind!?

Chapter 81: Chapter81-Artist
"Ahem... I'll need to discuss this matter with the Treasury Administrator."
The Human Emperor gave a dry cough, trying to mask his disbelief, and immediately pulled out his communicator to contact the administrator of the Human Treasury.
"How many Abyssal Cores do we have in the treasury right now? Do we have... one hundred thousand?"
On the other end of the line, the Treasury Administrator froze.
What?
Why was His Majesty the Human Emperor contacting him this late at night? And asking for such an astronomical number of Abyssal Cores?
Could it be... that he was planning to activate some apocalyptic-level magic array?
"Your Majesty, forgive my boldness," the administrator asked cautiously, "but may I ask... why do you require so many Abyssal Cores?"
"Don't ask. Just answer," the Human Emperor said briskly, his voice brooking no argument.
He had always been direct in his ways—he didn't need to explain himself to anyone, even someone as critical as the keeper of the nation's wealth.
The administrator's tone instantly became serious. Without further questions, he got straight to the point.
"Your Majesty, after checking the inventory just now, we currently have a little over fifty thousand Abyssal Cores in storage."
Only fifty thousand? That was the entire accumulation of the human treasury?
And Daniel had just casually requested one hundred thousand!
The Human Emperor's lips twitched involuntarily. He glanced sideways at Daniel and couldn't help but ask,
"King of the North... did you accept an SSS-tier Star Upgrade Quest?"
Daniel didn't intend to hide anything. He simply nodded.
The Human Emperor's brows furrowed even deeper.
He himself possessed an SSS-tier talent and had completed a Star Upgrade Quest before. But even then, the requirements weren't nearly this excessive.
Daniel, for his part, gave a helpless smile.
There was no use explaining it. Certainly not the part where, just before he accepted his third-stage Star Upgrade Quest, the system had unexpectedly presented him with an SSS+ difficulty option.
Naturally, Daniel had chosen the more difficult route.
With greater difficulty came better rewards. That was the logic.
But even he hadn't expected that one of the mission's requirements would be something as outrageous as 100,000 Abyssal Cores.
Seeing that Daniel was completely serious, the Human Emperor let out a heavy sigh.
"King of the North, the Human Treasury simply doesn't possess that many Abyssal Cores," he said. "You know as well as I do how rare and difficult they are to obtain. Especially with the recent instability in the Abyss, our exploration efforts have dropped drastically, and as a result, so has our core output."
Daniel nodded. He had never expected the Human Emperor to provide everything.
But now that he was officially a king of the human race, he wouldn't hesitate to claim the benefits he deserved.
"I understand, Your Majesty. I'll find a way to secure the Abyssal Cores on my own," Daniel replied calmly. "But there are a few other materials I need as well."
He handed the Human Emperor a detailed materials list.
The Human Emperor accepted it and gave it a cursory glance—only for his eyes to widen almost immediately.
His mouth twitched uncontrollably.
Wait, what is this nonsense?!
Twenty thousand Dragonkin Reverse Scales? Did Daniel even know how precious those were?
For a Dragonkin, the reverse scale was more sacred than life itself. Asking for even one was considered a declaration of blood feud. And Daniel wanted twenty thousand?
Then there were all kinds of obscure souls—fragments, twisted echoes, and even one labeled "laughing spirit of a saint."
What was he collecting these for? Some forbidden ritual?
And wait—was that... Life Essence Liquid?
Even the Human Emperor himself didn't have access to much of that! He stared at the list, his scalp tingling. Each item on it was an artifact or a priceless resource. Just a single item from the list could be auctioned for the entire fortune of a duke or general.
And Daniel was still only a One-Star Awakener!
Why in the world did someone at that level need materials fit for divine warfare?
Hold on...
The Human Emperor's eyes narrowed slightly.
Was he thinking about this all wrong?
What if... these materials weren't for Daniel himself?
What if they were for the god behind him?
After all, all of Daniel's extraordinary powers came from divine gifts. If the god had entrusted him with certain tasks, then it made sense that Daniel would need materials of this caliber to fulfill those missions.
Realizing this, the Human Emperor sighed deeply.
"I understand now. Every gift comes with its price."
"I'll do what I can to help you gather these materials. But they're too rare—even I won't be able to acquire all of them."
"You know my position—while I hold great power, I cannot afford to be seen showing overt favoritism. Still, based on your current merits, I should be able to secure a portion of them for you."
He paused and added, "Is there anything on this list that you need more urgently than the rest?"
Daniel nodded appreciatively. Then, taking a pen from the table, he marked several of the items with stars, indicating their priority.
The Human Emperor gave a firm nod.
"Understood. Go take care of your business. I'll begin mobilizing efforts to gather what I can for you."
"Let's reconvene here in ten minutes."
Without delay, Daniel activated his ability—and vanished instantly from the room.
The Human Emperor's pupils contracted slightly.
That ability... he couldn't see through it at all.
How had Daniel done it?
Even with all his experience, even at his level of power, he couldn't pierce the veil of Daniel's technique.
Could it really be, as the rumors on the information networks suggested, that Daniel had mastered spatial movement?
But... that was absurd!
He was only a One-Star Awakener! How could he possibly grasp the mysteries of space?
Unless... it was another divine gift?
If so, then that god was being incredibly generous.
Multiracial Commerce League Headquarters
Daniel arrived without fanfare and headed straight to the exchange terminals.
He sold off everything in his backpack that he no longer needed—random loot, redundant equipment, obsolete materials—and used the funds to purchase several critical items from his quest list.
After several rounds of transactions, Daniel's account balance soared into the tens of billions.
With this liquidity, his goal was clear: he needed to start assembling the formulas and materials for more God Rank Skills.
Meanwhile, back in Castle Mington, the Human Emperor did not depart.
Instead, he walked the perimeter, passing by several entrances to underground labyrinths marked as Hell Difficulty Zones.
He stopped at a towering Dragon Glass Stele, staring up at the rankings and records etched upon it.
In silence, he reflected on his own prime.
There had been a time when he too was hailed as an era's suppressing force. A time when even the boldest enemies hesitated to challenge him.
But time was merciless.
Even legends eventually faded.
Yet even in his prime, he had never caused the kind of uproar Daniel was stirring now.
Just then, the Human Emperor's communicator buzzed.
A voice came through, tense and urgent.
"Your Majesty, we've uncovered some preliminary clues regarding the destruction of Terra Fortress."
"There appears to have been some unknown force involved in the devastation—an energy source that might be connected to a god."
"I suspect that the culprit utilized the flesh of a god to unleash such overwhelming power."
"Our most recent investigation points in a strange direction..."
The voice paused, then added grimly:
"All evidence seems to lead back... to those lunatics who called themselves the Artists—the ones from five hundred years ago."

Chapter 82: Chapter82-he Survivor
"Artist?"
The Human Emperor furrowed his brow instinctively.
He hadn't heard that name in a long time, but he remembered the organization clearly enough—once, they had caused an enormous stir throughout the entire continent.
Back then, they were a rogue group of lunatics obsessed with forbidden technology and godly remains. Their twisted experiments nearly tore through the balance of the world. In response, the ten great races had banded together, and under that unified front, the Artists had been completely eradicated—or so it had seemed.
And yet now, at the cusp of the Millennium Apocalypse, they had resurfaced again?
It didn't make sense.
What baffled the Human Emperor most was this: how had these maniacs gotten their hands on a god's corpse?
The ten great races had jointly sealed and stored all godly remains long ago. Every trace of those ancient entities had been catalogued, secured, and hidden from public reach.
After a moment of silent contemplation, the Human Emperor spoke in a low voice.
"Have you found out where these lunatics got the god's corpse from?"
He didn't wait for a reply before following up with another cold demand.
"And contact the Prophets' Guild. Ask them why they didn't foresee this catastrophe. Wasn't the annihilation of the gnome race disastrous enough? We pour how much funding into them every year? What exactly are we paying them for?!"
Frankly, his rage was justified.
After all, five hundred years ago, it was he who had led the joint military operation to destroy the Artists completely. And to ensure none had slipped through the cracks, he had personally commissioned a prophecy from the guild. The result had been clear:
"The Artists have been permanently erased from this world."
And now?
Not only had they reemerged, but they had also wiped out an entire fortress city in a single instant—Terra Fortress, no less.
Suppressing the surge of frustration in his chest, the Human Emperor gradually composed himself. His voice dropped an octave, deadly serious.
"So you're saying you're certain the Terra Fortress Apocalypse was caused by the Artists?"
There was a pause on the other end of the communicator.
Roughly thirty seconds of silence passed before the other voice replied carefully.
"Your Excellency, based on extensive cross-analysis and source comparison, we are ninety-nine percent certain that the event was the result of the Artists and... their creations."
There was a chilling pause, then the voice added,
"Of course, there remains a one-percent chance... that it was a direct attack by a god."
That final possibility darkened the Human Emperor's expression considerably.
His voice turned low and sharp.
"Are you able to determine what method these self-proclaimed Artists used to destroy the entire fortress?"
The reply came promptly.
"They likely used what they themselves called their masterpiece weapon—the Primordial Core Weapon."
"According to confiscated archives from the past, a Primordial Core Weapon is powered by forcing two god corpses to collide, thereby unleashing an uncontrollable burst of divine energy."
"This is god-level destruction. Only a god—or a tool built on divine remains—could have caused such devastation."
The Human Emperor went silent.
His face grew visibly grim, like a storm was brewing behind his eyes.
This wasn't just a tactical crisis. This was existential.
After a long pause, he asked another chilling question.
"Do they have the capability to mass-produce these weapons?"
There was hesitation on the other side, then a measured response.
"In theory, mass production is possible. The principles behind the Primordial Core Weapon are not especially complex. However..."
The voice lowered, as if grappling with the gravity of the statement.
"...what makes these weapons so dangerous is that they completely drain the energy within the god's remains. It's a permanent and irreversible process, even by divine standards. Once depleted, the god's corpse can no longer be used."
"So even for lunatics like them, making another one would be extremely difficult. God corpses are limited in number, and even those that have fallen may retain traces of divine will and defenses."
"Besides, with so few Artists left—assuming any survived—their resources must be stretched thin. I believe the Terra Fortress incident was likely... a one-time event."
But instead of relaxing, the Human Emperor's expression only grew darker.
"No," he said coldly. "That kind of analysis is irresponsible."
"Even if there's only a one-in-ten-thousand chance they have another weapon, we must take that possibility seriously."
"You've seen what it can do. So don't treat this lightly. If another Primordial Core Weapon is launched, it could spell doom for any race—even the humans."
"Therefore, as the Human Emperor, I command you: track down every last member of the Artist faction! Leave no stone unturned!"
Ruins of Terra Fortress
The once-mighty fortress was now nothing more than a gargantuan crater.
And from within that lifeless abyss, a tiny figure slowly crawled out—limping, coughing, his body barely clinging to life.
A gnome.
His robes were torn to shreds, his flesh riddled with burns and lacerations. His aura was unstable, flickering between life and death like a candle in the wind.
Yet the fact that he had survived such a catastrophe—one that had erased an entire race—meant this gnome was no ordinary figure.
In truth, many powerful awakeners like Daniel had their own trump cards—ways to survive even the direst battles. The stronger the individual, the more they invested in survival.
But this was a different story.
The sheer destructive power of the Primordial Core Weapon left no room for escape. Even elite awakeners with powerful life-saving abilities could hardly withstand its blast.
That this gnome had survived—however barely—meant he was truly exceptional.
"What... just happened?"
At the base of the crater, the gnome gazed around, his mind reeling.
Only moments ago, he and his team had been deep in the underground labyrinth, fighting their way through waves of monsters. After hours of grueling battle, they had finally reached the final boss.
But before they could even make a move—
A wave of unimaginable destruction erupted.
The entire labyrinth collapsed.
The world turned to light, then to silence.
He had only survived due to sheer luck—and the desperate activation of a one-time-use life-preservation artifact.
But even then, he had paid a steep price.
His Talent's Specialization had been permanently damaged—one of the core components of his strength as an SS-tier Awakener. His combat ability had dropped drastically.
Still, he had survived.
That was all that mattered now.
"...Where am I?"
"I should still be near Terra Fortress, but... this place looks completely unfamiliar..."
"Can anyone tell me what the hell happened?!"
No one answered.
Suddenly, a terrifying thought struck him.
He activated his communicator, hoping to contact his comrades.
But as he opened the friend list, his entire body froze.
His screen was filled with gray names.
Dozens. All his gnome allies... all grayed out.
Unreachable.
In this world, that could only mean one thing—
They were dead.
Other friends, from different races, still had green signals—online and active.
Only his gnome friends... every single one had vanished into gray.
"...What really happened here?"
Multiracial Commerce League
Elsewhere, Daniel was doing everything in his power to gather the materials required for learning new God Rank Skills.
The reason was simple:
With the passive effect of [Divine Breakthrough], the more God Rank Skills he mastered, the longer he could sustain his invincibility duration.
At present, he had only seven minutes of invulnerability.
That might be enough to barely survive a single apocalyptic disaster like the one that hit Terra Fortress.
But that wasn't enough.
If he wanted to truly stand tall in the face of the incoming Millennium Apocalypse, he needed more strength—and more invincibility time.
And so, he was pouring everything he had into acquiring the materials needed for more God Rank Skills.
No matter the cost.
He would pay any price for survival.
And when the world ended, he would still be standing.

Chapter 83: Chapter83-Snowdragon Beast
After a round of massive purchases,
Daniel had managed to gather a substantial number of materials needed for several God Rank Skills.
For quite a few of them, only one or two rare ingredients remained missing. That in itself was a great step forward.
But as far as the Multiracial Commerce League was concerned, they had already reached their limits. They had tapped every possible connection, sent out requests to numerous partners, and even leveraged their deepest resources—but the rarest of the materials on Daniel's list remained out of reach for now.
This grand acquisition spree had cost Daniel a staggering 10 billion gold coins.
And that was after the League had offered him generous discounts and given him everything at cost price.
If Daniel had paid market rate, the total would have soared at least another 5 billion.
Satisfied with his haul, Daniel quickly checked the time.
There were five minutes left until his scheduled meeting with the Human Emperor.
He didn't plan on wasting a single second. These five minutes could still be put to good use.
And so, Daniel decided to spend them doing what he'd been doing lately: stacking HP.
It was a simple philosophy. With enough health points, one could practically achieve a form of functional invincibility.
Of course, it wasn't truly invincible. Some abilities dealt percentage-based damage—like Daniel's own [Great Fireball], which burned based on max HP. But still, a massive health pool was an undeniable advantage in any battle.
Whitewild Expanse
Daniel arrived at a towering ridge, gripping his trusted [Star Chasing Bow]. He surveyed the landscape and chose a high vantage point.
Though he had already wreaked havoc in this area before, the creature variety in Whitewild Expanse was mind-bogglingly large. So as soon as he launched his AOE skills, enemies began dropping like flies, and his HP began surging upward.
He summoned the [Spirit of Skills] to continuously cast [Divine Thunder Shield], providing widespread crowd control and tanking. Meanwhile, Daniel personally used the [Star Chasing Bow] to eliminate any missed targets, cleaning up stragglers with surgical precision.
The two worked in seamless tandem, creating a zone of mass destruction. The monsters of Whitewild Expanse didn't even get a chance to retaliate. Before they could identify where the damage was coming from, they were dead.
In the blink of an eye, the ground was littered with corpses—ranging from low-level mobs to elite creatures, and even some mini-bosses that roamed the wild had fallen to Daniel's relentless assault.
Meanwhile, his HP continued to skyrocket like a rocket launch.
Five million.
Seven million.
Nine million.
Ten million...
The barrage didn't stop.
Within just two minutes, Daniel's health total had soared to levels most Awakeners couldn't even fathom.
Of course, his overwhelming power had consequences. Within moments, he had already cleared out most of the local monster population—many of them for the second or third time. Even the more unusual and evasive ones had been hunted down by now.
Eventually, by the five-minute mark, Daniel had successfully boosted his HP to a staggering 30 million.
Although it hadn't reached his original goal, he was still very satisfied with the result.
If he could continue this pace, it wouldn't be long before his HP exceeded that of even World Rank Bosses.
As his alarm chimed, Daniel activated [Flashback], instantly teleporting to the meeting location he had agreed on with the Human Emperor.
The moment he appeared, the Human Emperor's lips twitched slightly.
He hadn't expected Daniel to suddenly materialize out of thin air again. No dramatic effect. No grand light show. Just—pop!—there he was.
And that spatial movement skill... the Human Emperor found himself deeply envious.
"Are you ready?" he asked calmly.
"Yes, fully prepared," Daniel replied with a steady nod, determination gleaming in his eyes.
The Human Emperor was pleased with the response. After thinking for a moment, he continued:
"Regarding your coronation ceremony—you'll need to attend in person. It's important for the people to see and recognize their new king."
"Don't worry, it won't take much time. The process has already been streamlined."
Daniel nodded in agreement. He had no problem with the arrangement.
Seeing that, the Human Emperor wasted no time. He raised one hand and summoned his personal mount—
The magnificent [Snowdragon Beast].
The creature emerged in a swirling gust of frost, massive in size and pure white from head to tail. Its scales shimmered like freshly fallen snow under sunlight, exuding both grace and power.
Daniel's eyes widened in awe.
The Human Emperor patted its forehead gently, a rare trace of warmth surfacing on his otherwise calm face.
"This Snowdragon Beast isn't just my mount," he said, "It's also my battle companion. We've been through countless life-and-death situations together."
"It's incredibly fast—capable of covering tens of thousands of kilometers in a single second."
"With its speed, we'll reach the northern frontier in only twelve hours."
Daniel stiffened.
Those words struck him like thunder.
He had already known this world was vast, far larger than Earth. But now, hearing the specifics, he realized something far more terrifying:
This world wasn't just large—it was cosmic in scale.
For the Snowdragon Beast to travel at that speed and still require twelve hours, the distance must be astronomical. And yet, the Human race's domain still only occupied a speck on the global map.
In other words... this world might very well be larger than the entire Milky Way.
Daniel didn't voice his shock, but inwardly he was reeling.
Still, he offered no objection. The northern frontier was special. While there were teleportation arrays present, they were often disrupted by Abyssal energy. For more than half the year, they became completely unusable.
Unfortunately, this was one of those periods.
Even the Human Emperor had no choice but to travel by mount.
"All is at your command," Daniel said respectfully, silently relieved that he had [Flashback].
As long as he visited the northern frontier once, he could instantly return anytime in the future, regardless of distance.
Truly, [Flashback] was an incredible skill.
With that thought in mind, he followed the Human Emperor and climbed onto the Snowdragon Beast's broad back.
Only then did he realize just how enormous the beast truly was.
Even with both of them seated on it, there was still ample room—far more spacious than he'd expected.
But what stunned Daniel even more... was what he saw behind them.
Built right into the creature's back—was a small tavern.
Yes. A tavern.
What??
Daniel was speechless.
He stared in disbelief.
Who in the world built a building on the back of a living mount?!
It just felt... off. Unnatural.
Sensing his bewilderment, the Human Emperor cleared his throat and offered an explanation.
"Actually, once the Snowdragon Beast is in flight, it becomes incredibly stable," he said. "Its movement doesn't affect any structures on its back. So I built this little tavern for long trips. It doesn't shake or sway in the air."
Daniel was still reeling, but his curiosity soon overcame the weirdness. He looked up and asked,
"Your Excellency... according to what I know, the faster something travels, the greater the wind resistance should be. So why doesn't the Snowdragon Beast experience turbulence?"

Chapter 84: Chapter84-Millennial Apocalypse
After a thorough explanation from the Human Emperor, Daniel finally understood the truth behind it all.
It turned out that the massive Snowdragon Beast before him was not capable of true flight at all! Rather than soaring through the skies with wings, it moved by rapidly shifting through space, achieving a velocity that mimicked high-speed flight. However, this spatial traversal was not unlimited. The Snowdragon Beast could only make short-distance teleportations, and to maintain its overall pace, it continuously blinked in and out of space like a phantom, making it appear astonishingly fast.
Because it was traveling through space rather than the physical atmosphere, air resistance simply didn't exist for it. This unique advantage meant that the miniature tavern mounted on its back—an architectural oddity by itself—was perfectly secure and unaffected by turbulence.
Upon hearing this, Daniel could only marvel at the strangeness of the world. "The world really is full of wonders," he muttered with a half-laugh.
"Want a drink?" the Human Emperor asked, swirling a goblet in his hand with practiced elegance. "This wine can't be found anywhere else."
...
The Northern Border of the Human Realm—
After a long and grueling journey that spanned over a dozen hours, Daniel and the Human Emperor finally arrived at their destination.
The trip had not been silent, however. Along the way, the two of them had engaged in many long conversations, delving into the mysteries and truths of the world they lived in. Though Daniel had been raised in the Royal Academy and had received a solid education, there were still many gaps in his understanding. Now, with a rare opportunity at hand, he made sure to ask as much as he could, soaking up knowledge like a sponge.
This dialogue with the Human Emperor filled many of the voids in his worldview. After all, the man beside him wasn't just any powerful figure—he was a living legend, the one who knew more about this world than perhaps anyone else alive.
And during their talk, Daniel learned one of the world's most tightly kept secrets—something not even the Academy books dared to mention.
There was a level cap in this world.
Yes, the power system had a clear ceiling. The absolute maximum level a person could reach was Tier-20, or Level 200.
Once one hit Level 200, there was no known method of further advancement. Across all the races of the world—whether human, elf, dwarf, or otherwise—no one had ever found a way beyond it.
And yet...
What truly horrified the Human Emperor was that during the last Millennial Apocalypse, enemies had appeared who were Tier-30—Level 300 beings.
That meant they were a full 100 levels higher than the strongest individuals of this world. Such a disparity was beyond comprehension. These invaders were not just world bosses—they made world bosses look like weaklings by comparison.
According to the Human Emperor, that cataclysmic event had nearly spelled the end of the world.
Entire races had been wiped off the map, surviving now only in ancient scrolls and fragments of historical records. The Human Emperor himself, who had been only a 20-year-old novice Awakener at the time, hadn't been qualified to participate in the core conflict. Yet he had witnessed the horrors firsthand. He had seen the apocalypse with his own eyes.
To combat the millennial calamity, even the Abyss race—typically one of the most hostile and chaotic factions in the world—had joined forces with the rest of the sentient races. It had been an unprecedented alliance, one forged out of necessity and sheer desperation.
The combined forces of the myriad races had paid a steep price—untold sacrifices and immense loss—to barely push back the onslaught.
Had they not united, the result would have been complete annihilation. The world would've been reduced to ash, regardless of whether one was human, elf, or abyss-born.
During the Apocalypse, heroes had risen among every race. Champions emerged, some from obscurity, some from noble bloodlines—each of them willing to stand against extinction.
Even the mighty Gods and dreaded Demon Lords had moved their pieces in the background, their shadowy intentions hidden behind layers of manipulation. However, not a single one of them had personally entered the battlefield. The war was fought—and won—by the mortals who bled and died without divine assistance.
And even then, it was a pyrrhic victory.
Among the ten dominant races of the time, over 90% of their populations were lost. For the Human Race, the losses were so catastrophic that, as the Human Emperor described, you could hardly find a single 3-Star Awakener afterward.
A 3-Star Awakener corresponded to someone in the Level 60 to 90 range. That meant the Human Race had almost no high-level combatants left by the end of the war.
Just recounting those times made the Human Emperor clench his fists in frustration and grief. The pain in his voice was evident.
And as for the enemies they faced during that Apocalypse? Their origin remained unknown to this day. The only certainty was this—they came from the stars, bearing power that even the Gods and Demon Lords feared.
It was said that in the aftermath, the earth ran red with blood. For years afterward, even the falling rain and drifting snow had a faint crimson hue, as if the land itself had wept for its wounds.
Cities were reduced to rubble. Forests were leveled. Mountains were sundered. The world, once vibrant and alive, was now a scarred husk of its former self.
Hearing all this from the Human Emperor left Daniel with a heavy heart. He had always heard vague tales of the Millennial Apocalypse—but they were just that: tales. He'd never truly grasped the scale of destruction, or the fact that the Human Race had nearly been wiped off the face of the planet.
Only someone like the Human Emperor, who had lived through that tragedy, could truly understand its terror.
Now, this same Human Emperor—Odin—was once again burdened with the future of the Human Race. He carried the weight of survival on his shoulders.
And with the next Millennial Apocalypse looming, Odin was more focused than ever before.
Just look at what had already happened—the Gnome Race, a proud people with a legacy of invention and resilience, had already been crushed without a chance to resist.
If the Primordial Core Weapon had detonated within the Human Capital rather than the outskirts... could the Human Race have survived?
Even the Human Emperor dared not think too deeply on that question.
Daniel, meanwhile, found that this long, intense journey had elevated his understanding of the world by leaps and bounds. So much of what he'd learned couldn't be found in books—it had to be passed down orally, through first-hand accounts from someone who had lived it.
Impressed by Daniel's curiosity and thirst for knowledge, the Human Emperor eventually made a decision.
He gifted Daniel a book titled "Encyclopedia of Rare Materials."
At first glance, it didn't seem like much. But its true worth was beyond imagining.
It was the culmination of over a thousand years of Odin's personal exploration, research, and field notes. The tome detailed countless rare materials and, more importantly, revealed where and how to obtain them.
With this book in hand, Daniel's path to acquiring rare crafting components would be drastically simplified, provided he had the strength to survive those locations.
As the two continued to talk and share insights, a different group of individuals was taking their first steps on a new journey.
Daniel's fellow students—those who had entered the Royal Academy around the same time as him—had finally reached Tier-3 and were stepping into the Whitewild Expanse for the first time.
Yet instead of excitement, they felt only regret.
Because despite reaching this new zone, there were no World Rank bosses left for them to challenge.
Daniel had already eliminated every single one of them.
All that remained were underground labyrinths and minor skirmishes to grind for experience. Or perhaps, if they were lucky, they might stumble upon some of the hidden treasure chests Daniel had left behind.
Fortunately, not all the treasure had been looted—Daniel hadn't gotten around to opening every chest.
But Daniel was unaware of any of this—and frankly, even if he knew, he wouldn't care.
Because now, he had left Castle Mington far behind.
His path now led to the Northern Frontier of the Human Realm—toward battles, secrets, and the dark shadow of the Millennial Apocalypse that threatened to return once more.

Chapter 85: Chapter85-Into the Abyss
Northern Frontier of the Human Realm —
To Daniel's surprise, the northern frontier of the Human Race was nothing like what he had imagined. There were no endless stretches of snow, nor did the land lie buried beneath layers of frost. In fact, as he gazed across the landscape, he even spotted clusters of tropical vegetation—plants that had no business growing in frigid climates.
After a moment of stunned silence, Daniel figured it out. While this area was known as the "northern border" of human territory, that label was only relative. In the context of the entire world, this place wasn't actually that far north—perhaps just moderately so. Except for a few towering peaks still capped with snow, most of the land here looked entirely ordinary.
Upon arriving, Daniel's gaze was instantly drawn to the distant edge of the world—the Abyss. That pitch-black chasm stretching to the unknown was the domain of the Abyssal Races. It was a place shrouded in mystery and danger, a region few dared approach, let alone enter.
No one knew how vast or deep the Abyss truly was. No one could say for sure how many distinct races dwelled within it. Even Daniel noticed something alarming—certain border regions where human lands met the Abyss were already tainted by its dark energy.
Standing beside him, the Human Emperor's expression grew somber as he stared into the distance, his thoughts heavy.
"Two thousand years ago," he said slowly, "the territory of the Human Race was far greater than it is now."
He sighed, voice tinged with bitterness. "Back then, this very land wasn't called the 'northern frontier.' It was the heartland of our civilization. We called it the Central Province. But everything changed with the sudden emergence of the Abyss."
"We fought. We resisted. But our strength was drained. The war took its toll, and the Human Race declined. The lands farther north—once ours—were divided up by other races."
"It's not that we were willing to give them up," he added bitterly, "but in this world, might makes right. Without power, there is no justice."
As they spoke, the Snowdragon Beast descended gracefully onto the towering battlements of a mighty fortress. This was no ordinary city—this was Winterhold Castle, the greatest stronghold of the northern frontier.
The city was built from solid limestone, its architecture bold and imposing. A sense of discipline and blood-forged resilience radiated from the walls. It was clear this castle had endured countless sieges and battles. Its survival was no miracle—it had been paid for in blood.
After storing the Snowdragon Beast back into his pet space, the Human Emperor turned to Daniel and spoke with solemn authority.
"This is Winterhold Castle—the last fortress of the north, and now... it is your domain. From today onward, you are its rightful lord. I will use my imperial sigil to officially confer upon you the title of king."
"With that, you will become a legitimate monarch among the Human Race. Every soul who dwells in this land will be your subject."
"You must protect them, Daniel. Whether out of duty or power, never betray their trust."
"In return," he continued, "you will receive their loyalty, their offerings—and access to every privilege available to the Human Race."
"Moreover, every resource within your territory shall belong to you alone. You may choose to trade them with other monarchs through exchanges I will personally oversee."
Daniel nodded gravely. The weight of this responsibility was immense, but he had already anticipated much of what the Human Emperor described. After a moment, he took a deep breath and spoke.
"Your Majesty... may I go take a look near the Abyss?"
The Human Emperor hesitated. Then, after a moment, he gave a reluctant nod.
"You may," he said, "but understand this—the Abyss is unimaginably dangerous. Even the creatures who dwell there do not tread lightly within it."
"I urge you to approach it with caution and respect. Don't let your power deceive you into thinking you're invincible."
"I suggest you don't go deep—just observe from the perimeter."
Daniel smiled faintly and nodded. That aligned perfectly with his own plan. As far as he was concerned, nothing was worth more than his life.
The Human Emperor once again summoned the Snowdragon Beast and soared northward, Daniel riding behind him as the black horizon of the Abyss came into view.
Just as promised, Daniel didn't dive in recklessly. He circled the outer edge, examining the warped terrain and dark mist. When he had seen enough, he leapt back onto the Snowdragon Beast's back, his expression unreadable.
The Human Emperor didn't question him.
It was perfectly natural to be curious about the Abyss. In fact, most members of the Human Race were morbidly fascinated by it. The Abyss was as dangerous as it was alluring, filled with unknown horrors—but also, it was said, untold treasures and relics that could change a person's fate.
Risk and reward, hand in hand—that was the unbreakable law of this world.
After that brief visit, the Human Emperor brought Daniel to a different place—a snowy forest blanketed in deep white, surrounded by ancient pines. Unlike the rest of the borderlands, this area truly felt like winter's domain.
But just as the Human Emperor was about to speak again, Daniel acted first.
He activated his God Rank Skill: [Flashback].
Wait a minute... the Human Emperor had looked like he was about to say something...
Too late.
The skill had already triggered.
In a flash, Daniel found himself back at Castle Mington—at the exact moment the Human Emperor had summoned the Snowdragon Beast earlier that day.
"Your Majesty, there's no need to escort me anymore," Daniel said casually, as if nothing had happened. "I'll go on ahead and wait for you at Winterhold Castle."
With that, he vanished, teleporting away without a trace.
The Human Emperor, who had just summoned his majestic beast in preparation for a grand entrance, stood there with a completely blank expression.
Did... did Daniel just say he'd wait for me at Winterhold Castle?
The next moment, his communicator lit up.
A message from Daniel had arrived.
"Your Majesty, I've arrived at Winterhold Castle."
And just to prove it wasn't a bluff, Daniel included a photo—himself standing atop the fortress walls, the scenery unmistakable.
The Human Emperor stared at the image in disbelief.
This... this was impossible.
Daniel had arrived at Winterhold Castle in the blink of an eye?
Even accounting for space-related abilities... this was way beyond reasonable. It was absurd.
...
The Abyss —
After exchanging a few quick words with the Human Emperor—telling him not to worry—Daniel cut the connection.
He had no time to waste.
He turned toward the pitch-black mouth of the Abyss, its swirling darkness like that of a devouring star, and without hesitation, leapt in.
Why was he so bold?
Because when he first asked to observe the Abyss, his real intention had been to mark the area using [Flashback]. This way, he could return anytime.
And why wasn't he afraid of falling to his death?
Simple. Daniel had spent years learning and absorbing knowledge. Combined with the Human Emperor's earlier explanations, he knew that jumping into the Abyss wouldn't kill him outright.
The conditions inside were... different.
Of course, that didn't mean he was taking unnecessary risks. Daniel had multiple layers of safety mechanisms in place. His self-preservation methods were, at this point, borderline ridiculous in number and sophistication.
With that, he vanished into the Abyss.
A lone figure swallowed by the void—leaping into the darkness of legend.
