Chapter 52: Chapter52-The Elf Vault

Moments later, the radiant light surrounding the Elder Tree began to fade.

The Elven Queen stepped forward at once, her face full of concern.

"Alice, what task did the Elder Tree assign to you?"

Alice's expression remained calm, though a subtle trace of bitterness flickered in her eyes.

"The Star Upgrade Quest granted by the Elder Tree is classified as an SSS-tier difficulty task," she replied softly. "The first requirement is to collect ten rare skill books. The second is to complete ten Hell Mode underground labyrinths—and break the current fastest-clear records."

Hearing that, the Elven Queen let out a soft sigh of relief.

The Elven race had endured for tens of thousands of years. Their vaults contained stockpiles of rare items and treasures, enough to stack into mountains.

So what were ten rare skill books? Hardly an issue.

As for the second part—completing Hell Mode labyrinths? That wasn't too worrying either.

The queen had personally overseen Alice's training. She was well aware of the girl's capabilities.

Hell Mode labyrinths were indeed difficult, but for Alice, they were manageable. Breaking the clear time records? With a few elite elven warriors as backup, that too was well within reach.

"To think an SSS-tier Star Upgrade Quest would sound so... reasonable," the queen mused.

She had feared some impossible, world-ending requirement. But this? Manageable.

After a brief moment of thought, the queen spoke up with clarity and confidence.

"As for the skill books, feel free to search through the Elf Vault. It should have what you need. And regarding the Hell Mode labyrinths, you may choose your own team. Focus on clearing them as fast as you can."

"Alice, you are the hope of our people. I believe in you."

Alice nodded slightly, her expression unmoved by the encouragement.

Because deep down... she knew what she had just said only covered part of the quest.

She hadn't told the queen the hardest requirement.

That was... to master two God Rank Skills.

Yes, she had access to the finest resources of the elven race. But even then, Alice knew perfectly well—God Rank Skills were divine authorities, not something mortals could easily obtain.

Not even the mighty Elf Vault contained books of that level.

In fact, Alice wasn't even sure God Rank Skill books existed.

So how was she supposed to complete the quest?

Despair silently took root in her heart. She had no idea how to proceed.

If she relied solely on the strength of the elves, she might never complete the Star Upgrade in her lifetime.

But then again...

She wasn't just the elven crown princess anymore.

She had another identity—the chosen Devotee of Crossbridge, the mysterious and awe-inspiring god who had appeared before her.

Perhaps she could ask Crossbridge to bestow upon her a God Rank Skill?

Granted, the request might be rejected... or worse, anger the deity. Perhaps it would even come at a great price.

But at this point—it was her only chance.

Maybe—just maybe—she didn't even need to fully own the two God Rank Skills. If Crossbridge would allow her to borrow them temporarily, that might be enough to meet the quest requirement.

If she showed true piety... and made enough offerings...

There was a chance.

Besides, Crossbridge didn't strike her as an unreachable, wrathful god. On the contrary—he seemed reasonable, perhaps even generous, compared to most deities.

That thought rekindled her hope.

In truth, the two tasks she'd mentioned earlier—collecting skill books and clearing dungeons—were only part of the quest.

But collecting rare skill books had an additional purpose.

She intended to use them as offerings for Crossbridge.

Just as she'd hoped, the Elven Queen didn't question her motives and simply handed her the key to the Elf Vault.

"Alice, the Elf Vault is now under your care."

...

Castle Mington, Multiracial Commerce League

Manager Harry bowed respectfully as he handed a white card to Daniel.

"Lord Daniel, we've processed your goods at cost pricing. Your total earnings come to 80 million gold coins. This is your white-tier VIP card—please keep it safe."

Daniel gave a slight nod and stowed the card into his inventory space.

He had also just acquired a new weapon: a sleek, elegantly crafted shortbow.

He'd spent quite some time browsing before selecting this particular bow. It wasn't the most impressive in terms of raw stats—even though it was orange-grade.

+100 Attack Power might be a huge boost for ordinary adventurers, but to Daniel? It barely moved the needle.

So why buy it?

Because this bow came with something far more valuable: a special skill effect.

Normally, weapons didn't come with any skills attached. Only extremely rare, enchanted equipment might have a chance of carrying a passive or active skill.

This shortbow was one such exception.

[Star Chasing Bow]

[Bonus Stats: (omitted)]

[Effect: Star Chasing — When attacking, fires two additional phantom arrows, each dealing 60% of the original damage.]

That was what caught Daniel's eye.

With his Stellar Flash ability already outputting over 600,000 damage, the two phantom arrows would each deal 360,000.

Which meant that a single shot, when combined, would deal 1.32 million total damage.

That was more than double the base output—ridiculously powerful.

Yes, the bow had been expensive. But it was worth every coin.

Grinning, Daniel summoned the Star Chasing Bow and began inspecting it closely.

What he didn't expect... was for a prompt to appear the moment he held it in his hands:

[Would you like to max out this skill?]

"...???"

Max out what?

He hadn't learned any new skills yet!

Daniel blinked, confused. Then realization dawned—and excitement followed.

He stared at the bow with a growing grin.

Up until now, he had been selective about which skills he learned.

That was because learning skills consumed mind power.

There wasn't any system prompt that warned about it, but Daniel could feel it.

The more skills he learned, the more his mind felt like it was being stretched thin.

It made sense.

A human couldn't memorize every book in existence, after all.

Mind power was finite. Skill slots were, essentially, limited.

But skills that came from weapons? Completely different.

Those weren't his. They were the weapon's.

As long as he held the weapon, he had access to the skill. Let go, and it was gone—no strain on his mind power whatsoever.

That made such skills incredibly valuable.

They were "bonus" skills. No cost. No risk.

Just power.

Daniel's heart raced at the thought.

If he could assemble a full gear set where every piece had an active skill?

That would mean dozens of bonus abilities—all upgradeable—without any of the mind burden that came with normal skill learning.

This bow? A godsend.

"Yes," Daniel said without hesitation.

[Star Chasing: When you launch an attack, three phantom arrows are fired alongside your primary arrow, each dealing 100% of the original damage.]

Perfect.

With this alone, Stellar Flash now fired four arrows, each doing full damage.

His total burst potential?

2.4 million.

Per shot.

And that was just the beginning.

Chapter 53: Chapter53-[Time Stream]

Quadruple damage!

"Holy crap, I've struck gold!"

Daniel's eyes gleamed with delight.

Everything was now ready. All he had to do was wait for Alice to deliver the exclusive elven skill book, and everything would be perfectly in place.

After all, it would be a complete waste of time for Daniel to start training with a bow from scratch—it simply wasn't worth the effort.

After leaving the Multiracial Commerce League, Daniel suddenly remembered something he'd seen on the [Gnome Communicator]: the Human Emperor had mentioned his intention to confer a noble title upon him.

It wasn't the kind of thing one should rush into. Ideally, he'd meet with the Human Emperor in person to get a clearer understanding of his motives.

After all, when a pie falls from the sky, Daniel had learned to be wary—who knew if it came with strings attached?

Not that he feared danger.

Now that he possessed the skill [Time Stream], if anything felt off, Daniel could simply reverse the situation and travel back to a safer point.

That said...

He hadn't actually used the skill yet.

And that made him uneasy.

If he ever found himself in a life-or-death scenario and wasn't familiar with how [Time Stream] worked, the consequences could be fatal.

Better safe than sorry.

With that in mind, Daniel activated the skill.

Almost immediately, he felt his body grow lighter, as if he were being pulled into a flowing, silver river.

He floated in midair, gazing down at the turbulent current below.

Then he noticed something unusual—among the waves of the river, he could see flashes of memory.

One wave showed the moment when Manager Harry handed him the white card.

The next wave took him back to when he first stepped foot inside the Multiracial Commerce League.

Without hesitation, Daniel dove in.

Yet as he entered the Time River, he didn't feel any sensation of water. Instead, a soft, cloud-like warmth enveloped his entire body, comforting and gentle.

When his vision finally cleared again, Daniel found himself standing once more at the gates of the Multiracial Commerce League.

He quickly opened his inventory.

As expected, the [Star Chasing Bow] was gone.

This confirmed it—he had indeed traveled into the past.

Realizing this, Daniel began to repeat his previous actions step by step.

Once he received the white card from Manager Harry again, the [Star Chasing Bow] reappeared in his bag.

From that, Daniel gained a solid understanding of how [Time Stream] worked.

If he was right, the river he saw earlier was none other than the mythical Time River.

However, despite the impressive power of the skill, Daniel couldn't help but let out a sigh.

There was one unfortunate catch—[Time Stream] could only take him back into the past. It could not project him forward into the future.

What's more, once he traveled back, there was no way to return to his original timeline.

Just like now—when he first used [Time Stream], it created an entirely new timeline, one-way only.

In simpler terms, every time Daniel reversed time, it marked a fresh beginning—an irreversible one.

But what a beginning it was.

To put it into perspective, Daniel now possessed what was effectively unlimited lives.

Of course, immortality came with a price: he could never truly move forward, only relive the present.

He shook his head, brushing aside the spiraling thoughts.

Now that he had completed the Star Upgrade Quest, his next goal was clear—head for the underground labyrinth.

After all, according to the contract he'd signed with the Multiracial Commerce League, he would receive one million gold coins for every day he remained at the top of the leaderboard.

Sure, to someone like Daniel, a million gold coins was about as meaningful as a hundred bucks—hardly worth noticing.

Still, a contract was a contract, and Daniel believed in honoring his word.

Besides, there was another reason to keep going: he was hoping to use this opportunity to push his level up to 60.

That would allow him to attempt the second Star Upgrade Quest.

If just completing the first quest had resulted in such an enormous boost in power—not to mention unlocking a new Specialization and passive effects—then the benefits of reaching two stars could only be imagined.

The Challenger's Labyrinth was known for its insane difficulty, but it also offered incredible rewards.

The most exciting part? It occasionally dropped equipment with active skills.

Originally, Daniel had completely dismissed these items as worthless.

But now, with his newly discovered Talent Specialization that could enhance equipment-based active abilities, he viewed the Challenger's Labyrinth in a completely different light.

Daniel's strength now far exceeded what it had been when he defeated a World Rank boss.

He couldn't help but wonder—just how powerful had he become?

Two minutes later, his figure appeared before the entrance to the Challenger's Labyrinth.

Even with his current speed, the vastness of the world still surprised him.

After crossing two teleportation arrays, he arrived at a small town to the west of Castle Mington.

The town was modest in size, especially when compared to the bustling Castle Mington. It was sparsely populated and felt eerily quiet.

But Daniel knew the silence wouldn't last long.

Soon, this sleepy little town would become the center of attention—because this year's Challenger's Labyrinth had spawned right here.

Of course, compared to places like the Whitewild Expanse, where multiple underground labyrinths were clustered together, this area was practically barren.

Even the monsters here were few and far between.

As Daniel moved forward, casually casting spells, his HP ticked upward, eventually reaching 2.38 million.

That's right—after all that effort, he had only gained 30,000 HP.

Compared to the efficiency of grinding in Whitewild Expanse, this place was practically a joke.

What made the Challenger's Labyrinth so unique was that it only appeared once a year, right after Awakening Day.

Each time, it spawned in a brand-new location—completely fresh, with no guides or maps.

It was an unpredictable trial of skill, luck, or raw power.

As soon as the new Challenger's Labyrinth emerged, the previous one would vanish, taking all its data and strategies with it.

Even parties entering together would be randomly scattered throughout the underground complex.

Which meant—if you weren't supremely confident in your abilities, you had no business setting foot inside.

Were it not for the intelligence provided by the Multiracial Commerce League, Daniel wouldn't have even been able to locate this year's labyrinth.

After all, who would have expected such a legendary dungeon to appear in a humble little town?

At this very moment, at the cliff on the west side of town, a glowing portal shimmered into view.

[Challenger's Labyrinth: Salamander Cave]

Chapter 54: Chapter54-Terra Fortress

A level-60 underground labyrinth?

Daniel narrowed his eyes slightly—not out of concern, but from sheer anticipation.

His goal wasn't just to become the first person this year to enter the Challenger's Labyrinth, but to break the record and become the undisputed benchmark for all adventurers.

As for the difficulty level? He didn't even hesitate—Hell Mode, of course.

Normally, Hell Mode was five to ten times harder than the normal setting.

Considering this underground labyrinth already started at level 60, enabling Hell Mode meant it could easily spike to the equivalent of level 80 in terms of difficulty.

And right after Hell Mode... there was another tier: a locked difficulty known as Legendary Mode.

Based on past experiences, this Legendary difficulty demanded adventurers of at least level 100, and even then, they needed to possess S-grade or higher talents and form a solid, elite team to stand a chance of clearing it.

Naturally, the higher the difficulty, the greater the rewards.

For many top-tier powerhouses, even those ranked at the demigod level, the Legendary Challenger's Labyrinth was a sacred battleground—an event they made time for every year.

But that presented a different kind of challenge.

Despite their strength, even those elite veterans couldn't enter Legendary Mode immediately—because the mode wasn't unlocked by default. They first had to clear Hell Mode.

Which meant:

By choosing Hell Mode, Daniel had unknowingly stepped into the same arena of competition as the strongest human elites—not just fellow newbies from his Awakening cohort.

The only reason those powerhouses hadn't shown up yet was due to the labyrinth's current restrictions.

"...Maybe I'm being a bit overconfident?"

Daniel chuckled to himself.

But doubt didn't linger long. Without further hesitation, he selected "Enter" and stepped into the labyrinth.

Terra Fortress—

The largest city ever constructed by the gnome race.

Though located deep beneath the surface, this underground metropolis wasn't just vast—it was the most prosperous city on the entire continent, bar none.

The reason was simple: the most advanced technological achievements of the gnome race were all concentrated here.

It was thanks to technology that the gnomes had risen to be one of the Top Ten Races of the world.

And as their technology continued to evolve, so too did their strength—so much so that they had even begun to outshine the once-dominant human race.

But while no one paid it much attention...

In the shadows of Terra Fortress, buried within a filthy slum, something was stirring.

A basement.

A stench.

Even the gnomes—who were used to grime, grease, and garbage—found the smell unbearable.

"Are all the preparations complete?"

"They are. Everything is ready. Tonight, Terra Fortress will witness the most glorious fireworks in its history."

"Praise be to art! Soon, all the creatures of the world will come to understand what true artistry really means!"

"Our name—as artists—shall echo across the world after tonight!"

What followed was a burst of hysterical laughter, bordering on maniacal.

These figures in the basement looked like gnomes... but not quite.

From the center of each of their foreheads, a blood-red vertical eye had grown—creepy and disturbing.

"Come," said one of them. "Before the world trembles beneath the name of our art, let us first admire this masterpiece ourselves."

They turned, eyes wide with excitement and madness, to face the massive mechanical structure in the corner of the room.

A colossal, circular steam-powered construct—engraved all over with impossibly intricate runes.

Had a human arch-scholar been present, they'd have collapsed in shock.

Why?

Because the complexity of these engravings was beyond mortal comprehension.

Standard runes—the smallest of them—were typically 3 millimeters in size. But these ones?

They had been miniaturized by three full orders of magnitude.

And here's the kicker:

The more runes a magical device had, the more powerful it became.

Double the runes, double the power.

Now imagine this: these runes were 100 times smaller per unit, and shrunk by three units. That's a multiplication of 100 × 100 × 100...

In simple terms, this steam device was potentially a million times more powerful than the strongest steam weapon currently known across all races!

A million times stronger.

Let that sink in.

The strongest known steam weapons could already injure demigod-level opponents.

So what would happen if a device's destructive potential were magnified a million-fold?

Even a true god would be at serious risk of death.

The "artists" grinned like madmen, admiring their creation with rapture.

Then, one of them pointed to a clock on the wall.

"It's time," he declared. "Time to show the world the greatness of our art."

Instantly, all the other "artists" turned solemn and focused.

Without missing a beat, they began attaching final components to the circular steam device—components they had prepared long in advance.

Then, taking up a torch, one of them lit the steam engine core.

With a loud click, the entire machine came to life.

Following pre-dug tracks, it began to roll out of the basement, out of the slums, and into the heart of Terra Fortress.

"Now," one of them said with eerie calm, "let the world witness our artistic revolution!"

"Primary core weapon has reached its target location. Shall we detonate?"

"Do it. Let those foolish gnomes see what true artistry looks like."

BOOM.

The enormous steam device rolled into a bustling district of Terra Fortress.

At first, nobody paid it any mind.

After all, gnome scholars and inventors tinkered with weird contraptions all the time. People were used to seeing bizarre experiments pop up randomly in the streets.

But what they didn't know...

Was that tonight, deep above the earth's surface, the Blood Moon had risen once more.

And under its eerie glow, the true plan of the "artists" was about to unfold.

Back in the basement, the so-called "artists" had gathered again.

Their faces were flush with anticipation, like children waiting for fireworks. Their vertical red eyes glowed with a strange light—vivid, unnatural, and pulsing with an energy imperceptible to the average being.

Truth be told, they were once ordinary gnomes.

But a thousand years ago, during the first unexpected rise of the Blood Moon, some gnomes had undergone mutation.

They sprouted a third eye.

And from that moment on, they became... different.

They grew bloodthirsty, destructive, but eerily calm.

And that was the scariest part.

Not madmen—but calculated, rational maniacs.

Those were the most dangerous types.

Their destructive power didn't come from chaos—it came from precision.

"Fellow artists," one of them asked solemnly, "how many primary core weapons have we created to date?"

"Twenty thousand," someone replied proudly. "Enough to share two for every major race in the world. We artists value fairness above all."

Chapter 55: Chapter55-Into the Underground Labyrinth

Terra Fortress was ablaze with lights, bustling even beneath the earth.

Not only was it the largest city built by the gnome race, it was also the largest city across all races.

As such, it housed not only a vast population of gnomes, but also many outsiders who had come to seek their fortunes here.

Nearly all of the gnomish upper echelon resided within the inner sanctum of Terra Fortress.

And thanks to the cutting-edge advancements in gnomish technology, these upper-class dwellings had been fortified to the absolute limit.

Even if a group of demigod-rank powerhouses stormed the city, they would still be met with overwhelming technological resistance.

When it came to tech, the gnomes possessed a confidence that bordered on arrogance.

But just then, something caused the gnome chieftain to pause.

He sensed... something was wrong.

Raising his head, he gazed at the scenes across Terra Fortress through a wall-mounted magic crystal display.

His eyes eventually landed on an unfamiliar object: the circular steam-powered construct slowly rolling through the streets.

What... is that?

[Salamander Cave]

Thunder cracked and lightning flashed.

Inside the sprawling cave, everything was lit up as if it were broad daylight.

–1,014,624 (Bonus Damage + Critical Hit + Weak Spot Exploit)

–1,014,624

–1,014,624

Thanks to elemental advantage, Daniel's [Thunderfall Shield] skill received an additional 20% damage boost.

That might not sound like much, but stacked with his other multipliers, the total effect reached an astounding level.

And this was just an AoE (Area-of-Effect) skill—each cast dealing over a million damage!

Even level 60 mobs, with health in the hundreds of thousands, stood no chance of surviving such raw firepower.

And the terrifying part?

Daniel wasn't even trying his hardest.

If he launched a dual-cast, his damage would double!

But that wasn't necessary.

A single [Thunderfall Shield] was more than enough to wipe the enemies clean.

[You have slain – Cave Salamander (Lv.60)]

[EXP Gained: 200,000]

[You have slain – Frost Salamander (Lv.60)]

[EXP Gained: 80,000]

[You have slain – Dark Salamander (Lv.60)]

[EXP Gained: 80,000]

[Your level has increased to: Lv.33]

"Nice!"

Daniel grinned as he watched his EXP bar surge upward at a visible rate.

Then, bending down, he picked up a skill book that had dropped from a fallen mob.

To his surprise, even the trash mobs in the Challenger's Labyrinth could drop skill books. And not just any book—this one was thunder-element, and rated S-grade!

"Learn!"

"Max it out!!"

"Fuse!!!"

[God Rank Skill: Divine Thunder Shield (4-Star)]

Effect 1: AoE attack. Base Skill Damage: 1000. Spell Power Multiplier: x50. Effect 2: Grants a super-armor (Unstoppable) state until the shield is broken. Grants 5000 + 200% Spell Power as Shield Points. Enemies attacking the shield take 400 + 200% Spell Power as thunder damage. Effect 3 – Gift of Thunder:

With each level-up, receive the blessings of thunder. Spell Power increases significantly: Current Level × 200.

Beautiful!

Daniel pumped his fist in excitement.

Given his current build, increasing his base stats had the greatest impact on his combat power.

Most of his skills were scaled off Spell Power—many with multipliers in the dozens. So, the higher his Spell Power, the more terrifying his attacks became.

Current Spell Power: 14,733

After clearing out the monsters in the vicinity, Daniel ventured deeper into the Challenger's Labyrinth.

He had mentally prepared himself, but still found himself awestruck by its sheer scale.

Unlike the Primordial Land in Whitewild Expanse, this labyrinth wasn't just large—it was the size of an entire city!

Even with Daniel's insane speed, completing a circuit of the area in seconds was impossible.

In typical dungeons for 1-star adventurers, the maps began to grow significantly.

Just clearing a single underground labyrinth often took days, even months.

No time to waste.

Daniel muttered inwardly, activating [Godspeed Step] as he dashed forward, hurling [Divine Thunder Shield]s left and right.

–2,298,348 (Bonus Damage + Critical Hit + Weak Spot Exploit)

–2,298,348

–2,298,348

In the blink of an eye, another swarm of salamanders fell to his wrath.

His EXP bar soared once again.

After just two casts, Daniel's level had already jumped to Lv.37.

But just then, a system notification flashed before his eyes.

[Quest Triggered: Survive for 30 Minutes]

"...Huh?"

Daniel blinked.

A survival mission?

That was unexpected.

Typically, clearing an underground labyrinth simply required finding the boss and taking it down.

But this? This was more like a tower defense game—asking him to hold his ground!

As he pondered this, waves of salamanders—of all shapes and types—began swarming in from the surrounding tunnels like a relentless flood.

If he had a fear of dense clusters, the sight alone might've triggered a breakdown.

But fortunately, Daniel was unfazed.

In fact, his eyes lit up.

Because he knew—these were all walking EXP bags.

Without hesitation, he activated [Divine Thunder Shield] once more.

"I don't care how many you throw at me—one AoE, and I'll wipe out dozens."

Yet as the battle raged on, Daniel began to sense something off.

The increasing number of salander corpses at his feet began to affect the battlefield terrain.

The floor was getting slippery.

Some of the salamanders had even begun using the corpses as platforms, launching sneak attacks from unexpected angles.

Daniel still had plenty of Shield Points, and his HP bar was robust, but the situation still made him uneasy.

After all, it had only been two minutes since the quest began.

Too many ants can bite down an elephant.

Even with his mighty shield and sky-high HP, Daniel knew he couldn't afford to get careless.

Still, the rapidly rising mountain of bodies gave the remaining enemies an increasing number of attack vectors.

As he watched his shield begin to buckle under the sheer pressure of numbers, a faint sheen of sweat appeared on Daniel's forehead.

This wasn't like any dungeon he'd been in before.

This was Hell Mode of the Challenger's Labyrinth—and the difficulty curve was insane.

"This is getting out of hand," he muttered.

"I need a way out—fast."

That's when his gaze caught something—off to the side, there was a cliff edge.

It looked like a good place to reposition.

Without hesitation, he activated [Divine Thunder Shield] again and made his move—

With every step Daniel took, more salamander corpses piled up beneath his feet.

And as he advanced, his level skyrocketed—as if he were strapped to a rocket.

[Your Level has increased to: 39]

[Your Level has increased to: 40]

...

[Your Level has increased to: 43]

Daniel didn't activate [Godspeed Step]; instead, he strolled leisurely toward the edge of the cliff.

He wasn't in a rush. In fact, he was deliberately slowing down to lure more monsters his way, maximizing EXP gain in the process.

To Daniel, the killing had become monotonous.

At this point, all he was doing was mechanically casting skills.

And yet, the Challenger's Labyrinth continued to surprise him.

Even in other elite dungeons, bosses didn't necessarily drop skill books. But here, Daniel was collecting them straight off of regular mobs.

What's more, these skill books weren't random—they were closely aligned with his core skill set.

A-rank Skill: Wind Step?

"Max it out!"

"Fuse it!!"

[God Rank Skill: God of Wind]

Effect 1: +10,000 Agility (+4,000 from fusion)Effect 2: +80% Evasion Rate (+30% from fusion)Effect 3: Divine Step Mode – After leaving combat, gain a 10x Speed Boost. You will feel no fatigue, ignore all physical limitations, consume only MP, and your next attack will be a guaranteed critical hit. If the target is killed, Divine Step continues. If not, enter a Frenzy State, increasing Crit Chance by 100% for 5 minutes.

After reading the skill's effects, Daniel felt... slightly disappointed.

Maybe it was because [Wind Step] was a relatively weak skill to begin with.

Even after fusing, it only increased base attributes—no new mechanics or game-changing effects.

Still, it wasn't useless.

The Agility boost alone was extremely impactful.

Especially during battle, where even a small increase in base stats could multiply his total output.

In this case, it boosted his damage by almost two-thirds.

After that, Daniel returned to grinding mobs without a particular aim, until he finally reached the cliff's edge.

Now, he no longer had to worry about getting flanked by surprise.

It had taken him almost ten minutes to walk just 100 meters.

Of course, part of the reason was that he kept stopping to pick up skill books and fuse new abilities.

What made the Challenger's Labyrinth so exceptional wasn't just the quality of the enemies—it was the fact that every drop felt tailored for him.

What was this, really?

A Challenger's Labyrinth?

More like a treasure vault, as far as Daniel was concerned!

Thinking this, he opened his character panel again.

Effect 1: +1,000,000 Max HPEffect 2: +30,000 HP Regen/secEffect 3: Every time you kill a new monster species, increase your base HP:+200 HP per small-type species (once per species)+20,000 HP per elite/BOSS-type+200,000 HP per World Rank boss

Daniel was quite pleased with [Hymn of Life].

After the fusion, his HP stacking efficiency had doubled.

It didn't sound too flashy, but Daniel knew just how big this improvement really was.

The next 20 minutes turned into something of a mindless grind.

He simply kept casting his AoE skills—one after another.

Thousands of salamander corpses rained off the cliff like a macabre waterfall.

If another adventurer were watching, they'd be completely dumbfounded.

Was this some kind of joke?

This was Hell Mode, the hardest version of the Challenger's Labyrinth available at level 60.

Even for 2-star adventurers, clearing the first stage wasn't easy.

Yet here was Daniel—strolling casually through it, like he was taking a nature walk.

Meanwhile, back in Terra Fortress...

The circular steam construct had begun to emit a radiant glow.

Slowly, it lifted into the air, catching the attention of nearby residents.

People stepped out from their homes and workplaces, raising their heads toward the floating machine.

Its lights shimmered with a cool blue brilliance, growing more intense by the second.

In the inner district of Terra Fortress, several high-ranking gnomes stood by a window, staring at the glowing device in the distance.

"What do you think that thing is?"

"I don't know, but I have a very bad feeling about it. Something about it screams danger."

"Whatever it is, we can't afford to sit idle. I suggest we act now and get it out of Terra Fortress immediately!"

"Krug, Sivin, come with me!"

At the gnome chief's command, three high-level gnomes boarded steam-powered aerial vehicles and flew swiftly toward the floating construct.

[Salamander Cave]

Just as the survival quest timer ran out, a notification popped up.

[Quest Complete]

[Your Level has increased to: 55]

Even Daniel was caught off guard by how quickly things had progressed.

Just one labyrinth run, and he was already nearly max level!

If he told anyone, they'd think he was lying.

After all, once someone became a 1-star adventurer, leveling up became ten times harder than before.

Even noble heirs, with all their resources and advantages, needed at least a year to reach level 60 after completing their first Star Upgrade Quest.

Why?

Because while high-level monsters did yield more EXP, they also had massively inflated HP pools, meaning each kill took far longer.

This made the actual EXP efficiency lower than what newbie adventurers experienced.

And the EXP requirements per level increased tenfold, too.

So, reaching level 60 within a year was something only the wealthiest and most elite could hope to achieve.

For everyone else?

A year and a half to two years was the standard grind.

But Daniel...

Daniel had done it in one dungeon.

And he wasn't even finished yet.

Chapter 57: Chapter57-The Three Bosses

[Your Level has increased to: 56]

"Huff..."

Daniel let out a long breath.

Although his body remained in peak condition, the continuous fighting had finally begun to take its toll. A faint fatigue crept into his bones.

But he had survived it all.

Looking around at the now-empty battlefield—littered only with countless salamander corpses—Daniel's eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

There was no doubt: this Challenger's Labyrinth run had been wildly profitable.

Now came the final step: finding the boss.

Daniel didn't have any fancy tracking methods or detection skills. So he opted for the simplest, most honest approach:

Search. Manually.

[God of Wind — Activated!]

Even with his Agility stat over 10,000, it still took Daniel a full 20 minutes to circle the entire labyrinth.

If it had been anyone else, just exploring the whole labyrinth on foot would've taken at least half a month—and that's without factoring in the time spent killing mobs.

There was no doubt about it: the difficulty and scale of this Challenger's Labyrinth was truly in a league of its own.

Along the way, Daniel's level climbed again—now reaching Level 57.

Eventually, he came to a halt before a massive subterranean lake, the only area he hadn't explored.

If a boss existed in this labyrinth, it was almost certainly hiding here.

Just as Daniel expected, the moment he stepped toward the still, glassy lake, the surface began bubbling violently—as though it were boiling.

Chunks of stalactites began crashing down from the ceiling, smashing into the lake with deafening splashes.

In seconds, the tranquil waters turned violent and turbulent.

"...That's a big reaction."

And then, almost immediately, the surface broke apart.

A colossal alligator turtle rose from one end of the lake.

Then, a gigantic salamander, its eyes glowing with venomous light, burst out from the other side.

And finally—on the ceiling above—amid the falling stalactites, a pitch-black, stone-like figure opened a pair of glowing red eyes.

Daniel narrowed his gaze.

Three bosses. At once.

[Boss: Abyssal Shellmaw]

Level: 60

Description: A special boss that has completely abandoned defense in favor of sheer, overwhelming offense.

[Boss: Salamander King]

Level: 60

Description: Monarch of all salamanders. Massive in size and extremely proficient with toxins. Caution is advised.

[Boss: Gargoyle Bat]

Level: 60

Description: A bat encased in stone, possessing a variety of long-range magical attacks and wielding powers that defy normal understanding.

Daniel couldn't help but smirk.

"This is actually... well-designed."

At first glance, the three bosses seemed unconnected. But to a seasoned adventurer like Daniel, the synergy between them was obvious.

Salamander King specialized in poison—a perfect debuffer and support unit.Abyssal Shellmaw was both tanky and dangerous—clearly the frontliner.Gargoyle Bat, flying high and armed with ranged attacks, filled the role of the mobile DPS unit.

A tank, a ranged attacker, and a controller.

A classic, well-rounded team composition.

Each of them had around 300 million HP, except for Abyssal Shellmaw, who had a whopping 600 million.

Granted, for Daniel, this wasn't an unmanageable amount.

But for most adventurers? This would be a nightmare.

These were level 60 bosses, with health bars rivaling level 30 World Rank bosses.

And those were typically only tackled by massive raiding parties—thousands of players working together in perfect coordination.

But here in the Challenger's Labyrinth, you had to fight alone. Or maybe in small teams.

Even as 1-star adventurers, most would find this challenge utterly impossible.

No wonder it was called the Challenger's Labyrinth—it truly lived up to the name.

And just when Daniel was about to approach, a new message popped up.

[Time remaining before boss Enrage: 19 minutes 51 seconds]

"...Seriously?"

Daniel frowned.

This place was brutal.

But while Daniel paused to think, the three bosses clearly weren't the patient type. Without warning, they charged in to attack.

His battle instincts kicked in immediately.

Without hesitation, Daniel went full power—casting his skills the moment the enemy moved.

In an instant, the entire lake was lit up in a blinding surge of lightning.

BOOOOOM!

–1,919,190 (Bonus Damage + Critical Hit)

[Lightning has struck the lake — Chain Reaction Triggered! Damage Doubled!]

–3,838,380

–3,838,380

Daniel's current [Divine Thunder Shield] was dishing out nearly 4 million damage per hit.

And with his high casting frequency, his DPS (damage per second) had reached an astronomical 16 million per second!

That meant, if he maintained full output for just 30 seconds, he could take down two of the bosses—easily.

As for why he didn't use [Great Fireball]?

There were a few solid reasons.

[Great Fireball] was a single-target skill—not ideal for a multi-boss battle. Its projectile was slow. Both the Salamander King and Gargoyle Bat were agile—hard to hit cleanly. Most importantly, the subterranean lake environment had a natural suppressive effect on fire magic, reducing its damage to half or less.

Considering all of this, [Divine Thunder Shield] was the optimal choice.

What Daniel didn't expect, however, was the presence of countless hidden mobs in the lake itself!

But before they could even emerge...

They were instantly obliterated by the cascading lightning.

Collateral damage, huh?

Daniel couldn't help but raise a brow in amusement.

"Guess this is what they mean by 'when the city gates catch fire, the fish in the moat suffer.'"

His expression was odd—but satisfied.

Because in that moment, he reached Level 60!

Max Level Achieved.

Apparently, the hidden mobs in the lake were just as abundant as those earlier waves—and their death gave Daniel the final push.

But even while processing this, Daniel didn't slow down.

His hands were a flurry of motion, unleashing [Divine Thunder Shield] over and over without pause.

As for the bosses' attacks?

He didn't even bother dodging.

Despite the combined assault from all three bosses, none of them could break through Daniel's shield.

He stood at the center of the chaos—lightning dancing around him, enemies falling before him—and smiled.

This was his domain now.

And the gods help anything foolish enough to try and stand in his way.

Chapter 58: Chapter58-The Changing World

[You have slain Boss: Salamander King]

[You have slain Boss: Gargoyle Bat]

[You have slain Boss: Abyssal Shellmaw]

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x3 (Accumulated)]

...

As Daniel laid eyes on the words "Accumulated," a thoughtful expression crept across his face.

According to the knowledge he had gathered previously, bosses that could stack rewards like this were rarely final bosses of a dungeon. Instead, they were often classified as phase bosses.

After all, the difficulty of high-tier Underground Labyrinths was no joke. Many adventurers failed to reach, let alone defeat, the final boss. At times like these, they'd settle for killing these mid-level bosses with checkpoint-like roles. That way, even if the run ended in failure, they would at least walk away with rewards from phase bosses.

But for Daniel, there was no need to take such a roundabout route.

His plan? Just clear the entire Challenger's Labyrinth in one go—plain and simple.

Standing silently, Daniel gazed at the underground lake, now stained deep red with fresh blood. If his guess was correct, the real final boss of this place was about to show itself.

Just as he was lost in thought, the still lake suddenly began to boil violently.

And then—shockingly—the stalactites that had fallen into the water began to converge, reshaping into a familiar form.

The [Gargoyle Bat] was reforming.

Even more bewildering—it had its HP bar visible again! Though this time, it was grey, indicating that it couldn't be attacked or damaged just yet.

Within mere seconds, the Gargoyle Bat's massive stone body began to tremble violently. Pieces of rock crumbled from its wings and body, splashing loudly into the lake below.

And then—rebirth.

[Boss: Gargoyle Bat]

[Level: 60]

[Description: A bat turned to living stone, armed with a vast array of long-range attacks. Said to possess power that defies common understanding.]

[Additional Trait: Undying Form – Upon death, the body reforms from nearby stalactites and revives after 5 seconds. (Trait is sealed if the creature enters Berserk mode.)]

...

What the hell? It can revive?

And now it even had a new line of description?

Daniel frowned. When he first encountered the Gargoyle Bat, there had only been one line of description. But now, a hidden ability had suddenly revealed itself.

Clearly, this was one of those underhanded designs—mechanics that didn't appear until specific conditions were met. The kind that could easily break the spirit of an unprepared adventurer.

If it were someone else in his shoes right now, they might've been driven to despair.

Shifting his gaze to the side, Daniel checked on the other two bosses: [Abyssal Shellmaw] and [Salamander King]. As expected, they also showed signs of the same revival trait.

Even worse—the small mobs that had been lurking in the underground lake had also begun to revive en masse.

Seeing this, Daniel could only sigh helplessly.

"Well, if you're all coming back just to die again, I'd be rude not to oblige."

[Divine Thunder Shield]!

—3,838,380

—3,838,380

...

Daniel launched an all-out assault without a shred of hesitation. No holding back, no defense—just pure offense.

The ensuing fight was brutal and lasted close to a full minute. Then, just as before, the familiar system prompts appeared before him:

[You have slain Boss: Salamander King]

[You have slain Boss: Gargoyle Bat]

[You have slain Boss: Abyssal Shellmaw]

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x6 (Accumulated)]

...

Huh??

Daniel blinked in surprise. He hadn't expected that defeating these bosses again would continue stacking the reward total.

Does that mean... if I kill them over and over, the rewards will just keep piling up?

No way! This... this is too good to be true!

Daniel's eyes sparkled with dangerous excitement.

If that's how this worked, then he was about to farm this place dry!

In the instant the three bosses began their next resurrection sequence, Daniel was already mid-swing with another [Divine Thunder Shield].

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

...

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x12 (Accumulated)]

Not bad!

These three were proving to be real team players!

Looking at his growing pile of treasure chests, Daniel could feel his blood rushing with excitement.

Had any other adventurer been present to witness this scene, they'd probably be suffering a complete mental breakdown.

An Underground Labyrinth where the bosses keep resurrecting indefinitely?

It sounded more like a nightmare than a game mechanic.

Only someone like Daniel—with absurd strength and an even more absurd mindset—would see this broken mechanic and think:

"Jackpot!"

...

Time passed.

And passed.

And kept passing.

After some time, Daniel started to feel a bit... bored.

So he found a sturdy boulder nearby, casually sat down, and continued tossing out skills to obliterate the endlessly respawning bosses—all while scrolling through his [Gnome Communicator].

And wouldn't you know it? There were quite a few major headlines making waves lately.

"Shocking! An SSS-Rank talent emerges among the Elves!"

"Gnome Research Delegation to visit Human realms for academic exchange!"

"Urgent! Terra Fortress suspected of going dark—international teams scrambling for contact!"

Daniel skimmed over the major headlines without much reaction.

But then, one article caught his attention. Its bold headline stretched across the entire screen:

"Identity of Prince Daniel Remains a Mystery — Royal Bibliotheca Keeps Its Silence!"

"Rumors Suggest Human Emperor May Appoint Daniel as King of Middon—No Official Response Yet!"

"Uncovering Daniel's True Strength — Debate Rages Across the Human Realm!"

So it had finally come to this.

His name... was now the talk of the continent.

Everyone had their own theories, their own speculation.

Some thought he was the reincarnation of a fallen god.

Others were convinced he had stumbled upon a mythical skill that could one-shot anything.

Daniel couldn't help but laugh inwardly.

"Do they really think it's that simple?"

After all, who would ever believe that someone who awakened with an F-rank talent like Furniture Craftsman would rise to such godlike strength?

No one had ever seen Daniel fight at full power.

That's why, in the eyes of the public, he had become an enigma, wrapped in rumors, shrouded in speculation.

He scrolled through the wild theories and the endless comment sections, each post more absurd than the last.

Some suggested he was a True God in disguise.

Others claimed he had made a pact with the Abyss.

A few even speculated that he had unlocked a secret tutorial that gave him access to infinite stat points.

Of course, Daniel ignored all of it.

He shut off his [Gnome Communicator] without hesitation.

The most absurd comments didn't deserve a second glance. Seriously... a disguised deity? A God-slaying cheat code? These people had no imagination.

Still, buried deep among the noise, there were a few scattered remarks that did hit a little too close to the truth:

"Could it be... that Daniel has mastered a God Rank Skill?"

That... was actually correct.

But before such comments could gain traction, they were drowned in the endless sea of baseless conspiracy theories and fanboy debates.

For now, Daniel had no intention of revealing his true power to the world.

There were still too many variables, too many risks.

And until he was truly ready—he would keep his cards close to his chest.

After all, in a world that constantly shifts and evolves... the smart ones play the long game.

Chapter 59: Chapter59-Ultimate Water Elemental

Just as Daniel was about to set aside the [Gnome Communicator], a fresh breaking news headline suddenly popped up in the center of the screen.

"The Millennium Apocalypse Draws Near—What Form Will It Take This Time?"

"Terra Fortress Loses Contact—Could This Be Tied to the Coming Apocalypse?"

...

There were plenty of similar headlines appearing one after another.

But this time, Daniel's expression grew noticeably more solemn.

For years now, he had been quietly investigating the origin of the Blood Moon Incident. And the deeper he dug, the more he became convinced that the tragic fall of the Crossbridge Kingdom, which began with the emergence of a blood moon and ended in utter annihilation, might have been the first sign of the incoming Millennium Apocalypse.

Yes—contrary to what most believed, the apocalypse wasn't something that simply erupted out of nowhere. There had always been omens, scattered and subtle.

Some people might take note of them. Others might not.

But regardless, when it finally erupted in full force, the Millennium Apocalypse was capable of wiping out over half of all life across the myriad races.

Daniel clenched his fist. He had to grow stronger—and fast.

With that thought, he reflexively cast another volley of [Divine Thunder Shield].

The trio of bosses—just freshly resurrected—didn't even get a chance to raise their claws before they were instantly disintegrated by blinding bolts of divine thunder.

At this point, Daniel wasn't even paying attention to them anymore. His mind was preoccupied with the looming threat of the Apocalypse.

He had experienced the Blood Moon firsthand. He had looked into its crimson glow, had felt its unnatural pressure up close. He knew just how monstrous the force behind it truly was.

And if that had only been the beginning, then what would the real thing be like?

The thought made Daniel's heart grow heavy.

"Guess luck really isn't on my side after all..." he muttered.

The only thing he could hope for now was that the full-scale outbreak of the Millennium Apocalypse would hold off just a little longer. That would buy him more time—time to reach a power level where he could actually stand a chance.

Still holding the [Gnome Communicator] in one hand, Daniel continued to unleash unrelenting divine fury with the other.

Lightning surged wildly across the cavern. The once-dark underground lake was now completely lit up, flashing like a thunderstorm at high noon.

RUMBLE!

[You have slain Boss: Salamander King]

[You have slain Boss: Gargoyle Bat]

[You have slain Boss: Abyssal Shellmaw]

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x99 (Accumulated)]

...

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x120 (Accumulated)]

...

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x450 (Accumulated)]

Before he even realized it, Daniel had already amassed a staggering total of 450 treasure chests!

To put that in perspective—even if you gathered every human adventurer across the continent and let them farm all year long, they still wouldn't come close to earning that many reward chests.

As time went on, the signs of impending Berserk Phase began to surface.

The bosses became increasingly aggressive, abandoning their defenses entirely to launch suicidal attacks.

Ironically, this only sped up their deaths, making the treasure farming even more efficient.

In less than twenty minutes, Daniel had slain these three bosses over a hundred times!

Before long, the moment finally arrived.

Daniel stood up from the boulder he'd been sitting on, his body relaxed but his senses sharp. His eyes slowly scanned the surroundings.

At some point, the surface of the underground lake had begun to give off a faint, rising mist.

And gradually, that mist thickened and swirled, until it started solidifying into a form.

There was no doubt about it—this was the final boss.

[Final Boss: Ultimate Water Elemental]

[Level: 60]

[HP: 600,000,000]

[Skills: Tidal Surge, Storm Vortex, Downpour Catastrophe, Reverse Current, Aqua Blade, Aqua Barrage...]

[Description: The ultimate boss wielding the power of water elements. The last trial within the Challenger's Labyrinth. Its might is said to transcend mortal understanding.]

...

600 million HP?

Daniel's eyes narrowed.

What kind of nonsense is this? How is this not a World Rank boss?!

No wonder the Challenger's Labyrinth had always been hailed as the most difficult of all dungeons in its tier.

Honestly, Daniel felt that this boss might even be tougher than a standard World Rank enemy.

At least when fighting World Rank bosses, you rarely had to deal with annoying little mobs interfering.

But this [Ultimate Water Elemental] had complete control over the entire underground lake—including all the minions hidden beneath the surface.

And that wasn't all.

The three phase bosses he had been farming—[Salamander King], [Gargoyle Bat], and [Abyssal Shellmaw]—had all revived again.

This time, though, they were in Berserk Mode. Although their revival abilities had been temporarily sealed, their combat strength had more than doubled.

Which meant... Daniel now had to face not only the final boss [Ultimate Water Elemental], but also three enraged, powered-up phase bosses—simultaneously.

Daniel gritted his teeth, muttering under his breath:

"Damn it... Why does it feel like this is harder than soloing a World Rank boss?"

Hell Mode, huh?

This difficulty setting really didn't pull its punches.

Even so, Daniel couldn't shake the feeling that something about all this was off.

He had read all the records. The Challenger's Labyrinth was not a new dungeon. It appeared every year—like clockwork.

Yet somehow, the version he was experiencing this year was at least ten times more difficult than any previous instance on record.

Why?

A theory began to take shape in Daniel's mind.

Could the underground labyrinths themselves be reacting to the Millennium Apocalypse?

If the Apocalypse was truly a multiracial catastrophe on a cosmic scale, then its influence could be seeping into every corner of the world—dungeons included.

Who knew what had happened during the previous Apocalypse?

The truth had long since been buried beneath time and silence.

In a scenario like that, anything could happen.

Even a boss from an underground dungeon manifesting in the real world was no longer unthinkable.

Daniel shook his head. Maybe he was just overthinking things.

After all, he didn't have any solid evidence—just speculation.

Still, even if there was a grain of truth in his fears, there wasn't much he could do about it right now.

No point in worrying over hypotheticals.

"First things first—kill the damn boss."

With that resolution in mind, Daniel launched yet another volley of [Divine Thunder Shield]. But in the back of his mind, a different concern had started to brew.

Should I diversify my attack methods?

Take this dungeon, for instance—because of the sheer abundance of water elements in the air, his [Great Fireball] spell had been practically useless. Not only did it deal far less damage than normal, but the projectile itself moved sluggishly, like it was being weighed down by moisture.

It wasn't that Daniel wanted to rely solely on [Divine Thunder Shield]—it was just that everything else he had was being heavily nerfed.

Unfortunately, he hadn't found any new attack skills that suited him lately.

That reminded him—he still had the exclusive skill he received from Alice.

It dealt physical damage, and with the support of a bow, it could potentially become his secondary main attack method.

The only issue was... Daniel couldn't shoot a shortbow to save his life.

Even when he tried practicing with one, he discovered that he had zero talent for it.

So for now...

All he could do was wait—and hope that Alice was as clever as he believed.

Chapter 60: Chapter60-Alice's Sacrifice

The current final boss, [Ultimate Water Elemental], was still in a greyed-out state with its HP locked.

There were less than sixty seconds left until its full Berserk Phase was activated.

Daniel guessed that once the three phase bosses entered their berserk states, only then would the [Ultimate Water Elemental] become a valid target for attack.

Since that was the case... there was only one thing to do.

BOOOOM!

Countless bolts of divine lightning burst forth like silver serpents dancing madly across the lake's surface, striking the water with crackling fury.

After another full round of output—

[You have slain Boss: Salamander King]

[You have slain Boss: Gargoyle Bat]

[You have slain Boss: Abyssal Shellmaw]

[Current Boss Kill Rewards: Treasure Chest x453 (Accumulated)]

The current number of treasure chests had climbed to a whopping 453.

Daniel couldn't help but wonder—had any adventurer before him ever managed to farm this many chests from one dungeon run?

As he mulled over the thought, the countdown quietly reached its end.

And right on cue, the three phase bosses revived once more.

This time, however, something was different.

Their appearances had changed—markedly so.

Their auras grew wildly unstable, their bodies more distorted, more vicious. Their eyes gleamed blood-red with unrestrained brutality. Clearly, they had entered Berserk Mode.

Yet, surprisingly, none of them attacked.

Instead, all three turned and crawled reverently toward the [Ultimate Water Elemental], lowering their heads in subservient worship.

What happened next caught Daniel completely off guard.

The [Ultimate Water Elemental] stretched out something resembling an arm and made contact with the three berserk bosses.

As their bodies connected, the Elemental's once-blue, semi-transparent form began to transform rapidly, turning into a deep, blood-drenched crimson.

[Final Boss: Ultimate Water Elemental (Corrupted)]

[Level: 60]

[HP: 1,000,000,000]

[Skills: Tidal Surge, Storm Vortex, Downpour Catastrophe, Reverse Current, Aqua Blade, Aqua Barrage...]

[Description: The ultimate boss that commands water-element power. The final challenge of the Challenger's Labyrinth, possessing strength beyond human comprehension.]

[Additional Trait: Appears to have been corrupted. Its elemental nature has mutated. Now possesses 100% immunity to elemental damage. Moreover, receives 1% of its maximum HP as healing each time it takes elemental damage.]

...WHAT?!

Daniel's jaw tightened.

His passive [Infinite Shift] allowed him to ignore 50% of enemy resistances while attacking—but even that wasn't enough to overcome the absurdity in front of him.

A full 100% immunity to elemental damage?

Even if he halved that through penetration, it still meant a 50% resistance.

And worse—every time the boss took an elemental hit, it would actually recover 1% of its maximum HP!

Its max HP was now one billion. That meant 1% recovery was ten million.

Yet Daniel's signature spell, [Divine Thunder Shield], could deal at most 3.8 million in raw damage.

After accounting for 50% resistance? He'd only be doing under 2 million per hit.

Meanwhile, the boss would heal 10 million HP in return.

In other words—he was literally healing the boss with every attack.

"How the hell is this fair?!"

Daniel's eye twitched. The casual confidence on his face had disappeared.

This was bad.

He had no reliable way to deal with the [Corrupted Ultimate Water Elemental].

Sure, the boss couldn't kill him either. But that didn't matter.

What mattered was that he couldn't kill it.

Every elemental attack he used would be worse than useless—actively counterproductive.

He was stuck.

The only card he had left was a long shot: trying to get lucky with [Great Fireball].

In theory, a critical strike might bypass resistances and finish the boss.

But that was a major gamble—one that could cost him a ridiculous amount of time.

And Daniel couldn't afford to waste time.

He even started to consider whether he should activate [Time Stream] and rewind to an earlier moment in the timeline—just so he could search for a true damage skill or some kind of percentage-based attack.

As he was contemplating this desperate move, a sudden voice echoed within his mind.

[O Great Crossbridge, your devotee Alice offers her prayer—please respond.]

[I have gathered several rare skill books and now offer them as sacrifice.]

Daniel's eyes lit up.

Alice's offering—just in time!

...

Luminous Forest,

Inside Alice's wooden cottage—

The elf girl knelt before a simple altar, carefully arranging the precious skill books she had collected.

She followed the rites of the sacrificial ritual with caution and reverence, her heart pounding with nervous anticipation.

This was her first time formally praying to a deity—as a devotee.

She wasn't even sure if she'd get a response. What if he ignored her? What if she wasn't worthy?

Yet the moment she finished reciting the final lines of the prayer, the skill books on the altar vanished in an instant.

Alice was stunned.

"That fast?!"

She had spent days gathering those books—and they were just gone?

Was it really divine intervention? Or...

Was there a chance someone had stolen them?

But before paranoia could take hold, a solemn voice rose up from the depths of her soul.

[My devotee—Alice. There is no need for such elaborate rituals. Simply prepare your offering and call my name from your heart.]

...

Back inside the Challenger's Labyrinth—

Daniel opened his inventory, anticipation brimming.

Sure enough, ten skill books had appeared inside.

He quickly skimmed through them. The effects were all over the place. Some were flat-out ridiculous.

One of them, for example, was called [Sweet Aroma].

Its effect? It made everything you ate taste delicious and sugary.

Daniel couldn't help but groan.

"Am I supposed to be baking pastries now?!"

But finally—finally—he found the one skill book he had been hoping for.

[Race-Specific Skill Book: Bow Specialization]

[Effect: A skill book exclusive to Elves. Upon learning it, you will gain mastery over the bow and arrow.]

Perfect!

Daniel's eyes lit up with excitement. He immediately selected it and chose to learn the skill.

At almost the exact same moment, the [Ultimate Water Elemental (Corrupted)] finished awakening.

Its HP lock expired—and it launched its first attack!

[Aqua Barrage]!

The corrupted elemental slammed the surface of the lake with both arms.

Droplets of water gathered in midair, each one rapidly shaping into a sharp, spinning blade.

Thousands of these blades launched forward in unison, forming a terrifying rain of water-knives.

The attack was overwhelming—each blade moving at lightning speed, covering the battlefield in shimmering death.

But Daniel didn't even flinch.

His focus was entirely locked on the skill book in his hands.

[Max out this skill?]

"Yes!" he answered instantly.

[Exclusive Skill: Master of Bow]

[Effect: Your proficiency with bows has reached a masterful level. All bow-related damage is increased by 100%.]

A slow grin stretched across Daniel's face.

"Alright, you overgrown puddle. Time for round two."

Chapter 61: Chapter61-The Power of the Bow

[Star Chasing Bow]

[Bonus: Attack Power +100]

[Star Chasing (Maxed): When launching an attack, your shot splits into three arrows, each dealing 100% of the original damage.]

Daniel examined the shortbow in his hand.

Its design was elegant—strikingly intricate, even artistic. The detailed patterns etched along its limbs made it feel more like a collector's artifact than a weapon of war. A faint metallic glow shimmered across its surface, adding to its refined aura.

And yet, the moment Daniel gripped it, he felt an instinctive sense of familiarity—like the bow had always belonged in his hands.

Which was odd, because he had almost no experience with shortbows prior to this moment.

Still, there it was—that mysterious confidence swelling in his chest.

As if he only needed to draw and aim, and he could strike any target, no matter how far, no matter how fast.

It was so surreal, he had to remind himself that this wasn't some illusion.

And just as that momentary awe faded, a new prompt flashed before his eyes:

[Devotee skill detected: Stellar Flash. This skill is currently unmaxed. Would you like to max it?]

"Huh?"

Daniel was taken aback.

Wasn't this Alice's exclusive skill? How could he max it?

He could barely wrap his head around the fact that he could even use it—let alone upgrade it!

Wasn't this supposed to be the exclusive power tied to an SSS-rank divine bowman talent?

He had thought his own talent, [Divine Infinite], was already broken... but now it was starting to feel like God Shooter was even more absurd.

Still, questions aside—Daniel answered without hesitation.

"Max it!"

[Devotee Skill: Starlight Flurry (Maxed)]

[Effect 1: While wielding a bow, you enter the Starlight State. Every shot is empowered by starlight energy. Arrow speed x999. Damage per shot: 200 x Agility. Arrows cannot be dodged.]

[Effect 2: You no longer require arrows. Instead, you conjure starlight directly. Your shots travel at the speed of light and gain 50% armor penetration.]

"W-Wait a second... WHAT?!"

The multiplier on Agility had just doubled—from 100x to 200x.

More importantly, his arrows now traveled at light speed—the fastest possible speed in the known universe.

Which meant that if Daniel locked onto you... there was no escape.

Everyone knew light couldn't be outrun, parried, or dodged. Unless you could phase through dimensions, you were getting hit.

And Daniel had already maxed out [Master of Bow], meaning his archery had reached transcendent levels. If he aimed—he hit. Every time.

Even better—this was physical damage, not elemental.

It had 50% armor penetration baked in.

And since he no longer needed physical arrows, his firing speed would increase drastically.

Traditional archery required: draw arrow, nock, aim, then shoot.

Now? Daniel only needed to aim and fire. Two entire steps cut out. That meant his rate of fire had just skyrocketed.

"Wait a second... am I actually a better fit for [God Shooter] than Alice is?"

The ridiculous thought flickered through his mind for a moment.

He chuckled to himself and shook his head. "Nah, don't be stupid."

He looked up—gaze locking on the far end of the underground lake, where the corrupted [Ultimate Water Elemental] hovered ominously.

"You're immune to elemental attacks, huh?"

"Then why don't you taste pure physical pain for a change?"

Without another word, Daniel raised his bow.

With [Master of Bow] and [Starlight Flurry] enhancing him, confidence surged through every inch of his body.

Of course, he didn't forget to activate all his battle buffs:

Combat State, Bloodfury, Dance of Death...

[Starlight Flurry—activated.]

FWOOOOSH!

A brilliant streak of starlight formed into a bowstring-drawn arrow. The next moment, a radiant bolt streaked out—like a meteor crashing through the heavens.

But that meteor was only the beginning.

In the blink of an eye, the meteor became a meteor shower.

Arrows formed entirely from condensed starlight rained down like divine judgment, launching across the battlefield at light speed.

They struck the [Ultimate Water Elemental] almost instantly—no chance to dodge, no warning to react.

—5,222,360 (Critical Hit + Damage Bonus)

—5,222,360 (Critical Hit + Damage Bonus)

...

Thanks to the [Star Chasing] effect, each arrow Daniel fired split into three—each clone dealing full damage.

In one second, Daniel launched ten arrows.

That was 30 arrows' worth of damage in just a second.

At over 5 million damage per arrow, that totaled roughly 150 million damage in a single second!

"WHAT. THE. HELL."

Even Daniel was momentarily stunned.

The numbers didn't lie.

He had just unloaded 150 million damage with one second of firepower.

His hand trembled slightly—not from fear, but sheer excitement.

He instantly fired another volley.

Ten more arrows—instantly split into thirty—struck the boss like holy punishment.

And again.

And again.

In just a few short seconds, the corrupted Ultimate Water Elemental was torn apart—riddled with holes, its entire body shaking violently.

Its HP bar—once stretching across the screen—was instantly emptied.

It didn't even have time to enter phase two.

...

Meanwhile — Royal Academy of the Tin-Silver Empire

Though the sky had long since darkened, the academy was still bustling with activity.

Dozens of students, instructors, and even the headmaster Owen were huddled around their [Gnome Communicators], deep in discussion.

"It's strange... Prince Daniel hasn't made a single move in ages."

"Right? We haven't received any alerts or announcements—what's he up to?"

"Before, he was sending alerts every few minutes—soloing World Rank bosses and breaking records left and right!"

"Do you think... he might've burned out?"

...

Across the entire human communication network, discussion about Daniel's sudden disappearance had reached a fever pitch.

Some believed he was preparing for a major breakthrough.

Others whispered that perhaps... Daniel had hit his limit.

After all, that F-rank Furniture Craftsman talent of his was still a glaring flaw.

No one could figure out how he'd gotten so strong.

And maybe—just maybe—he had overreached... and died to some powerful boss.

Speculation ran wild.

Eventually, the conversation shifted toward one question:

Had Daniel completed the Star Upgrade Quest or not?

The quest had made huge waves when he took it.

But if he had completed it, there should've been a much larger system announcement—something spectacular, something divine.

Yet the Star Upgrade Hall was utterly silent.

No signs, no celestial phenomenon.

Could it be... Daniel hadn't completed it?

As more and more theories flooded the network, just as doubt was reaching its peak—

A brand-new system notification appeared across all devices.

[Challenger's Labyrinth Cleared]

[Clearing Adventurer: Daniel]

[Underground Labyrinth Difficulty: Hell]

[Clear Time: 0h 30m 24s]

[Clear Record Holder: Multiracial Commerce League — Daniel]

The entire network exploded.

Chapter 62: Chapter62-Value-Packed Advertisement

???

At that moment, every single human who saw the announcement was stunned into silence.

No one had expected this.

Just moments ago, everyone had still been debating whether or not Prince Daniel had completed the Star Upgrade Quest.

And now?

Daniel had not only entered the Challenger's Labyrinth, but had also secured the first kill??

Wait, seriously?

Is this even logical?

After a brief period of stunned silence, the entire human communication network once again erupted in a frenzy of discussion.

"Oh my god, what the hell just happened?"

"The Challenger's Labyrinth got cleared? And not just that—it was on Hell Mode?!"

"Come on, don't mess with us. Isn't the Hell Mode version of the Challenger's Labyrinth something only demigod-rank powerhouses dare to touch?"

"I finally understand why Prince Daniel had gone radio silent earlier—he was holding back something big!"

"Forget that for a moment. Aren't you people ignoring the most important part—his clear time?"

"Thirty minutes and twenty-four seconds? That's insanely fast!"

"Sure, it's not the record, but still—it's an amazing feat!"

"Yeah, yeah! Actually, Prince Daniel is already super powerful."

...

But what none of these people realized was that this year's Challenger's Labyrinth was anything but ordinary.

Just that one 30-minute timed objective phase alone was brutal. Even if a true god descended personally, they would still be forced to spend a full 30 minutes inside the underground labyrinth.

But Daniel?

He had cleared the entire underground labyrinth in just 24 seconds.

If it weren't for that annoying time-gated objective, he would've completed the whole thing long ago!

...

Multiracial Commerce League Headquarters

Inside the head office of the Multiracial Commerce League, the head himself was gracefully savoring a glass of red wine.

Compared to the wine from Misty Manor, he had always preferred the rich flavor of the Yamar Estate's vintages. There was a unique elegance to it that Misty Manor simply couldn't match.

Unfortunately, the Yamar Estate had been destroyed some time ago. The remaining bottles of its wine were now priceless treasures—drink one, and it's gone forever.

Even as the head of the Multiracial Commerce League, he cherished every last drop of that wine.

But just then, his communicator suddenly pinged with a new notification.

The head took a look...

...and immediately froze in place.

The wine glass, which had just been the object of his reverent admiration, slipped from his fingers and shattered on the ground.

"What... how did Daniel do this?"

The name Multiracial Commerce League had actually appeared on the clear record for the Challenger's Labyrinth.

And not just for any difficulty—it was Hell Mode!

Let's be clear: even within the League, the most optimistic expectations for Daniel had only hoped he could pass the normal difficulty version of the Labyrinth.

No one—absolutely no one—expected him to go after Hell Mode.

Come on, be serious!

The Hell Mode version of the Challenger's Labyrinth was designed specifically for demigod-rank elites!

Daniel was just a newly awakened Awaken—well, as far as the League knew. They hadn't yet realized he'd completed the Star Upgrade.

And he went to challenge Hell Mode?

That should've been a death sentence!

But...

It turned out to be a golden opportunity for the League.

Ever since the Challenger's Labyrinth first appeared, not a single Hell Mode clear record had ever included any advertisements.

After all, the demigod-rank powerhouses who usually cleared such challenges didn't need the extra revenue from sponsorships. The loot alone from the underground labyrinth was enough to make them filthy rich.

But now, things had changed.

The name Multiracial Commerce League had been etched into the Hell Mode clearance records.

What did that mean?

Even for a commercial empire as vast as the League, this was historic.

The sheer publicity impact of this was something no other business organization across the entire continent could match.

And all of this... was the result of a contract they had signed with Daniel.

Jackpot.

They had absolutely hit the jackpot.

The head's face gradually lit up with excitement.

Come to think of it, the person who signed that contract with Daniel had been Manager Harry.

This Harry... clearly worth nurturing!

Heath (the League's head) thought about this carefully and slowly composed himself.

He was a businessman through and through, one who thoroughly understood the principles of mutual benefit.

What many other merchants failed to realize was that greed was their greatest enemy.

Some businesspeople would throw away everything just for a bit of short-term profit. Such behavior ensured that their businesses would never last.

But top-tier merchants like Heath—they would never make such foolish mistakes.

Take the present situation, for example.

He was already thinking about how best to repay Daniel!

After all, the stronger Daniel appeared, the higher his future standing would be.

Aiding someone in their time of need would always yield far more returns than just celebrating someone at the height of their success.

But then...

Heath furrowed his brow again.

Because as Daniel grew more powerful, ordinary gifts would no longer catch his eye.

Even the Human Emperor had already taken action, granting Daniel the status of nobility.

So what could the Multiracial Commerce League offer, that would truly catch the eye of this rising star of humanity?

...

Challenger's Labyrinth

Daniel had just finished packing up all the loot from his clear.

The reason he had left the name Multiracial Commerce League on the clearance record was, of course, because of that previous contract.

Daniel was someone who honored his word.

Besides, he'd always had a decent relationship with the League.

So fulfilling his end of the deal? That was only right.

It wasn't a big deal anyway—just leaving a name. It didn't cost him anything.

On the contrary, it helped solidify his relationship with the League, bringing the two sides even closer.

Totally worth it!

As for what kind of reaction the League would have...

He wasn't going to worry about that.

That was Harry's headache now!

...

[Clearance rewards have been calculated. Please check your inventory.]

Daniel looked up and was greeted by the sight of a massive pile of treasure chests!

Just one glance, and he could see they filled an area the size of a soccer field.

But then again, that was understandable.

After all, there were 453 chests in total.

It would've been strange not to take up that much space!

"I wonder if any of these contain something actually worthwhile..."

With a flash of expectation in his eyes, Daniel began unlocking all of them.

Truthfully, at this point in his progression, normal loot held almost no value to him.

Even a mountain of gold coins was essentially meaningless.

What he really needed were rare materials—resources so precious they could only be traded through barter. Money alone couldn't buy them.

As chest after chest opened, more and more treasures piled up before him.

High-quality equipment of all types—at least a thousand pieces.

To the average Awakener, these were priceless artifacts.

But to Daniel?

They were practically junk.

The stat boosts these items offered were laughably low—not even worth a second glance.

What Daniel really cared about was whether these chests had any rare crafting materials.

The rarer, the better!

Chapter 63: Chapter63-Talent Exclusive Skill: [Forceful Convergence]!

With the activation of the skill [Forceful Convergence], a massive quantity of equipment was instantly drawn into Daniel's backpack.

To others, especially the average Awakeners, this mountain of gear would be considered a treasure trove—each item potentially life-saving, stat-boosting, or battle-altering. But in Daniel's eyes? It was nothing more than garbage. The attributes were mediocre at best. To him, these pieces of equipment weren't even worth a second glance.

Still, trash to a god-tier powerhouse could fetch a handsome price in the right hands.

Daniel's plan was simple: sell it all to the Multiracial Commerce League.

With his loot sorted, Daniel turned his gaze toward the skill books he had obtained. Unfortunately, just like the last time he cleared a major challenge, the majority of these skill books were utterly worthless—filler, duplicates, or lacking any practical combat value.

Among the pile, however, there was one outlier: a Divine Infinite Specialization skill book. That might sound exciting—except Daniel had already mastered it. His brow furrowed slightly.

All that effort spent clearing the Challenger's Labyrinth... was this really the best it had to offer?

"Could it be that my luck was just bad this time?"

A glimmer of insight flashed in Daniel's eyes.

"[Time Stream], activate!"

With that familiar sense of temporal distortion, Daniel once again found himself staring into the flowing tides of the Time River. Without hesitation, he rewound himself to the exact moment right before opening the treasure chest.

When he opened his eyes, the treasure chest before him was once again sealed shut.

Thinking for a moment, he fished a bottle of [Luck Potion] from his inventory and downed it in one gulp.

This kind of potion was extremely rare, the kind that was almost impossible to find in the current market. Daniel had spent ages collecting them—only managing to gather 20 full sets. A set consisted of 999 bottles, and every bottle mattered.

As the [Luck Potion] coursed through his system, Daniel could feel an invisible force washing over him—a subtle, otherworldly enhancement to his fate.

Without wasting another second, he opened the treasure chest once more.

A flood of items spilled out, forming a glittering mound of spoils.

But this time, things were different.

The equipment quality had improved—not by a massive margin, but noticeable enough. Roughly 30% more of the items were high-tier gear. Even the skill books were more numerous and had visibly improved in grade.

Still... the Divine Infinite Specialization that dropped again was one he already owned.

"Tch. Again?"

Daniel didn't even blink before activating [Time Stream] once more.

Scene change. Eyes open. Another [Luck Potion] down the hatch.

Hundreds of treasure chests exploded open again, bathing the area in divine light and rare loot.

But once again, the difference in results was minimal.

Apparently, the [Luck Potion] didn't provide as massive a boost as he had hoped—it improved things slightly, but the core outcome was still somewhat fixed.

Despite opening chests again and again, Daniel still didn't obtain the Talent Specialization he truly desired.

So, he did it again.

And again.

Ten times...

Twelve...

Fourteen...

After burning through over a dozen [Time Stream] activations, Daniel finally came to a realization:

The Talent Specialization drops from Challenger's Labyrinth were actually predetermined.

Unless...

There was one other possibility: maybe he had already unlocked every single Divine Infinite Specialization that existed.

Either way, after so many retries, the outcome remained largely the same—disappointing.

Daniel sighed inwardly. The rewards just weren't living up to the challenge he had overcome.

But just as he was skimming through the last few skill books, his eyes landed on something different—something he had completely overlooked until now.

It looked like any other S-rank skill book. Plain. Standard cover. No flashy markings.

But a small line of text caught his eye.

It was a Divine Infinite exclusive skill book.

Wait—what?!

Daniel nearly cursed aloud.

He'd almost missed it! If he hadn't been meticulous enough to double-check everything, he might've discarded this hidden gem by mistake!

Without hesitation, he chose to learn the skill.

[Talent Exclusive Skill: Infinite Arsenal]

Effect:

When switching weapons, Daniel would now receive a random SSS-rank skill tied to that weapon's class.

His eyes gleamed.

Now that was more like it.

The logic was simple. The moment he swapped to a new weapon—say, his [Star Chasing Bow]—this Talent Skill would instantly bestow him with a temporary SSS-tier bow-related skill.

In other words, every time Daniel changed weapons, it was as if he gained a fresh new tool of destruction tailored to that weapon class.

Just then, a prompt appeared in front of him.

"Do you want to Max it out?"

"Max it!"

[Talent Exclusive Skill: Divine Arsenal]

Effect 1:

Upon weapon swap, gain a random SSS-tier skill for the current weapon class.

Effect 2:

Gain an additional devotee-exclusive skill.

Daniel's jaw dropped.

"Holy—this is insane!"

Now this... this was a real Talent Exclusive Skill.

Alice's Talent Exclusive Skills only included two: [Stellar Arrow] and [Stellar Flash].

Originally, Daniel had only managed to learn [Stellar Flash], which evolved into [Starlight Flurry] when maxed out.

But now, thanks to [Divine Arsenal], he automatically gained [Stellar Arrow] as well!

There was a catch, of course—[Stellar Arrow] was a temporary skill, so he couldn't upgrade it. Still, even as a temporary buff, it gave Daniel a major edge.

[Stellar Arrow] infused his ranged attacks with starlight energy, layering his physical strikes with additional elemental power.

That meant his damage output was no longer purely physical—it had become hybrid damage.

"Now that's what I call loot from the Challenger's Labyrinth!"

He finally felt that the dungeon had rewarded him properly. Without this new find, he would've left feeling seriously shortchanged.

After organizing everything, Daniel didn't rush to leave the underground labyrinth.

Why would he?

Now that he'd cleared the dungeon, he was under an invincible state. No monsters would respawn, and no enemies could harm him here.

In fact, Challenger's Labyrinth had become the safest place in the world for him.

"Head to Divine Council!"

With that thought, the space around him shifted. The majestic Divine Temple unfolded before his eyes once again.

Luminous Forest.

Alice was still in the middle of her prayer.

Her expression was devout, serene—yet focused.

Suddenly, she felt a divine connection pulse in her heart.

Daniel's voice had responded.

When she opened her eyes again, she found the scenery around her had changed.

She had once more been summoned to the grand Divine Temple.

"You've done very well."

From atop the divine throne, Daniel's voice echoed—serene, calm, and filled with praise.

Alice stiffened in awe.

She... she had earned the god's approval!?
