Chapter 2 - TST [2]

'This... is actually a system?!'

The essential golden finger for any transmigrator!

Morgan was both shocked and thrilled, almost jumping out of bed.

After forcing herself to calm down, she asked inwardly,

'System, what functions do you have?'

[Strongest Female Duelist System]

┗ This system can enhance the host's Dueling skills, accumulate experience, and awaken talents.

┗ The host can earn Duel Points through Duels and use them in the shop to exchange for any card.

┗ As a binding reward, the newbie starter deck has already been issued.

┗ Would you like to claim it?

The cold voice had barely finished when Morgan immediately said:

"Claim it!"

In the next instant, a Deck appeared in her hands.

As luck would have it, it was none other than Trickstar.

To be honest, this Deck was somewhat responsible for her ending up in this world in the first place.

'Talk about karma!'

She never expected that now it would be her turn to use this Deck.

Morgan couldn't help but recall a warning that circulated among card players in her past life:

"Don't play Trickstars. You'll become unlucky."

Unfortunately, she was living proof of that now.

Still, Morgan had no other options at the moment.

Though the original owner of this body did have a Deck, it had no strategy or combos whatsoever—just a pile of favorite cards lumped together into a useless stack.

That was also the main reason for her terrible grades.

After a series of medical checkups, seeing that Morgan was awake and her body showed no other abnormalities, Belle finally let out a sigh of relief.

She fussed over Morgan, making sure everything was in order before heading home to cook for her.

As she left, Belle was even humming a cheerful tune.

Seeing this, Morgan couldn't help but smile.

But then, her expression turned serious again.

Her top priority now was to rapidly earn Duel Points. Though she had the Trickstar Deck, a single Deck wasn't nearly enough to face real Duelists.

A one-dimensional tactic would get countered easily.

In her previous life as a player, Morgan always prepared multiple Decks.

After all, no Deck was perfect. It wasn't uncommon for low-attack Decks to get completely walled by just a single Token.

That said, right now, she faced a huge dilemma:

Her leg was broken. Where was she supposed to go to Duel?

Looking at her right leg wrapped in a thick cast, a trace of helplessness appeared on her face.

There was no way she could roll around in a wheelchair for matches, right?

Even if she was fine with it, Belle definitely wouldn't allow it.

Just then, Morgan caught sight of her Duel Disk on the table. In all the chaos, she hadn't had time to take it off, so it ended up here at the hospital with her.

Alongside it was her school-use mini computer, containing the classes she had missed over the past few days.

In this world, virtual reality technology was already highly advanced—The summoned monsters looked almost indistinguishable from the real thing, and thanks to a powerful internet network, people could connect their Duel Disks to their computers and Duel virtually.

Even if the Duelists were worlds apart, there would be no lag whatsoever.

Virtual Duels even had rankings, known as the Duelist Ladder!

Those with high Ladder rankings could even get scouted by Duelist Clubs and go pro.

The ranks were divided as follows: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Legend, and Duel King—Each rank leap, a massive hurdle.

Morgan strapped the Duel Disk onto her arm. For a girl barely in her teens, the white Duel Disk felt pretty heavy.

She connected the computer to the Duel Disk and launched the virtual Dueling software on the desktop.

Feeling a brief wave of dizziness, Morgan entered the virtual Duel Lobby.

Soon after, a pop-up window appeared on the screen.

Since this was her first time logging in, she hadn't set her ID yet.

After thinking for a moment and glancing at the Trickstar Deck in her hands, Morgan smiled and typed in a name:

[SunshineStriker]

Satisfied, she hit confirm and officially became a member of the Lobby.

Since this was a new account, her starting rank was the lowest: Bronze One Star.

But Morgan didn't care about rank—Her only goal right now was to earn Duel Points and trade them for Decks and Talents.

Shoving the Trickstar Deck into the Duel Disk's card slot, Morgan hit the matchmaking button.

At this stage, Duelists could only match with others of the same rank.

Of course, there was always the risk of high-level players smurfing.

Even so, Morgan didn't mind that. In fact, she wanted to gauge the strength of this world's top players.

Ding-dong—!

While she was zoning out, the computer had already found her an opponent.

The moment she accepted the Duel, her Duel Disk gave a light chime and unfolded. The Duel field appeared on the screen.

Both players' Life Points: [LP: 8000]

A glint of excitement flashed through Morgan's amber eyes as she drew five cards from her Deck.

"Duel!"
