So, let's be blunt about this story. It was literally made for me. I was in the mood for a Lord of the Rings fanfic, but I only found heroes participating in the plot and leaving empty-handed, or crazy people who killed everyone they considered bad. There are also those who want nothing more than to participate in the plot and positive visions everywhere.
So I gave up looking, sat down, opened the writing app, and started writing. Not thoughtfully, not designed to be read by someone else, but putting my own train of thought into writing.
It's already clear that I'm not a die-hard Tolkien fan. I haven't read anything other than a lot of wikis, watched nothing other than the movies and a lot of YouTube videos explaining the subject. So I was kind of overwhelmed by how vast this universe is, but I don't think I know enough to truly write a masterpiece, worthy of a Lord of the Rings fanfic.
That said, let it be clear that I don't know much of the universe, and if I do, it's so much content that I may have forgotten. But if you, dear reader, find plot errors in the story, feel free to tell me. My original plan was to write another Lord of the Rings novel with the powers of the "Fool" from Lord of Mysteries. Like, starting as an ordinary human much earlier, perhaps in the Second Age, and slowly rising from a Seer to the Fool, perhaps going further and reaching the Lord of Mysteries, but I decided to leave that for when I truly understand the universe.
(P.S. If anyone wants to write about this, let me know; I'd love to read it.)
This story was a lot of fun for me while I was writing it, and for the fans, you might not like it much because my character has a mix of a dragon's personality, an evil dragon who lived for a long time. So, I'm warning you now: the MC will do some morally questionable things, but in the future, he'll improve, balancing out this perverse side. But in the beginning, be warned.
For those who thought about rape, there won't be sex without consent, but there will be coerced sex. So if that's not for you, stop now and don't bother me later.
Yes, this is a harem. From my other fanfics, you may know that I'm not a pure harem writer, but when I was thinking about Smaug's personality, I thought of the typical evil dragon, mixed with the personality of a man with a desire for women. It would result in a dragon who desires as many women as he can have.
In this sense, don't expect all the women to throw themselves at the MC. On the contrary, some of them will resent being his women for a long time, and others will fall madly in love, for obvious reasons. I even considered having one of them commit suicide or something to add more realism, but I ended up discarding it because I wouldn't have liked it, and as I said before, this was a story I wrote for myself.
This story is finished with 25 chapters, each about 2,500 to 3,000 words long. I haven't edited them yet, so they may take a while to be posted. The worst part is that since I wrote it while I was imagining the story, I haven't revised anything, so I may have forgotten something or changed my mind at some point, and there will be continuity errors. I'll try to finish them all before posting, but if not, you've been warned again.
I wasn't going to post this story at first, but then I thought it might inspire someone to write a better Lord of the Rings story than mine that I'd enjoy, so I decided to post it to find kindred spirits.
Which means no deep heroism, no sucking up to the protagonists, no system that summons millions of troops without supplies or logic, no creating a plot where you kill Thranduil because you don't like his face, and no divine scenes of Eru Ilúvatar looking like a Jedi Master sending an MC on a mission.
My novels focus on individualism and worldliness, and I prefer a pragmatic and neutral approach, but this specific story can't be neutral because if Sauron wins, the MC loses, so they can only go against him, which remains pragmatic.
At this point, it's clear that if you're a die-hard Tolkien fan, my story probably isn't for you, but if you'd like to read it, I'd be happy if you could provide me with any interesting information or correct any mistakes I may have made.
Now, before you say something like, "That's impossible! No mortal can 'eat' Morgoth's corruption and be fine!" or "That's impossible! Eru Ilúvatar would never allow him to tamper with his song!" just imagine that someone more powerful than the creator of this world sent the MC there, and the god has no choice. That's it.
Any other questions, feel free to leave them in the comments, and I'll try to answer them. Thank you for reading this far.
